Oh, in the name of Jesus, let there be a healing God that begins to happen in her soul, God. As she pours herself out to you, Jesus, we need you, Lord, in this moment, God, of brokenness and sorrow, God. You are a good God. You're a peace speaker, Lord.

God, you see the pain that this man's been dealing with. Lord, you asked, you saw what he requested for prayer this evening before church. God, I pray for healing to be upon this man. God, you see the pain that he's suffering from in his arm, his shoulder, his ribs. God, I'm praying for healing in his body. Lord, you're able to do it. Jesus, we put it in your hands, God, this body. Let your healing virtue flow, God.

We also need to go before the Lord in prayer for brother Aean Andreas. Amen. He's been sick. We want to hold him up in prayer. Amen. Praise God. We want to pray that God has his way in our church. Amen. There are a lot of hungry people. We need to pray for a man by the name of Malcolm. Amen. Malcolm. I reached out to him today. This is a contact from Sister Michelle Rodriguez. Hey, Sister Michelle. Praise God. She gave me a contact and I reached out to him. He was electrocuted and died and was brought back, but they had to amputate some of his toes from the electrocution. It was really bad. And he's in a bad frame of mind, but he's also going to have a church that shakes him and says that you're a walking miracle, that you're alive. Amen. And that God's got a plan for your life. So, we want to pray for Malcolm this evening. We want to pray for Jaden. This is brother Mason Blair. We also want to pray for brother Blair. He was here this morning suffering a terrible migraine. He still has a bad headache. We want to hold him up in prayer. But he brought a guest with him that he had given a Bible study to on Friday night, I believe, or Thursday night for almost three hours. They were talking scripture and just imparting the word of the Lord. And Jaden has a lot of questions. He's a 22-year-old man and he is hungry for God. He came to church this morning. He had some questions. He showed some zeal and excitement about being here. Amen. And he works. He's not available to come on Sunday nights, but he said he'll be here Wednesday night and Sunday morning. And we've got Bible study scheduled up with him. He's interested in baptism. We would need to pray for Jaden in Jesus name. Praise God. He was Jaden before it was cool. Praise God. Amen. And so we want to pray for Jaden that God would continue working on his heart. Amen. I believe that revival is here, church. Amen. Revival is here. Amen. In Jesus name. In Jesus name.
So why don't we take these needs before the Lord and we're going to pray that God continues to be with us in this service together. God, we're trusting you together for every single one of these needs. We've prayed over some that have requested for prayer tonight, but we're also praying for those Jesus who are not able to be here. God, we're praying for healing. Thank you, Jesus. Upon Brother Mason's body, God, we're praying for healing, Lord Jesus, upon brother Danny's body. You saw his blood pressure and the way that his body's reacting, God, to his dialysis. Lord, we're praying for my nana Debbie tonight in the hospital, God, that you would heal her body, Lord. I praise you, God, for protecting her, for keeping her in your hands. I'm praying for salvation in my family, God. I'm praying for redemption, Jesus, on everyone that's walked away, God, from you. I pray that every prodigal would make their way home, God. We're praying that you would not only work a miracle in their bodies, but Lord, work a miracle in their soul, Jesus. Bring salvation to our loved ones, God. We're putting our hope and our trust in you. Oh, come on, somebody with hope and revival. Let's go ahead and trust the Lord together, God. We're trusting in you. We're believing in you for greater things in Jesus name. In Jesus name. Praise God. Praise God. God bless you.
Turn with me in your Bibles to the book of 2 Corinthians. Amen. Be faithful to the house of the Lord. Amen. This week, Amen. Tuesday night, 6:30, we will be having prayer. Praise God. Here at the church, 6:30, Tuesday night, church prayer meeting. And then, um, um, also I'll be flying out with my wife on Wednesday to get prepared and ready for the Hilton Hitch party. Amen. We're going to get Hilton hitched. Amen. Out in Pennsylvania. And when he comes home, he's gonna come home with a tag along. And they'll be here till death do they part. Praise God in Jesus name. Praying blessings on that endeavor. But, um, but let's be faithful to the house of the Lord. Amen. And support whoever it is that's playing, that's singing, that's preaching. Let's get behind each other. Amen. Praise God. The church ought to be united even when the pastor is not here. Hallelujah. Praise God. We could still have good church no matter what. Amen. And so, uh, praise God. Let's be faithful to that.
2 Corinthians chapter 8 and verse number 10. Praise God. I feel this in my spirit this afternoon. Here, and herein I give my advice. All right, Paul, let's hear some words of wisdom. For this is expedient for you who have begun before not only to do but also to be forward a year ago. Now therefore perform the doing of it that as were it was as there that as there was a readiness to will so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have. For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
I'm going to read this in the English Standard Version here for us. It says it this way. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that though he was rich, yet I'm praise God. I didn't read verse number nine, but I meant to read verse number nine, but I'm reading it in the ESV so you could follow along. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. And in this matter I give my judgment. All right, here's his advice. You want to hear brother Paul's advice? This benefits you or this is expedient for you. It's profitable for you. It's good for you. All right, who wants to hear it? I want to hear it. It's good for me. It's going to benefit me. It's going to help me. It's going to profit me. This is what he's talking about. He said, "Who a year ago started not only to do this work, but also to desire to do it." So now finish doing it as well, so that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it out of what you have. For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has and not according to what he does not have.
Amen. I want to preach to us for a little while this evening. It's so good to see Cassie again in the house of God. Amen. I love you cuz praise God. Happy you're here. Everybody else that's in the house of the Lord, let's open up our heart to the word of God. Amen. And we're going to preach on this topic. Ready, set, do. Do. Not do, but do. Ready, set, do. Amen. Praise God.
Put your Bibles down one more time. Let's entreat the Lord. Jesus, we thank you for your presence. We thank you for your goodness. And we know that your word is about to challenge and to inspire, to ignite something in our soul, God, to propel us forward, Jesus. Us. I pray that we would have a readiness of mind and a willingness of spirit, God, to do what you're calling us to do, to obey that divine call, that voice, Lord, crying out, Jesus, for us to follow you in Jesus' name. And somebody say, "Amen." Praise God. God bless you. You can be seated this evening. Amen.
