Now, before we get started, guys, I just wanted to let you know what you're about to watch. Um, I have done at this point over 1,500 interviews in my podcasting career and, uh, over 600 on Next Level Soul. And the guest you're about to see, uh, his name is Guru Nath. and uh he his energy um as a walking spiritual master uh in the room was something I have never felt before. I'm still kind of dealing with him. He literally just left and I'm recording this uh as a beginning of this interview. So, this transmission, this conversation is charged with an amazing energy that um I hope you guys feel as well. Some will feel it, some won't, and that's fine. and we discussed that actually in the conversation, but this is one of the more powerful interviews I've had on the show. Um, it moved me almost to tears at moments and uh I think it's going to really help a lot of people out there.
So sit back and enjoy this new age that you're speaking of. Is that what we are all going through as humanity right now? It is said that this young boy khali at the age of 25 to 28 will declare the satya yoke the golden age. They will be bumpy and they will be for but the bumpiness will tend towards a settlement. This being is called the nameless one. He is called the non-being essentiality. Mhm. And he is called he about whom not may be said and he is called simply Shiv Gorak Sha Baba Gi by his intense concentration has accelerated the yogas and brought upon us in the very new future the satya. Earth peace shall not come about by United Nations organization. Earth peace shall come about by United minds organization.

Now before we jump into this episode, if this conversation resonates with you, please like, subscribe, and share this with whoever you feel that needs to hear it. Your support helps us keep bringing this information out into the world and helps us awaken this planet. Thank you. I'd like to welcome to the show Yogi Raj. How you doing, Yogi Rash? Yes, I'm doing well. Thank you so much for for making the trip all the way from India to Austin um to visit me. I I truly am honored and and it's a privilege having you in the studio. Um I am so looking forward to our conversation because I have um I have studied a lot in and uh yoga nandanda's work and ka yoga um and I'm fascinated with Baba G as he's in the middle of all of the ascended masters there uh as as well as all the other masters that I have around us. Um my very first question to you uh Yogi Raj is I've always said that when you are becoming a spiritual going on an a level of enlightenment self-realization going on the spiritual path um Buddha uh yogaandanda they're they're very much monklike um but you are likely here in Mahashai who had a family had have a wife have a child um because I always said if you want to truly test how enlightened you or spend a weekend with your family. You have been able to do the work that you're doing as a spiritual master uh while being married. How marrying and have a a family and raise a family. How are you able to do that? How can you balance the real world with the spiritual path that you're on? Because it seems like it should be one or the other, but you've been able to balance the two. So, what advice do you have for people of that want to go down this path?
Be like Lahi Mahasaya. Mhm. Be a householder and yet achieve the goal. And Baba Gi Maharaj Yogtar Lahir Mahasaya. Mhm. And Ghana Utar Sri Yukteshwar. Mhm. have always wanted to send to this world householder yogis. After the great work of course Parman Yogaandanda did which he showed that a celabite and a brahmachari can also attain to enlightenment and a householder yogi can also attain to enlightenment. And therefore they sent a householder yogi amongst all you people to show them no excuses. I have a wife. My children are going to school. I'm going to get my daughter married. It'll all happen. Take it in your stride. But don't leave your one or 3 hours of isolation, your solitude with the divine. Use utilize one hour at least and many more if you can for your communion with your divine indweller.
Beautiful. And so in meditation many times you could do it in meditation the hour the 3 hours in meditation to be connected with the divine. In meditation you don't connect with the divine indweller. Okay. To connect with the indweller you have to go to a state of samadhi. How do you get there? A state of samadhi to put it in layman's language is a thoughtfree state of tranquil awareness where there is not a single ripple of thought in your mind's lake and I always tell my disciples the advanced ones hold your silence stillness still if you hold your silence You cannot see the divine indweller. You cannot become one with him. If you hold your silence and become still, you cannot be one with the divine indweller. If you hold your silence and stillness still, then you become one with your divine indweller because you are bereft of all thought. And when all thought disappears, consciousness appears which is another name for atma or the divine indweller. So you have to be in a state of nirvikalp samadhi. Mhm. You can also be in a state of sraat samadhi which is sabikalp samadhadi and get a vision of the lord of your divine indweller but through the transparent glass the mirror of your mind. So you and sabikalp samadhi as long as the mirror of the mind prevails the glass once you break the mirror of the mind there's no support and nothing to hold on then you transit from sabikalp to nirvikalp samadhi or in yogic palance as we say from sraat to asamraat samadhi srraat means having knowledge of everything in the world all that there is is me the birds, the bees, the sky, the trees, the plant, the leaves. I vibrate in everything in creation. But when you go beyond all of this is me, that is the last and final state of the mind, last and final state of the cosmic ego. When that evolves and you know that even the state of all that there is is me is but a very very very fine film of matter. When the last veil is removed you enter from sraat to assumpat. Samadhadi the samadi beyond human knowledge and mind pure consciousness which we know as God permatma ishwar or the reality as I call it. Mhm. The reality I have described you to you the soul. Mhm. That it is a thought-free state of tranquil awareness. The description in common man's language of the paramatma supreme spirit or god is that it is an allervading consciousness of stillness through eternity composed of nothing yet of which all else is sure composed. It stands supreme beyond all dreams eternally reposed. This world our sages did perceive. These are some poems I made to make people understand. Mhm. And describe God in other rather than say the word God. Somebody told me to say God without describe God without saying God. So I said that's not very difficult. This world our sages did perceive as mind stuff materialize in relative sequence. It is built deceiving mortalize. This is Maya. All that is composed they knew. All that is composed they knew must get decomposed. Where then does reality lie? All matter being composed. That means I've eliminated all matter and creation with a stroke of the pen of my realization. All that is composed must get decomposed. Where then does reality lie? All matter being composed. Then I go on to say that all pervading consciousness of stillness through eternity composed of nothing yet of which all else is sure composed. It stands supreme beyond all dreams eternally reposed.
Uh, Yogi Raj, when you when I was reading up on you, I I learned that you became is it enlightened or self-realized at 3 years old or am I or am I misreading that? When did you understand who you were and what your mission was when you to come on this earth?
I was born in a certain state. Call it a normal state. Call it enlightenment. Mhm. call it a partial enlightenment. I started becoming aware of this at the age of three when I used to sit long hours with my grandfather and lose consciousness, lose my mind and awaken in consciousness. But I did not know that this is enlightenment because for me it was a very normal state. a natural state. Every time I meet till this very day when people tell me we are feeling the impact of your transmission, our schizophrenia is cured. You appeared to me in a dream. I was having a dream and I thought I was in a state of samadi. You wiped that state away and brought me to an absolute state of essential non-being. And then I knew so their experience of me gave me as the through the passage of time to know that I am coming to a state of enlightenment because I was very cautious not to declare myself as enlightened or even say the word for fear of the ego interrupting your ego. My ego because the ego never it always lies dormant. It's a very tricky thing the ego and it can arise any time. So I never proclaimed or said that I'm enlightened. There was no reason to say so. I had good friends. I was roaming and behaving with others as a normal guy. You know, cracking my jokes, having my I was in a public school, had good boxing bouts, ran my marathons and did well in class. I used to get a third division. Mhm. I I didn't know why I didn't understand uh mathematics or trigonometry. It was alien to me and I was known as a lagard and a person who was a dreamer because I used to look out of the window and see the nighting gale on the tree outside and become one with it. I used to be wrapped in that awareness. 30 years later I came to know that as a boy of 12 to 15 I was going to a through a state of the samyam of sabikalp samadhi a state of samyam where the subject and object become one but in school they have no such uh inner education of yogic lifestyle. So they called me a dreamer and a lagard. Even even in India where it was the birthplace of this but it was an English public school. I was educated in Sherbet College in an English public school in Nanal. Got it. Okay. So that's why and and a lot of the creme the creme dear creme of India came out of the school. Field marshall Manika was from there. General Bakshi was from there and uh not the one on the TV another one. Then there was Amitab Bachan the great actor. So Kabir Bi all these luminaries came from there and sitting amongst them uh I was quite a lagard because I was going into states beyond mind. My subject was beyond mind. My school taught me about mind. I was not about mind because from my birth I was born in that state. So I was a misfit but I I slowly fit in. I'm still in in contact with my my college friends. They're all these big m generals and all this and we still talk together. still in connection. But that time I got through it and then after that my schooling I went to the Himalayas and my my schooling and learning and meditations in yoga began. I went through it very fast because it was a recapitulation of all my past lives and I quickly went through the stages of dhan dhana you know sabikalp samadhi then to nirvikalp samadhi and I came to know but who will I tell it to and if I tell it to them will they understand will they believe you it's not a question I don't care whether they believe me or not I'm reing in my own inner purity. Fair enough. The essential non-being because I know that behind the fragmented spaceime events of creation lies the all pervading awareness of reality.
