Staying with this latest um data dump on Jeffrey Epstein with over three million documents released, they're still being combed through and this has sparked some false rumors about Epstein's financial dealings, including that he invented the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. Clarify for us.
Well, it m it might sound like a far-fetched rumor, but a single post with this claim racked up nearly five uh million views on X, and it was far from being the only post of this type. Multiple users claimed that late uh disgraced financeier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was in fact Satoshi Nakamoto, which is the pseudonym for the creator of Bitcoin, whose identity remains a mystery to this day. It's even still unclear if, despite the Japanese origin name, if the creator of Bitcoin is even Japanese or if it's even one individual or if it's a multitude uh of people.
Now, if you're wondering about this metal face superimposed on Jeffrey Epstein, there it is in fact taken from the uh metal statue in Nakamoto's honor in Budapest, Hungary. Uh so that's what that is. But online, users claim that documents unearthed in this latest uh Epstein file dump prove that in fact Epstein was also the creator of Bitcoin. So, let's have a look at these emails.
Uh, now this is the this is a screenshot claiming to be from the released files. It's dated October 31, 2008. It's from Jeffrey Epstein to his uh right-hand woman and his main accomplice, Gileain Maxwell. It says, "Glain, the Satoshi pseudonym is working perfectly. Our our little digital gold mine is is ready for the world. Funding secured." Uh, but what I can tell you very very easily is that this email is fake. It's not an authentic one and it's certainly not in the Epstein files that was released recently.
>> So, Veric, tell us what are the signs that it's a fake one?
>> Well, there's a there's a few physical signs. Firstly, if we look at the screenshot itself, I want to point out that there's two different lines uh for the person it's addressed to two and two, one of which is a direct copy and paste of the subject uh as well. Uh now I also want to show you that when we look up on the uh full Epstein library released by the US Department of Justice, if we looked up the the keyword Satoshi, there are in fact 24 results bearing that keyword. So this is a word that does come up in the Epstein files and it is mentioned uh in 24 different results. But we combed through every single one of these and not a single email or document in this uh out of these 24 is exactly this viral post that we're seeing there. and not nor is there any confession in any of these 24 file files about Jeffrey Epstein uh having invented Bitcoin or being uh Satoshi Nakamoto.
Now, we also looked up some phrases from uh our viral email like the one little digital gold mine which bore no results. We also looked up the email address that's listed here, jpsteinfinancial uh.net. That's the one in this viral uh screenshot here. But again, no results came from that. And interestingly, it is different from the email address that is being seen in all the other uh Epstein files that are being released and combed through as we speak. It's possible that he had two, but again, it didn't bear any results when we did uh look it up. So, from our conclusion there, there's no evidence uh from the latest file dump that links Jeffrey Epstein to being the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.
>> Okay. Epstein perhaps not the creator of Bitcoin. But is it true, Vetica, that he had more influence in the tech industry than had previously been thought?
>> Yes, the latest file dump indicates that Epstein had a a much wider and deeper net in the tech industry than was previously uh known. Many documents show that he was in regular contact with at least 20 prominent tech investors and tech executives and uh also showed us more detail on his investments with them as well. For example, uh there was a scores of emails between Epstein and billionaire PayPal founder Peter Thiel. So, more details about how he invested $40 million into one of uh Teal's funds. In terms of cryptocurrency, there's also several emails uh written to Joy Chi Itto uh who was at the time the director of the MIT Media Lab, which then uh was hosting research groups linked to early cryptocurrency uh and the development of what has become uh Bitcoin. And uh Jeffrey Epste also invested millions of dollars into cryptocurrency uh like Coinbase uh and blockchain capital as well. Uh but there is definitely more indication here that Epstein had a lot more fingers in the Silicon Valley uh pies than we previously thought. He might not have in invented Bitcoin or created it, but he certainly did have an influence on uh building cryptocurrency as a whole as to what we know today. That
