You are most welcome to the presence of the Lord. Praise you the Lord. And this morning, we will begin our teaching on vital lessons on King David. Please open me to Acts chapter 13, verse 22. Acts chapter 13, verse 22. Easy to read version says, after God took Saul away, God made David their king. This is what God said about David. David, the son of Jesse, is the kind of person who does what pleases me. He will do everything, everything I want him to do.
We'll reflect on three lessons in this first part of the message. The first lesson is that David believed in complete obedience. Complete obedience to whatever God says should be done. That was a major principle of this man, a guiding principle that endeared him to the heart of God. He believed in complete obedience to whatever, whatever God says should be done. Complete obedience. And this is one factor that will endear you to the heart of God. Complete obedience to whatever God says, whatever God can say, whatever God instructs. Complete obedience.
And no wonder at the end of the day, he'll, he could give this testimony. He said, he's the kind of person who does what pleases me. He will do everything, everything, everything. Not someone, he will do everything I want him to do. And so, there is a search, and I am speaking to men and women who have the same dimension of the spirit of David upon them.
These are the keys you must also work with, and you will get the same results, and in fact, better results than David had. Complete obedience to anything God is saying. Complete obedience. So please, madam, please, sir, take note of this as you continue your work with God. There will be times God will give you a very specific instruction. I want this done this way. Please do it exactly. Do it to the extent that God specified. There is a reason why he specified to that extent. Don't do it to some, don't do it 90 percent, don't do 95 percent. Do it 100 percent as God instructed. They be believing complete obedience to whatever God says should be done. And you will see that at different times, God could, uh, something else could have been done naturally as a result of the circumstances prevailing. But David will go out of his way, out of his way, to do it exactly the way God wanted. Complete obedience will take you far with the Almighty God. Complete obedience as a husband, complete obedience as a wife, complete obedience to whatever God has instructed. Complete obedience as a son, complete obedience as a daughter, complete obedience as a disciple, an instrument in the hands of the Lord, a vessel in God's hands. Obedience.
Whatever is the dimension of the action demanded, complete obedience. Complete obedience. Let your obedience be complete. God is watching. It's what will differentiate you from so many other people. It is what will eventually, with your consistency in such acts of complete obedience, will now endear you so much to the heart of the Almighty God. And God will prefer you. Every time you call on Him, God is already waiting to answer. He will never allow contrary forces to bring you down. The same way He stood with David.
Lesson two. David believed in unconditional loyalty to God. Unconditional loyalty. You know, people will tell you, it's good to follow God. It's good to worship, or but don't, don't follow God blindly.
If you go without advice, you cannot operate at the level of favor and divine endorsement that David operated. David had a strong personal resolve. Personal resolve. It was of his own resolve to blindly follow whatever God says. Blindly follow whatever God says. And whatever timeline. This is a critical aspect where most of us and most believers could miss it. One of those things that made David very unique in studies in leadership was that David was patient to wait for God's time. He was, you know, very much unlike a young, courageous, and brave man. You will expect him also to, you know, want to make everything happen, you know, as quickly as it was possible. No, no, no, no. David understood the two major components of God's will. The first major component of God's will is what God wants. What exactly He wants. And that covers all the other things: location, uh, magnitude, approach, you know, instruments to be used, all of that is the fixed part of God's will. The second major aspect of God's will is timing. The time. That's the second major aspect of God's will. And this is where a lot of people miss it because most people want things at their own time, and God doesn't work that way. David was different. When he came, when he came to the issue of divine timing, very strangely, as courageous as he was, even when he could have his way, David did not force himself into what God had promised he would do for him. God made it clear he was already anointed to be the next king of Israel. But David never forced his way on that room. He was patient. He recognized that the man on that throne was equally anointed by God. So we remember the son never applied for it. He never prayed for it. It was God. I also chose Saul. Yes, it's God. I also chose Saul.
And God must have looked at so many of the men in Israel before making that choice. So, but some made very costly mistakes that God wasn't ready. And if you wouldn't check, that's another lesson on its own. If you check very well, even when Saul told him that God had rejected him, God was raising, you will not read, very strangely, you won't read that Saul went to God in prayer and cried and pleaded with God for mercy.
Go and check it after chapter 15 of First Samuel, where he was told that God had rejected him. You won't, you won't read after till he died that this man now started, you know, took some time to prevail with God, to plead with God, to repent before God. He never, didn't bother. He didn't bother. He didn't bother. Bhagwan checked the life of David. At any point in time, David made a mistake, made an error of, did something that God showed him was not right. David immediately repented before the Lord and was ready to take it far, even in prayers, in fasting, in repentance, until God lifted up that yoke of penance. So David was patient, very patient to always follow and wait for God's time. Wait for God's time. Your refusal to accept God's time and wait for God's time can offend God and move you away from a specialist. Please, patience is a powerful virtue. Do you know that sometimes, even that this issue of patience is what we now prove who is who in this, in the school of, in the realm of loyalty? Yes, time will prove who is who in the realm of loyalty because with time, some people who we are pretending will start manifesting. Those who we are, whose loyalty wasn't deep, will also start manifesting. So with time, it is only those who really have deep-rooted conviction that will still be on the line. So God uses what may appear as delay sometimes to come to prove and to test and to prove the depth of our loyalty and commitment to Him.
Lesson number three. He was personally determined to enforce whatever was revealed as God's agenda.
I'm going to, I wonder, we are closing with this third blessing, and I want you to particularly take note of that keyword, enforce. Enforce. David was an enforcer of God's agenda. He wasn't just a hearer of God's agenda.
He was an enforcer of God's agenda. So if there was going to be a clash, if there was going to be a fight, and a big fight, in order for what God is saying to be done, David is still 100 percent committed to that, to that move. Many people will back out when it begins to take a lot and there's some risk, there's some threat involved in doing what God is saying, supporting who God is choosing. But David will go the extra mile to enforce, to enforce. That was why at the moment they told him, uh, some people have put Adonijah as they've been stolen, delicious king over Israel. So did you dedicate God? Did you not say God told you, is Solomon your son, Solomon that would succeed you? And the soldier sat down. He was in his old age. Even in his old age, he still enforced what was the revealed will of God. He's still enforced. Immediately David gave instruction, and Solomon wasn't enthroned. And the moment Solomon was enthroned, there was a shift in the spiritual realm. The moment the news went out, Solomon has been introduced, all the people that had teamed up with Adonijah immediately they withdrew. I declare over your life that that reign of glory and promotion that God has ordained for you, no man will succeed in taking it in the name of Jesus.
Every man, every woman, every platform, institution that will need to rise up and play a role for God's portion for your life to be established, the Lord will stir up their hearts to do so in the name of Jesus. Where resources will be required, more than there is enough resources shall be deployed on your behalf in the name of Jesus. Men will rise up to do what God has said concerning you. God's portion for your life shall be supported and enforced until it becomes a testimony. Can that man or woman say loud?
