10 Must Add Players to Pick Up in Your League Before Week 8

Today we are breaking down the 10 players who can actually help you improve your fantasy team on the waiver wire right now. As every week goes on, the waiver wire gets more and more bare. But this week actually has some pretty nice hidden gems, you could say, on there. Let's get into it.

And we could start with a rookie running back who, there is a lot of nuance in this pickup, right? But overall, you should be adding Kyle Manungai in basically all 12-team formats and even some 10-team formats that have deeper benches as well, because this guy finally delivered a breakout game. I say finally because there was some hype about all of these seventh-round rookie running backs coming into the season. Obviously, J.K. Dobbins being the biggest one of those. But we even had some Kyle Manungai hype. And there was a thought after the bye week, maybe he'd get involved. He wasn't after the bye week. De'Andre Swift saw 100% of the backfield opportunities. But two weeks after the bye week now, as we enter week seven, 13 carries for Kyle Manungai. Looked awesome out there, by the way. 81 yards, 6.2 yards per attempt, scores a touchdown. You scroll down here, he also adds two receptions for 13 yards. So, the seventh-round rookie running back just came out here and posted nearly 100 total yards, 15 opportunities.

Now, you have to say, it's not like he's taking over this backfield when De'Andre Swift looked awesome as well. 19 carries, commanding usage, 124 yards, six and a half yards per attempt. By the way, this was in a game De'Andre Swift saw over 20 opportunities. Again, a game when he came into it injured. He was questionable for this game, like highly questionable. But man, the Bears shifted to being more of a run-first team. They were able to, when playing with a lead against a weaker Saints defense. He got the most carries in his NFL career, the most yards, and his first ever touchdown for Manugai. So, week seven was a very big success. And you can tell that Ben Johnson had his fingerprints all over this Bears running game. It looked like the Lions running game using those two-back sets. That's what it looked like right here in Chicago this past week. They finally got it clicking after a few weeks after the bye week. You could see the implemented changes on the rushing attack. And I honestly think it's going to continue. Like, I think moving forward, we're going to have De'Andre Swift be the Jahmyr Gibbs of this offense. Manugai be the David Montgomery of this offense. I think they're going to split backfield usage. This past week, we just saw a career-high 46% of the snaps for Manugai. Now, maybe Swift only plays 52% of the snaps because he was dealing with that injury coming into the game. But I think there's a real world where you're going to see more times than not, both of these running backs be involved for 8 to 12-plus touches each, depending on the game script. Maybe De'Andre Swift is out there for a little bit more if they're trailing. Maybe if they're playing with a nice lead, Manugai is out there a little bit more. And Manugai was playing on third downs. As you can see right here on Fantasy Left, this LDD snaps, this means long down and distance. It was split 50/50. So, he was staying out there. It wasn't like he was being subbed out for De'Andre Swift. They were each having their own drives as well in this game. So, everything looked pretty good overall. Swift gets 20 opportunities. 15 opportunities go to Manugai. That's solid, especially this late in the season, if a committee backfield is starting to emerge in what looks like a quality offense. Definitely an improved rushing attack this past week with Ben Johnson. You would think that that could continue. Well, I want to get a piece of it, especially because it's pretty bare out there in the waiver.

This is kind of the breakdown according to PFF. The light blue here, little bubble, is De'Andre Swift, and the dark blue is Manugai. You can see the goal line, De'Andre Swift was still getting. Early down usage, though, was a near 50/50 split. 26 snaps for Swift, 23 for Manugai. You come down here, third downs, you were getting one more to Manugai. Two-minute offense was still going to De'Andre Swift. So, they were kind of splitting some of that key usage. Swift, for the most part, still operating as the clear workhorse, two-minute offense and in the red zone, but still splitting, definitely, the early down usage. If you're not familiar, Manugai, as I've said, a seventh-round rookie. He's out of Rutgers. He's had solid seasons, back-to-back years of over 200 yards at Rutgers, commanding 250 carries per season, as you can see right here, according to his college stats on Player Profiler. He was averaging over five yards per carry. Now, he's not known as a pass catcher. Over his last two years in college, he only averaged 11 receptions per season. So, like, in this backfield, that's probably just never going to be his role. He did catch two balls this past week, though. So, I think no doubt about it, Manugai has to be the priority at the running back position. Like, assuming Woody Marks is not available anymore in your league and maybe some of those more obvious names that shouldn't be rostered to comment on guys, somebody who stands out this week on the waivers.