This is the advice from Paul which would be profitable for the church in Corinth. It would do them well and it would do us well to heed the word. Why? Because it is for our benefit. Amen. It is for our profitability. It is good for who wants things that are good for them. Amen. I want things that are good for me. I want things that are going to profit me. I want things in my life that are going to be a benefit to me and to my family. And so he said, "Listen up. This is something that's going to help you. That's going to be a benefit to you. Amen." And so then he also let them know that they started doing something. They started doing it at the same time they started to desire it. I I And that's the way it should be. Whenever we have a desire for something, then that should spark a doing. A desire should bring about doing. Otherwise, you just are left hoping. And hopes, if they're prolonged too long, become wishes. And wishes are unattainable. Matter of fact, the Bible lets us to know that hope deferred makes the heart sick. Praise God. And so when the d that desire comes, that's when also there is an action that should come from the tire. If I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, that desire will get me up off the couch and ask my wife to make me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Hallelujah. I'm just playing. Praise God. Hallelujah. Make me your own sandwich. Praise God. Hallelujah. If I have a desire for something, then that desire should prompt a doing. And Paul recognized that you started the same time last year, a year ago, you started the same time you got the desire to. They had a want to. And so they did. Why? Because they wanted to. Praise God. Help us, Jesus. We could have all the excuses in the world, but can I tell you, we make decisions on what we do and we do the things we want to do. Amen. We could say, "Well, I didn't really want to do it." Then, well, why did you do it? Praise God. We got to weigh our options and recognize that I do the things I prioritize. I do the things I want to do. I make a conscious choice with my time, with my resources, with my body. Amen. And so, they had a want to. So they did. They fell in love with the work. So they worked. The desire was ignited in them. So the doing came naturally. Their willingness led to effort. They got passionate. Amen. And from that passion stemmed in action. You see the marriage here. There is passion. And because they got passionate about it, they started doing it the very moment they desired it. They wanted to do the work. They wanted to give. They wanted to start living for God. And so, they just started doing the work. Amen. Can I tell you, it's not okay to do without the passion because it will not last. You could try to force yourself to do it, but friend, if you don't love what you do, if you're not passionate about what you do, and I'm not just talking about a career or just the way you live life, but I'm talking about living for God. Amen. If you're not passionate about living for God, if you don't love living for God, if there's no joy or zeal in your heart when it comes to living for God, friend, you won't do it forever. But if you love living for God, there's nothing that could take you away from his hand. Hallelujah. There's no temptation that is alluring enough. There's no thing in this world, no device of Satan that will distract you. Why? Because you're already doing what you want to do. Amen. I couldn't imagine living any other way. Amen. It's lasting. Praise God. Why? Because I'm passionate about the kingdom. I pray that it is said of me when people look on me, the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. Lord, I pray that your kingdom consumes me. I pray that the ministry is addicting to me. I pray that the word of God is something that I could pour my heart, mind, and soul into and eat every word from off the pages. I pray that I could be like the prophet and eat the scroll. Amen. I want to love the things of God. Because if you don't love the things of God, friend, you will not do godly things. It's a marriage. If you're going to do it, it came from a place of desire. Amen. On the same token, other side, it's not okay to be passionate without the doing. It's not okay to do the action without the passion. And it's not okay to do have the passion without the action. There's a marriage between the two of them. Amen. Why? Because if I have the passion without the action, then it's just a bunch of meaningless big talk. A lot of people could talk a big talk, but they don't put the money where their mouth is. You look at their actions, you say, "Man, you sound passionate. You sound zealous. You're saying all the right things. You're posturing yourself with a readiness. Amen. You're set to go." And to do great things for the kingdom of God. But what are you doing? Amen. And so there's got to be a marriage between the desire and the doing, the passion and the action, the willingness and the effort. Praise God. And so two things to extract from this, uh, uh, from Paul's advice to the Corinthian church is that there is a big gap between readiness. Somebody say readiness. And performance. Jesus help us. We can be ready, but when it's time to perform, we better show up and we better put our mouth money where our mouth is. What is readiness? We need to have a readiness. Scripturally, what readiness means is eagerness, zeal, or elacrity. I like that word, elacrity. Amen. Praise God. It just means a brisk cheerful readiness. Not just an obligatory readiness, but a cheerful and a brisk like you're just you're joyous about it. Amen. It's something you want to do and want to partake of. It's an excited oh yeah. Somebody say, "Oh yeah." Oh yeah. Praise God. It's a oh yeah, let's do this. Let's go. Let's get them. Amen. There is a zeal and excitement that's attached to the readiness. Not just a not just a structural readiness that says I have what it takes or I've learned what I need to learn and I've postured myself in such a way. No, but it's a spirit of willingness. Can I tell you God can't use unwilling people. Amen. He's He's only going to use people who are willing. He's only going to use people that are of a ready mind. Uh, that have a zeal and an elacrity, an eagerness, a cheerful readiness, an excitement, a fire in them that says yes, let's do this. And an acceptance of a call from God. But what did I say? There is a gap between readiness and performance. It requires a readiness but there also has to accompany it accompany it a performance. What is performance in the scripture? It simply means to execute to undergo or accomplish to bring it to finish. Amen. To bring it to a finish. Praise God. Help us Lord not to be all talk and no walk. Help us not to be all bark and no bite. Help us not to just be readiness in speech and in posture and then our hands are twiddling and our our our our seats are on our cushions. Praise God. I pray to God that I would have a readiness and a performance that are married together to hey, this is going to be profitable for the church. This is going to be profitable for your family. If you want to do something husband, man, then guess what? Be excited about it and then do it. Amen. Ladies, if you want to do something, don't just look in the mirror and say, "Oh, yeah. I can do that." Do it. Look to your neighbor and tell them, "Just do it." Come on. Somebody needs a Nike shirt on right now. Hallelujah. Somebody needs some Nike