If you're looking to get into AI, you probably heard of selling NA10 workflow and AI automations. You might have even already tried it for yourself. But what if I showed you there's a way to charge five times the price of selling any workflow with significantly less work. And you do not need to be technical at all. And the insane part of what I'm going to show you is this will position you as a true AI authority.
But first, you need to understand why you probably shouldn't get into selling AI workflows. You see, workflows are completely invisible to clients and candidly, they don't even care about them. They can't visualize what it does. They just care about the results. Also, every single day, more people are learning tools like make.com or NATS, making your technical skills increasingly commoditized. Not only that, but the tools themselves, like recently, NAT brought out a textto building component to it. So non-technical people can now go in and say, "Hey, I want a workflow that does this and N will actually build that workflow for them." On top of that, there is also a plethora of offshore developers who are willing to work for $8 an hour and deliver exactly the same automation works as you are. See, clients are naturally just going to go to the cheapest freelancers because they see your delivery as a purely technical execution and it's not focused or positioned as an outcomebased thing. So, your problem isn't about your skill. It's you are selling the right thing in the wrong way.
If you want to escape the commoditized workflow pricing and start commanding consulting level fees, hit subscribe down below. I show you exactly how to reposition yourself above the technical competition every single week.
So, here's what's changed everything for me. I stopped selling what I built and I started selling what clients actually needed, the outcomes that they wanted. Okay, this is a key differentiating factor. The exact same automation gets valued completely differently based on how you frame it. One gets priced at 2,000 and the other can get priced at 15,000. See, the old positioning is I build nan workflows to automate a process. It's a $2,000 project, right? The new positioning is I audit your operations and design an AI transformation roadmap, $15,000 engagement. The technical work might overlap 60%, but the perceived value is 7 times higher to the end client. And ultimately, that is the only person that you are trying to impress. So you're no longer competing with the workflow builders. You're in a completely different market. You are in a completely different league.
But this only works if you understand what clients are actually buying when they hire an AI consultant. You see, clients hiring you for a comprehensive AI consulting engagement aren't paying for technical implementation. They are paying for something that is far more valuable to them and ultimately you. You see, they're drowning in AI options. They are completely paralyzed by analysis. They need strategic direction from somebody in the know. You will hear this all so often when speaking to traditional business owners that they hear about all this amazing AI stuff out there. They might have even dabbled, but they ultimately have no idea where it fits into their world and ultimately their business and how it can impact them in a positive way. They fear of making expensive mistakes by choosing the wrong tools, the wrong approaches, even hiring the wrong people, heading in the wrong direction for their business. So they need someone to translate the AI capabilities into concrete business value for their specific situation. You see, being an AI consultant means being the person who removes uncertainty from their lives and it gives them a clear path forward for AI adoption.
Now, let me show you how this exact framework makes the transition possible. So, phase one is discovery. You deep dive into their current operations, their pain points, and their business objectives. What are they wanting to achieve strategically, not just technically? You then design the strategic road map by mapping out all of their current processes and seeing where AI can transform them and then building out that road map and tying it into ROI projections. This is how we get buying from them. Then we have that detailed implementation plan. So detailed specifics about each initiative, the recommended tools, the recommended workflows, the execution timeline. And the best part of all of this is because there is a million and one people who wanted to do AI automation and they thought that was their entry point. It is incredibly easy to outsource a lot of this for pennies on the dollars. And like I said at the start of this video, there is so many vast improvements that have been made within platforms like NAN where using natural language, you can now build a lot of these workflows. So you don't need to be super techy anymore. Then after that, you have monthly strategic sessions and also maintenance check-ins on all the implementations that are being built. And this can be a recurring amount anywhere from 2.5,000 to 12,000 a month per thing you have done for them. So, for example, strategic advisory at Dun and Company, we charge $5,000 a month for that. For maintenance of AI agents, it's anywhere from two and a half to $5,000 per agent that we implement.
So, which part of this requires insane technical skills? None of it as you can see. But look, if you already have technical skills, it's not a complete waste. Okay? So, if you are doing the technical work, it just became part of a larger strategic offering. So you can still identify automation opportunities, but now you're evaluating business impact and not just technical feasibility. So you can still design the workflows and ultimately it's going to make you more money because you are designing and building them else who obviously outsources them. But this is also part of a bigger strategic transformation roadmap for that company. It's not just a standalone deliverable. So you aren't just building a like, hey, I want this chatbot integrated into my company. It's Noah is part of a bigger lead generation and nurturing and transformation project where you might do four other components and the AI chatbot on their website for gathering leads is just a singular part of it. You can implement what clients want you to but now it is phase two of a consulting engagement rather than just being the entire offer of just coming in and doing a single automation. I can't tell you how many times I hear people in the AI automation space that come in and do deliver a technical project, but the client isn't happy because ultimately it wasn't actually the issue that the client had. It was just what they perceived to be the issue and the real issues could have been identified through a strategic consulting engagement and then building out that roadmap. So becoming a consultant, your technical credibility will sometimes actually increase your consulting values in some cases because they see you as someone that could more accurately advise on technical implementations and not just theoretical ones.
