Hey baddies, it's your girl Bevy and today we're going to talk about peptides for hair growth, or for your hair, period. What are peptides and why is everybody talking about them? And why is this camera showing y'all all my business and my room is not clean?

All right, so all those aside, let's talk about peptides. Okay, so what are they? Are they really worth your points? Yes. Now, me, I have become a baddie on a budget in the most recent months, year, because, you know, in these tariff times, life is life and all that, all that, all that. You know what I'm saying? Do I make sure that my hair is healthy, or do I pay my rent? You know what I'm saying? You know, apples and apples. So, all that to say, I've been using a lot of drugstore products, all that, all that, all that. But there are things that drugstore products cannot replace. And that ingredient, the main ingredient that I'm thinking about is peptides. Now, I, I'll drop a bag on a peptide, honey, okay? Because that's really going to work towards helping your hair. And let's talk about what, where, why, when, how, and all the good tea.

So, peptides basically are short chain amino acids. I talk about amino acids all the time because they're basically building blocks to repair the protein of your hair. So, your hair is made up of 90-something percent keratin. Keratin is a protein and it is the building blocks of your hair. Whatever type hair, insert hair type, texture, all of that, keratin needs amino acids to help rebuild that keratin. So, it's important because it's very important because it's like the scaffolding that really upholds your hair, and if the scaffolding drops, everything will drop. So, polypeptides are very, very important when it comes to strengthening your hair, when it comes to repairing your damage, supporting follicle health, and overall, it's just going to encourage growth over time. Emphasis on over time, because some of y'all be on TikTok saying y'all not my baddies, but like, people be on TikTok talking about they tried something for a week and now they got like 80% hair growth. But anyway, I'm just a messenger, please.

So, why should you watching this video actually give two, two damn about peptides? Well, you should care if your hair is shedding and breaking. If you got thinning at your crown or your hairline, and if you have heat or color damage, peptides are your girl, okay? They're going to be your bestie, they're going to be the person that you're going to call because you have a toxic relationship with extensions, with hair color, with all the things that make you look and feel good, but they're not good for you. I.e., I'm one of them, okay? Like, you know what I'm saying? I'm, I'm guilty. So, no tea, no shade. And I listen and I judge depending on what it is that we're talking about because, you know, you just got to be careful out here in the street.

So, where do you use peptides in your routine? Peptides are going to be found in scalp serums, which I'm going to name a few. Um, if you have any dope hair growth serum, should have peptides in them, okay? For follicle support and for hair growth, leave-in mask or treatments. And that's going to be mainly for strand strength, to get your strands stronger, and for hydration. And then, you know, you want to layer them into your routine just like you do with skincare. So, scalp first for follicle stimulation, and then you want them on the actual hair shaft, and that's for repair and hydration. So, anytime you put peptides on your scalp, that again is for scalp health, follicle stimulation, and if it's on the shaft, if it's like mid-length or whatever, that's to repair the actual hair, um, and hydration of the hair. Okay?

So, you know, you're going to see results. You have to think about the hair growth cycle when you think of everything. Consistency is the miracle, right? It's not going to be overnight. So, if you want to see hydration, if hydration is your goal, you're going to see that within four to six weeks. And if you want more density, and if you want retention and less shedding, that's going to be about eight to twelve weeks. Okay? So, just like with retinols, right, that you put on your skin, it takes time. You don't put a retinol on one night, two nights, three nights. You don't put it on for a week and then see results. It is over time. And the longer you use it, the better the results. You know, people, by the time you start seeing people with skin, you know what I'm saying? Like, skin that's skinning, understand that they've been using retinols for years, for a long time.

Okay, so now I'm going to give you a list of my Bevy approved products that have peptides in them. Not all peptides are created equal, but for the sake of time and me not going 30, 45 minutes in videos anymore because, you know, attention spans and ADHD, let's just get right to the point. Let's go.

