What is going on guys, and welcome back to another video. In this one, I'm going to be talking about how every man needs monk mode.

Now, monk mode is the time in a man's life when he chooses to sacrifice everything that is holding him back from achieving his highest level of focus. When a man sacrifices the things that bring him a little bit of joy in life, the things that give him a little bit of comfort, he'll sometimes find that his ability to work, his productivity, increases exponentially. The amount of time that it might have taken to complete a certain amount of tasks or a set amount of work goes from possibly being a couple years down to a couple months.

Now, what this looks like in the modern man is often getting rid of things that are promoted by society as being perfectly healthy in moderation. Things like drinking alcohol, things like smoking weed, things like watching porn, watching TV, doom scrolling, even pursuing women. When you sacrifice these things, you find that a lot of your lifestyle involved energy just constantly going out of you. And because the energy's constantly going out of you, you can't actually focus the energy into the places where it actually needs to go. All right?

So, what you need to understand is that they don't tell you when they say drink in moderation that when you drink that one night every single Friday, that it's probably going to give you crappy sleep that night. And then you're probably going to feel crappy the next day on Saturday. You're not productive, you don't get very much done. And so, then you end up playing this game where you're just trying to recoup your losses. And then it hits Monday and you're like, now I have to go back to work. And then the rest of the week you're just trying to get back up on your feet again. And then by the time that you finish the week, it's Friday again and it's time to go out drinking with all your guy friends again. Like people don't tell you that all of these vices are holding you back so much more than just the period of time that you are actually spending engaging with them. And I think that that's kind of the aha moment that a lot of guys have when they go into monk mode. It's like, oh, these things were affecting me in a lot of other areas of my life that I didn't realize. But this is a very extreme practice and I'm going to talk about how to properly implement it and who should actually be properly implementing it. So, make sure you listen up, all right?

The power lies in the insane levels of productivity because once you go into monk mode once, once there's a period of time where you've just got this clear path ahead of you of everything that you can achieve and there's so little distractions, you start to realize your potential and just how hard you can work and how good it feels to be truly focused and locked in on something. And now, once you've done this, once you've gone through a phase of monk mode, you then will compare yourself for the rest of your life to the most productive version of yourself that you were when you were in monk mode. And that's why it's so incredibly valuable. That's why every man should at least go through a phase of time where he is sacrificing these things that are holding him back.

What tends to happen is when you return back to normalcy and you're no longer in monk mode, you tend to have a more clear mind and you tend to have a more objective view of how things are actually affecting you on a day-to-day basis, all right? So, ask yourself the question, how bad do I actually want to get where I want to go? Because if you have certain goals in mind, if you have certain aspirations, but you're not really willing to cut out certain things from your life in order to get there or in order to speed up the process exponentially, you have to ask yourself how much do you want it? Because some people are okay with just taking a much, much longer time to get somewhere, all right? And at the end of the day, your urgency is going to determine how you go about living your life and how you go about putting in that level of focus and effort that is unmatched by the other competitors, by the other people around you.

Now, what you need to understand is that if your productivity drops by, say, 20%, instead of taking 4 years to get to a specific goal, let's say that it takes 5 years, all right? And how are you going to know just how much your productivity drops when you implement certain things that society tells you is okay to implement into your lifestyle if you've never actually gone monk mode and taken everything out of the equation before. It's a very important step to understanding just how powerful your focus truly is.

Number two, only go monk mode if you actually have direction. Because I see a lot of men that will say, oh, hey, I'm going to go monk mode. And what it turns into is it just turns into this level of isolation where they just get incredibly depressed and they feel lost and they feel more disconnected and less productive than ever. When you realize that you have so much more to do, that is the time that you actually want to go into monk mode. You need a clear plan of what you are going to be working on and where you are going to be focusing your energy. Because your energy is going into these other things and if you decide, hey, I'm going to cut all of those things out, but I have absolutely no direction, I have no idea where this energy is actually going to go, you're going to implode. You're going to self-destruct, you're going to find yourself isolating, you're going to find yourself in a really bad mental space. So, when distractions are the main thing that is holding you back, that is the time that you need to actually go monk mode. It's when the distractions are what's keeping you from doing what needs to be done.

Now, for most of you guys, if you're struggling with purpose, there is a level of sacrifice that will help you find that purpose and we'll get into that a little bit later, all right? But you can't go monk mode when you have a very, very low ceiling, all right? So, let's say that you have like a 9-to-5 job and you don't really do anything outside of that 9-to-5 job. You don't really know what you want to do. You don't know where to put your energy. Then going monk mode is just going to separate you from people and then you're going to be like, what in the world am I doing here? What am I doing with with with all of this extra time? And sometimes that can be beneficial because what it should do is it should stir the creativity inside of you and start giving you ideas of areas that you could actually put your time, but I'm always encouraging young men to go out and find side work. Like outside of the 9-to-5 job that they do, go find something that you can actually put your energy and your effort into. You need a place where you can directly pour into something and watch it grow. Like you were made in the image of God and God is a builder. He's created all of creation because of an overflowing of his love and his creativity. You also have that creativity, but it's being zapped away by all of these other things, okay? So, sometimes you just need to get rid of the distractions before you actually find that purpose and then you can actually see where your energy is meant to be going, okay?