Now, at the wide receiver position, a second-round player, former sixth-round pick for the Miami Dolphins, their wide receiver Malik Washington is becoming interesting. And I think a lot of people aren't really noticing this. Like, he played in a game this past week. Like, everything was terrible, by the way. Obviously, Mike McDaniel, maybe by the time you're watching this, is potentially fired. Tua was atrocious, he got benched for Skylar Thompson, of all people, a rookie that went in the later rounds out of Texas. Right? Has a lot of flaws to his game. Everything was terrible. Even the weather, like, there was 50-plus mile per hour winds at points in that game for Miami, which is not really being talked about. Like, I'm sure that hurt the entire passing attack. And that basically resulted in no offense. Like, if you look at Tua, 100 total yards on 23 attempts, only averages 4.3 yards per attempt, has three interceptions in this game. They basically go out there and get blown out by the Cleveland Browns, who are also not that great of a football team. So, you look at this and you think, probably going to be some changes, either at the quarterback position, at the coaching position, maybe even both of those. And you come down here and you look at this and you see Malik Washington led the team with five catches, only 30 yards. He's basically being used in these short parts of the field. So, it's not going to lead to a lot of big plays. But when you're earning eight targets in an offense this past week that just got even more injuries. Like, we already know Tyreek Hill is done for the season, right? So that's why Malik Washington became on the fantasy radar in the first place. But then you factor in that Jaylen Waddle got hurt this past week. Now they're saying that they think he's going to suspect that he returns next game and that maybe this was just a bruise and the game was out of hand. They were trying to be safe. But also, Darren Waller, who's been operating as a wide receiver, we've talked about it on this channel just as recent as a few videos ago, he has a strained pec. Now, they have to do an MRI. They're doing it today as I record this. If it is a torn pec, it will be season-ending. So, a strained pec at worst is probably going to be a multi-week injury, especially when you're a tight end. And even if he's playing wide receiver, you're still going to have to block and chip for like five to at least 10 snaps a game. And if that thing is torn, he's done for the year. What this basically tells you that at least for the next few weeks, maybe Jaylen Waddle's less than 100%. And Darren Waller, odds are he's not going to be playing. And yeah, I know his tag says tight end, he's been a wide receiver. With him out, Malik Washington might even see a little bit more usage to help you through the byes. By the way, there's six teams on bye this next week. If you're not familiar with Malik Washington, this guy was a beast his final year in college, as you can see right here, I believe, at Virginia. 110 catches, 1400 receiving yards. I mean, 110 catches is insane. Yeah, it was Virginia. He transferred there from Northwestern. So, he ends up going to this team last year. Obviously, when you get drafted on a team that has Tyreek Hill, has Waddle, I mean, I think I'm pretty sure like a lot of people forget Odell Beckham Jr. was on this team to begin last year, you're going to be pretty buried on the depth chart. But now he's getting some opportunities. Let's see if his role grows, especially if Darren Waller is out.