So, the first one, this one is about $23, 20-ish, right? Cuz things vary depending on where you buy it, how you buy it, and all that. But The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density. Yes, it does work. It doesn't work overnight. You need to use it at least three to six months to start seeing change. Anything that you're going to use to biohack is going to take time. Why I like it? Because it supports visible fullness and it reduces shedding. Okay. It has Capixyl, Redensyl, and Procapil. These are three of the industry's leading peptides right now for hair growth. These peptides have clinical studies that support and back the efficacy. Now, this is not the only product that has these in them, but these ingredients, they come in a good formulation, and they do work for hair growth. Okay? You're not going to find a lot of serums, hair growth serums at that price point, $23. What's the therapeutic dosing that they have here? I don't exactly know. Um, but you're not, but even if they have just a drop, it's going to be better than zero in another product. If you're using drugstore, I'm sorry, drugstore, while it will help to support hair growth, it is not going to stimulate. But these peptides, specifically Redensyl and Capixyl, these peptides are the goats. There are clinical studies to back them. Okay? And then, you know, these, what they do is they're going to signal your stem cells to stimulate new growth and strengthen your hair, right? So, the way you use it, you're going to apply it directly to your scalp every night, every other night. You need to test it on yourself, patch test to see your sensitivity levels because everyone is different. If you do it every night and it's irritating, reduce it to maybe three times a week. And if it's that, then one time a week. And if you just can't use it, then just stop. It's not for everybody. But dermatologists really love this and it really does work. So, The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density. It really does work. Not because it's The Ordinary, but because it has three of the major peptides in them for hair growth that has studies to support them. That's Capixyl, Redensyl, and Procapil.

Now, the next one is the Verb Density Peptide Hair Serum. This one is also in the same $25, about $25 mark. Now, it improves density just like the other one. It reduces fallout, and it's going to hydrate the scalp. Now, how this works? It has a biopeptide complex plus niacinamide and ginseng, and this is good for follicle stimulation and oil balance. I don't know if the video came up before this one, after, I don't know, but niacinamide is the goat ingredient to have in your hair care product. Niacinamide is going to not only hydrate, but it's going to, is it elongate or extend? Is going to extend the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle, which is the phase that's activated when you are pregnant and you, and your hair is just growing, is thriving, is full, is thick, is long. That's because your hormones are pretty much conspiring to have you in an anagen phase. And that anagen phase of hair growth that you're in when you're pregnant is what you want. And it's because of the hormones, because of the baby, that is extended, and you don't quickly go into catagen, then telogen, which is shedding. You stay in anagen. And the game of hair growth, the key, the major game, the major key to hair growth is extending that anagen phase. And niacinamide is the goat for doing that. So that helps. Ginseng is going to help with circulation, and all of that is great for follicle stimulation, which is obviously biohacking hair growth. So that, again, at that price point, is decent. Now, I have a video on here, the Beyoncé one. That one is really great. But if you don't have $50-something dollars, these are two to consider. Okay. Now, there are clinical studies that show a 200% increase in visible density with the Verb one, and you're going to use that daily on your dry scalp. Okay. Now, 200% increase is a lot. Again, I don't know how many subjects. I don't know all the details. So, those numbers can seem a little inflated, but I'm just the messenger.

The next one is the K18 Molecular Repair Mask. This repair mask I've been using for eons, for eons, okay? Now, since it's kind of come out. It's really dope. It's really great. K18 has their own proprietary peptide that really works for repairing brittle hair, reducing breakage, and repairing not hydrogen, but disulfide bonds. Right? Disulfide bonds are the ones that are like the deepest. Those are the ones that you, if you repair them, you're really repairing your hair. You're not just helping fix the structure of your hair. I.e., if you straighten curly hair, that's instant damage to the hydrogen bonds. So, when you repair the hydrogen bonds, you're just getting that curl pattern back, right? Versus repairing real damage. You want to go down to the disulfide bond. And K18 and, um, Olaplex does that. So, now it has their patented K18 peptide that mimics and rebuilds your own natural hair's structure, and you use it obviously in your hair as a leave-in. The manufacturer instructions have changed many times, but the way that I use it, which I believe is still the way to use it, is you wash your hair without conditioning because you don't want the silicones and the alcohols of the conditioner to inhibit or to impede, to basically block the penetration of the K18 peptide into the shaft and the cortex of the hair. So, once that penetrates, you leave it in for four minutes so it activates, and then you can style as usual. Um, everyone does something different after the four minutes. That's up to you. That's not this video. But yeah, you leave it in four minutes, and then you do what you do. You know what I'm saying?