running shoes on their feet right now and say, "You know what? I'm not just going to talk the talk. I'm going to do it." Uh, I'm not just going to say, "I want to have good church. I'm going to show up and I'm going to have good church." Uh, I'm not just going to say I'm going to worship. I'm going to worship. I'm not just going to say I'm going to praise. I'm going to praise. Uh I'm not just going to say I'm going to win a soul. I'm going to win a soul. I'm not just going to talk the talk. I'm going to walk the rock. And I'm so zealous. I'm going to run the run, my friend. Uh why? Because I understand that there has to be a performance after the readiness. Hallelujah. It pushes me forward. And what did he say in verse 11? He said it this way. Now therefore perform the doing of it that as there was a readiness to will so there may be a performance also out of that which you have. And the ESV says this. So now finish doing it as well. Praise God. So that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it. You all hearing me tonight? I'm not trying to be John Maxwell and just self, you know, edificate. I'm not trying to just pump you up with some selftalk mumbo jumbo. I'm going to get to faith here in a little bit and we're going to start preaching revival. Amen. We're going to see something great happen. I believe if we would open up our hearts, God can speak to somebody's heart tonight. Amen. Hallelujah. We've got to match our readiness with our performance. Hallelujah. He said that you would that there would be a match that takes place. Amen. That you wouldn't only have a readiness to do it, but that their desire may be matched by your completion. Hey, I don't know about you, I want to I want to see revival. But not only do I want to see revival, I want to have revival. I just don't want to envision it. I want to experience it. Uh I don't want to just hope for it, but I pray someday I look up and I look around and say, "We're in the midst of revival, and I've seen what I've dreamed about come to pass. Uh the prophecies being fulfilled. The promises are coming to pass. Amen. Hallelujah. Who believe that God is a God of his word. Amen. Uh that means if he's promised it, it's going to come to pass. Uh his word will not return void. Hallelujah. Sometimes I've got to cast my bread upon the waters, but it's going to return to me. It may take a few days, but it's going to come back to me. Can I tell you the Lord? He knows what he's doing. Uh and I can't just say I believe it. I've got to believe it from the bottom of my heart and that's got to propel me forward to do the work of God. Amen. And so our willingness with our work, there's got to be a marriage between willingness and work, readiness, and then performance, desire, and doing. Praise God. We you following me? Praise God. And of course, we've got to get ourselves ready. We have to set our minds and our lives to it to live for God, to be used by God, to go out and be a part of revival or do whatever God is leading us and calling us to do. We've got to set our minds to it. We've got to get ourselves ready. But then there's that third piece that makes it all worth it. It doesn't matter if you got ready. It didn't matter if you got set. Unless you do, then it doesn't matter how ready you are. It doesn't matter how set up you are. We got to do something in Jesus' name. Uh, and sometimes just got to stop talking about it. Sometimes it's got to stop praying about it. Sometimes you got to stop meeting about it. You just got to get up and do it. Hallelujah. You got to get up and go to somebody and tell them, "Hey, I'm here for you. I want to pray with you. I want to give you a Bible study." Whatever it is. Amen. Sometimes we could psych oursel out. We could start thinking too much about things. Uh, can I tell you the devil doesn't want you to win a soul? The devil doesn't want you to run the aisles. Why do we contemplate running the aisles? Why do we contemplate shouting? Amen. I've been there as a as a young person. Amen. Feeling the presence of God or wanting to lead in worship and just contemplating with yourself, arguing with yourself, should I go run the aisles? Should I kick my shoes off and loosen up my tie and shout a little bit? Should I stand up and preach with a preacher? Should I go up and pray with that person? We psych ourselves out. Can I tell you, the devil don't want you to worship. The devil don't want you to pray with somebody. The devil don't want you to get a breakthrough. Stop psyching yourself out. You just got to get up and do it. Hallelujah. I've come to church. I I didn't come to church just to sit. I didn't come to church just to so I could be counted in attendance. No. If I come to church, I come to have church. Hallelujah. Come on. Hallelujah. If I come to church, I'm going to have church. If I'm going to be a part of worship, I'm going to worship. If praise is happening all around me, I'm going to be a contributor in praise. Hallelujah. If prayer is present, then I'm going to pray. Praise God. We've got to be able to actualize the ideal. We can't just idealize church all the time. Man, the way it's got to be. This is the way it should be. Well, if we know what it should be, then why isn't it that? Right? If we have an ideal, we should be able to actualize it. But what makes it so difficult? Because there's a gap between readiness and performance. It's easy to get ready. It's easy to get set. But when it's time to go, when it's time to do, sometimes there's doubt. Sometimes there's unbelief. Amen. Sometimes intimidation. Sometimes there's too much pressure. Sometimes there's too much pride. Sometimes there's too many distractions. Sometimes we're depending on the right atmosphere. We're depending on the right tone. We're depending on too many variables to get us out of our seat. Uh oh, come on, somebody. I want to run the race. Uh, no matter how loud that gunshot rings, uh, no matter how much of the crowd is observing, no matter what kind of pressures on me, when it's time to go, I pray I launch off that starting point and I run the race. Hallelujah. Why? Because I'm not just starting setting to start off to run the race. Uh, if I'm going to run, I'm going to run to finish. Hallelujah. Come on. Can I tell somebody, you came too far to turn back now. You're in the middle of doing it. When you started it, you wanted to live for God. When you started to live for God, it's because you wanted to live for God and you made a decision maybe a year ago, maybe two years, maybe 10 years ago, and maybe that desire is starting to Wayne and you're still trying to just do and just go through the motions and just try to fake yourself out to live in for God. No, friend. Uh you've got to go back to that place of zeal and say, "If I'm going to do the action, I need the passion to accompany it." Hallelujah. If I'm going to do a work for God, I need to be on fire for God. If I'm going to live for God, I might as well love living for God. Come on, somebody. I pray that there could be a revival in our soul tonight and restore the joy of our salvation. Praise God. But first, we've got to be willing. Hallelujah. We've got to be willing. We got to have a desire. Oh, hallelujah. Who here, Hallelujah, wants to live for God? Praise God. I want to live for God. I want to live for God. Amen. Some of us, you guys, we have tasted of the world. Amen. We've had opportunity to live in the world. Amen. And follow the ways of the world. Can