It goes a really long way to helping my content reach more people. So, he's worth adding. And maybe the most popular add this week is going to be Michael Mayer. And I, I don't want to throw a ton of cold water on this, but we have to set some expectations. We have to give him credit, of course, for having a historic day. He set a rookie tight end record, beating Antonio Gates by like 50 yards for a rookie tight end receiving yards. Seven catches, 164 yards, and a touchdown. The rookie tight end records for the Chargers, by the way, that compared to Antonio Gates. Overall, this is the third most by a rookie in NFL history. The most in over 40 years since Mike Ditka had like 180 yards 40 or so years ago. So, Michael Mayer looks good. He looks great. They were hyping him up in training camp when they drafted him and saying that we think this guy could be a wide receiver. He's basically operating as a wide receiver right now. He's tall, he's lengthy, he's fast, and he can catch passes. And this past week, we saw the usage hit another level. 77% of the routes, he sees 18% of the targets. Now, the reason why I say let's keep our expectations in check is because, I mean, first off, obviously, he's not going to have 164 yards every single game. But also, Justin Herbert's not going to throw 55 times per game. In the second half, he's not going to drop back 30-plus times because his team is trailing by two to three scores the entire second half. Like, Michael Mayer only had 18% of the targets in this game. If you go to a normal Justin Herbert game where he's throwing 30 to 35% of the time, Michael Mayer's going to get in those type of environments five, six, maybe seven targets, but probably closer to five. So that's why I say keep your expectations in check. There's still an entire wide receiver room that he has to compete within. Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and oh yeah, Quentin Johnston, who didn't have the best game this past week, two catches, 30 yards, and a touchdown, but he's still coming back from a hamstring injury that he suffered just two weeks ago. Most wide receivers miss two to four weeks, and he's just playing through it at this point, or at least coming back early. So, I think Mayer is definitely worth picking up. There's no doubt about it. In college, he was productive. 72 catches last year, 922 yards. These things, especially 112 targets. You don't see that often for tight ends. Not many tight ends are doing that in college in a single season. He's obviously productive. You don't have 164 yards as a rookie tight end if you're not a quality player, right? We've seen, again, only two other guys have done that in their NFL career or in NFL history as a rookie tight end. So, he's obviously great, but there's just a lot of guys here. And Herbert's not going to throw 55 times a week. So, don't go crazy on the waiver wire. Tight end is a disgusting position. So, if you want to, if you want to throw out there 15 to 20% of your FAB, sure. But I'm not going crazy on Mayer.

All right, let's go from a rookie tight end now to a wide receiver who we have to kind of add a little bit of context, but he is worth adding. And that's going to be Parker Washington of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their former sixth-round pick back in 2023 out of Penn State. Let's just talk about this a little bit right here. You can see this past week, four catches, 52 yards. Nothing exciting there in a game where they trailed by multiple scores all game, got blown out by the Rams. You know, something that's that exciting, but he did see 10 targets for the second time this year. Trevor Lawrence does love throwing him the ball. And we have to break this down because in this game, Brian Thomas ended up getting what seemed to be some sort of mild shoulder injury. We'll see what happens there. According to Jeff Mueller on Twitter, he says, "Not much seen here on the video, but the concerning part is that this is the same shoulder that he dislocated in college and landed directly on in June this year and it seemed like an issue. Maybe it's a labrum tear that he's been playing through," is what he's trying to say. So, the good thing for Brian Thomas is that the Jaguars are on bye this week. Coming out of the bye week, we have to track those injury reports very closely. If he's missing practices, limited in practices, that's why you want to snag Parker Washington. A guy that they really trust and basically since he's broken into the league as a rookie, has been putting up big performances. Maybe not consistently because he just doesn't get consistent playing time, but he's always out there, always producing.