Then there's one that's a lot more affordable, and it's the Dove Bond Strength Peptide Mask. This one is a combination of, um, like I said, amino acids and peptides are pretty synonymous, but this one is amino acid plus a peptide blend that seals and smooths the cuticle. You're going to use this after your shampoo. And this, when I tell you, you're going to get pro results, professional results at a drugstore price. Dove is really like stepping the game up, especially in the hair care game. Don't sleep on the Dove products. I don't care for the packaging because it looks cheap to me. But I'm telling you right now, this blend, this amino and peptide blend, while it's more of a blend and it's not like a strong active ingredient, the blend together is really, really good for really just having that great improvement to the hair. Now, I believe this one only improves hydrogen bonds or mends hydrogen bonds. It doesn't go as deep as K18 to the disulfide, but I'm telling you, for drugstore price, it's not a dupe. It's a good alternative. And, um, yeah, if you don't have severe damage, this is good. If you want to keep, especially when you go from straight to curly, this is a good product.

Um, the next one is the Plum Coconut Plus and Peptide Hair Mask. That one is about $15. This one is going to hydrate and strengthen your hair. This has peptides in it, but the thing that really, really works here is the squalane, which is a humectant. Squalane is another good humectant. Not my favorite. My favorite is hyaluronic acid, but I think squalane is a lot better than glycerin. So, glycerin is like not at the bottom of the totem pole, but it's here. Squalane is here. Hyaluronic acid, in my book, is up here. And it depends on, like, in the amounts that you have it. But the squalane is going to really help to hydrate the hair. It's going to pull moisture from the atmosphere. I love humidity. Humidity makes my hair and my skin just absolutely beautiful. Beautiful. Because I'm always wearing some type of humectant that's going to pull from the atmosphere to bring moisture to me, to my skin, to my hair, my scalp. That's it. You just use it. It's a hair mask, right? You use it how you would use a hair mask.

So now, like I said, peptides are really, really good for people who have color-treated hair, chemically processed hair, or heat-damaged hair, i.e., your girl. And it's going to be gentle for sensitive scalps. And it's non-comedogenic, so it's not going to clog your follicles, which can lead to hair loss over time. And it's compatible with most routines. And even better if you can layer, right? Like I said, if you layer your peptides like you do your skincare actives, chef's kiss, right? So, if you have peptide in your shampoo, peptide in your treatment, in your leave-in, you are in for a really good treat. And depending on where you put it on your hair care process, on your hair care routine, it changes its function a little bit, which we talked about earlier.

So, honestly, my final prescription, y'all, is that you absolutely add peptides to your hair care routine. It's not a marketing word. Can companies use it as a marketing scheme and ploy? Absolutely. They'll just throw an amino acid in there that has very low, that's not really optimal for anything. But because it's an amino acid, they can say it's a peptide, right? Because peptides are, are essentially amino acids, but not all amino acids are so-called peptides with bond-building capabilities. But if they throw an amino acid in there, and I'm trying to think of a really basic one that I can't think of off the top of my head right now, they can just say, "Hey, this is a peptide," and you're like, "Let me just Google what's a basic." Hold on. Yeah, I mean, there's, there's basic ones. It's giving me like cysteine and stuff, but that's not even basic. Like, I'm trying to think of like one that's really basic, a basic amino acid, and it's not coming to me. And I promise you it's something basic like raspberry or something. I'm not saying it's raspberry, and I don't even remember, but, um, I'm just being facetious with that. But I'm just saying, like, there's really basic ones that don't really have that many benefits or is not that rich in benefits for hair growth, and then they're calling it a peptide. But I just gave you some real products with some real good peptides, different price points. Go for it, baddies, and layer them up. Get the serum. Get the shampoo. Get the treatment. Get the this. Get the that. All right. Love you baddies. Bye.
