Hi everybody, welcome back. Thanks for joining me for another royal news video. So, we've got lots of festive fun from our real royals. We've got some ex-royal news from Montecito. I'll push them further down the video, back where they belong. Although, I wouldn't say their news is so much festive.
You won't be shocked to hear that Harry and Meghan are still throwing their weight around, still getting government officials to get involved in business that I really do not think they should. And I don't think Meghan is going to be on Santa's nice list. In fact, I don't think Meghan's going to be on anyone's nice list with her latest actions towards her father.
But before we get on to them, let's talk about the real royals. Let's start off with the Prince of Wales, who paid a visit to the First Battalion, Welsh Guards, of which he assumed the role of Colonel a couple of years ago after his father became the King and William stepped into his role as the Prince of Wales. The Welsh Guards were holding their annual Christmas party and certainly seemed happy to be joined by the future King, who was photographed laughing and sharing a beer or two with the men and women of his company. After the visit, Prince William posted on social media, "Happy Christmas to the Welsh Guards. Proud to be Colonel of the regiment and to serve Puddin to the junior ranks this year. A huge thank you to the soldiers and their families of the Welsh Guards for everything that you do." I can imagine that would probably be a bit of a shock to the system. There you are, sitting at your Christmas party, and then you have the future King, the Prince of Wales, serving up your Christmas pudding.
Onto our next bit of royal news, and one that often makes me cry. I'm not going to lie, I cried when I was looking through the photos and the video footage, but it's such a beautiful event hosted by Queen Camilla that she does each year and supported by the Helen Douglas House, which is a children's hospice, and the Roald Dahl Fund, another incredible charity that supports seriously ill children in the UK. Each year, the Queen invites children and their families and carers to come along to meet Father Christmas, who, of course, brings his reindeer for the very, very special visit. They get to enjoy music. They get to enjoy games, and they get to have a special lunch, which the Queen herself helps serve up. But my favorite bit each year is when each young visitor is allowed to select a special ornament, laid out on a table, to be placed on the Christmas tree, which is done in the coolest way possible, and that's with a sword and the help of the Queen's Equerry. This year, the Queen actually had both Equerries with her. That's because they were in the crossover of one leaving and one joining. Equerries change over every three years, and they go back to their regiments wherever they are serving, unless, of course, you know, maybe they've retired or something. But Major Olly Plunkett, we say goodbye to another very, very handsome Equerry. And we are now welcoming into the royal fold, Major Rob Treasure. The King and Queen publicly thanked Major Plunkett, and he was invested with the Royal Victorian Order for his dedicated service. I think it's lovely that they have rewarded him in such a way. And as for this event that she does every year, oh, I cannot imagine. The Queen is often caught, you know, with a tear in her eye. These children and their families are just so brave. And it really is one of those moments every year where you just think to yourself, there we are complaining because they, they can't, we can't work out what to buy for someone, or we're stressed about money or something. And then you see these incredible children that have got so much courage, and watch their eyes and their faces light up when they see Father Christmas and the Christmas tree and the presents. And it just makes it so beautiful, and it just makes you try and shake your head, give your head a wobble every so often, and get your life into perspective. I love the fact that Queen Camilla hosts this and and does something so special for the children and their families each year.