Gurunath, one thing I want to ask you is so much is been said of uh the yogic path, the enlightened path from Buddha who found enlightenment under the tree. Um there has been a very uh over the years over over millennia, this kind of romanticizing of enlightenment that once you get there, you're enlightened all the time and you kind of live above the world. you live in it but above it. Um but yet what you're explaining is like I felt the enlightenment. I understood where I was. I understood that I came in in this way and kind of rediscovered what I was doing. But you had boxing matches. You have friends. You you went to college. You lived this was this was the first stages during my unfoldment. When a yogi is reborn, okay, he's reborn into two houses and either the house of a pious and wealthy person or in the house of a pious Brahman family. Mhm. I was born into the house a royal family aristocracy of the Gualier families. We're connected and we are the nobility of Gualier. Mhm. And I had all the facilities at my proposal, big halls, rooms to meditate, silent uh places to meditate. But when you are reborn, you cap recapitulate all what you have done in your past. And then you come to your present. So you go back in time. Like in your last life, if you were a painter, you start doing painting. Mhm. If you loved horse riding, which I did, we you do horse riding. Then you compose poetry like I'm composing poetry spontaneously. Mhm. Uh but after you get over that, you get to your own original state, your inner being. Who is the enlightened being? There's a simple explanation for enlightenment. Mhm. In Patanjali in one word it is said freedom from thought is enlightenment. So simple but yet not so simple. Very true. He has said when all the chitt that means your intellect, your ego and your mind when they are all subdued and silent when you have totally transformed them or and overcome them into a state of pure consciousness. That means when you transit from divine mind, divine mind is a state of chanting, devotion, bacti, doing philosophic things, uh chanting in groups, meditating, having uh lower states of samadhi like having a vision of Krishna. This is all the first stage of mind. Okay. But when you get to divine consciousness, there is nothing to rest that pure consciousness. There is nothing but a vast expanse which is beyond mind and beyond comprehension. Those who tell it know it not and those who know it tell it not. But we can always give pointers which I'm giving to that state. And now the state is where I'm definitely in a state of my own and I'm in the society not over it. I'm like sort of just cruising over it, floating over it. The whole world is like it's like more or less like a dream if I may say so. So what those people said in the final stages it is like that. But you can relate because we have come with a work. We have a work and our mission my soul cry next level of soul is the 11th commandment which I'm telling you about now. Yes. This is the next level of soul that I'm talking to you right now. Okay. If earth peace is to herald the dawn of the new age we must all realize humanity is our uniting religion breath are uniting prayer and consciousness are uniting God. This is the 11th commandment of my organization called the Siddhanath Yog Parumpara. Mhm. Then we have for the people certain sayings what their work should be which is an appendix of the 11th commandment. Mhm. I say we the Hamsa. Hamsa means the soul, the swan. Mhm. The psyche. We the souls, we the hamsas are meditated to the furthering of human awareness. We the hamsas are dedicated to new life awakening for earth peace through self peace. And we the hamsters are devoted to serving humanity as our larger self. All this is the standing platform of the siddhanathyok parumpara and this is the 11th commandment for the new age.
This new age that you're speaking of is that what we are all going through as humanity right now? This kind of upheaval, this kind of chaos, everyone seems to be awakening more and more. These conversations are not in the Himalayan cave anymore. Now they're going to be broadcast to millions. They have to. They have to. It is said that 3 to 400 years ago uh hence at the time when Leo and Aquarius in opposition to one another there should appear the khalki of Dar. But through the great being, this being is called the nameless one. He is called the non-being essentiality. Mhm. And he is called he about whom not may be said. And he is called simply Shiv Gorak Shaabhaba Gi. This Shiv Goraka Baba Gi for short is called Baba Gi. And he by his intense concentrated his concentrated mind by his intense concentration has accelerated the yogas and brought upon us in the very new future the satya yog. The khalki yoga is upon us. Mhm. The khali yog is we are passing through and now at the same time the khalki yog will be over soon because as sria said we are in the dwaper there are cycles within cycles within the khalki is a traa within the traa is a dwaper within the dwaper is a satyog the time for the satyog is to come the minor satyog within the major dwapur and the and the the super kalki so it's all mathematical calculations Wheel within wheel. The khali is already born and in 8 years during which there will be a lot of wars, emotional upheavalss and turmoil amongst societies, chaos. But I personally feel there will not be a world war. But there will be a world warl like situations not one situation more situations which you can see now right but the world is wise enough not to connect and create a world war so there'll be a lot a little little wars like not little big wars Russia Ukraine is a big war right Israel Iran may erupt or just fizzle be a damp squid may fizzle out into a into a treaty but let us see by 20 32. Mhm.
It is said that this young boy Khali at the age of 25 to 28 will declare the satya yoke the golden age. Who is this boy? In 8 years. Is he alive now? Yes, he is alive now. Yes, this is what I said. People have seen this boy. I have personally not seen him. But there is no harm to wish and to think positive. Sure. If we think positive, let's pray that he's there and he will help. He will help guide us and he in 2032 after all this upheaval has come to rest and the gonas are more or less balanced that means he's already working in the turmoil then he will declare the satya yog in 2032. I've heard that from others as well seven years there are the group of the maha prabhu chatanya and of the Krishna group Mhm. who have prophesied this and uh nu 2032 would be a declaration of the beginning of the satyug all has to phase out so a after 2032 that's when things start to improve improve smooth things out a little bit smooth things out and they will be done in a surreal manner not miraculous almost miraculous results will take place posit positively almost miraculous things are happening even now. The the decapitation and the elimination of certain heads of certain terrorist organizations are just going and uh it's is just in a flash. We don't even know. Mhm. Things are changing. Things are changing. But these next seven years are going to be a little bit bumpy. They will be bumpy and they will be for but the bumpiness will tend towards a settlement a quiet and a peace which the prophets the they prophesy that by 1932 it will begin on the upward climb to satyog 20 2032 2032 2032 okay this is the crucial age we people are also working since I sit here before you I have my own work of teaching people kria yog I do not know whether it is uh appropriate for me to declare what I do on this in this public standing but I am a worker amongst waka we will be working with and alongside the divine khalki that's coming our work is more internal we work with the inner government of the world which people here call the white lodge of which the ascended masters are uh a heart and I can uh yes we work at we meet them all the time but uh I will appear to you sometime when in your silence or in your dream and you will know who you have been interviewing and all that but that's a that's a surreal story let's take it as a big joke until I come to you but these people have to make themselves whoever they are maybe there are others like me there's this the gentleman khi they have to reveal themselves. And not only that, they have to show themselves by their work. Right? Not by the words, but not by the words. You want to raise the dead. Lazarus, take up thy bed and walk. Yeah. You have to say that these will be people with power like that. Interesting. And we yogis have been taught not to give people the menu, give them the food, give them the experience. And those who are ready for it, I'm there to give it to them. I guide them physically. I guide them astrally coming in their dreams. No harm. If if we are helping a good cause whatever their religious cast or creed humanity is our uniting religion breath are uniting prayer that is giving kria yog and consciousness are uniting god. I give them the experience of a thought state of tranquil awareness also.
Uh Gurunath I have to ask you um you know one of the big parts of your story on this earth and in this incarnation is meeting Baba Gi. Can you please tell everybody what that experience was like when he came to you and how did it change your life?
