今日、2週間前の抽選会で、皆さんが対戦相手を見て「これは絶対いい勝負になる」と思った時、張本選手はどの結果を見た時の感想はいかがでしたか？
ま、そうですね。正直を言えば、まあ、1回戦に1番強い選手が入ってきたので、ま、少し難しい戦いになるかなって予想はありましたけど、ま、2週間の時間があったのでしっかり対策の練習もできましたし、対策だけではなく自分を通す練習もしっかりできたので、ま、結局世界選手権誰にでも勝たなきゃいけないので本当にドローは気にせず、え、練習してこれれたかなと思います。
Well, when I saw the draw results, I'm like, I'm going to face a strong opponent in the first round. I anticipated a difficult match. However, I had two weeks to prepare. So, I took that time to strategize. Also, I did a lot of training to help me give a stronger performance. And I think to have good results as a world championships, you need to be able to defeat any player you meet. So, I approach them regardless of the draw results. So, you must feel relieved.
今の試合を勝って今はなんかちょっと楽という気持ちになりますとかなんか大会が始まる前なんかドローの結果を見たい、あ、なんかこういう作戦で、ま、こういう目標をして試合をするという感想と考えとかありましたか？
今日勝っても全く気持ちは変わりませんね。ただベスト64、ラウンド64に入っただけで、次も、ま、64に入る選手は64にいるので全く関係ないと思います。次も同じ気持ちでもう大会前から1試合1試合全力で1つずつ勝つって気持ちで望んでるので、はい。今日勝ったからと言って何か特別な変化は全くないです。

これからの試合に向けてなんか今回来て、ま、まずなんか気持ちの面はいかがですか？そしてあの今後の試合を見てなんか何が目標とかなんかここに行きたいという気持ちとかありますか？
そうですね。ドハに来てからもうしっかり練習を積んで、ま、日本にいる時とあんまり変わら、変わらない状況、ま、調子を維持できてるのですごくはい。悪くない状態だと思います。うん。目標っていうのはあんまり決めてないです。シングルスもダブルスも1試合ずつ1試合でも勝つ、え、というのもしてるので、え、まずは今日のダブルス、そして明日以降のシングルス、ダブルス頑張っていきたいです。
After I arrived in Doha, I had a lot of training and practice. Basically, nothing really changed compared to when I was in Japan, and I have been maintaining a very good status as I had in Japan.