Another guy who's been producing at least lately, at least week seven, Thursday Night Football, we could say, is going to be Pat Freiermuth, right? This is a former second-round pick, also out of Penn State, right? Him and Parker Washington in this video so far. But he just had his best game of the season, easily. Uh, five catches, 111 yards, two touchdowns. A lot of that was propped up by a 60-yard touchdown late in the game. What it looked like the Steelers were going to win. They ultimately could not stop the Bengals on defense. But Aaron Rodgers likes throwing to this guy and there's a reason he's in this video. Sure, it was obviously a big performance, but they had to change some things on offense. And they changed Freiermuth's role because in this game, Freiermuth ran 71% of the routes. He saw 18% of the targets, but more importantly, he saw his most slot usage of the season. Freiermuth, between playing in the slot and out wide, was like operating as a wide receiver in this game over 50% of the time, which has not been the case. He's mostly been an inline blocker, inline tight end, receiver this season. So, he was kind of being used in these different ways. And it makes a lot of sense because they just need other pass catchers. I mean, you look at the Steelers, you have DK Metcalf for the most part's going to be a boundary receiver. Calvin Austin's been banged up. Roman Wilson, they said they wanted to get more involved, he basically has never been involved in his career. And then you're just looking at a bunch of depth guys on this team. Like, there's nobody else here. You're talking about Jaylen Warren out of the backfield, DK Metcalf on the boundary. And after that, like throw your hands up and hope that one of the tight ends or Calvin Austin can make a play. Them putting Pat Freiermuth in more advantageous ways for him to win, sliding out wide and it paying off for 100 yards and multiple touchdowns. I know Arthur Smith is crazy. He changes stuff up on offense all the time. He makes you want to pull your hair out. But maybe, just maybe, they can stick to this since it worked so well last week and Freiermuth can have a consistent role. And the interesting thing is that this offense is actually playing well. These are the 2024 numbers in the NFL. This is sorted by overall yards per game, fewest to most. The Steelers were easily a bottom 10 team in yards overall, yards per game, and touchdowns scored. That's changing this year. Now, they're not number one overall, but they're having way more touchdowns. They're having a lot more yards per game at this point. They're becoming at least closer to league average to some weeks above league average in these categories. Thank you, Aaron Rodgers, a Hall of Fame quarterback who clearly, when he has time to throw, can still whip that ball around. They're actually becoming a quality offense right now. So, if you're a second pass catcher on that team, like Freiermuth could be, you could be fantasy relevant. And let's not forget, this is a guy who came back from an injury last year, so he had a shortened season and he was still able to have seven receiving touchdowns. This is a guy who in his rookie year had seven receiving touchdowns. Even if he just starts to become more of a red zone weapon for Aaron Rodgers, who at this point in the season, sure, DK Metcalf has been scoring from outside the red zone a lot, but they don't really have a true red zone weapon. Gadgety plays for Kyle Pitts here and there, but if that could become Pat Freiermuth, that's a role that we know Rodgers, when he finds a guy that he likes in the red zone, he'll just keep throwing to that player. So, Freiermuth is an interesting add.

And honestly, a really interesting add who maybe in like a week or two will become a priority add is Breshad Perriman of the Kansas City Chiefs. He had his best game of the year. Another seventh-round rookie, by the way. We talked about Kyle Manungai. Now, Breshad Perriman. Best game of the year. 14 carries, 39 yards in this game. He then also adds five receptions. Five receptions for 42 yards. So, 19 overall opportunities in this game. Now, there's a couple of reasons for this. This was still the clear-cut, after Isiah Pacheco had a great week six, usage-wise, it was still his backfield, but there's a few reasons why Breshad Perriman got more involved. The first reason is that this was a blowout. So, later on in the game, they were just taking it easy with Pacheco. They were up 31-nothing. The game ended 31-nothing. They pulled their starters like in the third quarter. So, that's part of it. But Breshad Perriman was active early on in this game, especially as a pass catcher. And then he got more involved on the ground because Kareem Hunt got banged up. It says, as you can see from Jeff Mueller right here on Twitter, it says, "Looks like his left leg ankle got rolled up on this block from Skyy Moore's touchdown and a good amount of pain for Kareem Hunt." So, Kareem Hunt gets banged up in a game where there's a blowout. There's no reason for them to try and force him back in that much into this game. So, Breshad Perriman sees a little bit more usage. Now, maybe it's not going to continue moving forward. Maybe Hunt's injury is not all that bad. We'll have to see as the week goes on. But either way, he got a lot of reps in an NFL game. They put him out there and they trusted him and he looked pretty solid. He also has like his own playbook on this team because these five receptions, a lot of them are like these gadgety type plays, like maybe some mixture of like what Kadarius Toney was supposed to be for this team and Jerick McKinnon. So, it is nice. Like, five catches, a lot of these came when the game was a little bit closer in the first half for 42 yards is a legitimate role. If he then can start to carve out, even if it's not 14 carries a week because of the blowout, even if it's just like eight to 10, six to eight, and you're getting a couple of targets per game, that's enough to be a stash option just in case Isiah Pacheco was to miss some time. And by the way, Pacheco wasn't all that efficient in this game. Less than four yards per carry. Hasn't been all that efficient basically since week two of last year. We like that the usage is increasing for Pacheco, but we just have to see that efficiency as well. This was the matchup. You're up multiple scores. Bad Raiders defense. Max Crosby gets hurt as well, and you still can't be efficient on the ground is concerning.