I tell you, friend, some of you that's dipped into both into both bowls? Hallelujah. Haven't you tasted and seen that the Lord is good? And there is no other way of living than the way that is called truth. Amen. There is no other road, amen, for my life than the way that is called Christ Jesus. Uh, come on. There is no other mission. There is no other satisfaction. There's no other purpose in my life that is worth my devotion but Jesus. So, I want to live for God. First, we've got to be willing. And what we have or what we don't have may be an excuse to our readiness. That's what Paul is telling him. He's saying, "I'm recognizing that you think you don't have enough to give to God. You don't think that you will have what it takes to give to God. You think you're lacking some things." But I want to give you some encouragement. Amen. That the Lord the Lord is going to accept according to that a man hath and not according to that he hath not. Praise God. What does that mean? That means if God has called you, if God has chosen you, if God has pulled you into his kingdom, then what are we to do? We are to give him what we've got. We are to give him what's in our hand. And you know what he'll do? He'll increase it by his miraculous power and anointing. I have to recognize I have no miracle working power in me. I am nobody special. I am nobody great. I am nobody powerful. What I have to give to God is meager at best. Many times it's broken and it's flawed. I've got my foibless, brother Jacob. My foibless abound. Hallelujah. But you know what? I can give God I can give God what I have because he's not expecting me to give him what I don't have. And so I'm just going to give him what I got and trust him that his power is big enough to use it. And his anointing is great enough to use it. Amen. God will take and use what you have above that which you have not or what you don't give him. Let me give you some advice. This isn't from Paul. This is from pastor. Here's some advice. God will never use what you don't give him. He'll never use what you don't give him. Jesus, you don't give him your testimony, he won't use your testimony. Come on. You don't give him your hands, he won't use your hands. You won't give him your voice, he won't use your voice. You won't give him your body, he won't use your body. You won't give him your future, your finances, your relation, he won't use any of those things. But the moment you start giving your your things to him, your life to him, your stuff to him, can I tell you, he can sanctify it, he can anoint it, and he can use what you give him. Josh, I want you to think of this. When Joshua went over against Jericho, who were the Israelites at this point? The Israelites are a newly formed nation. They didn't really have an army. No, friend. If you do some historical study on ancient warfare, man, their weapons were brutal. They'd find roots that had grown around rocks and they'd pull those roots up and cut them up at the stem and use them as clubs. They'd have slingshots and man, they they'd be fighting with sticks. They'd be stabbing each other and cutting each other up with sticks. Like, I mean, it was it was gory and bloody. It was not a fun time. I want you to think about this. Joshua coming out from the wilderness going against Jericho, the most fortified city in the known world at that time. And this is the first one Joshua's called to take out. No swords, no shields, no trained army, and you're sending Joshua to go against Jericho. Okay, God, what do you want me to use? Your legs. I don't know what you got. We got some trumpets over here. The priest got some trumpets. You know, we whipped up real quick. We got our feet. Think about this. What do you got, Joshua? Well, we got our legs. We got our feet. We got We got our trumpets. We got our voice. What was that supposed to do against Jericho? Well, somebody might have thought it, but Joshua was able to lead them and say, "Hey, we're not fighting a war that makes any sense." And we have to realize that the warfare that we're engaged in, it's not going to make sense to our natural mind. But we can trust God that if he has called us to do it, he's going to bring us through it. I look around at the state of our world, the state of our city, the state of this neighborhood, and I shake my head. I look at the state of people that come into our church and leave our church, and I shake my head. I'm saying, "Lord, what is their hope? How can we change this city? How can we see revival? How can we make a difference? How can we make an impact? Just little old us. We've been at it for 32 years. How can we grow? How can we expand? How can we make a dent in the wickedness and the darkness of this city? Can I tell you? Uh Joshua could have had the same excuses. Uh but God wasn't asking him to give him what he didn't have. He said, "You ain't got swords, give me your feet. You ain't got shields, give me your voice. Uh if you ain't got anything, give me your trumpets. And if you just give me your obedience, come on, I'll do the rest. Uh, and so they went over against Jericho. They marched around the walls. That talks that sounds like a pretty that sounds like a pretty silly war strategy to me. Walk around the walls. Don't say anything. On the seventh day, walk around the walls seven times. On the seventh time around, shout unto the Lord with the voice of tri. And the priest can blow up the prophets of Zion and the walls will That doesn't sound like any war strategy I would recommend. And uh but Lord, at your will, at your voice, I'm just going to do what you're calling me to do. I'll give you what I got. I'll trust you with the rest. And the Lord fought their battles. I want to let you know Joshua fought the battle of Jericho. Yes, he did. But Joshua wasn't the one that won the battle of Jericho. God won, but Joshua had to fight. Oh, come on, somebody. I'm trying to get down into our spirit and let you know, yes, you're guaranteed a victory, but you've got to fight. Uh you've got to obey. You've got to march. You've got to stand and say, "I'm not just ready. I'm not just set, but I'm willing to do something for God." Think about Gideon's 300 against the Midianite army. What's 300 supposed to do against an army so large, innumerable? I'm in this. How in the world? They were under they were under oppression by the Midianites. They they they they weren't allowed to have weapons. They couldn't they they didn't have a forge. They didn't have a weaponry. They didn't have an armory. They didn't have access to all of that. What did they have, Brother Austin? They just had lanterns and trumpets and and their legs and their voice. What in the world are they supposed to do? 300 against an innumerable army with lanterns and trumpets and voices and legs. It doesn't make sense. But at thy word, Lord, I've got what I've got and I'll put it to use in your kingdom. And if you tell me to break a lantern and blow a trumpet, I'm going to do it. And you're going to have to fight for us and give us the victory. Come on, church. I want to have good church. Uh, I want to have great music. I want to have good altar calls. I want to see the power of God fall in our church. But I know sometimes I fall short. Sometimes I don't invite the musicians to come. Sometimes we are off key and sometimes we're clapping offbeat and sometimes it's a struggle and it's a fight. But I want to let you know God can use it if you just give it to him and the best