The old year is behind us now. Whatever happened, the good, the challenging, the unexpected, it's part of our story. But today, we stand at the beginning of something new. 12 fresh months, 365 blank days, and we get to choose how we start them. The wisest choice we can make is to start with God, inviting him to lead us through every moment of this year. Let's pray together and place this year in his hands.

Good morning, Father. Here I am at the beginning of something new. A whole year stretches out ahead of me, and I want to start it with you. Not halfway through when things get hard. Not at the end when I'm looking back right now. At the very beginning, I'm inviting you in. Father, I'm giving you this year, all 12 months, every single day. I don't know what's ahead, but you do. You see the whole year already. So, I'm placing it in your hands and trusting you with whatever comes. Your word says in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to him and he will make your path straight." Lord, I'm trusting you with this whole year. I'm not going to rely only on what I can figure out. I'm submitting every part of this year to you and I believe you'll make my path clear.

Lord, I'm starting this year with gratitude. Thank you for bringing me through last year. Thank you for every lesson I learned, every blessing I received, every way you showed up for me. I'm carrying that gratitude into this new year, knowing you'll be just as faithful.

Father, help me walk with you every day this year. Not just on Sundays or when I remember. Every morning when I wake up, remind me that you're here. Every evening when I go to sleep, help me rest in the peace of knowing you've been with me all day.

Lord, I want to grow this year. I want to become more like you, more patient, more kind, more loving, more generous. I don't want to end this year the same as I started it. Change me, shape me, make me into who you created me to be. Your word says in Lamentations 3:22-23, "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning." Father, your mercies are new every morning. That means every day of this year is a fresh start. If I stumble today, tomorrow brings new mercy. That gives me so much hope.

Father, I'm bringing you my dreams for this year. The things I hope for, the goals I have, the changes I want to see, I'm laying them all before you. If they align with your will, bless them. If they don't, redirect me. Your plans are always better than mine.

Lord, help me let go of what needs to stay in the past. Old hurts that I've been carrying, mistakes I can't undo. regrets that keep pulling me backward. This is a new year and I don't want to drag the old into it. Help me release what's behind so I can fully embrace what's ahead.

Father, I know there will be challenges this year, things I don't expect, moments that test me, days that feel hard. But I'm not afraid because you'll be with me. You've walked me through hard things before and you'll do it again. Your word says in Isaiah 43:19, "See, I am doing a new thing now. It springs [music] up. Do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Lord, you're doing new things this year. Even when I can't see it yet, you're already working. You're making ways where there seem to be none. I'm watching for the new things you're doing.

Lord, I'm asking for wisdom this year. Wisdom in my decisions, wisdom in my relationships, wisdom in how I use my time and resources. I don't want to waste this year. I want to live it well, and I need your wisdom to do that.

Father, help me love people [music] better this year to be more understanding, more patient, more quick to forgive. Let my relationships grow stronger because I'm learning to love like you love. Teach me to see people the way you see them.

Lord, I want to be present this year, not always thinking about what's next or what I need to do. Help me be here in each moment, noticing the beauty around me, appreciating the people with me, experiencing life fully instead of rushing through it.

Father, I'm trusting you with my family this year. Watch over them. Protect them. Draw them closer to you. Whatever they face, be their strength. Whatever they need, provide for them. Keep them safe in your care. Your word says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." Lord, you have plans for me this year. Good plans. plans for hope in a future. I don't have to worry about what's coming because you've already planned good things.

Lord, help me be faithful in small things this year. The daily choices, the quiet moments, the little acts of obedience that no one sees. I know that faithfulness in small things leads to bigger things. Teach me to be consistent, reliable, trustworthy.

Father, [music] I want to hear your voice more clearly this year. When you're guiding me, help me recognize it. When you're speaking to my heart, help me listen. I want to be so close to you that I naturally know which way to go.

Lord, give me strength for this year, physical strength for my body, emotional strength for my heart, spiritual strength for my soul. I can't do this year in my own power. I need your strength flowing through me every day.

Father, help me celebrate the good moments this year. To really enjoy them, to be grateful for them, to recognize them as gifts from you. Sometimes I rush past blessings without stopping to say thank you. This year, I want to notice and celebrate every good thing.

Lord, I'm asking for peace this year. Peace in my mind when things feel chaotic. Peace in my heart when things feel uncertain. Peace in my spirit [music] knowing you're in control. Your peace that doesn't make sense that stays even when circumstances are hard.

Father, help me be generous this year with my time, my resources, my love, my attention. You've given me so much. Help me give freely to others, not holding back, not being stingy. Let generosity flow from a grateful heart.

Lord, I want to make a difference this year. I don't need to do big impressive things. Just let my life count for something. Let my presence matter. Let my words encourage. Let my actions reflect you.

Father, teach me contentment this year. Not the kind that settles and stops growing, but the kind that's grateful for what I have while still moving forward. Help me not always be reaching for more, but to appreciate what's already in my hands.

Lord, [music] I'm committing my work to you this year. Whatever I do, help me do it with excellence. Help me work as if I'm working for you because I am. Let my work have meaning, have purpose, have impact.

Father, protect my mind this year, from worry that steals my peace, from thoughts that pull me down, from lies that tell me I'm not enough. Fill my mind with truth, with hope, with thoughts that come from you.

Lord, help me rest this year to know when to stop, when to pause, when to be still. I don't have to be constantly busy to be valuable. Teach me the rhythm of work and rest, activity, and stillness.

Father, I'm trusting you with my health this year, with my body, my mind, my emotions. Help me take care of myself because my body is a gift [music] from you. Give me the discipline to make good choices and the grace to not be obsessed with perfection.

Lord, open my eyes this year to see opportunities, to see where you're working and join you there, to see needs I can meet, to see moments I might otherwise miss. I don't want to walk through this year blind to what you're doing around me.

Father, help me be quick to apologize this year when I'm wrong. Quick to forgive when others hurt me. Quick to show grace because I've received so much grace from you. Let humility and mercy mark how I treat people.

Lord, I want to praise you more this year. Not just when things go well, but all the time. Because you're always worthy. You're always good. You're always faithful. Let praise become my natural response to life.

Father, keep my heart soft this year. Not hardened by disappointment or hurt, not cynical or bitter. Keep me tender, [music] compassionate, able to feel deeply and love freely. Protect my heart while keeping it open.

Lord, I'm asking for joy this year. Deep joy that comes from you, not from my circumstances. Joy that stays even on hard days. Joy that bubbles up because I know I'm loved by you. Fill me with your joy.

Father, help me finish this year well. not just start strong, but end strong. Help me be consistent all the way through. Let me look back at the end of this year and see growth, see faithfulness, see your fingerprints all over my life.

Lord, thank you for new beginnings. Thank you for fresh starts. Thank you for this gift of a new year. Thank you that with you I never have to face anything alone.

Father, I'm excited about this year. Not because I know what will happen, but because I know who will be with me. You're going before me. You're walking beside me. You're holding me up. That's all I need.

Lord, this year is yours. My days are yours. My life is yours. lead me, [music] guide me, shape me, use me. I'm all in with you for this whole year. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