If you're not familiar with Breshad Perriman, he transitioned from being a wide receiver to a running back last year in college and he looked great. Very similar to like Tyjae Spears' career path. You get 5.7 yards per carry, 1300 rushing yards, but this guy's known as being a pass catcher. Look what he did in college when he was a former wide receiver at Miami, then transferred to SMU. He was catching 33 balls, 2239 as a running back last year, a running back-wide receiver hybrid. So that's why when you see him have these five-catch games for 40 yards like this past week or in previous weeks when his only involvement is catching like three balls for 20 to 30 yards, it's because he has good hands out of the backfield. They trust him there because that's what he did for most of his career. So he already has that built-in frame that we like for fantasy as a pass catcher. If something happened to Pacheco, a talented, versatile rookie running back with juice in this Chiefs offense, you would have to spend all your FAB. Why not just spend like $3 this week?

Let's go to the wide receivers. Now, we're talking about a lot of tight ends and running backs. Let's give you another wide receiver. Arguably the number one waiver wire add this week at the wide receiver position, assuming like Josh Downs and Darnell Mooney are already rostered in your league, is Alec Pierce. Because Alec Pierce has been honestly just straight up good this season. Let me talk about it. Let's just look this past week. He had a concussion. He missed some time and then he came back last week and it was sort of just like a limited role, but he still looked solid out there. This past week though, two weeks removed from that concussion or three weeks, five catches, 98 yards in this game. He earns 10 targets. He comes out here, he leads the team with a 31% target share. Like Michael Pittman had the red zone touchdown. Michael Pittman was thrown to on some key third downs. He had a good game, 28% target share. 31% target share is elite for Alec Pierce. Now, we must mention that Josh Downs was not active in this game, but Josh Downs and Alec Pierce are not operating in the same parts of the field. Alec Pierce has been mostly a downfield. He's running these outside routes, these dig routes, intermediate to deep routes. That's not where Josh Downs is operating. Alec Pierce, Daniel Jones has been highly accurate, especially downfield this year. And Alec Pierce has been his number one target in that part of the field. And really, like his only target. Let's not forget this is a big six-foot-three, 208-pound wide receiver out of Cincinnati. And he has speed. I mean, he has borderline 4.3 speed. A lot of people forget that, right? The dude is 4.41 speed at 6'3. He is talented. Anthony Richardson was highly inaccurate last year and the year before that. We didn't get to see a lot of Alec Pierce in terms of the consistency when he has a consistently accurate quarterback, which he has this year. But we have already seen Alec Pierce, Whoop, there's the alarm. We've already seen Alec Pierce in past seasons pop off. This is just last year alone with terrible quarterback play. Let me remind you, Anthony Richardson, right? And Joe Flacco, who was not playing well last year when he was on the Colts, 21 and a half fantasy points, 16 fantasy points to start the season. Then he had another 22-point breakout game, right? He has another game down here of 24 fantasy points, 14 fantasy points. You're getting four or five games last year in like the stone-cold worst quarterback situation where he's having multiple top 12 finishes. Now he's getting consistent quarterback play, amazing balance on offense with Jonathan Taylor, Shane Steichen just dialing it up right now as well as a play caller. Alec Pierce looks legit. He should not be on so many waiver wires. He's available on like 90% of leagues.

