Donald Trump just walked out of the worst interview I have ever seen him give. And it is because Kristen Welker did not back down. She kept pressing on the January 6 weaponization fund, pressing Donald Trump on his failed war, his tanking economy, and he just couldn't take it and wouldn't. He got up and left after screaming at Welker for minute after minute after minute of him slowly and then quickly, very quickly unraveling. So badly he quit the interview. I'm serious. He got up and left saying that he was done being treated quite frankly so unfairly. But he wasn't. He was being asked real questions. Questions that he couldn't answer. And we are going to cover it all. But I just want to start with that first or I should really say last moment first. Donald Trump getting up and walking out mid-interview. It was embarrassing. It shows how sad and weak he is. And honestly, at this point, none of us should be surprised.
"The election was rigged. It was a dirty election. And it's happening again right now in California."
"Presented evidence happening right now in California right now. It's Look at Look at what's happening in California."
"It's doing well in California."
"In California, it's No, they're not. They're they're dropping fast because it's a rigged election. Let me tell you, it's 4 days and they aren't even close to coming up with. You know why they're doing that? Because they're cheating on the election."
"There's What? Do you have evidence to support?"
"All I have to do is look. All I have to do is look and I listen and I listen to people and let's see what happens."
"But sir, that's not evidence. Do you think it's appropriate? That's how they count the votes."
"Do you think it's appropriate that they have an election and 5 days later they're nowhere close to picking up?"
"State local officials acknowledge they are slow. They're urging They're crooked."
"They're urging the votes to be counted quickly. That's how they vote."
"Crooked just like you're crooked. Your press is crooked. And Meet the Press is crooked."
"To be fair, I'm not crooked. But let's"
"Well, you play right into their hands."
"You're either crooked or you're stupid. You play right into their hands with this rep. You know that these elections are rigged. Your network knows that they're rigged. You know that I won an election in a landslide and I got 94% bad press."
"But Mr. President because you have no credibility."
"But you've never presented evidence that it was rigged. Let's keep talking about I want to talk about Todd."
"You have more evidence. There's more evidence than ever presented."
"Your elections in this country. We're like a third world country. Your elections are crooked and you're crooked and Meet the Press is crooked and so is ABC and CBS and CNN. Mr. President, your one-sided crooked network."
"All right, let's call it quits cuz I've had enough. Thank you, darling. Have a good time,"
"Mr. President. Let's please. I traveled all the way to Wisconsin."
"I've sat in the rain all I know. I sat in the rain with you for an hour on and off in the rain and I've given you enough time. You ought to straighten out your press because you know what? A country can never be great with a dishonest."
"Listen, we traveled all the way to Wisconsin for the interview. I spoke with President Trump on Saturday and we both acknowledged the complications during the interview posed by the rain. He agreed to sit down with me for another Meet the Press interview."
This is truly just pathetic stuff, but I don't really know who would be surprised at this point to see it. Donald Trump can't take tough questions. It's why he's actively calling on CNN to fire Caitlyn Collins. It's why Barry Weiss exists and Larry Ellison so Donald Trump doesn't have to face a real media. It's why Scott P was just fired because the man cannot answer and cannot deal with emotionally tough questions. He is so disturbed and unsettled by even a little bit of pushback that he is going to lash out and leave. And the rain pouring down during the entire interview that you might have heard cuz it was a little loud on there was like I guess like overstimulating Donald Trump cuz his brain doesn't work anymore. Like sure it was loud. It was raining. It wasn't the greatest environment in the world, but that's not a reason for you to quit your interview. Kristen Welker said that Donald Trump agreed that he would sit down again. I do not see that happening in the future because Donald Trump does not do interviews like this. He's not asked real questions. The last interview Donald Trump gave, he was told by the journalist, actually, actually I shouldn't say journalist, propagandist at the New York Post that he looked great for his age. His heart was so healthy. And the interview before that was with his daughter-in-law taking a tour of the ballroom. Donald Trump does not do adversarial media, which is why he is so freaked out when he does because he's not used to any pushback. It doesn't happen in the White House either. It's only starting to happen with Republicans in the Senate, which of course Donald Trump was asked about with his weaponization fund. Of course, that was the main moment of the interview, Donald Trump leaving, but you should stick around and and see the moments that got him there, like this one right here.
"Do you think anyone who attacked police officers on January 6th should get taxpayer money?"
"I wouldn't be inclined to say so, but I have to see it. I can tell you this. 97% of those people, you look at them, the FBI or whoever it was, cuz you had a lot of crooked cops. You had dirty cops. Comey was a dirty cop. A guy like Bolton was a dirty cop."
"There's no evidence."
"Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Oh, you think Comey was a straight cop."
"People who pleaded guilty to assaulting police officers."
"Comey was a dirty cop. They had FBI assaulted. Listen to me."
"They had FBI agents ushering them into the building. They had FBI go into the building. Those people walking around, they're looking always in the side. They weren't in. They were being ushered into the building."
"There's no evidence."
"You had a bunch of dirty cops. And frankly, what they did was weaponization of our government."
"Sir, there's there's no evidence of that. More than a thousand people. No, there's none. You know what to do? Try looking at the tapes one time."
"Would you take it home?"
"Look at the tapes one time."
"But 172 people did plead guilty to assaulting police officers."
"You know why they plead guilty? Because they told they were going to jail for 15 years. If they didn't, should they? They plead guilty because they were frightened. They went down. They were ushered into a building. Many of them were arrested without even going into okay with them receiving taxpayer dollars."
