These 15 secrets help me grow my LinkedIn impressions by 709%. And they can help you grow your audience and even boost your bank account, too.
So, let's dive straight in because this first step will triple your LinkedIn traffic using a brand new LinkedIn feature. And this will work no matter how small your following or audiences right now. Why? Well, the LinkedIn algorithm is unique in that it prioritizes sending your content to people who already follow you instead of sending it viral across the platform like Instagram and Tik Tok. They even said it in one of their press releases. And now, thanks to this recently released feature, when you comment on somebody else's post, you will see how many times you appear in the feed. This is unique to LinkedIn. And for me, my comments are getting way more views than my impressions. And you will see the same, too.
So, simply find three or four influencers who already have a big following of your ideal clients. Start commenting on their posts. Treat their comments exactly like you would a post, and monitor which influencers produce the most views. And you can cut down the time on this by using this app that you see on screen that will serve up the right people to comment on, like a server in a restaurant presenting food in a nice restaurant. More on this later, but for now, to find them, start by typing a keyword related to your clients into the LinkedIn search bar and then select posts and look for people with a headline of your ideal clients. Click on them and start commenting.
And you're now going to get a flood of people requesting to connect. But you can grow your network even more still by sending connect messages to new people using this next hack. But don't make the mistake of spending hours crafting that beautifully well done connect message because over 8 years, thousands of profiles, thousands of messages, it doesn't make any difference. Most people will even either accept anyway or never accept. So instead, put all your time, focus, and energy, which is exceptionally valuable into the people that already accepted. So what I do every single day is I go to my network, then I scroll down. I look at a combination of the profile image with the headline. I do a gut feel check to whether they're my potential clients or good strategic partnerships, and simply click connect. Done in 5 minutes.
Now you will have all these new contacts. This next hack will make sure people are glued to your content and profile like kids with the latest iPad game. And all of the top LinkedIn creators are doing exactly what I'm about to show you. We've seen over 20,000 posts and the best performing posts always have a short first line of seven to eight words. But not only that, they're asking a question. Why? Because asking a question without giving the answer creates that irresistible tension. It's like that mystery box or gift sitting in front of you. You and the viewer simply can't help but sticking around to find out what's inside. And if you want to double the effectiveness of this, also add a number into it and make it very specific. Specificity is way more believable like the post on screen.
And then for this next one, make sure you do something that all the best websites do when they want to keep their readers on the site. They make their content easy to skim by using lots of white space and they write it the same way people would speak rather than they write. Which means all the normal rules of grammar out the window for now. And sometimes if you're doing this for the first time, the copy may feel disjointed, unnatural, or like chat GPT just vomited out. And there are two ways to get past this. You can either write it and then read it back to yourself. And whenever it feels unnatural or there's a natural pause, hit enter. Or you can begin speaking into your phone and then edit the output once it's described rather than painfully writing from the ground up. And to do this, I love to use an app called Loom, but there's loads of them. We'll be sharing them all later.
But for now, this next one will guarantee that you always have loads of people commenting, liking, and engaging on your post, and you never look like that empty restaurant with the server stood on their own next to that one that's full up with a line snaking around the block. So, do this. Make sure you finish every post, not just with a question, but a question specifically related to the content of the post. This sends a signal to the LinkedIn algorithm that your post is interested and pushes it even further when people reply. But don't stop there. You can also add the same question in the comments and you'll have double the probability of people replying. And you can see in the images here of people doing this really well. And you'll be surprised how many people quickly reply.
And just a little tip here, if you want to give advice and coach people, which is the best way to win clients, never say you should, you have to, or you must. It's very direct. And never directly contradict the poster. It's much better to say something like in this structure on screen, really great advice. I love the bit about highlight something they said. I also love to. And then add your sprinkling of genius and your coaching. It lands a lot better. Everybody wins and you're bringing people up instead of pushing them down.
And this next one will build you a community of followers who love you like sports fans who follow their team around the world. And not many people know about it because every time you do it, LinkedIn sends a notification to your entire network. This means everybody sees it and you get a load of eyeballs on you and your content. So, make sure that you do a LinkedIn live at least once a week. I got over 15 hours of watch time on this even though there was hardly anybody there. And that's enough time to watch Lord of the Rings like six times. It's a fantastic strategy for people watching more reach growth and authentic realtime connection. And don't worry if you don't know what to say. Simply go to YouTube, type in the topic that you want to do a live about, and then look at the best performing titles, and then take that title across to LinkedIn whilst adjusting it to your niche.