If they sit with me in a silent room instead of telling them I can give them an experience of how I felt when I met Baba G. This is a state of samadi which is beyond mind. And how can I with the mind relate to you something which is beyond the mind? I can say it was very nice. The sun was setting and I was on the slopes of the drone giri parvat. And as I turned around from the skies and I heard I saw the setting sun, it went behind the clouds and then suddenly the clouds were removed and the sun the evening twilight sun shone in a beautiful ochre orange casting its lengthening shadows. Mhm. And I said, "Ah, the light has come." And a voice in the firmament answered, "Indeed." And then I was lying on my back. Then I turned around onto my stomach and prostrated and I said, "Who art thou?" And the non-being essentiality. Shiv Gorak Shaabaji said that which thou thinkst me to be that I am to thee. I a share I am that I am. This is a a short glimpse. I can't explain the deeper experiences because there are no words. I've done my a feeble attempt in my documentary film Mhm. The wings to freedom. Mhm. But uh it's it doesn't justify the experience which I had.
You were crying in that. I remember watching that. You teared up when you were It was that was a a a very important cave. One of the caves where I met him. But um yes, you cannot hold the voltage of the being. This being is so powerful. I was the first one to give a most definitive experience of Baba Gi a thick book which I've written called the lightning standing still. Mhm. When yogaandanda was born his parents Bhagwati go Mhm. and his mother used to visit a temple regularly. They were situated in the time of uh in the in the city and town of Gorakpur. Mhm. There was a temple of Goraknath. It's still there which yoga has where they used to meditate fervently and ask for a child and uh their first child was born to them in Maja. It's mentioned I think they named him after Goraknath. They called him Gora. Gora. Mhm. So Goraknath. Then the second child was born. He Baba G had mentioned formerly and Sri Yuktasar had also known that a child and a disciple would come who would be like a big steam engine and take thousands of people in America to liberty and liberation and mo which he has done. And after that he told his master in incinators look master I'm here by your grace but you are in your little room over there meditating in saramur at your ashram or jaganatpuri and look at me the air that moment the face of sritotishar filled the skies and he said my son you are watching it from planet earth I'm watching it from all space I'm watching I'm enjoying the freedom of old space. So these masters are ever alive and moving around and you will get to know them soon. Continuing this that Shri Yoganandu was given this when Yogananda was a little boy. People ask me why do you call Babai Shiv Gorak Sha Baba Gi? Mhm. This is why I'm explaining why. His parents were at Gorakpur. Their eldest son's name was Gorak. The second son who was born one day in a party, he got lost as a little boy, 7-year-old boy. He went wandering off and they couldn't find him. And then after hours of searching they found him in the temple of Gorakanat medi deeply lost in Shiva Goraka Baba's meditation whom the whom the world popularly knows as Baba gi because yogaand's book has written I could have written of many more experiences but Babai has prevented me to reveal the whole truth which today perhaps I'm revealing a little more the other side of the story which was revealed by Yoganand is revealed in my book Baba G the lightning standing still do read it because if you haven't read that in relation to Baba G you've read nothing so they found him in the temple of Gorakpur uh at Gorakna temple they brought him and brought him up so this is a very interesting story that throughout the mystique of Baba Baba G has never known who is Baba Gi does he have a name is he Shiva when Shiva Gorakshanath burst from the heart of Shiva Mhm. at the beginning of time and then appeared at every time. I'm talking about the person you know as Babai Gi and every world cycle he comes in one of the world cycles Machendranat was praying deeply for a disciple better than him. Then he went to the Himalayas and Shiva appeared. He asked Lord Shiva please give me a disciple better than me. Shiva told him you are already enlightened. You've reached the goal. you can't get that. So he said still I want a disciple better than me. And when he clearing this moorak machendraat you see. So when he asked for a disciple greater than him then Shiva said I must come as your disciple. And Shiva came as Gorakanat. And the same Gorakanat throughout the ages as being born and remaining eternally born is Shiv Goraka Baba Gi is given in my book the lightning standing still. Do read this book.
I plan to. Um what was the the first teaching uh or the most important teaching if there is one that Baba G gave you to give to the world?
It was in my past life I was already teaching kria yog with some of the people here. Mhm. And uh it's not proper to reveal everything. I say you have to approach in a humble way and let the people realize let it's no point me talking and yapping and giving the menu of talk let me give you the meal and then you decide for yourself but I can give you this much that I was teaching kria yoga in my past life blessed directly by Baba G himself. Mhm. No harm in saying that because I will give you the pudding. The proof lies in the pudding. Mhm. So I'm ready. I have no skeletons in my cupboard. No reservations. It's like a child. You come to me, sit in front of me, take the kria, take the experience. Don't like it, you go away. Like it, you can come and stay. But uh we are not concerned about the physical body and physical happenings in this world so much as we are concerned about the inner soul which can never die. Mhm. Like Lord Sri Krishna said in his Gita, why are you grieving over bodies which have died? It's all me who's died in the battlefield. It's all me. And he said, you Arjun can never die. You are the immortal soul. The breeze cannot dry me. The water cannot wet me. The fire cannot burn me. I am the immortal atma, the soul. And that is this immortal atma which is shrouded and clouded by the veil of maya. The illusion that is the great illusion. Yeah. And it is not the soul that is liberated or in bondage. It is not the atma. It is the buddhi or the intuition which is swayed by satan. The aamar. The ego is the satan. intellect to intuition is the buddhi which is the feminine part of nature. She is taken to believe that she is the doer of everything. Maya does everything. But when through practice of yoga she gets out of the delusion. She finds that the lord is the doer. The naked singularity the one and only eternity. So it is not duality that runs creation. It is the singularity. It is not plurality. It is reality. So the the the the purpose of yog duality to singularity. Let me tell you one thing before because it's a complex question. It's not the next level of the soul. It is the next next level of the soul. But let me say it before it's missed out. We call God Paramatma. Mhm. Paramatma is both at once. Paramatma both at once empowers creation and is inherent and eminent in creation as the atma. So the paramatma in empowers creation and the atma in creation receives that empowerment is inherent as the soul of every living being in creation. Now sandwiched between the atma and the permatma is the ego mano buddhi and aamar it's a it's a club sandwich not a cindi because it is paramatma the bread of life and the livingness is the atma and within this is the is the game of maya which is the chitta which is composed of the three-layed club sandwich of intuition that is intellect ego and the lower mind. Now these sandwiches if the soul which is within the creation has to go to the paramatma which is beyond creation the atma must eat the sandwich of creation with great care or the buddhi must eat it for the atma. the atma will be ever present and every bite that the buddhi will take in assistance with the atma because you're getting a empowerment from here and within your soul is a corresponding empowerment to God sandwiched in between is the ego. So when you eat the ego when you do things I did this I won the tennis match I'm the greatest boxer on earth I'm the best tennis player the eye has to be a claim but Sri Krishna says and so does Shiv Goraka Baba Gi that every thought word and deed you do you dedicate at the lotus feet of a liberated master the supreme master Shiva Goraka Babai and then you will create no karma the ego will not stick on to you and make you reincarnate with an unfulfilled desire. That unfulfilled that stickiness of the ego's desire. The unfulfilled desires will be dissolved by your offering your ishwar pranadhan. When you offer your body, mind and soul completely to the lord god and to the sguru then you create no new karma. That is called a karma non- karma.
So one thing you you said there that um I wanted to kind of dig into a little bit is that we are not liberating the soul. There is a idea in the world that um that the soul is trapped here that we are trapped in this incarnation and that we are trapped in this circle of reincarnation constantly that we're like always trapped in trapped and we're trying to liberate oursel and when we find enlightenment or self-realization we are free. But what you just said is the soul is not what you're liberating. No, what is what are we liberating when we find enlightenment?