Now, moving away before I start welling up. Sorry, guys, can't help it. We need to talk about. We're talking about Ollie, Major Ollie Plunkett, getting invested with the Royal Victorian Order for his dedicated service. We need to talk about someone that, um, was awarded something that I cannot believe that she went after the hoo-ha that she created. So, you guys must know who this is, right? Adjoa Andoh. She, I loved her in Bridgerton as Lady Danbury, but she did something that made her slightly infamous. And this is smack bang in the middle. She decided to say something deemed by many as race-baiting. It was completely uncalled for and rather ridiculous. But she was on ITV's sofa, and it was in the middle of the King's Coronation. And then when the royal family came out on the balcony, they were going to their guests. She was sat alongside Miley Cyrus, and they were asking her, you know, for her thoughts on it. And she came out with this: "We went from the rich diversity of the Abbey to a terribly white balcony. Terribly white. Our royal family were not just white, a terribly white balcony." I'm sorry, the people like Adjoa Andoh think that the royal family, when they start dating and courting and having girlfriends and boyfriends, they now have to go through a DEI checklist. "Oh, sorry, you're white. I can't date you." But what has made her look like a complete and utter hypocrite? Obviously, it affected her so much that she felt that was the appropriate time and place to do it. She's gone and got an MBE, and it was bestowed on her by our terribly white future King. Obviously, the backlash was pretty epic. Lots of people were talking about it on social media, but it's the utter hypocrisy. No shocker that she's a Meghan Markle supporter, but what a thing to come out with, to do that in the middle of the King's Coronation, this huge global event, and you used your moment on the sofa to obviously do some sort of big, epic race-baiting thing, which everybody was talking about. But perhaps maybe that's the thing with certain people like this, that they deliberately do it to make everybody talk about them, because quite clearly she doesn't have that much of a problem. I don't know what's more embarrassing, what she said on the sofa, or actually being stood there in the castle holding up her MBE from our terribly white royal family. Honestly.
Now, moving away from hypocritical actresses, let's talk about the Princess of Wales, who on the 13th of December, Catherine paid a visit to a very special and poignant rose garden. Originally created in 2019 by Anna Hyde-March and writer Camilla Morton, alongside the Royal Marsden Charity, the garden features over 30,000 white roses that become illuminated at night, creating a stunning remembrance garden. This year, the garden was moved from Grosvenor Square to the Duke of York Square in Chelsea due to an ongoing woodland transformation project, and it was still just as beautiful as every year previously. Each rose is a dedication to someone who has lost their life due to cancer by members of the public. It offers a beautiful place of remembrance to those that are no longer here with us. Over £1.6 million has been raised to go towards the Royal Marsden Hospital, of which Catherine is joint patron alongside Prince William, which was announced earlier this year, and it is also where Catherine received her cancer treatment. The Princess said, "Thank you to all of those who have contributed to the Ever After Garden, which raises vital funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Every flower, every light is a memory held together, an illumination of shared love, remembrance, and hope." Catherine also left a handwritten marker amongst the roses that read, "In loving memory of all those who have lost their lives to cancer." I never knew about the garden until Catherine went again, showing that royal appearances really do literally shine a light on projects, charity events, fundraisers, and organizations, etc., that perhaps we may not necessarily have heard of. Perhaps they haven't received the coverage that they deserve. Now that I know that this garden exists, I will be partaking in buying a rose and dedicating it to a friend of mine who I lost a few years ago. I think this is really, really special, and it reminds me of all the hard work that goes into the poppy displays that they have with Remembrance Weekend. I will never forget the moment that I saw all of the poppies pouring out of the Tower of London. Again, the volunteers that help with this, and this particular garden had over 400 volunteers making this incredibly special and stunning garden come to life.
Now, whilst we're talking about cancer, on the 12th of December, we did have the good news. The King appeared on Stand Up to Cancer, where he revealed that as of the new year, he will be reducing his cancer treatments. He said that the good news was thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention, and adherence to doctor's orders. Although, our dear Queen Camilla has a word or two to say about that, as it was revealed that she had quite the battle with her husband trying to get him to slow down after his diagnosis. The King said that the milestone was not just a personal blessing but also testament to the remarkable advances that have been made in cancer treatment in recent years. A few people started panicking when it said the King was going to make an announcement. I think certain people were whipping up a frenzy, but the fact that it was Stand Up to Cancer, I don't think that he was going to be making a public declaration that he was stepping down or something. As well as sharing the good news about his own health, he also thanked all the nurses, doctors, researchers, and the whole caring community that surrounds cancer patients. But he also added a very important message in his speech where he said he was shocked to find out that there are over 9 million people that are overdue for their cancer screenings, and urged people to make sure that they get checked, as early detection is what made his own illness much more treatable. And since his speech, there has been a surge in people booking appointments and website traffic on a lot of the screening websites. I think that this is an incredibly important message, and I'm glad that his words have had an impact. Yes, it's not always easy to get a doctor's appointment, but early detection is the difference of saving your life.
