Hi and welcome to Kid Care. Today I'm going to show you some program basics so that you can get started recording your food program claims in Kid Care.
To get started, go to app.kidcare.com. Use the login ID and password provided by your food program sponsor.
Once you're logged in, you will see the "My Kids" screen. From here, you'll see any children that are already enrolled. Tap the "Add Child" button to enroll a new child. You could tap the gear icon to select which children you want to view on screen by status and change how the program sorts your children, either by first or last name.
Tap a child to view their information. From here, some information is going to be editable. You can also withdraw a child or print the enrollment form if needed. Tap the camera icon to select a photo. Once the photo is selected, tap the check mark to load it into the program.
Go to the "Check In and Out Time" screen to mark children in attendance for the day. Just tap a child's name to mark them in at the current time, or tap the down arrow to add or change the time manually. When a child leaves for the day, just tap their name again to mark them as out.
Go to "Meals" > "Enter Meal" to record a meal for the day. Select infants or non-infants. Select the meal that you wish to record. You can record foods individually. Just tap on the component and then start typing the food name. Or you can use one of your saved menus. To use the saved menu, tap the "Menus" button. Or, if you record a meal that you would like to save for future use, tap the "Create My Menu" button.
If you serve a bread or grain that is whole grain rich, be sure to mark that that food was whole grain rich by tapping the slider. Tap a child's name to record them as present for the meal. Be sure to save before leaving the screen.
Recording meals for infants is similar but slightly different because you will need to record the foods for each infant individually. So just tap on "Infants" and you'll tap the name of the child. Select the food option. And if you want to add developmental foods, you'll tap that slider to "Yes" and it opens up some more component options for you. Once you've recorded your infants and attendance, hit save once again.
Once meals and attendance have been recorded for the entire month, you'll need to submit your claim to your food program sponsor. To do that, go to "Food Program" > "Send Sponsor". This screen will give you an overview of your claim. Check it over to make sure your claim is correct before sending it. Once you agree to the terms and conditions, you'll have access to the "Send" button. Notice it currently says "Not Sent to Sponsor". Once I hit send, you'll notice that the date and time that it was sent is documented at the top of the screen.
