Duomo: Bible & Daily Devotions2:11

Transcription

Jesus said many believers won't make it. I always assumed most believers make it to heaven. Then I read what Jesus actually said. Many will try to enter and will not be able. Luke 13:24. Not few. Many.

These aren't atheists. These are people who did everything right. People who went to church, prayed, believed, and still got locked out. They believed they were saved. They were wrong.

That verse kept me up at night. I'm 52. Been in church my whole life. Tithing, small groups, men's breakfast, all of it. But if someone asked me to explain my faith, I'd freeze. Quote something I half remembered. Change the subject.

30 years of Sunday sermons and I couldn't tell you the difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing him. That's not faith. That's hoping I got lucky.

Most Christians are exactly where I was. Can't explain the gospel in their own words. Never studied what Jesus actually said about salvation. Follow feelings and tradition, not scripture. Assume they're safe without ever checking.

I don't say that to judge. I say it because I was the definition of that list. Then I found something that changed it. Not a Bible study I'd quit in 2 weeks. Not a reading plan that felt like homework.

Audio. 10 minutes a day. Scripture broken down so it actually makes sense. Sticks with you, builds on itself. First time in my life I understand what I believe and why. Not because a pastor told me, because I learned it myself.

My wife noticed first. Said I talk different now, pray different. I know what I believe. I can explain it, defend it, live it. That verse doesn't scare me anymore.

If you've been in church for years but still couldn't explain your faith under pressure, I get it. That was me. But you don't have to stay there. Tap to start actually knowing scripture, not just hoping you do.