Now, as for the King appearing on Stand Up to Cancer, obviously, we were told about this before it aired. So if we knew about it, the two in Montecito would know about it. So of course, they have managed to time an announcement of theirs, which when you think that Harry is still trying to pedal that he wants to make up with his father, it again reinforces that I do not believe that is true. I did read in one newspaper that royal sources close to the family, it's all sources, but I guess they can't give up who it is saying it, but they say that the King hasn't spoken to Harry since he saw him in September. I am inclined to believe that to be true because he cannot trust him. Let's not forget Harry's face when he left that last meeting, and also every single detail of that meeting, including gifts exchanged, what Harry ate, what cake was served for him, all made it out, didn't it, into the public sphere. So Harry proved without a doubt that he cannot be trusted with even the tiniest of details. So this announcement that they decided to time with the King talking, well, his statement to do with obviously his own cancer journey, it's about Harry and Meghan executively producing, which is code for they're just sticking their names onto somebody else's project. A story to do with Girl Scouts. And people on social media were quick to post the thanks to the people that did create the film, that directed it, all of the people that have done all of the hard work. And then right at the very end, you get a wholehearted welcome to Girl Scouts alumna Meghan and the Archwell troop joining our team as executive producers ahead of the Sundance Film Festival. It quite clearly shows that they are someone that's coming in at the very end. And I don't doubt for a second that if it's actually well-received and the show goes down brilliantly, then Harry and Meghan will then swoop on in to try and take all of the credit for it. And Meghan timed it obviously with the release of some photographs because Meghan was a Girl Scout. Meghan used to sell cookies. And she even said in the blurb, "I have a personal affinity to the project." Yes, of course you do, Meghan. Why would Meghan suddenly have a personal affinity to the Girl Scouts? Is it just by chance? Just by a small smidgen because Catherine is patron of the Scouts in the UK, recently appeared with Melania with the US state visit, has done lots of events and appearances with the Scouts, and of course, even including her family where we saw Princess Charlotte and Louis making smalls. Sure, you could turn around and say, "Oh, come on. It's just a coincidence." You know, Meghan was actually a Girl Scout, but there's been an awful lot of coincidences to this point. Sorry.
Meghan compares herself to a Disney princess and compares her to like a Disney film life. I actually don't think of Disney when I think of her. I think of more of the '90s serial, um, not serial killer films, but the, you know, the psychological thrillers, especially with her obsession over the Princess of Wales. I think, you know, a little bit Fatal Attraction, a little bit of Single White Female, and a sprinkling, I'd say, because she's so obsessed with pretending to be her dead mother-in-law. I get psycho vibes. I often do wonder, and I've said to you guys, I wonder if Harry's ever slipped up and actually called her Mommy once or twice. Who knows? Perhaps that's the games they play. All I will say is her behavior is somewhat unhinged and chilling at times. And the way she's treated her father recently has chilled a lot of people to the core because she showed herself yet again as being completely mercenary and devoid of, of any compassion whatsoever, which couldn't come at a worse time when Meghan is really trying to push herself as she's all about kindness, love, where she often talks about being kind to one another and sharing hot drinks with that person that you love, that person that means so much to you. It's all in the details of just showing what a lovely person that you are. And yet, she is going for an award of worst daughter of the year at this rate. Her insistence on making a public spectacle over this whole latest letter scenario with her dad has definitely backfired on her because people can see the hypocrisy. She's briefing the press saying, "My family are the ones, the Daily Mail are the ones, everybody's responsible for dragging this into the public domain," as she gives another press release. She's the one that told the world, or her spokesperson did, that Thomas Markle had even received a letter, that he was getting a letter, that he'd received the letter. She's also now divulged, I think it was to The Times, that Thomas Markle hasn't responded to her letter, and you think to yourself, but you're literally the person that's putting this