"The people were destroyed by dirty cops and by weaponization. Many of those people should be compensated. Now, with that being said, the, as I understand it, the weaponization fund was going to set up a group of people, uh, people that could be picked by anybody, fair people, smart people, and they will go on an individual case basis."
"Okay."
"Now, I don't know what's going to happen with the weaponization fund. I love the idea because people like you, the fake dirty press, the crooked press, people like stupid Biden, he's not smart enough to know what's going on, but people that surrounded him,"
"surrounded his beautiful resolute desk in the Oval Office, what they did to the lives of people, they destroyed people. They sent people to jail who did nothing wrong."
"Just just to be very clear, there's no evidence of what you're saying, but about Todd Blanch. Listen to me. Listen to me."
"There's tremendous evidence. There's nothing but evidence. The election was rigged. It was a dirty election. And it's happening again right now in California."
"Presented evidence happening right now in California right now. It's Look at Look at what's happening in California."
"It's doing well in California."
"In California, it's No, they're not. They're they're dropping fast because it's a rigged election. Let me tell you."
Of course, he's going to want to keep the weaponization fund. Why wouldn't Donald Trump want $1.8 billion dollars of our tax money? That that is the presidency. It's the great grift for him. It's a business opportunity. So, we need to make sure absolutely, and Jamie Raskin has already stated this, that Todd Blanch needs to put in writing that there will be no weaponization fund. Something needs to happen with the Congress. This is not just a promise that we are going to accept. That has been the entirety of the Trump political career promises that are broken in favor of him making money off of us. That has been this entire administration. And Trump was actually asked about that. Uh, and he wasn't too happy that he was.
"Gas is up, diesel is up."
"It's all coming down as soon as the war is over."
"Well, 70% of farmers say they can't afford fertilizer. What's your message?"
"Farmers are doing very well. Let me ask you, what is your message to farmers? Many who support you, but who say they're struggling, who say they're strugg to advantage and other people. And you know who paid for it? China last term. You know, I had a great first term. I had the greatest economy ever. And you know what? This one's blowing it away."
"What's your message to farmers, though, Mr. President, who say they are struggling? They're struggling to make ends."
"Are you ready? Are you ready? Am I allowed to talk? You keep asking questions and you don't listen to the answers. I love the farmers and the farmers love me. The farmers trust me. In the first term, I had something very similar. China and others were and Canada, which was brutal. They were taken advantage of our farmers. They don't take advantage of anymore. I gave them $28 billion split up. They never had a payday like that. And the farmers love me. And they came back and they voted for me in record numbers. You know that? Nobody's ever even come close now because of the fact that we had a choice. I had a choice to make. I could keep it going. The farmers were doing great. Fertilizer was very cheap. Everything was cheap. Gasoline was very low. Everything was very low. I could have kept it that way. But I said, I have to take a little bit of return. The farmer is going to understand it better than anybody. We're going to have higher gasoline. We're going to have a little higher fertilizer, etc., etc. But I'm going to get rid of a nuclear weapon in the hands of very dangerous people. Excuse me. Wait. It should have been done for 47 years. No president had the guts to do it. I did it and I've done it. It's almost complete. As soon as that's complete, gasoline prices are going to drop like a rock."
First of all, Donald Trump doesn't care about farmers and the idea that he does is actually quite laughable. Uh, the second funny thing about this, although again it's never actually funny, is that him claiming credit for a bailout of the farmers was the direct result of Donald Trump creating the conditions by which farmers needed a bailout, like starting a trade war with China back in 2019. That was the reason that soybean production across America tanked. Why it just essentially doesn't exist anymore. Why it's been outsourced to Argentina and that's where China's buying their soybeans. It's like, yes, Donald, you gave them money cuz you screwed them long-term and destroyed their businesses. I don't think that's what farmers wanted. I think farmers wanted to farm, not a bailout, and it doesn't actually do anything. And so Trump praising himself for a bad solution to a problem he created is the most Trump thing in the world and shows that he just hasn't learned, which is anyone really surprised by that. And speaking of haven't learned, Trump has asked about his his amazing deal which um it doesn't exist by the way and it was the perfect place for us to cap off.

"Unlike Obama, Obama flew a Boeing 757, a plane I know very well. They took the seats out and they loaded it up with $1.7 billion in cash from the banks in Maryland and Virginia and DC. They they emptied out the banks and they gave them 1.7 in green and they gave them tens of billions of dollars just kept giving them money and it didn't work."
"Would any again that never works. But again, Mr. President, you promised that you were going to negotiate a better deal. Do Do you wish you done it in your first term when you ripped it up at that before you ripped it?"
"No, they weren't ready. No, this is much better. This is much better. If I would have done it in my first term, uh, Israel wouldn't have been ready."
Hear that sound? That sound of thunder, lightning.
"Is that going to interrupt, guys?"
"No."
"Okay."
"People will understand. We're in a farm."
"That's true."
I talked about this in a video this morning, but Donald Trump's insistence on comparing himself to Barack Obama really will, more so than anything, be his political downfall. Um, the JCPOA is and will have been a better agreement than anything Donald Trump can get at this point because of how poorly he has conducted this failure of an illegal and unjustifiable war. It's just like he will not get a better agreement. But he is insistent that we compare everything that he does to Barack Obama's actual diplomacy. And so it will only make whatever horrible deal Donald Trump gets worse by nature of the comparison. So, his constant demand for that to happen is just going to blow up in his face, much like this interview did. But that is what he has to look forward to the rest of his term. Everything falling apart and everyone hating him. And we are going to cover it all. Good on Kristen Welker. Again, that is how journalism should be done.
