Oh dear! I'm yawning... I'm tired, I'm exhausted, I'm worn out, I'm out of it. Out of it, those are the letters O and O. It means out of service. It means I can't do anything anymore. I'm dead. I can't take it anymore. All of that expresses the idea that we are very tired. And you see there, I dozed off, which means I fell asleep. But to doze off is really the idea of falling asleep like that for a few minutes because you are really tired. So, some people take a nap, but when you doze off, you haven't really decided to fall asleep. It happened like that. And you see, at the moment, it often happens to me to doze off after work because, again, you see, it was going a little better lately, I was sleeping better, and now again, I'm sleeping badly. I wake up very early in the morning, I don't have too much trouble falling asleep, but it's upon waking that, well, in fact, I realize it's 5 AM, 5:30 AM, if I'm lucky, 6 AM. So you see, it's too early, you know. So afterwards I'm... I'm worn out, so I dozed off, and then now I think it's time to get my act together.

So, to get your act together, that's an expression to say to get active, to be a bit more present, ... dynamic because I don't want to fall asleep for good. It will really disrupt my night, you see. So, what do you do when you, when you are very tired like that and you don't want to fall asleep? Do you have any tips? Well, I think I'm going to go out, I'm going to get up, and then I'm going to go for a little walk, you see? I'm going to get some fresh air, it will do me good. Wait for the bag... I have my bag. I took my glasses, I'm putting on my shoes. So, I thought it might be a good idea to comment on what I'm doing for this walk because I'm going nowhere, I don't have a particular destination. I'm just going to walk around the neighborhood. Oh, damn! Oh, I forgot to turn off the light. So here, people leave the light on in their homes almost all day. You see? I don't like that. Wait, I'm tying my sandals. I don't like leaving the light on when I'm not there. You see, it's pointless. So, I was telling you that I'm going to comment on everything I'm doing. So now, I'm going to lock up. That's done. And then I'm going to go down the stairs because, you see, the elevator, some days it... it gets on my nerves. It gets on my nerves, that means it annoys me. It's colloquial language. It feels like a laboratory with this blue light. It's strange. And you see, it's not blue actually. It's the phone that does that. Well, so I'm almost at the bottom, you'll see, I'll arrive directly on the street because when you take the stairs here, well, in fact, you arrive directly on the street. It's like an emergency exit. There you go. So, I live on the 7th floor, you know. So, there are seven floors, but there, I'm arriving. So, you see, it's a door that you push. You can't get in from the outside without the pass. So, I'm going to push, you see? You see, I'm going to push this, I push and I go out. So, you see, when you open the door, the luminosity is completely different. It's not the same light. I'm a bit out of it, though. That means my mind isn't very clear. I'm going to go this way. Wait, I'm going to go this way because there's always an unbearable noise here. It will be a bit nicer for you to listen. So you see, I'm out of it, I'm disoriented because, in fact, I woke up not long ago and my thoughts aren't very clear yet. So, we're going through the back of my building. Do you see my building? It's there. There it is. Look, I'll show you my building. So, I don't live on this side at all, you know. I live in this building, but my apartment faces the other way. There you go. So, a little walk in the neighborhood. What's interesting here? Not much. You see behind me here, there's a supermarket. It's a convenience store that's open 24/7. A convenience store. A convenience store is a small local supermarket where you can find all the essential items. There you go. So, am I going to this supermarket? Not really. I only go there when I need something urgently. Uh, well, urgently, you shouldn't exaggerate, you know, but if I'm out of milk, well, I'll buy milk. So, well, these local markets, these small convenience stores, they are expensive. Yes, they are open all night, all day. So what do they do? They pass on... To pass on, that means, you see... to apply prices. They pass on the costs to the prices. There you go, in fact, we pay more to have access to these products at any time of the day. There you go. So, you probably hear the siren. Toronto is a city where there are sirens all day, all the time. To the right, to the left, it's a big city, you know. There you go. So here, you know, it's mainly a neighborhood for restaurants, bars, and then you have lots of residences, you have lots of condos. There's the fire station, you see, right next to my place. So, I also hear a lot of fire trucks. There you go. Well, the sun is already very, very low, so there's no more sun in the sky, and it's still less hot, but it's still heavy. Heavy is when the heat is a bit oppressive. So it's still heavy here at this time. And then, well, you see, there's quite a bit of noise, activity. It's the city center, you know. So, does it help me wake up? Well, it helps my ears wake up, that's for sure. And then, there you go, I'll just do a lap around the block and then I'll go back because I'm going to get ready to have dinner, you see. That will do me good too. So, what do we have around here? Restaurants, as I was telling you. So, look, I'll show you over there. You see, there are lots of restaurants. It's quite nice. It's quite nice, I find, as a neighborhood. And it's very close to my place. You see, in Canada, everything is always open in the evening, on the weekend. So, there you go, that's the advantage. You can't have everything. You can't have a quiet city and a hyper dynamic city at the same time. It's not possible. So, there you go, I've gotten a bit used to all of that. You see there, I'm going to turn right already to go back home. And you see, when I think about it, it's already mid-August, so I'm enjoying it a bit, you see, these evening walks like this. I try to do one every day to enjoy the good weather anyway because yes, it's hot, but I know very well that it won't last much longer. It's not over, of course, but in October, it will be completely different, you know. Generally, we have a nice September, so that's already pretty good. And then we'll be back to low temperatures and cold. Cold, obviously. Well, you see, it was a very short walk, you know, because I'm almost there. Do you think I'm going to go back up to my place by the stairs? I think that would be a good idea to wake me up even more because the elevator, well, it's true that it's the easy way out. So I'm going to take the stairs. It's hot, you know... It's hot. I feel the heat. Heavy heat. But there's a little breeze. A breeze is a very light wind. So, it's not a cool wind at all, but it's still pretty good. There you go. So, I'm arriving in front of the door, you see, I'm going to use my pass again and then I'm going to climb the seven floors. So, I find that seven floors isn't an insurmountable thing, you know. It's not a superhuman effort. It's a bit tiring, it's a bit exhausting, and it's especially not very interesting. It's a fire escape stairwell. There you go. So you see, I'm already on the 4th floor. It's okay, I only have three more floors and then I'm there. So, I'll have to sit on the sofa to catch my breath. But I think I'm well awake this time. There you go, one last floor. Oh, it's a bit of exercise too. It's not much, but there you go, 7th. Oof! I open the door, I go in, and here we are. There you go, I've arrived. See you later.