We are liberating the intuition. The subtlest part of the intuition which is called buddhi atma buddhi and manus. Now the subtlest part which is liberated. It's like you know what we go into battle. The buddhi fights the battle for the king. The king is sitting on his throne. He does nothing. He's he's observing because of his presence. He's giving the power for the for the intellect intuition to fight the battle. And just as the king has not won the battle, the ego and the king when you conquer the ego and you conquer your own intuition and the ego, you give the credits of the victory to the king. So also the buddhi when it is liberated, it says the soul is liberated. He is liberated and he is bound. But the soul cannot be liberated nor bound. I'll give you an example please. It's like the moon. Mhm. The moon is in the sky. That is the atma, the soul. Mhm. The reflection of the soul is the buddhi with the waters, the turbulence which is which are the dynamic rajasic ego. So all the while you feel that the soul is trapped because the buddhi takes on the form of the soul and find it is disturbed by many thoughts, sexual thoughts, angry thoughts, this because the moon is there unaffected but the reflection of the moon appears to be caught. The reflection of the soul that reflection of the soul is not the soul but it is the intellect or the intuition which appears to be the soul. And when the soul by yoga practice quells the freedom and gets the freedom from the mind quells the thoughts and it finds itself as still as its master above then it realizes its folly that it was not the doer of all these worldly actions but the doer is there and that moment it realizes it goes into the atma. So the intellect the buddhi is one with the atma. Shiva Shaki merges into Shiva.
That is the most beautiful explanation I've ever heard of of what the soul is. And just so I'm clear and for everyone watching, it's I'm clear. I'm just going to repeat and and try to interpret what you just said. That the moon itself is the soul. Yes, this is a metaphor. I give you an example. Beautiful. I love metaphors. Uh I'm a storyteller, so I love telling stories and and metaphors are amazing. Um so this the moon is the soul. The ocean is referred is the is the is the is the stuff the mind stuff of maya correct? So it is called mind stuff. So it's the illusion. So the the ocean that is reflecting the the the reflection of the moon has all these waves all this stuff and if because of the riasic and dynamic nature of ego which is rajogun which is pran the rajogun the dynamic nature satwagun in maya procriti and maya and delusion of the cosmic mind there is the intellect which is satwagun then there that is the buddhi then there is the ego which is rajogun and then there is manus which is the typewriter. No brains of its own is just typing down what the buddhi and the ego do. The ego with its power of pan whips up the waves of emotion in the mind's lake. That is the rajaid gun. And you cannot give it I I have realized this. I've been through this. So I'm giving the example and when by the practice of pran itself you take a thorn to take the thorn out. You take the pran to use the pran. Pran is the one that disturbs. Pran is the one that disturbs you in creation and binds you to maya. And pran is the one that can relieve you from maya. So that's so beautiful. Um, so when you're when with the with the waves, the waves of the ocean are the mind, the ego, and that's the delusion. But when you meditate and calm the mind, that's when the waters settle. When the waters settle to a point, do you know how to calm the mind? The breath disturbs the mind. You use the very breath to calm the mind. With the breath that disturbs, that very breath calms the mind. That is the lynch pinch of yoga at its initial stage. And the lynch pin of yoga at its final stage is yoga samadi. It's yoga. You can call it yog samadhi or god or babai gi. So breath is the key. It's the lynch pin to calm key. The first there are many keys and many locks. Each body has a key and a lock. And with that particular key that which called the technique the type of samadis these are the keys you see they have many keys dhana dhan samadi divided into vitara samadhi the key of reasoning next comes the var samadhi the key of meditation so it's it's a transmeditation not this the lower meditation after which is anand samadhi so that is the samadhi of joy and bliss. So reasoning, contemplation or meditation, bliss is the third one. And the last one is Asmmith samadi. As samadhi where is the highest stage of sabikalp samadhi where you realize that all that there is all that there is is me. From that you get to the final stage where you realize sir smith samadhi where you think that you are the whole creation is love and light and you are aware of everything going on in creation. But when you go to a higher stage beyond the divine mind, this divine mind into divine consciousness. Mhm. From sabikar to nirvikab samadi. Then you take out that when you keep meditating and have visions of Krishna and Ram and everyone and are very holy and you can see God in the burning bush and all these things. When you see through that and realize that even this the state of existence, consciousness and bliss, even this is a very fine film of mind and matter. And when you can see through this and you reject that, then the final veil of the great delusion is unveiled, cast off. And then is the solitary singularity about which nobody knows anything, nobody can say anything. We can only experience it.
But Grunath let me ask you when you find this when you are at the stage that you just explained and you haven't died you haven't moved on you haven't transitioned and you come back to live amongst I have died and moved on the body is just my vehicle it's just a facility somebody buys a Chevrolet somebody buys a Mercedes right they just choose a body and come I know what is the end of this body I know that I'm going to lead it I know I have to keep it super fit to be able to serve humanity as my larger self. Humanity is also my larger self. In the vaster cosmic scenario in the individual scenario, I have been cut clean of all desires and thoughts. But in a in a world scenario, in a cosmic scenario means how much have you cut off from creation? And some people who have cut off totally are sent back by high command. That is the real the non-being essentiality. I call Baba G the non-being essentiality. Baba G is the isness of the zero not zero. What does that mean? He is the being. That's why I'm saying they are so mighty in their expanse and their state of realization that words fall beggely. I mean we with a begging bowl of words with a few coins. You want us to construct the splendor of Babai? Impossible. Fair enough. Fair enough.
One question I have to ask you and I'm going to tell you an experience I had. I had the pleasure of going to uh Mount Washington to Yogananda's ashram. Yes. That's where in Mount Washington in California. Mount Washington. In California. That's where the he's his samadi is built there, right? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. First he was in the in that crepe. Yes. and he was taken out and now grant glory be to yogaand gi. So when I went um I was given the honor of actually going to his room where he lived that they haven't touched since he has transitioned and um we walked in once through the brother who was walking me walked me through and I would feel I felt the second I started even walking towards the room I started to feel the energy and when I walked in the room I started to really understand what was happening but then I got I asked them can I meditate here for 5 minutes and he's like sure and I sat at the at the edge of yoga nandanda's bed and touched his shoes his his slippers. Mhm. And I started to meditate and gurunath I cannot explain to you what happened. I went into a deep meditation like that like I mean I had never it takes me a minute when I meditate to get in like to go down. I was there like that and the funny thing is I started seeing things coming in and I started to do you know something? Yeah. Why your mind went into that? Why? Because you were prepared for it. You were wanting it. Yes. Do you know why your mind is not going into that? Why? Because you have changed the compartment. You have come into your intellectual compartment. You're interviewing a yogi who you don't know from Adams. And therefore you are not ready. But it can happen right here at the table. Sure, there are hundreds of people who have had experiences and that is the the work of the masters. Sri Yukteshwar gave it. Li Masai gave it all true masters. You see the the litmus test of the master. There are three litmus tests. But one of them is when you see him, he's not a physical body. He's a congealed soul. What does that mean? He's a frozen soul taken form for you to grasp. If I came in just an awareness, you wouldn't be able to see me. Mhm. So when he comes as a congal soul, you grasp him and he's able to teach you. The mind is coming in the way of the experience. And to interview me, you have to use mind otherwise you cannot interview me. So I would suggest that you when you have put your mind to rest or I have put your mind to rest then you can come and we can have some sessions together and I'm having three sessions here in the United States. First session I'm having is at Mount Madonna. Mhm. They've called me there was a yogi there called Swami Ram. Mhm. Ra Swami I think. Then the next one is at Oxnard and the third one I've had the first one at uh Asheville. Second is Mount Madon. So you're welcome to send your people or come appreciate. Of course we can't do much in an interview because the frame of mind we are framed in the frame of mind. In order to get the experience we got to break the frame of mind. The moment you break the frame of the mind, you get into consciousness and experience is all yours.
