I have a question for Christians.  And I have an answer in the Bible. It says that there is only one sin that cannot be forgiven, and that is blasphemy against God.  Well, it specifically says blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Yet it also says that if you blasphemy against Jesus, that can be forgiven. So if Jesus is God, then how do you explain that?

Well, Jesus doesn't say blasphemy against the Son can never be committed. He just says those sins will be forgiven.  Meanwhile, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit was understood by church fathers like Aronyaeus and Augustine to be a specific type of sin, which is to reject the gospel and the testament of the spirit despite being given enough evidence that it's true. And this, of course, makes sense with the context. The Pharisees just saw Jesus perform miracles, and yet they're still rejecting the call of the spirit to follow Jesus.

Simply put, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is rejecting the call of God and remaining in your sin. As C.S. Lewis said, the doors of hell are locked from the inside. All who are there have chosen to be there because they don't want to submit to