you got. It's the best you got. It may not be the best, but it's the best you got. And if you're willing to give it to him, we can have revival. He can make up the difference. Church, I'm trying to encourage somebody. I'm not trying to tell you to be complacent and stay where you're at and not grow and not invest in yourself and not be better and not try to have better church and have better programs and better music, better this, better that. I'm all for it. But I'm not going to sit still until that day comes. I'm going to give God what I got in my hand. Uh, and I'm going to trust him that he'll anoint it, that he'll prosper it, and that he'll use it for his glory. Moses goes against Pharaoh. He goes against the magicians of Egypt. He has the responsibility to deliver God's people from bondage. What did he have? He had an obedient spirit. And the Lord asked him, "What is in your hand, Moses? I got a rod." Whoopdedoo. You going to go beat Pharaoh over the head or what? How you going to deliver God's people with a rod? Oh, Moses ain't going to deliver God's people with a rod. He's just going to give his rod to God, and God will deliver his people. Come on. We got to realize it's not by our might. It's not by our power, but it's by his spirit. We need the anointing of the Holy Ghost in everything that we do. If I touch a piano, God, I want to give it my very best, but God, I need your anointing to be in my fingers. Uh, come on. If you pick up some drumsticks, God, I'm going to give you my very best. I want our drummers to grow. I want them to play skillfully. But God, more so than anything, I need your anointing to flow through their hands and through their feet. If you're holding a microphone, if you're sitting in a pew, if you're going at a restaurant with a church card in your pocket, God, let us be the church that's willing to give you what we got. Uh, let us see it grow. Let us see the church grow. Let us see revival and do what you're calling us to do. Think of this. Matthew chapter 14 and verse number 15. Matthew 14:15. And when it was evening, praise God. Hallelujah. And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, "This is a desert place, and the time is now passed. Send the multitude away that they may go into the villages and buy themselves vituals." Man, if you look at that in the context of the church today, we could come to the Lord and be like, "God, this is a desert place. The time's passed. The time's over. Party's Party's over. Time for everybody to go home. They got to they got to go somewhere else to get what they need. Oh Jesus. We did our best, but it just ain't working out. Man, that is such a despondent woe is me attitude for a church to maintain. I thank God that we ain't that kind of church to give up to put our tail behind between our legs and to soak off into the moonlight and say, "Well, I guess I guess we're just not going to have revival. Well, I guess we're just not going to see a miracle." No, no, no, friend. I could recognize that I'm in a desert place. I could recognize we've been waiting a long while. I could recognize that we're hungry and we're expecting and there is a brokenness in our world. Hallelujah. But you know what I've also come to realize? I've realized that hey, it ain't over because Jesus is still there. And Jesus doesn't tell them to go into the villages. Jesus doesn't say, "Everyone go home. Figure out what you're going to do to meet your need." No. What has he said? He says they need not depart. You give them something to eat. Now hold up, Jesus. We ain't got enough. Oh Jesus. What we have is not going to sustain the need that is before us. What we have is not going to meet the cry of this multitude. But Jesus looked into his disciples and he recognized, hey, you can have something that Amen. They they they they realized in verse number 17, they said unto him, "We are we have here but five loaves and two fishes." He said, "Bring them hither to me." What were they to do with the five loaves and the two fishes? They weren't to disperse that to the multitude because if they were to give it to the multitude, they would have run out at three people. But the moment they brought their lack, the moment they brought their insufficiency, the moment they brought their little and put it in the hands of the master, they put it in the perfect place for a miracle and for multiplication and for Oh, come on, somebody. Hallelujah. And when Jesus received the five loaves and the two fishes, he gave them a commandment. The commandment was for the multitude to sit down on the grass. Everybody get ready to have a picnic. He took the five loaves and the two fishes and looking up to heaven, he blessed, he break, and he gave the loaves to whom? To his disciples. And they and they uh the disciples gave it to the multitude. And they did all eat and were filled. And they took up the fragments that remained 12 baskets full. And they that had eaten were about 5,000 men beside women and children. Amen. I don't know if the five loaves and the the two fishes was leftovers. But by the time Jesus was done, he fed 5,000 plus people and had more leftovers than they started with. I want to let you know, you could give God anything you've got and he'll take it and he can multiply it for his glory. Hallelujah. Oh, come on, somebody. God wants to use what this church has. God wants to use what you've got. God wants to use what's in your hand. God wants to use what's in this church's hand. Uh, but we've got to make the investment. He'll give us the victory, but we've got to fight. Oh, come on, somebody. Jesus. Jesus. H how? H help us Jesus. Help us, Lord. He doesn't expect to use what we ain't got, but he can't use what we don't give him. And yes, I realize that was terrible grammar. Praise God. Praise God. He doesn't expect to use what we don't have, but he cannot use what we don't give him. I've got to realize that the effort I give him isn't exactly what I'm going to pull out. I've heard it said many times, and I've said it before, though, you're going to get as much out of a service as you put into a service. And I agree with the principle of that statement, but I disagree with the uh uh the payback. You know why? Because my Bible tells me that if I'm going to invest into the kingdom of God, it's called an investment for a reason. What do we expect with our investments? Not to get a 0% return, but if I'm going to invest something, I'm going to get back what I put in plus interest, baby. Come on. When I'm invested in the kingdom of God, I don't get what's coming to me. I get the grace of God multiplied and over interest. Come on, somebody. Luke 6 and:e 38, Jesus said, "Give, and it shall be given unto you. Good measure pressed down and shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you meet with all it shall be measured to you again." That's where we get you'll get what you put put into it. You'll get out what you put in. But my Bible tells me that whatever I give, the Lord is going to press it down and he's going to shake it together and it's going to be running over. Come on. You might give him five loaves, but he's going to give you 12 baskets left over. Come on. You Oh, Jesus, help us. I want to help somebody that's been giving sacrificially the past couple of months. Uh I want to pray God, I pray that blessing would come on you because you gave and you gave from a generous heart. Uh and I pray that as you invested into the kingdom of God and