So, number three, part of monk mode is conquering the FOMO, aka the fear of missing out. Because this keeps so many people stuck for decades. I'll watch people in the same exact friend groups do the same exact things over and over and over again. And you can tell after a couple years, they're not really interested in doing it anymore, but everybody else does it. It just becomes what you do. And so, they're stuck in this cycle of life where they don't really want to be there, but there's this level of peer pressure and if they're not there, then they kind of feel like they're missing out. And [snorts] it will keep people stuck, like I said, for decades and it is not the place that you want to be.

What monk mode does is it gets you comfortable with actually being alone. Like you start working out alone. You start meal prepping alone. You start doing your work alone. You start being alone with your thoughts, thinking by yourself. And what this does is it creates separation. And when you separate from the pack, you start to meditate more. You start to think on things. And separation is actually what drives that sense of purpose. Because no longer are you a part of the pack just kind of doing what everybody else says that you should be doing. Now you are going off on your own and trying to find something that is in line with who you actually are and what you actually want to do. And that's when you start building your own life for yourself. And that's an incredibly freeing feeling. People will spend their entire lives doing what other people pressure them into doing and living how others think that they should ultimately live. And it's often times when you break free of this that you actually find purpose. It's why I encourage people that have these friend groups that just sit around doing the same exact thing all of the time. I recommend that you break away from those. Get rid of your friend groups if they are something that is truly holding you back. Go take accountability and learn to do some of these things alone. I see men that when they go to the gym, they'll be working out with somebody else all of the time. And then when that person drops off and stops going to the gym, they stop going to the gym. Do you really want to be attached to that herd mentality? Do you really want to have to rely on somebody else being there in order for you to do your work, to do the things that you need to do in order to get to the goals that you want to achieve? Like there is an element of this that is quite isolating, but that's exactly how a lot of life is. You're going to be fighting battles a lot of the times by yourself. And I'm not saying that you need to be lone wolf your entire life, but you need to learn how to do the work when nobody else is watching, nobody else is paying attention, and often times when nobody else is supporting you. You have to be able to do the work without that.

Back when I first started posting on YouTube fitness content, you know, and trying to educate people on how to get into better shape and lose fat and build muscle, I remember for a period of a couple weeks, I started turning down pretty much every single offer for hanging out that came my way. I was like, "No, I'm actually going to spend this evening doing this, shooting this video, trying to make this video." Even though the videos were horrible. Even though they were not going to get any views. Even though I was so bad at making them. Even though I didn't want to make them. I just started turning down these requests. And every single time that I turned down a request, it [snorts] placed like a load on my shoulders where I was like, "Okay, I just turned something down. Now it's up to me to take this time and utilize it in a way that I know is going to be better than what the alternative was. And so that separation starts to create purpose and it starts to motivate you forward more. And what some people will do is they'll go they'll go incredibly incredibly introverted when this happens. Try to avoid that. Like still have a certain level of community to the point where you are scratching that itch and you are making sure that you are staying as productive as possible, but you really have to understand that it's comparing yourself to the most productive version of yourself for the rest of your life. That is where things become incredibly beneficial.

Now, when you take a different path, it's going to be scary at first, but it's also going to be incredibly exciting as time goes on because you're like, "Ooh, I'm in uncharted territory. I'm going off and I'm doing something that I've never done before. I'm holding myself to a different set of standards." And I think that what this does is it ultimately starts to rewire your brain. It starts to make sure that you don't actually go out and distract yourself with other things now because there's a burden on you to perform with the extra time that you have. And so there's a motivation there that comes from just simply saying no and sacrificing these other things.

Now, last thing that I'll leave you with is that monk mode is about taking away the things that are holding you back. And for some guys, going out and pursuing women, it's just a massive time suck. They're obsessed with chasing tail. If you are somebody like that, somebody that has not conquered your sexual desires or you really just don't have any control over it in general, then this is something that you're going to have to give up. But a lot of men out there who are already introverted, you know, guys who tend to shy away from talking to people, shy away from social interactions, there might be an aspect of monk mode that is forcing you into community and into having conversations or into going out on dates with women. Because that's what monk mode is about. Monk mode is not just about completely separating yourself from every single person. Monk mode is more about sacrificing the things that are holding you back and then doing the things that are going to cause more growth. And so for me, for example, I tend to get nervous when I talk to females or at least I used to. And so when I would go into monk mode, part of my goal was to go up and approach one woman every single day and to just chat with her and just have a good conversation. And this would really really push me and it would sort of add all of the other things that I was working on in my life. It was a very simple task. It would only take, you know, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, maybe 5 minutes at most because I would just implement that one habit into my daily routine. And so I would do it just involved with everything else. I would do it when I was at the gym or when I was at the grocery store. This does not mean that you just stop pursuing women altogether because you need to understand that there are multiple different areas of your life that you want to stay very proactive with. And if you find yourself isolating to the point where your social abilities begin to wax and wane and your charisma decreases, I would argue that you are shooting yourself in the foot because that charisma is the very thing that is going to help you in business and with dating and just in life in general. And so you need to make sure that you're exercising that muscle, but you're exercising it in a way that is positively benefiting your life instead of putting you in a situation where your energy is now going to be sucked from you.

So hopefully that makes sense to you guys. I think that this is an important aspect that every single man should implement into his life at some point or another. Even though it seems extreme, I think that this is a period of time when a lot of men find themselves, when a lot of men find that purpose that they've been searching for because it really shocks you when you get rid of the drugs that you haven't realized that you've been hooked on the entire time. So make sure to drop a like down below if you enjoyed this video. Drop a single thumbs up in the comment section if you watched all the way through to the end and I will see you guys all in the next one. Peace.