Now, Cole Kmet is also available in 90% of leagues because he's been a backup tight end. He's been injured. He hasn't done anything. He's a rookie, but he is a top 10 overall pick and his opportunity is about to happen. Now, you're like, "S, what the heck? What are you talking about? He only had this past week three catches for 24 yards. Why do I want anything to do with Cole Kmet?" Well, that's because this past week, Cole Kmet had a back injury. He was doubtful to return. Now, we'll see. We have to track this. If Cole Kmet was to miss time, maybe by the time you're watching this, a report comes out that he's going to go on IR, he's going to miss a game or whatever it might be. If he was to miss time, Cole Kmet needs to be rostered because he is a highly talented player in an offense that knows how to use tight ends. Cole Kmet this past week, once Cole Kmet went down, after running 22% of the routes, Love became the full-time tight end, running 63% of the routes, quietly earning a pretty respectable 17% target share, by the way. That's really solid. You look at what this guy did in college last year at Michigan, in an offense that only really ran the ball. 28% target share is elite. Is elite. You look at the numbers. Only 582 yards, 56 catches. But again, he was in a run-first offense. He was commanding 35. I have the numbers right here. Let me, let me, let me just tell you. He accounted for 35% of his team's yards, 30% of their receptions, and 42% of their receiving touchdowns last year in college. This guy was fantastic. That's why he was a top 10 overall pick. And oh yeah, now his coach is Ben Johnson, who we already know can do things with tight ends. We saw Sam LaPorta's rookie season. Sam LaPorta last year, even though a slow start, he had a solid second half and a good season. Oh yeah, T.J. Hockenson during his time together in Detroit was a top 10, easily top 10, top three fantasy tight end in 2022 at the beginning of the year before some injuries. Right. This guy, all he produces is borderline top five, definitely top 10 fantasy tight ends. And now, if Cole Kmet is out of the fray and they're not splitting that work anymore for however many weeks that might be, Cole Kmet might have his opportunity to break out. I will say I do expect the Bears, especially after their success this past week, to try and run the ball whenever the game is close or they're leading. But that being said, Kmet needs to be rostered.

And I was pretty surprised to see that Bam Knight, like I wasn't even going to include him in this video because I was like, "Just assuming he was rostered in too many leagues." I go and I look on Yahoo, at least, he's only rostered in 22% of leagues. Last week he was a clear obvious waiver add. Of course, Kamani Vidal was as well, so he took a lot of probably the waiver priorities and budget. But Zonovan Knight, Bam Knight, needs to be added. This past week, he once again operated as a workhorse running back. 14 carries compared to just seven for Michael Carter. Way more efficient, over four yards per carry, just 1.6 yards per carry for Michael Carter. Bam Knight also added three catches for seven yards, which is nothing in your standard leagues, but in PPR, it's another four fantasy points. He had 17 opportunities in this game compared to just nine for Michael Carter. And he had 17 opportunities despite leaving the game for a certain amount of time, missing some snaps to get evaluated for a concussion. That also needs to be added in that context. At the end of the day, he played 48% of the snaps compared to 36% for Carter. Earnest Johnson was involved for 17%. Again, this probably is above 50% if it's not for the concussion. Sees a clear 58% of the backfield carry. So, I'm not saying he's like a slam dunk player by any means. Like, it's still Bam Knight on an offense where multiple running backs are involved. But, at the end of the day, like the byes are here. Six teams are going to be on bye this next week. A bunch of teams are on bye. Like, if you're going to get a guy who's coming off of a 17-touch game in a tough matchup against Micah Parsons and the Packers defensive line, like there'll be softer matchups in the future. That guy needs to be rostered in more than 22% of leagues. Now, I get it. Trey Benson is getting really close to returning, right? He went on IR. He was going to miss four weeks and the report came out that he can miss four to six weeks. Like, he should be only a couple of weeks away from returning. But even if that's just a couple more weeks of getting Zonovan Knight, especially in multiple flex leagues during the byes, to be in your starting lineup, he'll project out for somewhere between 10 to 12 points. He's getting the red zone and goal line usage. He scored a goal line or red zone touchdown in week six. He got six out of eight red zone opportunities this past week. I mean, that's enough for me to put him in the flex spot if I'm in a bind.