into the man of God in your life, I pray God would multiply it for your for your family and for the glory of God. I pray I hear testimonies saying, "I gave a hundred bucks and I didn't have a hundred bucks to give, but God gave me back uh more than what I could ever imagine." Come on, somebody. He'll always outgive you. You can't outgive God. Come on, Jesus. Help us tonight to get this. Hallelujah. Church might think, "Come on, pastor. We ain't got a whole lot of visitors here tonight. It's not a full house getting all riled up for. It's just us." I know. I know it's just us. Uh, come on. Oh, God. And it might be few and it might be meager. Come on. We might be meager, but we're not measly. Come on. I'm the head. I'm not the tail. I You just Give me five other five others that'll get on board. Give me two others. All I need is two or three that have gathered in his name and he's in the midst of them. Come on. I serve the God of the underdog. Come on. I serve the God of the underdog. I don't need to be a giant. I just need to be a Goliath, a David. Amen. I need to be a David that says I'm not going to be afraid of what I don't have. I'm going to realize I'm attached to something bigger than I. Come on. I'm holding on to the right hand of my God. He's going to uphold me. He's going to empower me and push me forward. I tell you that God's resources are not confined to this building. God's resources are not confined to our checking account. God's resources are not confined to this people. Hallelujah. But you know what I could say? Hallelujah. If I'm just a branch, I want you to think about a big corporation. You got branches all over the place. All over the place. Even in China. Praise God. You got branches all over the place. If I'm just a branch, that means I have access. Come on, somebody. Brother Chris, you're feeling me? Praise God. I've got access to resources that I don't see in my local church. Come on. Can I tell you there's warehouses in heaven that are filled with the blessings that we need in this church and what you need in your family. And all it takes is somebody to realize I just got to give him what I got. And I trust him that he'll multiply it. He'll help me. He'll give me the
strength to get through it. He said if you ask for wisdom, the God, he'll give it to you liberally. He's not a stingy God. He's not a silomindeted God. He's got plenty. He ain't worried about running out anytime soon. He's the source of it all. God, help us to believe. Help us to believe. Praise God.
God, use this building. God, use every dollar in our investment accounts. Use every dollar in our checking account. God, I pray that you would use every person on this on these pews. I pray you would use every square foot in this building, every square inch on this property. Lord Jesus, I pray that you would use every cell phone in this room. I pray that you would use every vehicle on this parking lot. Come on. I pray that you would use every classroom on this property. I pray, God, you would use every burner and every sink in that kitchen. Uh God, I pray that you would use every shelf and every cabinet in the storage areas of this. I pray you use this baptistry. I pray you use this altar. I pray you use this pull pit and these microphones. I pray you use that booth and the drum booth and the piano. Come on, God. I pray that you use this church. Uh and I know it may not seem like much, uh but God, when your anointing hits us, uh we can change the world. We can turn this city upside down. God, I'm not going to be afraid. I'm going to be full of faith. You can do it, Jesus. Praise God.
Mark chapter 9 spoke of a man's son who had a dumb spirit. I hate dumb spirits. Dumb spirits are so dumb. This man had a son who had a dumb spirit. This dumb spirit tore him up. It caused him to foam at the mouth, nash his teeth. query from Jesus told him that tells us that he was possessed with the spirit as a child and that it would often times throw him into the fire and into the water for the sake of destroying him. And the father brought his son to his disciples and they could not cast him out. And when the disciples brought him to Jesus, Jesus confronts the father in Mark 9:es 23-2. Jesus said unto him, "If thou canst believe, not cannot believe, but can believe, all things are possible to him that believes." Oh God. Oh Jesus, help us, God.
And straightway we see the conflict in the man's heart. The father of the child cried out and said with tears, "Lord, I believe, "Help thou mine unbelief." Jesus, when Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, "Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee. Come out of him, and enter no more into him." Notice that Jesus did not dial into the fact that this man had unbelief. He didn't. The emphasis from Jesus was not on his unbelief. Jesus help us. This man was honest with his unbelief. And Jesus did not emphasize his unbelief. He took rather that little bit of faith that the father did have. Oh God, help us tonight and he was able to do something with his issue in spite of the unbelief. He took that little bit of faith. Oh God, he took that little bit of faith and he was able in his compassion and in his power to push aside the unbelief, to push aside the cynicism, to push aside the anger and the sorrow and use the faith that he had. Can I tell you that the Lord understands how frail we are? He understands our humanity. He gets us. He sees us. He knows our difficulties. He knows. He understands how frail we are. And he's not asking us to fake it until we make it. But if we could reach down to some hopefilled lit corner of our spirit and pull out some faith, though it just be a little bit, and give it to him, we could say, "God, I'm hurting." We could say, "Lord, I'm confused." We could say, "Jesus, I'm broken." We could recognize, "I don't feel like it." We could be honest and say, "I'm I'm angry and I'm battling with unbelief, but I'm going to give you this little bit of faith that I do have, and I'm going to believe that you could do something with my situation." Come on. And Jesus didn't highlight their his unbelief, but he was able to take that little bit of faith that he did have, and he worked it out for him and he pushed him through that situation. Hallelujah. Oh, come on. I'm thankful that the Lord is compassionate and graceful to me. I'm so glad that he doesn't require me to be at 100% for him to to to to to answer my prayers and to help me. Yes, I want to be a righteous man. Yes, I want my prayers to be effectual and fervent. Amen. But oh, I'm not at 100% 100% of the time. I'm so thankful that he's compassionate and long-suffering and merciful with me. I'm so thankful that he sees my honesty with him sometimes and say, "God, I'm frustrated. God, I don't know how you're going to get us through. God, I'm losing sight of a vision for the future, but I've got a little bit of faith that I'm just going to give to you and tell you I trust you and I need your help. Help me with this unbelief. Come on. Jesus was able to answer both prayers at the same time. He took that faith and healed his son and he helped his father with his unbelief. Hallelujah. God, help us to be honest with you. We're broken sometimes. Sometimes we lack the faith and there's more doubt than there is faith. But God, help us to realize what you could do with just a little bit of faith. Uh, oh, help us to realize what you can do with just a little bit of effort. God, help us, Jesus.