Now, let's talk about pricing psychology that makes $15,000 feel like an absolute bargain to the correct client. The secret to premium pricing isn't justifying the time investment. It's quantifying the business impact and risk mitigation to the end client. To frame your value around mistakes prevented or wastage before investing 50k in the wrong AI stack, we should do this. Quantify the opportunity cost. Every month you are currently wasting $10,000 on lead scraping manually through your sales team when the AI implementation is going to cost you X amount and it's going to give you a competitive advantage if all of the other people in the space are still doing it this manual way like you. You could also compare it to alternative costs like hey if you want to hire someone full-time to do this thing it's going to cost you 120 grand or we can build it out for you over here. It's going to cost you $15,000 and we'll charge you $2,000 a month and it will work 24/7, 7 days a week, even while you sleep. Show the ROI and connect it. We're going to save you 40K, 100K, $37,000 annually with just this one implementation. The audit and all the implementations will have paid for themselves in 6 months, Mr. Business owner.
But premium positioning only works if you are targeting clients who can actually afford to pay for transformative AI consulting. Not every business needs comprehensive AI consulting, but the ones that do have clear signals that you can identify. So you look for a revenue threshold between $5 and $50 million a year cuz they are big enough to have large budgets, but they are small enough to still need outside expertise. If they are also growing quickly, this means they will have operational constraints and bottlenecks inside of their business that will actually be stopping them growing even faster. They have AI awareness. So, leadership knows about AI, but they're completely overwhelmed by options. And this is actually really common, especially if they are active on social media. You can genuinely see how they are engaging and and what they are interested in on their profiles and you can use this as a competitive edge for you during outreach. You've also got decision urgency. So if competitors in their space are known for moving very quickly and they're outscaling them, then that it is going to be top of mind for the companies that you are going to be reaching out to that they are going to get left behind if they don't start making some big moves. An AI is a way for them to invest a bunch of money to then get a competitive edge to scale even faster and more efficiently than their competitors in the market. Another leverage point I look for is when a competitor is really scaling fast and I go to all of the competitors of this business and say, "Hey, XY Z is really scaling quickly and you are getting left behind. We can come in and do an AI operational audit of your business. We can see where you're inefficient, where we can bring in more sales, why you might be losing deals, so you can actually start scaling and competing with X, Y, and Zed. This is how you are going to become the most efficient player in the market.
Think about your social profile, your business, your LinkedIn network. How many business owners do you know with that exact profile right now? These are businesses that are trying to scale. They're trying to grow. they have been around for a while that you know want to adopt AI because candidly everybody does. So that's a pretty easy one that you could reach out to and just start offering an AI operational audit to. And here is the entry point that eliminates the too expensive objection entirely before they even get started with you. So the one I like is an AI audit, an AI readiness diagnostic and AI operational audit, whatever you would like to call it. And this is a focused two-week assessment of the business. These can range anywhere from $3,000 to $15,000 and up depending on the size of the company. But the outcome for this business is you deliver an executive summary showing anywhere from three to seven AI opportunities with the rough ROI calculations associated with them. The outcome for that business is they see your strategic thinking, your business acumen and a practical roadmap for them to move forward with and it is a natural next step for them to say, "Hey, this is amazing. Can you build us a full transformation guide and start pricing out the implementations for each stage?" You see, businesses tend to work in phases. They might buy steps one to three from the strategic road map and you they pay you 65,000 for that and then stages four to eight might be another 200,000. But what they're going to do is they're going to start with a smaller project to make sure that you deliver the result and they enjoy working with you before committing to these much bigger projects. And think about that. What if every diagnostic order you did, whether it was 3K to 5K to 10K, converted into 20 to $50,000 in additional engagement value through implementations.
Now, that thinking might sound a little bit vague or fluffy, but I want to address that directly. You see, there is a misconception to how consulting works, and people think it's somehow easier or less valuable than technical implementation, but the opposite is true. Anyone can build workflows. You watch enough YouTube tutorials, you use the natural language processes of tools like N and you can actually get extremely far and build a lot of the technical automations that people are talking about in this day and age. You see, a lot has advanced even in the last 12 months, but far fewer people can come in and analyze a business and identify the leverage points and design a transformation roadmap for that business specifically. That is strategic value that is far more valuable to experienced business owners. They need to understand that you understand them and their business and they need to see a clear path for results. Not just hey I can build this workflow for you because ultimately they do not know how to assign a strategic value or an ROI to that thing and that is what consultants provide. That is why the big four make anywhere from 20 to 80 billion dollars a year in topline revenue. They understand how to communicate to a business owner to get them from where they are to where they want to be and all the stuff involved in that.
So here's what it looks like in practice. Mid-market companies are desperate for strategic guidance on AI transformation. Like right now as you are watching this video, they have the budgets approved already to spend in AI initiatives. One of the craziest niches that I have come across right now that has enormous budgets and I guarantee this is going to shock you is nonprofits. Nonprofits have a substantial budget assigned for AI initiatives and adoption. They have urgency because their competitors are moving fast and this is all companies. They are willing to pay premium fees, large large amounts of numbers. And I'm talking six, seven, even eight figure projects to the correct people who can offer them certainty in a strategic path moving forward. And the uncertainty of the incorrect AI adoptions and road maps. You see, the market for strategic AI consultant is massively underserved compared to technical implementation. The question is whether you're going to reposition yourself as a strategic adviser or stay competing with the $8 freelancers on Upwork. So, if you want to see a complete AI positioning framework, diagnostic AI audit templates, pricing strategies to help you land those $15,000 engagements, watch this video next, and I'll break that process down step by step.