The number one quarterback add because I'm surprised this guy is still available in 58% of fantasy leagues right now is Jaren Hall. This past week, Jaren Hall, another great day for fantasy. They obviously collapsed in real life for that game, but three more touchdowns. Some of them were very fluky, deflected pass, Theo Johnson runs it in, right? That type of stuff. Wide open Daniel Bellinger, but the points still count the same. On 33 attempts, he had 283 yards, three touchdowns, another rushing touchdown in this game on five rush attempts. Jaren Hall has been, believe it or not, since week four, a top five fantasy quarterback. I don't know if that's going to stay. I don't know if Brian Daboll is going to be this coach for the rest of the season here. And then that throws things off. But as of right now, Jaren Hall, especially during the six teams on bye, needs to be rostered in all league formats. I think at this point, we should probably also roster Xavier Legette after what he just did. Now, it is a pretty. That's why I want to just talk about this one quickly for the former first-round pick. Just had the best game of his career, right? Nine catches, 92 yards, a touchdown, a team-high 11 targets in this game. Nobody else on the team did anything. Even the first-round pick, J.J. McCarthy, had more coverage his way. Only three catches for 33 yards. So, Xavier looked amazing in this game, but it was the best game of his career. It's clearly an outlier. Bryce Young is dealing with a high ankle sprain. Not going to play next week. So, it's a disgusting situation that you still probably don't want to start Xavier Legette. But it's hard to ignore the guy when he's playing 92% of the routes, when he's seeing 35% of the targets. All I will say though is that this team, when the game stays close, is going to want to run the ball a ton. They're going to want to run the ball a ton. J.J. McCarthy is still the number one wide receiver on this team, but maybe another former first-round pick and Xavier Legette can get involved a little bit more. I'm just not sure I'm going to trust Andy Dalton in this offense next week to help Legette. But if you're in a deep league, 12, 14-man league, bye-week hell, he's not that bad of an add.

I could say similar things for Jahan Dotson, though. Jahan Dotson is just not seeing the targets. Like, once again this week, he did this in week two. He had one catch for a touchdown. He does a little bit better this week. Two catches, 55 yards. One of them goes for a touchdown. In this game, he has a 39-yard reception. Jahan Dotson, like, it seems like almost every single week the dude's scoring a touchdown. He's not getting a lot of targets. Like, when he sees at least five targets in a game, I think he's averaging since the end of last year like over 13 fantasy points a game. He just doesn't see five targets a game. But Drake Maye, right now, is legitimately playing like a top five quarterback in the NFL. Drake Maye literally just set the record. Even though Tom Brady was a Patriot for many years, the record for completion percentage over 91% completions this past week. And this Patriots offense looks really good. Like, moving forward, they're going to be projected most weeks for somewhere between, I would say, 23 and 27 points every week. And if that's the case, a wide receiver who's going out there and running every single route and playing as the X receiver in Jahan Dotson should be rostered in most league formats. Though, be ready for next week's tough matchup against the Browns.

So, there you go. There are 10 players and some bonus players that you should consider adding on your waiver wires right now. But, if you want to see some of the key takeaways from week seven that are going to definitely be important, not only for this upcoming week but the rest of the year, this video dropped on Monday. You could check it out right here. This is everything that just changed in fantasy football. The 10 key takeaways.
