All [Music] right. So, I debated whether or not to even talk about this stupid speech that Donald Trump wedged himself into and Pete Hexth gave, but I actually think this moment requires us to pay attention to it.
Sometimes things happen that Donald Trump does or his satellite of awful characters do, and I just choose to not focus on it because I think that's what they actually want us to do. But I actually think this is an important moment in American history. And the fact that Donald Trump was met with silence, I think uh is meaningful. And of course, the things that they had to say were alarming. So it's two things happening here at once.
One, I actually felt a bit of hope by the charade that they put on and the way that the generals responded, but I also felt despondent by the fact that they said the things they said. But let us start with I think the best part of the entire day. Donald Trump walked into a room of silence, which I don't think like can you tell me I don't think this has ever happened before in his entire life where he was not met with applause that the thing in his mind that requires attention and praise was for a moment not met and he did not like it one bit.
>> I've never walked into a room so silent before. This is very Oh, don't laugh. Don't laugh. You're not allowed to do that. You know what? Just have a good time. And if you want to applaud, you applaud. And if you want to do anything you want, you can do anything you want. And if you don't like what I'm saying, you can leave the room. Of course, there goes your rank, there goes your future.
>> Yeah. So, a little bit of laughs there, but still, the fact that he was not with met with applause, very important. Now, Donald Trump, and I'm going to show you some stuff in Pete Hexth, too, but Donald Trump, this is fascism. This is fascism. It is here. It is here. We've said it before, I'm saying it again. We cannot get normalized to this. There is no invasion in America. There is no enemy within America aside from the person behind the presidential seal speaking. That is the enemy within. The person who's trying to do everything he can to defy our constitution and our way of life.
But here's how he put it.
>> That's what it is. Only in recent decades did politicians somehow come to believe that our job is to police the far reaches of Kenya and Somalia while America is under invasion from within. We're under invasion from within. No different than a foreign enemy, but more difficult in many ways because they don't wear uniforms. At least when they're wearing a uniform, you can take them out. These people don't have uniforms. But we are under invasion from
>> We're not under invasion. Not at least in the way that he says, but certainly the insurrectionists from January 6 have taken control. And whether or not we survive this moment is yet to be seen. And what else do we have here? We have Donald Trump also saying that. Yeah, let's just about Yeah.
>> Fantastic. By the way, I hope you all agree. If anybody disagrees, could I please have your hand who disappears that raising Kane is no good? Just raise your hand. I don't see any hands raised. All right, that means you're okay. That means that he's okay now. But I saw his results, you know. Oh, he's actually sounds like by the way. He sounds really bad now. I just love that the Generals did not give him an inch. Did not give him an inch. And Pete, I mean, you can tell they totally they totally do not respect Pete Hexth. Good morning and welcome to the War Department because the era of the Department of Defense is over. You see, the motto of my first platoon was those who long for peace must prepare for war. This is of course not a new idea. This crowd knows that. The origin dates to the 4th century Rome and has been repeated ever since, including by our first commander-in-chief. It's still the department of defense by the way. I mean they can call it is so is it hypocritical? Is it ironic that these are the folks who who think it is it is the greatest crime imaginable for someone born biologically a male to then decide to live their life as a woman. in their adult life and they refuse to identify that person by their gender, their preferred gender. And we have someone who does not want to call the Department of Defense what its name is. You can't just change the name. There's a process. Congress has to do it. But now they're just saying, "Actually, we identify as the Department of War." It is so ironic to me. It is so ironic. And we also have Pete Hexath over here saying that they are going to get rid of beards. This is a two-minute clip. I'm not going to play it, but that is the takeaway. They're getting rid of beards. And he also says, "If you don't meet the male level physical standards for compositions, cannot pass a PT test. They don't want to shave professional. It's time for an imposition." I actually think this is the beginning of their way to try to get to try to take people out of the military who are not 100% compliant to Trump instead of those who take an oath to the Constitution. And I think that's exactly what he's doing here too about making it so that women have to compete on the same level as men.
>> When it comes to any job that requires physical power to perform in combat, those physical standards must be high and genderneutral. If women can make it, excellent. If not, it is what it is. If that means no women qualify for some combat jobs, so be it. That is not the intent, but it could be the result. So be it. These are the people who are like, men cannot compete in women's sports, but they want women now to compete at the same level as men. It's all backwards. But this is I mean really what he's doing is saying he doesn't want women in combat anymore. He's trying to get them out of the military. And by the way, what we don't fight by comet anymore. It's drones and bombs and it's digital warfare. This is like an old way of thinking about defense or war as he likes to put it. And by the way, this silence, by the way, when he was done with his speech was so loud. I've never heard silence be loud before. It was shouting. Move out and draw fire because we are the war department. Godspeed.
>> That little look, you can tell he was waiting for applause. That never happened. [Music]
>> Governor Newsome said this. Pete at his big meeting this morning. I'm war secretary and impeded himself. He pedi himself. Uh and then Donald Trump also said if you don't like what he's saying, you can leave the room. And he's also saying he was going to fire you. I do think that's what this is really about. They're preparing um they are laying down their groundwork to have reasonable deniability about why they are trying to uh get folks out of the military who are not completely subservient to Trump. But it's actually just another day of complete embarrassment for us in our country. That's really what this is. Another day, another embarrassment. But I wanted to bring it to you because I do think this is one of those things where we're going to look back on it and I do think this is a historical marker. And I again think it was at least a little bit hopeful that our generals were professional and apolitical. Very important. Thank you for watching. If you like this video, please hit like.