And here's a hack to make sure that you don't show up and there's nobody there because it will double your reach without doing any extra work because the best time to post or go live on LinkedIn is about 8 to 8:30 in the morning in the time zone of your ideal clients. But here's the thing, loads of people also come online in the evening. So you can ride that second wave by posting the same content again. Couple of clicks, double the reach. And if you want to go super ninja on this and you've already got a load of video content or you want to record without the pressure of being live, you can take your existing videos and restream them to LinkedIn as if you were live. And this will help with the hack before because you can take your time to plan. And you can download all the links to the apps below, by the way, if you want to grab them.
Now, for this next one, you probably want to know how to make some money. Right? Because when it comes to contacting and converting with all these new followers and eyeballs and connections you've just generated, the fastest way to do this is to start conversations in direct messages, but in a very specific way that's neither sleazy, salesy, and it doesn't even feel like you're selling. So to do this once they're connected, simply click to send a message and send a couple of messages spaced out over a couple of days. And to make sure this lands the right way and cultivates profitable relationships, never ask for anything in the first couple of messages. This means don't drop a link. Don't ask them to engage on your content. Don't ask them to jump to a meeting. And certainly don't ask them to buy for anything. Think about how we would meet people in real life. You wouldn't jump down their throat and do that. You would take the time to build a relationship. So, I like to use something simple like the message on screen. Hi, name. It's great to be connected. I'm really looking forward to learning about whatever you do and I'll be looking for you in the feed to support you. Support them. Bring them up.
And this next one, if you want to increase the chance to reply, don't rush to message after somebody accepts or you look about as desperate as a Labrador staring at a plate of sausages. Instead, wait a couple of days and use that time to simply soften them up. Build the relationship by dropping a couple of likes or comments on the content. But only do that if the content is less than a week old or you look like that drunk ex on a Saturday night who accidentally likes the Instagram post from 2 years ago. And that's not a good look.
And then for this next one, if you want to make your messages even more impactful, then use this quick hack. Use Loom. We mentioned it earlier. Make sure you're on their profile and sharing the screen with you in the corner. Simply hit record and then when you paste it into their message on LinkedIn, they'll see your profile. They'll see you on it and they won't be able to resist clicking. And when I do this, I tend to be a bit more direct and it's great in a follow-up because you have the added dimensions of your energy and confidence, which is the vast majority of communication according to studies. So, if you rehearse this and do this in the right way, you're going to have a great chance. So, simply use the script on screen. If you want all my additional scripts, grab the downloads below. And then you're going to get even more replies.
But if you want to get even more still, use this next hack. It's straight out of the book, Influenced by Chowini. And we've adapted this for LinkedIn over the last eight years because he says that humans like to spend time with people who are members of the same community because it's what we used to do when we were hunters and gatherers. And to be honest, we don't need to do that. It's just what we do, right? So, in order to start selling people on LinkedIn, target people who live in the same geography as you or studied at the same educational institution or worked at the same place. And if you stack all of these on top of each other in LinkedIn Sales Navigator, we call this trust stacking. And you can see on screen there's a simple search that we like to do when we're doing it. And I recommend getting the free trial. And make sure when you're using the keyword, you don't click on the bits below because it will take you to the people working there or studying there. Now, make sure you just press enter. And when I do this, I get an almost 90% connect acceptance and loads of conversations.
And for this next hack, the first thing people are going to do once they accept your connect message is they're going to start seeing your content because that's the way that LinkedIn works. And if you are new or unknown on LinkedIn, you don't want to spend loads of time doing that content and yet you want to build trust quickly. Then simply use this hack because in 15 minutes you can just borrow other people's authority and other people's trust and look super popular. So simply look for super popular people that your potential clients will also like and share their posts and put it in the feed and people will automatically trust you. And this is called the halo effect and it's a super well-known psychological principle. And if you like, you can take this even further and use it as a super powerful tool to start conversations. Simply click on the post, send us a message, and then send it to somebody you've just connect with and say, "I saw this and I I thought you might be interested on it based in your content." You'd be amazed how many responses you get.
And this next one will help you build even deeper trust with your audience. And it's sometimes called the KT, no like trust factor. And it means posting something that helps people believe change is possible. Because as entrepreneurs and and people growing their business or even as a personal brand or getting jobs, we're all selling every single moment of every single day. Somebody's selling, somebody's buying. Maybe it's not a product. Maybe it's an idea, belief, or concept. And the best way to do this is to post a before and after story. People can argue with facts. They can argue with statistics, but not with your own personal journey. And if you've experienced what they're experiencing and showcase how you've gotten past it, you're going to get loads of engagement and loads of comments and people are going to go, "Wow, this person is exactly like me." So, simply start by stating the problem you're experiencing. Describe what you did and describe what happened. And I do this with my health a lot.
And this next one will solve all of the problems of finding people to comment on, commenting people, and it taking absolutely ages. It will pour fuel on all of the tactics you just learned. I like to use the aware app and you can grab a link below along with an in-depth written guide on all these steps so that you can
