Would you become rich by selling ice cream in ancient Egypt?
Day one, you show up in Egypt with milk, honey, and a block of ice. It's 45°. People are frying eggs on sandstone. You hand a cup to a merchant. He's never tasted anything cold in his entire life. Nobody here has. You sell out in 20 minutes.
Day two, word spreads about the frozen honey. A priest buys six cups and tells everyone that God sent you. You don't correct him. That's free marketing.
Day three, a tax collector shows up. How many cups do you sell per day? >> You say five. He looks at the line of 60 people and says nothing. You hand him a free cup. He takes a bite, closes his eyes, and walks away.
Day four, the ice is melting. You find a potter and describe a cooling system. Clay inside clay with wet sand between them. He thinks you're a god.
Day five, festival by the Nile. Thousands of sweaty Egyptians. You sell 500 cups. Zero competition. Zero health inspections.
Day six. The pharaoh summons you. His food taster tries it first. Eyes go wide. The pharaoh takes one bite. He nods once. You're set for life.