Well, I'll tell you what, uh, Gurunath, uh, as we're having this conversation, I'm already feeling certain things. Uh, you're an energy feeler. You can feel it now. Also, you can feel the energy between a normal person and a yogi. Of course, you're sensitive to that. Yeah. But I feel it. I I feel it as as when you walked in and as the deeper as we're talking that's what I mean the mind of a professional person this is this is a sacred secret so after 1 hour you have opened up and admitted it on the phone that the moment you walked in this radiation and feeling was there sure and and you said hey no menu today boys only food the chef is bringing the chef is bringing the food out you're just going to eat directly But you insisted on talking about the menu because of all the people who want to hear. Well, yeah, because we can't we can't broadcast the food. But but I described the menu. I told you how to eat the sandwich of the ego. Yeah. By surrendering it to the Lord and then you create no new karma. So when you came into this life, did you have karma? Let me tell you, let me not talk about myself because then that will tend to be egotistic and fair enough. I'm just a josho. I like to crack dirty jokes. I like to enjoy myself. I like to have great good fun with my grandchildren. But when I go deep, I really go. So question is there are two three types of people. The first people who are normal people incarnate with their own karma. Okay. And they have to go through the good and bad of it. Some people they incarnate with partially their own karma and partially take on the karma of their disciples. And the third type of people are those people who incarnate with no karma of their own but they choose to take on the karma of their disciples or as in the case of lahari ma sia baba gi during lahari ma's incarnation as bhart
Mhm. When Babai Gi was Gorakhanat, Bharti went into battle. He was told that he died in battle. So his queen, Pingala Rani, went into the funeral fire as a true Sati, a true Indian lady. She committed Jauhar, not Sati. When Bharti came, he started crying. "Oh, my queen is gone. My queen is gone."
Baba Gi happened to be passing through that by that. That's in my book, "The Lightning Standing Still." This example, he happened to be passing by and he said, he sat by King Bhartari. He also, he took his bowl, mud bowl, he broke it. Bartari was crying for his queen. He was crying for the broken bowl. "Oh, Bharti," said, "Hey yogi, are you crazy? It's just an earthen pot. That's not you. It's just the shell of this thing."
So Babai told Bartarinath, he said, "Yes, yogi. Similarly, the queen that has died is just a shell. Her Atma, her soul, is immortal. So don't cry for that which is not worth crying for." Then he said, "No, no, I want to see her." He said, "Okay, get me water." So Babai got a Shiv Gorak, Babai got water. He sprinkled it on the dead body, and a hundred queens appeared before Bhartrinath, who was Lahiri Mahasaya in his past life. I'll tell you why, because I've researched this and experienced it. He, there was another person, but I won't talk much about Vikramaditya, his brother.
So when he got this, he said, "Now choose your wife." So he said, "I can't. They're all alike." He said, "This is Maya." Then he sprinkled again. Original Maharani Pingala was. Mhm. He spoke to her and besieged her to stay back. She said, "No, karma has happened. I have to move on, but I will be meeting you again." And she moved on. Said, "We'll be meeting you again."
So this desire, Babai Gi kept in the mind of this great, lofty yogi, Yogar Lahari Mahasaya's escape velocity was so powerful that he would escape even the event horizon. And the escape velocity of all delusion had Babai not kept him down with this desire of seeing Pingala again. That first desire was planted in his mind. The second desire was planted in his mind when he said, "Now I will initiate you." A mysterious being, Vikramaditya, who about whom I will not detail or talk about, because that will lead to a whole new shocking chapter. He led him up. He led Babai to the throne, and he sat there with a scepter of life and death in his hands, the great king of kings, the lord of all lords. Baba Gi is the collective Elohim of the angelic hierarchy of the heavenly host, the master of masters, and not an ascended master, but perpetually descended so that the whole of creation may be ascended by his descent. Interesting.
So he sat there and he said, "I will give you initiation." Initiated him, and he got down from the throne and he went back. This then the desire for being in the palace remained in Bhart's mind. Am I right? Mhm. When it remained in Bhart's mind, in the next life, Babai designed a golden palace in the Himalayas by his Krishi Gnanaki and it Shakti. That was the palace that he desired in his past life as the Natya Yogi Bharat. Okay. He had the same seat. A seraphic being came. Babai came. He went to the throne, the scepter of life and death in his hands. It's mentioned in "Autobiography of a Yogi," but the other link is not mentioned, which I provided in my book, "Lightning Standing Still." Mhm. That fills the other gap.
So and he, he said, "Lahi, feel the emeralds, feel the rubies in the palace. Fulfill your past life's desires which were not your own, but I kept so that you can reincarnate on earth to hold you down, your escape velocity." So these yogis are totally free, but they are kept down by the choice of their masters, or they choose some karma on their own. So Lahi was required. And then after that, when he went, he was already married to Kashimoni, the first desire, married to Kashimoni, who was Maharani Pingala. The second desire is seeing the palace, which he took away from him in his past life, and he went as a, as a Natya Yogi in the forest with Gorakhanat. So this is the, the, the our ascended masters. No, they are the nine colors of the nine Naths, our masters. So beautiful. I, I hope I'm not giving out more than I'm supposed to, because I'm going to be flooded with questions.
Now, these were the two that proves Lahari Mahasai was Bharti in his past life. The desire for his queen fulfilled as a married yogi in this life, householder yogi, which they want everybody to be. Babai, a householder yogi. I am a householder yogi. I was destined to be by the grace and glory of Babai Gi. The second one is the palace materialized. So this is, this is the thing which I'm linking up as to these great, uh, they would be greater than ascended masters. We would, they would be descended masters, the descended masters, the Avatars.
One of the other things that, um, Yogananda spoke a lot about in "Autobiography of a Yogi" was the introduction of, at least to the West, of the yogic powers, the levitation, the bilocation, manifestation, and all this kind of thing. From what I understand in my research and studies is that those powers, the yogic powers, could be traps in the trail, in the, in the, um, in the path or the journey of enlightenment. They are not traps at all. Tell me. Explain. They are not traps at all. Okay. It is your weakness or your distracted mind may be misled, you know, like Little Red Riding Hood in the books, picking up apples and flowers and buttercups and daisies. Yeah. So these siddhis have so much powers that first, there's a possibility of an ego to arise in you, right? And secondly, for you to use these siddhis and to misuse them. Not that you will be, there are people who've used their siddhis, Mhm. and they have not fallen into the trap. There are people who have, uh, used these siddhis and not been tempted or distracted along the path, and there are people who misused siddhis also. So they say, best is to keep away from it because, according to me, don't use the siddhis and pray to them and go with folded hands in front of your siddhis. You attain to that state of the Paramita, Janmata, and Paranuta, that the siddhis come folded hands before you and say, "Master, tell us what to do." These siddhis were used. Babai didn't use them. They are at his beck and call, at his service. Mhm. So the siddhis must come to you, then they are used. There'll be no temptation of a fall because you've no desire for them at all. You've bypassed them by miles, totally avaduta, you've disconnected. So that's why they say when a, when you're practicing, when you're ascending, don't use them. When you've descended, they come as your maids and staff servers, and they do it without you knowing also, they do your work.
Um, Gurunath, as, uh, as the world is becoming a little bit more chaotic nowadays, in these next seven years, as we talked about, we're going to be a little rocky. A lot of people are fearful of what's happening, the institutions that are crumbling around us, uh, wars, economic strife, food, media, all these things are changing, uh, and they are very fearful. What advice do you have for people who are fearful? My advice to the fearful people is, don't be fearful, be do-ful. Get up and do. And if you can't do, don't be fearful. Engage in some sort of an activity which will go towards the bringing about of peace on earth. Whether it's sitting alone in your room and meditating on Kriya Yoga, whether it's sitting alone and, you know, praying for Earth's peace, whether it's joining some peace organizations. If you are in diplomatic circles, do go ahead, do meet heads of state, have conclaves and conferences where you can, you can tell them and convince them. Which I said in one of my talks, Earth peace shall not come about by United Nations Organization. Earth peace shall come about by United Minds Organization, not by UNO, but by UM. And this can be done by actively participating in peace gatherings. Go for it, no matter how small. Give it a try. Don't be pessimistic. "Oh, it's a small thing. It's not going to affect." It is. And let me tell you, one good thought and meditation has a ripple effect. Like in a still pond of the world, you throw one pebble, it has a ripple effect in the whole pond. So one good thought will have a ripple effect on the whole of humanity. Therefore, I tell them to do a technique I've given besides Kriya Yoga called the Earth Peace Meditations, where they let explode from their hearts, 8 billion 70 million swans, 70 million, 70,000 million, that's each soul in humanity. Let the, let these missiles of peace explode in the hearts of humanity, and put your hand in a circle of spread Earth peace through self-peace. That's one of our mission statements, devoted to new life awakening for Earth peace through self-peace.