Of course, that was for the father's case. So, why didn't the law of a little bit of faith work with the disciples? The Bible said they could not cast that spirit out. And of course, they would ask Jesus that question. We could read Matthew's account in Matthew chapter 17 and verse number 19. Praise God. If you would just bear with me just for a few more short moments. We're coming quickly to a close. Hallelujah. I'm feeling it tonight. God, it's just a little bit, Lord. I know it's not a earthshattering message, but God, if if it could get into somebody's heart and give them some faith, Lord God, to realize what you could do. Amen. With just a little bit of faith. Come on. Faith. Faith. Faith. Just a little bit of faith. It don't take a whole lot. Just use what you got. God, I could be broken in my prayer. I could be doubting sometimes. I Yes, I can be doubting and I could pray and ask God to help me with my unbelief and help me with my struggle and help me with my frustration and help me with my humanity. Oh, but if I give him that little bit of faith, uh, I believe he can multiply it and do something.
Why didn't God why didn't God give the disciples a little bit of grace in Matthewap 17:1 19 after Jesus cast the devil out of the boy? The disciples came to Jesus apart and said, "Why couldn't we cast him out?" Jesus already knew why they couldn't cast him out. Because prior when he found out that they couldn't, he said, "Oh, faithless and perverse generation." You look up the Greek, that word faithless literally means unbelieving. And so they asked him, "Wh couldn't we cast him out?" And look what Jesus answered him in verse 20. "Because of your unbelief." So he didn't emphasize the father's unbelief, but he did emphasize the disciples unbelief. Following me? Okay. For verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place, and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Now, we're going to circle back around and say in verse number 21, how be it this kind, somebody say this kind, this kind goeth not out, but by prayer and fasting. Okay. Two things. The Lord did not emphasize the father's unbelief because the father emphasized his unbelief already. He was honest with his unbelief. He said, "I believe, but help me." He asked him for help with his doubt, with his unbelief. And because he was open to God and emphasized his unbelief and didn't try to scoot it under a rug and just keep doing what he thought he was supposed to be doing and saying, God was able to look past the unbelief and help him with both situations. Use the faith to heal his son and help him with his unbelief. But the disciples, Jesus emphasized their unbelief because they were not honest about their unbelief. They thought they could cast the devil out with unbelief. They thought they could just go through the motions. They thought they could just do the thing. They thought they could just do the action without the passion. Jesus. They thought they could They thought that they could do Oh, God help us. They thought they could perform without the readiness. You see where I'm going? And they could not. And so because they were dishonest about their spiritual position, Jesus did not give them any grace concerning their unbelief. He said, "You couldn't do it because you are unbelieving and you thought you could put a mask over your spirit. And because you're my disciples and hang out with me all the time, you got to pass. Come on. I don't care who who you are. I don't care what your last name is. I don't care how pretty you are. I don't care what kind of pedigree you have or what kind of degree hangs on your closet on your on your wall in your office. I don't care how talented you are and how good you look. Come on. Unless we're actually connected to the master with faith and with obedience and we have a passion and a readiness. God, I can't do anything without you. Come on. I'm not talent and anointing are two different things. and I could give him my talent and he can anoint it and then I could give him my best effort and he could still anoint it. But I want to let you know I need his anointing either way. Uh I need his spirit either way. I can't just speak it and receive it. That's not the way this works, friend. That's not the way this works. Jesus highlights his disciples unbelief and not their faith. Why? Because he was able to see into their hearts and know that their lack of performance was based on a lack of readiness. Oo Jesus help us. And while the father was ready for his miracle, in spite of his unbelief, Jesus was able to perform the miracle with that little bit of faith the father had. The man needed a miracle. And he had to get it from the source of all miracles, Jesus. But if God was to use the disciples as a vessel to perform a mountain movie miracle, it was to take the faith as a vet a grain of mustard seed. Listen to this. Faith as a grain of mustard seed hurls mountain size problems. Not faith as of a mountain overcomes mustard seed grain problems. It don't take a whole lot. Just use what you got. So, what's the big deal? Did they have complete unbelief and not even a little bit of faith to work the miracle? Did they not even have a little bit working in them? Jesus knew that you can't just positive think and then there it is. It's not the way this works, friend. Positive thinking does not yield miracles. Jesus, help us. Jesus knew that you can't just blab it and grab it. Jesus knew that you can't just speak it and receive it. That's the kind of language you hear in a lot of songs today. And the charismatic movement would tell you that you just speak things into existence. Can I tell you that will that will wear on your faith hard because you're going to practice that and see that it don't work that way. I'm not saying to be a negative Nelly and a wet blanket on everything because there is power of life and death in the tongue, but we think it's as easy as just talking positively and all of a sudden we have authority over everything. That's not how it works. That's not how it works. We don't have power and authority over those mountains because of who we are or where we've been. It comes from a life that's been ready, that's been made ready. And how did he say? He said, "This time goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. They tried to do without the ready set. They weren't praying. They weren't fasting." I would I would challenge them to say this that they probably didn't even think they needed to. You know why? They were with Jesus. They couldn't do it. They just bring it to Jesus. Oh, God help us. After all, the bridegroom was with them. They don't got to fast. Jesus said they didn't even have to fast. Even Jesus didn't even have to say that. Said that they didn't have to fast at that time. Can I tell you that sometimes I think our problem is that sometimes we get too comfortable and think that the Holy Ghost is going to do all the work for us. Help us, Jesus. Help us tonight right now. You know what? I just feel I feel a drifting in the atmosphere. Can we just stand to our feet tonight? God, I pray God that we would be able to be captivated by your presence, Jesus. God, help us to have a readiness, a readiness to work, not a readiness to will, but a readiness to work. Lord, a place where readiness and performance meet, where willingness and work meet, where desire and doing meet, where passion and action meet. Oh God. And it's not just going to be by going up to some demonp possessed kid and say, "In the name of Jesus, be thou removed." No. I've got to make ready