[Music] A number of years ago, there was a story that rocked Erit Israel. It seemed like an ordinary story. Two postseminary girls riding on an egg bus having a conversation with one another.
And in the conversation, one of them started talking about a mutual friend that had just become a kala. She had just gotten engaged. And they're like, "Yeah, it doesn't make sense. The boy is from such a fine family and he's supposed to be a superstar." And the girl, me, she's got shortcomings. She has problems. She has challenges. They clearly did not do proper research. And the boy clearly didn't see through the girl.
And when they finished talking about this young lady and her shock, all of a sudden, there was a tap on the shoulder of one of the girls. Behind them was a middle-aged lady. She says, "Girls, I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. You see, the girl you were talking about is engaged to my son, and no, we didn't see any of the shortcomings. We didn't see any of the character flaws, but now that you're bringing them up, I'm definitely going to go home and we're going to break the shak. Thank you for getting us out of this before it was too late."
The girls heard this and they began to tremble. They began to shudder. They had just literally destroyed this girl's sh. They tried to backpedal. No, she has so many qualities and even her character flaws and her shortcomings are outshined by her wonderful midas that she has. And the woman said, "I'm not buying any of it. I'm sorry. It's over."
The girls began to cry and to weep. They realized they had destroyed this young lady's life. Right before the woman behind them got off the bus, she turned to the girls and she says, "Girls, I need you to know something. That young lady is not engaged to my son, but imagine if she was."
My friends, we don't have to go through such a traumatic situation to realize, to understand how powerful our words are. A negative comment could destroy a life and a positive comment could build a life. If you want to have a quality of life and you want to gift a quality of life to the people around you, be careful. Don't speak negatively. Only speak positively. [Music]