Why are we as humanity right now awakening more and more to this information, to un, to the realities? We're breaking Maya more and more now than we have ever been. People are looking, searching for this knowledge. Why is that happening now? Natural evolution of different strata and states of humanity which are there, and another expeditious process is fear. Fear of death, fear of the unknown, and fear of war. So they make an effort to know what is death, what is after death, how can war be avoided, how can the sufferings of war be mitigated. All these things, uh, accumulated, contribute to an inner urge to find that elixir which will quench the thirst of all ages.
Can you explain a Kundalini awakening? I can give you a Kundalini awakening without the traumatic effects of the Kundalini awakening by techniques of Kriya Yoga. So that you see, Kundalini awakening is just the process of the divine energy. It's like a volcano. It pushes its energy up, and first, what is thrown out of the volcano? Magma, muck. So also, when you, when the muck or the negative thoughts are thrown out, you start jumping like a frog, or you start howling like a dog, or start. These are things of your negativity which are thrown out. But I don't, I don't agree to this sudden awakening of Kundalini. It's not with the circadian rhythms of nature. If you want to do it, let it come gradually with no traumatic effect. Do your 12 Mahamudras every day, 24 Mudras, 144 Kriyas, 108 Kriyas, and gradually build the capacity of your mind. And as your mind gets purified, the, the Kundalini energy, which is the electromagnetic energy in your body, will gradually, through a milder name for Kundalini energy is Prana, is breath. The breath turns to Prana, turns to Kriya Yoga, turns to Kundalini energy. Kundalini energy turns to Sabikalpa Samadhi, and that Sabikalpa Samadhi, the mother, then goes into Nirvikalpa Samadhi, or reality. This is called the alchemy of total transformation, and that's with the chakra system, that is the system of Yogi Raj Gurunath Siddhanath, as he teaches in his Siddhanath Yoga Parampara. For others, I cannot speak for this. I will give you the menu and the food both at once.
Okay. So when you, when you sit in silence with the divine, what do you pray for? Not as a master, but as a soul. What do you pray for for humanity? What is, what are you putting out into the universe right now? I, I don't pray for humanity. I become humanity. I expand into humanity and let the Lord God do a double osmosis through me. So he knows best what is to be done. Where there is to be war, there will be war. The evil shall be mitigated. Where the sufferings are there, suffering shall be eliminated. Some people who deserve a good reward shall get their states of Samadhi. So it's all varied in this varied world of Maya. So let the Lord do it. I myself cannot ask for one simple thing. In that, in that sitting, I ask, "Oh Lord, what is that thing by which everything will be perfect?" And the Lord says, without saying it, "I am that thing by which everything will be perfected." That's the best thing to ask for.
Fair enough. Um, as a master, uh, as you're walking this earth in this incarnation, um, at the level you're at spiritually, um, how do you balance in, how do you balance living in Maya? How do you balance those two things? The living in Maya was of secondary detail. Uh, and I balanced it. Sometimes I didn't balance it, and I couldn't care less. What do you mean? I balanced my own life. Sometimes I fell with bleeding knees. Sometimes I fell with a broken shoulder. Couldn't care less. But for others, I did care that they all got Kriya Yoga systematically, that they were all moving towards God. Uh, thing. So my work in this world is not objective. It is subjective. It is, uh, helping all my disciples to flower into the likeness of their own being, which is God.
What is the most misunderstood aspect of Kriya Yoga or your teachings in general that people just misunderstand? You see, they misunderstand it is the ego. I think, uh, ignorance is coming in the way, and everyone has a right to do what they want. If you, if you want to be a drunkard, go ahead. After telling you, you don't listen, then the karmic law will take place. The law is a great teacher. Karma is a great teacher. So we lay before everybody the Kriya Yoga, but no pressure. We force nobody. We tell them that Yoga itself helps you to do what you're doing better.
"There never has been, nor will be, a time when man's immortal self shall cease to demand his best and foremost attention. And Yoga is the science of the pursuit of this immortal self." There never has been, nor will be, a time. I think this is right, that there never has been, nor will be, a time when man's immortal self shall cease to demand his best and foremost attention. Mhm. And Yoga is the science of this, the pursuit of this immortal self, which makes you realize that you are not a perishable body, but an immortal soul.
If you had one teaching to give humanity before you leave this incarnation, what would it be? Silence. Why silence? Because hold your silence, stillness, still, for then you'll become divinity's will.
In your opinion, how do you balance free will versus destiny? So many people are so caught up in, "I have free will. I can do whatever I want. There's no destiny. There's no one's telling me what to do." It's very egocentric. But we all have a, a journey. We all have a purpose. We all have a, a path that we must walk. How we walk it, I feel, is in my opinion, is where the free will comes in. But there are these kind of, uh, mile markers throughout life that, like, you're going to meet this person, you're going to do this, you're going to do that. But how you get there is up to you. How do you balance the two? What is your, your definition of it? As a matter of fact, everything is free will. Mhm. But this free will is bound by your own past actions, which are called Samskaras. Mhm. Samskaras are past memories. The mass integration of these past memories make you have certain tendencies. The Samskaras make you lead you to certain thoughts, and those thoughts make you do what you do. So if I have constantly been a carpenter in my past life, Mhm. the momentum of those past karmas of repeatedly being a carpenter, those impressions which are in my subconscious of being a carpenter, getting the wood, sawing the wood, making a box, hammering the nails, done it thousands of times, many lives before. This, this life will make me a carpenter, or the, uh, a huge boss of a, a packers and movers, you know, packing and moving. So your destiny, what action you do, the karma that you do in the present determines what you will be in the past in the future. When that becomes the past, that comes upon you, and you have to fulfill that desire because all these actions are desire-filled. Now, those desires have to be filled. They have to be fulfilled. And therefore, you had a free will in the past, but you molded it such by constantly being a carpenter that you're a carpenter in this life. You had a free will in the past, but you painted so many thousands of pictures that when you came in your next birth, the soul incarnated with those past impressions and skills. The brush and the paint automatically appeared in front of you, and your skills spontaneously went into motion, and you became a great Picasso or a Ravi Varma. So this, the, the free will has been, there are, there are many free wills of your individual self. That as you expand and evolve, there is the spirit of the earth, who is a larger part of you, that has its own free will. Then there's a larger part of you still, the, the inner essence of that larger expansion is called the galaxy, that has an informing spirit, and then the supercluster has an informing spirit, and so the whole cosmos has an informing spirit. These informing spirits have vaster and vaster areas of operation. You may not realize them, but you have to evolve to them. Your consciousness has to expand from your individual consciousness to the consciousness of the earth, which belongs to the spirit of the earth, to the consciousness of the solar system, to the consciousness of. So in that, it is you yourself. A higher self, which formerly has laid down those laws of nature, your consciousness only. But you, evolving at this particular stage, are free to do what you like. But you have your local stand-eye area. You can shift this table from here to there. You can shift that television set from there to here. You can make changes and do whatever you like, but within the parameters and limits of this room. Mhm. A bigger being can do whatever he likes in the world. More powerful beings. You have the President of Russia and America. They are more powerful. Their theater of operation is bigger than yours because their Samskaras may have had that authority. So they operate in that area. Then there are bigger inner government of the world's areas, bigger beings of the inner government of the world. The ascended masters, they have a bigger theater of operation. So there is free will. There is free will, but as per your own capacity, you cannot just say, "Oh, I have free will, okay, rain today." You can't say that, right? But if you look up to the sky of Sri or says, "Let there be rain this evening," they are the masters of the elements. They've acquired those powers and siddhis and those past Samskaras, and they can make it rain. So different people have different levels of freedom. The ones that are jumping is the ego. You are free, but your freedom is your, who is, who is your master? Who is your larger self? Who is your parent source? Your parent source is the spirit of the earth. So your freedom of spirit is there within the spirit of the earth, but limited to the spirit of the earth. That spirit of the earth has its own domain of freedom of spirit. So you see, your freedom is guided by the universal laws of this world, of the solar system, of the cosmos. So you are free in a way within the limits of your own karma and Samskara, and you are bound by the greater laws of nature that you can't tell the sun to rise at 12:00 in the night. That's a bigger freedom which the sun himself can rise and set. Certain things start happening with any old Josh, saying it, there'll be chaos, and then, and then there'll be Pralaya, destruction of the earth. Of course. So your free will is only to your karma and your capacity of your destiny. Destiny is not all for done. Destiny is what you make, you know, in your past, which becomes a fixture in the future. Let me give you an example, please. I am a child playing with mud. Mhm. I let in water and I say, "I'm going to build this like this with clay and then turn it to the right and then turn it again to the left." Mhm. So I have it like this. But I can change it if I want. I have the free will. Mhm. But if I wait overnight, there's no water. That clay becomes hardened. Mhm. Who has done that? Me myself. Mhm. And me myself, I'm bound by my own past karma because of time. Time has hardened your course. You have chosen to take this course. It's your free choice, but not at a whim. Free will is not a knee-jerk action. It is the action of past, present, and future. Your individual present tells your individual past. To each one is allotted his exact and proper task. You say, Gurunath, why does my, uh, waterway flow like this to the right and then to the left? Why can't I change it by my free will? You yourself have made it through your free will, but the passage of time has hardened it, and now you have to obey it. So time is one of the things that hardens the free will also because it is impressed in your mind as that passage of going right and then left. That way, that waterway is made. So you have free will. What you do in the past comes to you in the, in the present, and you have to strengthen that. If you break it, it will not break. Beautiful. There will be a disturbance of mind. So, so destiny is nothing but what you have done in the past. What you have done in the past is your present destiny. What you do in the present will be your future destiny. The doing is called karma. Karma means building of a bridge like this. Once it hardens, you have to go along the line of least. You can, but with great effort, you can change it, but it will require a great effort. So destiny, you know, and will, they both go, they work in tandem. You used your will to make this roadway in the past. Now that roadway which you used by your free will has become your destiny. But it was your free will in the past which has made it your present destiny.