myself. I've got to pray. Can I be honest with you? There's been times even what since I've been pastoring this church, there's been times where I've had demonic encounters. And the moment it came up, I had this little flash in my head. Oo, I should have been praying more this week. Brother Andreas was here. I guarantee he'd be backing me up right there. Have you ever felt that way, brother Pal? Man, man, I should have fasted this week. That little bit of unbelief comes in. It's like, oo, I know that it don't have any power over me, but I don't know if I could get this one. I've had those thoughts. Can I just be vulnerable? Can I be honest? But you know what I had to do in those moments? Jesus, I believe you have power over this. Help me with my unbelief. God, answer both prayers at the same time. Lord, I want to be ready, but if I just got a little bit of faith, I'm still going to give it to you, and I'm going to believe that you're going to work it out for me. And then I'm going to find a place of prayer. I'm going to find a place of consecration. I'm going to push the plate away sometime. I'm going to I'm going to start to get ready, and I'm going to start to get set. And then I'm going to do what you're calling me to do. I'm not going to put all the work off on the Holy Ghost. I'm not going to put off the all the work on God. No, no, no, friend. He's chosen me to be his hands. He's chosen me to be his voice. He's chosen me to be his messenger. He's chosen me to be a witness. Come on. I want God to do a work, but he's called me and you to work through us as his body in the earth today. Lord, yes, I want you to do a work, but I realize I've got to go to work. Oh, God, put a desire in us and then let us do what we desire. Come on. Oh God, does anybody want revival? Hallelujah. I want you to think about it hard before you answer. Does anybody desire revival? Come on. If you desire revival, then we've got to do what it takes to have revival. And we've got to realize I can't strategize my way around it. Uh I can't beat the drums hard enough. I can't preach an eloquent enough message. If it's going to happen, it's going to be because this church locked in in prayer. It's going to be because this church locked in in fasting. It's going to be because this church did the things uh that would build the faith enough to cast out unbelief to cast out spiritual darkness uh to get the victory in this city. Come on. I can't fake it till I make it. I can't pull my influence from secular Christianity and business leadership. No, I got to go back to the word of God and say, "I've got to be a church that Christ built. I got to be standing on the rock of ages. And if I'm going to win, it's going to be because he's empowered us. Amen. I've got to have a readiness, a willingness, a passion. But then I need a work and a performance and an action.
Lastly, in 2 Corinthians 10:3, for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. But I'll tell you what they are. They're mighty through God. Oh, they're mighty through who, brother Jacob? They're mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exaltth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ, and having in all a readiness to revenge. All what? Disobedience. I've got a readiness to revenge disobedience. What does that mean? That means I'm taking it back. Everything that the devil stole from me. A readiness to revenge. I said, "Devil, I live for you. for 15 years. The next 15, 30 years, I'm going to take revenge on the disobedience that I had in my past. And you know what? How I'm going to do it? I'm going to have my revenge. Jesus. Not going around giving the devil a black eye physically. Say, going to give the devil a bad night. Give him black eye. Blah blah blah. Man, I'd like to show you. I'd like I'd like to see you do that. You know how to do it. You know how to give a devil a black eye. Hallelujah. When your obedience is fulfilled, we have to have readiness to revenge disobedience. And you know how you revenge disobedience? Your obedience is fulfilled. All right. So, who's ready to tear the devil's kingdom down? Oh, Jesus. It is. I don't know if it's just me. Maybe I'm just tired, but it is tight up in here. I want a readiness in my spirit that says, "God, I desire revival. I desire my grandpa Dennis to be saved. I desire my nana Debbie to be saved. God, I desire my neighbors Karen and Mike and Julio and Olivia and their three boys and Angel and his wife and their children. God, I desire for Rey. I desire for Sil Sheila. I desire for my neighbors to be saved. Uh God, I desire Oh, God. I'm I'm my company and a couple of our young ladies, they clean a Baptist church here in town on the other side of B of of BC. I have a client. It's a Baptist church. They have a daycare. Sister Laya, Sister Rachel's, my employees. They go clean that building three times a week. Amen. And they were highlighted in the church in the 60th church anniversary. They highlighted my company and my two employees in their church anniversary because of the good work that they're doing. Sister Jerry helped me get on board. Sister Marcos, Sister Marco, Sister Esther, Mr. Brother Marcos, they help too. Our church's fingerprints are all over that property. And you know what I do? I pray for Parkside Church. I pray for Aaron. I pray for that daycare director. I pray that every time that we go in there, I pray that there's a Holy Ghost anointing that follows into this. Oh God, I pray, God, I want to see revival, but I pray it's more than just a desire. I pray that there's some doing that comes alongside it. Come on. Hallelujah. I don't want to just be a big talker. I want to be a runner of the race. Come on, somebody. Uh I don't want to just box the air as if I'm fighting nobody. I want to fight the good fight. Come on. I want to land some punches. Uh, I re I have a readiness to revenge disobedience. You know how I'm going to do it? I'm going to obey the call. I'm going to be a better husband. I'm going to be a better man. I'm going to be a better Christian. I'm going to be a better son. I'm going to be a better father. All for the glory of God. And it may not be much. I'm nobody special. Oh, but God, if I just give it to you, I know you could use them easily. I know you could use them eager. I know you could use the unbroken, the brokenness, and the shame. Lord, I know you could use it and you can multiply it. Come on, let's lift our hands right now to heaven. Jesus, help us to have a readiness and then help us to perform. Lord Jesus, let us have an earnest desire. Oh God, but then I pray God that we would put forth the effort, God. Oh God, let us be willing, but let us also work. Come on, somebody. Hey, I'm praying right now as these altars are open, if somebody's feeling a tug from the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. You may not feel like you have much to give, but you just give what you got. Uh, come on. Little is much when God is in it. Come on. I'm not laboring for wealth or fame, uh, but there's a crown in glory with my name on it, and I'm going to fight until I win. I'm going to finish the work. I didn't just set out to to to stop halfway. I didn't finish out to stop halfway. Come on, church. Uh, we've been pastoring this church for 10 years. I ain't stopping now. We're going to keep going until we see great revival. We're going to keep going until we see Jesus come. Come on, somebody. Come on. You come too far to stop now. Come on. Remember when you had a desire and that desire prompted you to do something? Come on. Find a revival of desire.
