You've probably seen him. The man some believe is the antichrist, gaining more and more followers around the world every single day. But what most don't understand is why it's working and how his viral miracles are now being weaponized into a movement against Christianity.
You see, everyone thinks that they would never fall for something like this until they do. The false pope, he was killed by the mere breath of the believers. I witnessed him use me as a vessel to bring my dad back to life. I am Abdullah, the successor of Jesus Christ. I saw him resurrect my wife from the dead. What we're witnessing is spiritual deception and it's evolving, powered by social media. And if we don't understand why it's working, how social media is accelerating it, and what makes Jesus categorically different from the self-proclaimed prophet, we'll never see the next one coming.
So, the moment that really put him on the map happened on Easter Sunday. All around the world, followers of a new leader stood outside churches to announce a man that has been chosen by God as the true pope. His name, Abdullah Hashim Abba al-Sadi. And the very next day, Pope Francis died. Pope Francis has died. We had the most revelationary absolute miracle which has occurred. The believers and supporters of Abdullah Hashim went all over the world and declared that it's time to have a new pope. And that is the power of Allah of God. The false pope was taken out of leadership. And Abdullah himself even claimed that he and his followers were the cause. The believers stood in the crowd before the false pope on Easter and less than 24 hours later, a great miracle and sign occurred. He was killed by the mere breath of the believers.
Now, this may sound absurd to you, but I'd be willing to bet that someone that you love is perfectly primed for this kind of deception. And it's not because they're gullible. It's because today's false prophets have something that the ancient cult leaders never did: an algorithm. But algorithms don't care about the truth. They only care about traction and fear. Fear always says, "I addressed to the Christians worldwide to uh let them know that I am that person that they are obliged to follow. I'm here to warn everybody that there is an incredible punishment that is coming down upon mankind, the likes that they have never seen before." You see, fear hijacks your attention and this is fertile grounds for false prophets to thrive. I mean, just think back to 2020 during CO. False prophets were coming out of everywhere and gaining insane traction despite getting so many prophecies verifiably wrong. And it's in moments of chaos and confusion that someone will speak with unwavering confidence. And they don't just sound persuasive, they feel like a savior, even if they're selling a lie. "a very clear proof and evidence that Christians uh do not have the Holy Spirit with them um is uh is slavery in the United States." People who simply don't like Christianity are primed for this moment right now. I mean, just take a look at this chart. From 2021 to 2022, nearly 26 million Americans reduced or completely stopped reading their Bible in a single year. Or how about this study that shows that only 6% of adults and 9% of self-identified Christians hold a basic biblical worldview. Now, that's not just a stat. That's a massive problem. Because despite having more access to scripture than any other generation in history, we're also the most biblically illiterate. And that's what makes this a uniquely prime time for us to be deceived.
Most people don't know that Jesus warned us that these false prophets will come. And he also said that they would lead many astray. In fact, he said, "If anyone says to you, look, here's the Messiah, or there he is, do not believe it. For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." And by the way, we'll compare Abdullah's so-called miracles to Jesus's in just a minute. But the point is that biblical illiteracy doesn't just leave people uninformed. It leaves them unarmed, unable to notice how false prophets use Bible-sounding language. Again you mentioned earlier this term which is the gift of discernment but twist it with foreign meaning. So the Christians believe that Jesus Christ is one of three. They believe that he is the Holy Spirit. We know that the Holy Spirit descended upon um particular people like it doesn't even need verses to prove whether or not they have the gift of discernment or not. I mean, a very clear proof and evidence that Christians do not have the Holy Spirit with him is slavery in the United States. I mean, just think about what he says here: "I am Abdullah, this the successor of Jesus Christ." But if you're familiar with the New Testament, then you know just how wild of a statement this is because scripture is clear. Jesus doesn't need a successor. He's alive, reigning, and returning.
Okay, so at this point some of you might be wondering, once you strip away all of the noise, the claims, and the imposters, how can we know that Jesus wasn't just another imposter of his day, no different than Abdullah? Well, first listen to these viral claims from Abdullah's followers: "I witnessed him use me as a vessel to bring my dad back to life. I saw him cure me of an illness that the doctors couldn't cure. I saw him sustain countless people like Jesus did for many years. I witnessed he made the moon disappear. I saw him resurrect my wife from the dead." Okay, so when I first saw this clip, my first thought was if Abdullah really brought back someone from the dead or made the moon disappear, then his followers wouldn't be sitting stiff inside of a studio, reciting lines without emotion. They'd be shouting it from the rooftops. I mean, in the Gospels, when Jesus healed someone, the news spread like wildfire, which is also evidenced by how significantly Jesus changed the entire region at that time. Jesus left a massive imprint on people. Mark 1:45 says, "One man that Jesus healed began to talk freely about it and spread the news so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town." And by the way, one common theme in a lot of these false prophets is that they're incredibly insecure. They don't invite scrutiny. They deflect it with things like this: "Uh, if I'm the antichrist, then there's not anything that anybody can do about it. What will happen if you are wrong, and I'm not the antichrist, is that it will be you that's standing naked in front of God on judgment day. And if you are slandering somebody who's innocent, you will be the one who will reap the result of those actions." Now, think about that. That's not spiritual confidence. That's manipulation. It's a kind of rhetoric designed to silence critics rather than engaging with truth.
But to be fair, Abdullah does make a reasonable point when he says, "Every divinely appointed prophet or messenger has a job, and their job is to lead people to God." And he's sort of right because that's what makes Jesus so unique. Every other religion says, "I'm a prophet or a messenger or a guru here to help you find God." But only in Christianity does Jesus say, "I'm God. Come to find you." That's one massive difference. And here's why we should believe it. The resurrection isn't just a theological or religious claim. It's a historical one. One that's backed by multiple lines of evidence that even virtually all secular scholars accept. The first is that Jesus was publicly crucified. No credible historian denies this. And Roman execution wasn't something that you survived. Even the Jewish historian Josephus in 93 AD as well as the Roman historian Tacitus who also is no friend to Christians confirmed this. Second, 3 days later, the tomb was empty. Jesus's enemies at that time admitted that much. They just claimed that the disciples stole the body. But think about that. If there was still a body, Christianity would have been crushed instantly. This fact is also confirmed by prominent atheist historians like Michael Grant. Third, hundreds of people claimed to see Jesus alive again. And these weren't anonymous rumors. Paul, writing less than 20 years later, names witnesses, essentially saying, "Go ask them for yourself." Critical scholars widely agree that one of the earliest creeds recorded by Paul was already circling widely within a few years of the crucifixion and was based on eyewitness testimony of those who claimed to have seen the risen Jesus. And fourth, the people who claimed to see him didn't just write about it. They were willing to die for it even though they had nothing of this world to gain. They wouldn't get any money, sex, power, or fame. All they had to look forward to was being imprisoned, beaten, and eventually executed. Even the famous agnostic historian Bart Ehrman confirms this.
Okay, so think about what this means. While these facts are attested by multiple sources and neutral scholars, the claims from people like Abdullah don't even come close to that kind of verification. So when people say, "well Abdullah is claiming miracles, too," you've got to ask, where is the weight of the evidence? Where is the empty tomb? Where are these hundreds of eyewitnesses? And what's the cost? So even if Abdullah's so-called miracle of causing the Pope's death was legitimate, that still wouldn't prove that he was sent by God. Again, Jesus said that false prophets would perform signs and wonders and we shouldn't believe them. And we can believe Jesus not just because he predicted this kind of deception, but because he proved his identity by rising himself from the dead in a glorified body. He proved once and for all that he is the truth and no one comes to the father except through him.