Let me ask you this. There was an experience I had years ago where I went to Mexico, and in Mexico, I went to go visit, uh, the pyramids. Uh, I went to Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum. And when I was in Coba, uh, I was, uh, there was this big, you know, ancient pyramid there, and people were walking up it. So I was like, "Okay, let me walk up it." And I start walking up, you know, the stairs, like, and not looking anywhere else, just looking up. And then about halfway through, I stopped because I got tired. And I'm like, "Let me just rest here for a second." And I turn around, and that's when I discovered that I did not like heights. I was very, I was like, "Oh my god, I was terrified." I had never felt that in my life. And then I slowly went down, all the way down again. But that was the first time I was experienced that, like, a not a terrifying, uh, terrified, uh, paralyzing fear, but a fear that was like, you know, other people could just skydive and do this. I can't. It's not something I'm doing. So then in a meditation years later, I'm in my meditation, and I see, I assume, me in a past life being thrown off of that pyramid. Very right. Is that what that was? I was seeing glimpses of, yes, of that. So you must have been thrown from a height. Mhm. And you had a fear for that height, or maybe even that pyramid. And you know, these fears, they don't arise. There's no chance for them. They can only be tested, and they can only arise when the opportune moment arrives. So the opportune moment is getting to a height. When you got to a height, you found that you had a fear for height, and this is because of your being thrown off in the past life. So that, so that does happen. Yeah.
So, there's a reason why, for whatever reason, um, I'm really, I'm really drawn to acoustic guitar. I can't play. I would love to, but I can't. I just don't know how to play it, or I haven't. I tried, I couldn't do it. But whenever I hear acoustic guitar in any form, flamenco, you know, just a normal, I absolutely am drawn to it. And I have to believe in a former life, I had to do something with that music. Had to be that, that had some effect on that day. You may, you may have been, uh, connected to this guitar from listening to it from a past life, whether it be in Spain or Spanish. Sure. So the Spanish things attract you also a lot. Oh, yes, they do. The Spanish, because you have been a Spanish person in one of your past lives, where you were in a musical band, uh, in that musical band. Besides, uh, one instrument, you must be attracted to other instruments as well, wanting to play some other instruments. But yet, I have no, I have no talent in this life. Not you have no talent, not in this life, not for that, but you like to, you like to listen and play. I would, it would be a dream of mine to take a guitar and just start to play. But apparently, in this life, if I would have had that gift, I might have gone down that road. You would have been a rock star then. And the universe is like, "No, no, no, no. You have other work to do in this lifetime. You can enjoy it, but you, we're not going to, you're not going to have the skill set in this life because it's not what you're supposed to be doing." So I just, I'm, I'm, I'm bringing this up as an example of how people listening can just look at the things that they're interested in, look at the energies that they have, what are they, what is, what makes them happy? And it's, it's like what Joseph Campbell said, the, the great, the great philosopher, um, to find your bliss, and that's how you follow the path. What makes you happy is, and a lot of times it's not what makes you money at the, at the time, but that's what following your bliss is. Would you agree? Following your bliss, your happiness. You follow your bliss. Mhm. Well, sometimes you don't have bliss. You have aggression. Yes, you do. To wait till the bliss comes. Bliss is not easy to get by in these modern times. But yeah, you, it's not so unscientific as following your bliss. You see, I've written a poem in this, uh, book of mine, "Wings to Freedom." Mhm. And that will explain a lot of the questions which people have. That the law of karma is the ultimate law. I mean, I could read to you one of the chapters of that, which could clear the misunderstandings of a lot of people that they have. You see, the, to the truth is, truth be gone. This is, you see, your karma is nothing but, and more of course, it's Newton's third law of motion, that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. So this is a very, uh, important law. If you do good things, you reap good things. You get what you deserve. You reap. If you do good, you reap good.
So then for the people who, who say, and we all experience this, "Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do good, bad things happen to good people?" Because the, the answer to this is this. You look at his present life, but you don't see his past life or what he has left behind in this life in the past. You see, have you seen a crochet? A crochet is a square knitting cloth with big spaces that you can knit. Crochet. Crochet. Yes. Yes. Yes. I don't know. These are ladies' things. Yes. Crochet. Crochet. Yes. It crochet looks very, uh, good. Mhm. But in that crochet, have you ever turned it at the back? Mhm. It's very ugly. Correct. The front, the front style is good, but the back. So for us, it appears that good, bad things happen to good people, but if you turn around, they get what they deserve because they have done things in the bad. They have done things in the past which are not good. So to each one is meted out his exact and proper soul. Each one is meted out his exact and proper score. So this, this unbribable judge is called the karmic law, who balances the ups and downs of lives of man, fitting the jigsaw of our fates as we ourselves had planned. This is the karma.
Is it true, Gurunath, that once a, a soul or a being achieves enlightenment, that he dissipates the karma for his, uh, ancestry for multiple lifetimes going back and for multiple lifetimes going forward? I heard that somewhere. I'm not sure if that's true or not. You see, each one dissolves his own karma and works out his own karma. So if you have a more advanced being, he will not only dissolve his own karma, but he will take on the karma of other beings. So they say that the yogi's impact is so big that he not only purifies the karma of his, his personal life, but he, he purifies the karma of all his relatives and all his surroundings and all his disciples, depending upon the, the gravity of that yogi. If it's, if you cast a small pebble in the lake, it'll create its own ripples. Mhm. Little ripples. Cast a huge rock, it'll create huge ripples in the ocean. So also the ripples of goodwill, the ripples of work of the, which the yogi is doing, he can not only save himself, not only do good to himself, but he can purify others also.