all in the public domain yet again. The Times newspaper has also now been informed that the contents of the letter was Meghan admonishing her father after he gave several interviews to the media, and she has blamed him for the breakdown in their relationship. Wow. I mean, he's just nearly died. He had a blood clot, and to save his life, they've had to cut off, they've had to amputate parts of his leg. And Meghan finally reaches out to him. Reaches out, as the newspapers said, and she has attacked him. She has turned around and accused him of being completely responsible for, for this fallout between them. Calling him out for having a friendship with a member of the press, given the amount of information that they gave to Omid Scobie, who Meghan actually brought into royal circles so he'd report favorably on her. It's completely hypocritical. From what I'm seeing, it's Meghan that is giving the press releases through her spokesperson throughout every single tiny step since the moment that it was revealed that Thomas was in hospital, to getting this letter delivered to him. How would Roya Nikkhah of The Times have this information if it wasn't Meghan giving it to her? Take for example, the arrival of said letter. He had to sign legal documentation. This is all comes from Caroline Graham, who is the Daily Mail reporter that's been by Thomas's side because she's fought back with the accusations that she was being unethical. Well, she's fired back and gone, "You think this is unethical? Look what his own daughter has done to him." Thomas, recovering from surgery, has had officials come over to him, walk into his room, to the point people have had to cover his, his leg, made him sign documentation to say, "A letter is coming your way. You need to sign all this legal paperwork to say that you will accept it." Of course, Thomas is going to accept it. Is this, this is the first time that he's had anything from his daughter who he has begged and pleaded with for so long. And this time might have been the time in his mind that she was finally going to go, "Daddy, I'm sorry. Let's make up. You know, life is too short." Oh, no. Not Meghan at all. When the letter arrived, she got it recorded. The video footage was then sent back to Meghan. So, she's got people to come in in this undignified moment, this emotional thing for Thomas, film him receiving this letter, which must have left him completely shaken with nerves, to have it sent back to her. And what did, what was in that letter? She basically just dear-johned him. Oh, I'd like you to film the moment that my father's heart crumples into a million pieces. And then it's revealed that Meghan has no intentions whatsoever of ever seeing her father or even speaking to him. The fact that she's been given his telephone number again doesn't matter. She will not be calling him. She wants nothing to do with him, and quite clearly told him so in the letter. I think it shows it's reminded the world how mercenary and cold she could be. But I would even throw in a word as there as evil. I mean, wait till he's come out of hospital. Pick up the phone. There's a thousand and one ways that she could have handled it. But to do this, and then to tell the public that she has no intention of speaking to him ever again, after perhaps giving him that glimmer of hope when he signed that paperwork, thinking that he was finally going to have an opportunity with her, and she's probably just broke whatever last bits of his heart he had left. It's almost like Meghan actually gets enjoyment out of hurting elderly people. Meghan, of course, has every right not to speak to her father. This is her personal relationship with her dad. Families are very complicated, and it seems the Markle clan is definitely complex. But Meghan deserves the criticism that she's attracted here because she is the one that put it into the public domain. That she was going to reach out to him, that she wrote him a handwritten letter, the contents of the letter, when the letter was delivered to him, the fact that he has yet to respond to the letter, and then she went public by stating that she's not going to call him. She has no intentions of reconciling with him whatsoever. If she hadn't have put that in the letter, that would have been another beautiful way for Thomas Markle to find out his daughter's true feelings. Meghan did reach out, but she's reached out in the form of a press release. And to me, I think she's done everything that she can to further vilify and hurt her father.
So, as for Meghan being on Santa's naughty list, I think that she treats people so bad that she wouldn't even make it to the naughty list. There is another type of list for people like Meghan, and it's not a very good one. But anyway, guys, on that note, I will be back with you very soon.
