Hey guys, welcome to Silicon Valley Girl. This is a very honest video. I'm just going to show you my gross revenue from YouTube views. If you're interested, continue watching. Continue watching. [Music] [Music]

I decided to go all honest in this video because a lot of bloggers just chat about whatever they're making on YouTube, but they never talk about the real numbers. And I'm here to inspire; I'm here to teach you; I'm here to discover new opportunities for you. And I hope this video makes you realize that in order to make good money, you don't have to follow a standard path.

Because when I was around 21 years old, I came to a person who I really respect, and he's a he's from this corporate world. And I told him my goal is to make like 30 or $40,000 a month. And he was like, "But where are you relating to that goal? Where are you right now? You haven't started your corporate career yet. What you need to do is identify companies that actually pay their top management like 30, 40, or more thousand dollars a month, and then start with a lower level in that company, and then you're gonna climb the corporate ladder, and someday you're gonna reach the top." And I immediately, from his words, I understand this is not my way; this is not something I want to do. I want this creativity; I want something different. And those were the days when I understood I wanted to be an entrepreneur. YouTube came a little later, but I think on YouTube you're also known for—in your—cuz you're managing your revenue; you're managing your views; you're managing product placements. And by the way, the numbers that I'm gonna show you do not include product placements or courses I sell. So this is just purely based on YouTube. Let's take a look at Silicon Valley Girl channel, the one that you're watching right now. Actually, one of my favorite channels, and I run three of them. I run Silicon Valley Girl; it's a little less than a year old. Around Lingua Marina, which is almost three years old; it's 1.4 million followers approximately. And I also run Marina McGill Cove, which is my Russian channel, and it has a little over nine hundred thousand followers.

Okay, here we are, my stats for the past 28 days. You know what impresses me on this channel, Silicon Valley Girl? Look at this number. This is approximately how much I'm getting per thousand views; it's almost ten dollars, which is like a lot. Due to pace, you depending on where the audience is watching from. So you can be like anywhere in the world, but if people from America watch you, people from Australia watch you, you're gonna get more money compared to people watching you from like India or Pakistan. You get less money for those viewers because advertisers pay less in those countries. And the amount of money you're getting also depends a lot on the topic that you're talking about, because advertisers are willing to pay for people who are interested in business—like Silicon Valley Girl—they're willing to pay a lot for your attention. But when we're talking about like, you know, entertainment videos that are watched by maybe kids who don't have a lot of money to purchase things online or to buy products for some companies, advertisers pay less for the attention of those people. So I hope it clears out how things work. So basically, here we go. In the past 28 days, I was able to make $2,800. It's right here. There is something happening in these two days; I don't have revenue for these. Today's gonna be added later, so it's probably gonna grow to like 2900, maybe $3,000 for the past month. And that's for approximately 500,000 views. What I like to look at is actually top-earning videos. You know, sometimes you make a video, and then you realized it made like over time. For example, we can we can actually see like last 365 days. Let's see what's the top-earning video. Like 8 most profitable business ideas—already six thousand dollars. I didn't have any idea when I was shooting this video how much money I would be able to make off of it. And if seems like some videos where people show their income and they're making like a million dollars off the video, like this is crazy. Some videos make like two thousand; some videos make less. But let's go back to the past 28 days. I also like to see how my revenue grows. Normally, it grows together with the channel. Sometimes there are spikes; sometimes it goes down, like really depends on the seasonality and stuff. But here we see that Silicon Valley Girl has been steadily growing from like $1,000 in December to already $3,000 in April. I hope this trend continues.

Let's watch more Silicon Valley Girl before I move on to my 1.4 million followers channel, which is a lot older than Silicon Valley Girl, has a lot more views. I wanted to share something with you: I'm launching a 14-day YouTube challenge where I'm gonna teach you how to start on YouTube, because I know it's overwhelming. You're like, "Oh my god, I have no one to talk to, no one around me as a YouTuber." And I was in the same situation, so I decided to make this challenge because also a lot of people like, "I want to start on YouTube," but they never started. So the goal of this challenge is that you take those 14 days, you listen to a short lecture every day about how to start a channel. I'm gonna teach you how to create thumbnails, how to edit videos, how to select a topic for your vlog—like there is a thought process on how do you decide which topic would perform better, both for you and your viewers. How do you select the right title? How do you select the right description? How do you upload a video to YouTube? I'm gonna talk about like all of those channel setup basics. And if you do all the homework, you're gonna graduate with a channel that is ready, that it's out there. You're gonna graduate with a video that is already published. You're gonna know how to reply to comments. I'm gonna teach you everything, and then we're gonna make a plan for the next like three or four videos. And there's also gonna be a live stream at the end of the course; you would be able to ask me questions. This is something I'm very, very excited about. We're giving a discount in the next couple of days; the link is below. The discount is limited, and the places on the course are limited; we're only taking 250 people this time. The link is below. I'm looking forward to seeing you on the course.