Now, I'm going to ask you those questions I was going to ask you before, um, that I ask all my guests. What is your definition of living a fulfilled life? I have no definition of living a fulfilled life because for me personally, a fulfilled life is only in one word. What is my definition of living a fulfilled life? To be one with God. What is that? By fulfilling which I may fulfill all. The answer comes, God is that by fulfilling which you may fulfill all. What is that by knowing which I may know all? Answer, God is that by knowing which I may know all. What is that by living which I may live all? God is that by living which I may live all, because he is the only perfect truth in creation. All of us are imperfect. We are still evolving. He's the only one who is our parent source and ultimate goal. The, by God, I mean the ultimate reality. Mhm. You can call it God. It's a mere question of dialect. It's a word. Mhm. But when you reach the final reality, the ultimate goal, that is the ultimate fulfillment, which we variously call God, Ishwar, Allah, Ahura Mazda, you know, Shiva, Ram. So these are words. So when you fulfill in that perfect being, then only you can be satisfied. Imperfection cannot satisfy you. Desires are endless. The great desire is one who fulfills all desire. Shivorak, Shiva, God, Ishwar.
If you had a chance to go back in time and speak to little Gurunath, what advice would you give him? I've had a, a experience of mine, actually. If the first experience was when I was in my mother's womb, I was aware. When I came out, my first effort which I made was that my first attempt of trying to stand, and it was a tremendous effort. I put my hands on the sofa and tried to lift my legs. I still remember that, and it required a big effort to do that. And I had a, I had a talk with little Gurunath. But little Gurunath and myself are very similar in the sense that we both live in the presence. I've not seen any change in little Gurunath and in me, the essential change. That means I'm still the same as little Gurunath, and I get along best with people aged one to three. If they're seven or ten, at twelve, it becomes attention to me. They bug me. His children, children are the best, purest. But little Gurunath's very, he lived in the moment. He lived in the moment, and I couldn't say. I've spoken for him. I've been with him, and it's associated with him even now. It's a very pure essence, essential part of my Samadhi.
When, when a child is born, um, they're closest to source, they're closest to God. Yes. Yes. And when you're about to die, you're closest to God, give or take, depending on how you're dying. Um, it seems like both sides, in the middle, is where all the crazy happens, all the, the Maya is happening. But when you're young, you're still very, very close, and when you're leaving, you're close. Is that true? In my case, it would be true because when I was very young, my mind was very still, and I could perceive behind my mind the eternal stillness, constant. And as I age, my mind is again becoming still, and the fog of the mind has cleared 95%. Even my normal days in Samadhi, it's 100% clear, but even normally, it's 95% clear. And I feel both the still mind. Whenever the mind is still, you're closer to God. God, or consciousness, or your soul, or Atma, has never gone anywhere, nor come anywhere. It was the same all the time, the same all-pervading consciousness of stillness through eternity. And this, when the mind stills, you get that stillness through eternity. You get that stillness through eternity in your meditations, in your moments of silence.
Have you spoken to God? And if you have, have you ever asked him one question? Is there a question you would want to ask him or her? First, I tell you how I saw God. I made a poetry on it. Poem. Then, "Stiller than stillness itself, in silence I do behold my innermost rising star. I dissolve in that mystery untold, so near, yet so afar." So that is the star is the inner God, the Jiva. Mhm. It's near and yet afar because I was so absorbed in that state. I had no thoughts, no questions to ask. I was just merged into that state of silent awareness. I got merged into it. I didn't ask any questions. I felt I had already everything that I was complete. And then I dissolved the subject and the object, which is the star subject, which is me. We merged together. This was my experience.
One question I would like to ask you is about psychedelics and people using psychedelics and plant medicine to open themselves up to achieve the places where a yogi would do it through meditation, through techniques, through breathwork. What is your take on people who do not, people who do that, not judging, but what is the process, and is it similar to what a yogi goes through when you take Ayahuasca or psilocybin or mushrooms or something like that that opens your mind so rapidly and so intensely that it could be overwhelming? But these experiences which many people mistake for spiritual experiences are not spiritual experiences. They are psychic experiences. They are wonderful. They are exciting, and some of them could be pointers to the spiritual path. But all these experiences take place in the individual, the psychic, and the, the vaster mind, the subconscious mind. Mhm. And they can take you to some superconscious mind, but they're still in the mind. And they definitely, as far as the mind is concerned, as far as Sabikalpa Samadhi is concerned, they can help certain doorways. But Sabikalpa Samadhi, the Samadhi of mind and matter, can be helped and assisted by types of these drugs, provided, provided they are not chemical harmful, killing drugs. M. The cannabis type would be better drugs, although you, you lose, you lose temporary memory, but they are harmless by and large. And I do not encourage them, but, uh, if people have it, I have no opinion as to what they should and should not do. It, um, the cannabis is not too harmful. The chemicals damage the brain, and they are not, it is not the final stage of what they think that, uh, this is a state of final Samadhi because after the mind, it's all in the mind. After the mind, where there is no thought comes the divine consciousness. That's where the real Samadhi begins. All these experiences of seeing the third eye, or blazing, or flying, or seeing the tigress, or seeing damsels in heaven, they don't come under the category of Samadhi. They come under the category of Samapatti. Mhm. Samapatti is a category where the mind rests itself on a beautiful third eye, or on the beautiful of the damsels of heaven. But Samadhi does not rest on any object. It has no Alambana, no rest on any object. Samadhi is the merger of the witness into the awareness. There is no thought, word, deed, object anywhere there. You're just your pure awareness goes, that is the Jiva, and expands into the integrated consciousness of the universe called Shiva. It has no object to rest. The mind rests itself upon an object, that is called Samapatti. Mhm. Which is a Samadhi with objects to rest upon. A house, a church, the, the form of Krishna, the, the form of Jesus, you know, having the last supper. The mind is concentrated and merges into the last supper. Photo of Paramanand, an image of Sri Yukteshwar. But when all these forms and images go, it is called the Nirguna Samadhi, without form or attribute. Then only individual consciousness merges into cosmic consciousness, and there is nothing to support that individual consciousness. So at first, it feels out of place, and then it gradually merges into that vast individual consciousness beyond mind. So the Samadhi beyond mind is Samadhi. Sam, Samadhi which is in mind and has an object to rest upon is Samapatti. This is the difference.
And is that what happened with the Maharishi when, um, there's a story that went around that the Maharishi was given mushrooms, and he was only supposed to take one. He took the entire bag, and nothing happened. He was like, "I, this does nothing to me." It, but because, tell me, the state which the mushrooms gave was a psychic state. Mhm. Which of, of knee-jerk euphoria. You know, the knee-jerk when a doctor hits you in the knee. So that's a knee-jerk euphoria. But Maharishi was already in a permanent state of higher Samadhi. Higher Samadhi. It could be the higher, uh, Sabikalpa Samadhi, or he could have been in Nirvikalpa Samadhi, but both were higher Samadhis than the mushrooms. Let's say mushroom Samadhi goes only up to mind. Mhm. If Maharishi was beyond mind, in Nirvikalpa Samadhi, without form and attribute, then he will not be affected by that lesser voltage because he had a, he had a sweetener which was sweeter than the mushrooms. That is what it is.
Gurunath, what is your hope for this conversation to do for people watching? I would not pin any desire or hope onto it, but I would just pray to the Lord God, "Thy will be done." And if it is for their benefit, which I definitely think it is, it will reach them. But people's, different people have different acumen. Mhm. Of understanding a particular subject. Now, we have spoken on all depths of philosophic subjects. Some understand the simpler, some understand the Rasa. But I feel I've been pretty simple in my explanations as to what the different types of Samadhi are. It's, it's a huge, it's a rich Zambezi River in which the deepest divers can dive, and the shallows for the youngsters to play too. It's like a river.
And finally, Gurunath, is there any parting messages you would like to give the audience? Be sensitive. My presence is the message. I have given to you in speech all that they could be given. Now I am here before you in silence. Just be me and let, let the rest take its course. I'm available, open. You can come anytime. I'm there for you as the presence.
Gurunath, it has been an absolute pleasure and honor having you in the studio, and I appreciate you, uh, more than words can say, and I appreciate everything you're doing in your mission in this life to awaken this planet and help souls transition and enlighten. Thank you, my friend. God bless you. All the best. Godspeed and Asherad.
