For those of you who are new to the channel, my name is John Griffin. The channel's called Life 2.0 because after spending 30 years in business, finance, IT, I found that my time was more valuable than anything anyone could pay me. And I was tired of working for other people and having them control my time. So, I quit my job. And that was a really liberating experience. However, it did have consequences. So, I had to sell my house and my car, and we had to rent a little space. And shortly after that, my wife, probably thinking she had better prospects elsewhere, decided to leave.
So, my two daughters and I started to rebuild my life with these, with two of these three dogs. The last one was just added a few months ago. His name is Doo, and he's the biggest, and God bless us, he is only a puppy. But Life 2.0 now is about that stage in midlife where you come to the understanding that you have control, that you can shape your life intentionally with your personal preferences, your desires, your unique flavor into something that is completely satisfying and fulfilling and uniquely yours. And each of us has our own path to walk. There is no right way. There is no wrong way. It's about just discovering that path that'll take you to the places that you want to go.
Too many of us believe that in order for us to achieve fulfillment in our lives, we needed to get married. And too often times those marriages blew up in our face. Lessons need to be learned from those experiences; otherwise, we repeat them. So I spend a lot of my time talking about relationships, about divorce, divorce recovery, marriage, and uh, and liberating yourself from the idea that you need to be in a relationship to be complete.

Who's a good dog? Yeah. You got this thing wrapped around your tail, Shelby. Let me see your face. Let me see you, buddy. Let me see your face. There you are. What a good boy.
So, Shel's my oldest. He's like 12. He's a golden doodle, F1 for those of you who care, but he's a he's sort of the old man of the the crew here. And he is definitely a quiet alpha. He leads, and he's very uh, calm. Very good dog. Jax, his companion there on the side, he's about 9 years old. Jax is an Aussie doodle. And it turns out Australian shepherds are also known as shepherds, and and Jack lives up to that completely.
When Doo and Jax got together, Jax did not like Deboo coming in. I think he felt threatened from a hierarchical standpoint that Debb was going to take over the number two spot. Well, Doo, as a puppy, was oblivious to that. So, Jax tried to put him in place. Now, Shelby put Doo in his place by barking at him, and Doo would comply. Jax is an idiot, and he attacked Doo multiple times, like 10 or 12 times. Doo outweighs Jax by 40 lbs. Doo kicked at Jax's ass repeatedly, over and over and over again, until the last time when I thought Jax was going to die. I mean, Doo had him by the throat, and I figured that was it. I think it's a testament to the breed. Debbu could have killed him, and he didn't. He could have killed him so many times, and he didn't.
So, I'm a big believer that uh, Bernese Mountain dogs really are big, gentle giants. He does not like to cause disruption or pain. Yesterday I was walking out my front door, and it was a bunch of dogs being walked by a couple of guys at the end of my driveway, and they were all yapping, and Debb rushed, and I had all three leashes in one hand. So he broke my uh, my grip and ran down there to see those dogs, and there must have been five of them all barking at him, and I thought, "Fuck, he's going to eat one of those dogs, and I am going to be the bad neighbor." But he didn't. He just stood down there and looked at those dogs like they were crazy, and uh, he seems completely at peace with it. No violence at all. So he's a good dog.
So that's the crew. You've met them all. Shelby, Jax, and Doo. Good dogs. Doo is still learning. That's why you see him on a leash from time to time. Um, but he's getting better. He's going to be a good dog eventually. So, welcome to the channel. This is Life 2.0. No.