Let's move on to Lingua Marina channel. Okay, now here we see a completely different picture. You see CPM; it's twice as low as Silicon Valley Girl; it's five dollars, which is not bad, which is like I would say this is average for YouTube. But I wasn't able to get like four thousand dollars in the past. It's not only I'm like really impressed by the money I can still make out of it; it's just comparing to Silicon Valley Girl, this is like a little like down-shifting or whatever. Again, two days I'm missing; I'm gonna get probably like three hundred dollars more. It's a little more than four thousand dollars, but you see this channel has a different seasonality. Who look at December and January? January, because this channel is about languages, I feel that people are making so many New Year's resolutions like, "I'm gonna start changing my life starting like January," and they're starting to watch my videos in December, and then my December income is spiking—like seven thousand, seven thousand—and then, you know, it gradually goes down again. As I mentioned, it's up and down all the time. Maybe I make another viral video in the next couple of weeks, and this changes completely. Let's look at the top-performing videos. I was still lifetime; my top-paying video on this channel is 10 high-paying jobs you can learn and do from home—$8,000. Again, I had no idea that it was gonna make so much money off of that video. Wow. By the way, brand names had a lot more views than the high-paying job. So I think brand names like for a million views; high-paying jobs like 1 million. But again, a different audience is watching brand names—like probably everyone is watching—like kids, people from different backgrounds. But with high-paying jobs, you get motivated people who are interested in business, probably already making some money, so advertisers want to target them. This is like a really, really cool thing to remember. And let's just compare—like I know a lot of people speak two languages—and I was just talking to my Yuko yesterday. When you—cos a local Silicon Valley blogger—and she speaks Japanese, and like you should start a vlog in Japanese, just because the audience is is so different. And I love my Russian language blog because, you know, it's just connecting with people who I grew up with. Let's just take a look at the revenue. Russia is on average like a cheaper country, and things cost cheaper there compared to America, so it's natural that the CPM is the lowest here; it's 2.7 dollars per thousand views. And with 1.3 million views, I was able to get around $1,800. It's growing because I just made a video on my Russian channel about talking about my YouTube income, and you see how the revenue grew cuz people started watching. And let's again let's take a look at the top-earning video. We won't beat any of the videos. Yeah, we won't be able—so there is like most used words in English—we're not able to beat any of the videos that we've mentioned on the other channels—$2,600. That said, they see again the revenues fluctuating. I like 3600 in December, and then it's gradually going down. My advice to you, if you want to start on YouTube, today's the best day. It's gonna be late in the year; it's gonna be late in two years. So if you kept this—there is something just inside of you that's gonna be like, "I want to share this; I can make it better"—but the worst thing you can do is waste your energy on like hating other vloggers. I've recently talked to a blogger who she has like five hundred thousand followers on YouTube; she's very successful because she told me that three years ago she was this little hater who was sitting and hating other—especially beauty bloggers—because they were getting all this like makeup for free; they were living a life, going to Coachella, getting sponsored trips and stuff. She was so jealous that she didn't have this lifestyle, so she just hated people online. And then suddenly she realized this is not the best use of her energy because she could have invested this energy into creating something; it's gonna teach other people and inspire other people. And this way she became a beauty blogger and living a life, you know, just published a book and traveling around the world. So I'm super glad she was able to make this conversion from like being a hater to being a YouTuber. And now you guys, so we're sitting out there and who are shy to start, and we're gonna talk about that in the course; who are struggling with maybe like friends judging or parents judging, we're gonna talk about that as well. I just want to give you this chance; this can be life-changing, life-changing. You can be this; you can be like me in two or three years. It's gonna take a while, but if it's something you want to do, you'll just come to it. Thank you so much for watching this video.
