Claude Code is most likely the most powerful AI tool currently available, and most people don't use it because it contains the word "code," leading them to believe they might need technical skills or programmers to deal with this tool. If you open Claude for the first time like this, it can be very confusing for you, and most people in this situation won't know how to start using Claude Code. I actually looked for some tutorials on Claude Code to see how people explain it on YouTube, and I found that most of them are technical. This is not a bad thing, but as a beginner, you need a place to learn things more easily. Most of them try to make you use the terminal, which is actually the brain of your computer. This is very good, and for me, I also use it this way, but in the first stage, I want you to learn, I don't want you to learn this way. I want to give you something much easier to start with today, and that's why I made this video. And so that you understand, this video is for beginners. If you are not a beginner with Claude Code, wait for the upcoming videos that will be more advanced. But this video will be only for beginners who have never used Claude Code in their lives. And in this video, I will teach you exactly how to use Claude Code according to your needs, because this Claude Code is not like other applications like ChatGPT, Gemini, or even regular Claude. This application can actually create files, edit them, and even delete them from your device without you intervening. With it, you can create websites, applications, and even tools for anything you need, plus all kinds of automation that come to your mind. You will be able to do it here. So, simply, before we start, what is Claude Code? I simply imagine it as an agent or programmer I have who can do anything I want with code without me intervening. Do you want tools and a dashboard for your work? It can do it for you. It can create small applications, large applications, landing pages, and websites too. And on top of all that, like other new applications, you can now connect your data so that they are all connected together. For example, connect it to your Google Drive, Slack, GitHub, all the files you need. You will be able to connect them here with Claude or Claude Code. And the last point I want to tell you before we start: if you have heard of the term "vibe coding," which is when you open applications and tell these applications to create programs for you, and these applications create programs for you based on their AI. Most of these applications have Claude Code inside them. So when we use Claude Code today, it's as if we went to the source of these applications. Again, Claude Code can do much more than just vibe coding. So let's start together to understand point by point what it can do.
First, we will start by knowing where we will use Claude Code. As you can see, many people use it on many platforms. Some people, for example, use it on the terminal like this. Other people use it on applications like this to see the files that Claude Code creates for them, as well as to see what they can do with Claude Code in these applications. And this is the place where we will develop for the next stage, but today is not that stage. What we will do is simply download Claude Code onto our device and use its desktop application because, honestly, I see it as the most suitable place for you to start as a beginner and get used to it. Then we will start with the heavy stuff. So if you are ready, click on desktop, and let's go download Claude Code onto our device. And one last point to be able to use Claude Code, you must have a Claude subscription from them. You can choose the subscription you want, and then we will start with this subscription. For me, I have currently chosen the Pro. Now, when you download Claude Code or regular Claude, it will be like this. You will be able to talk to the regular chat like the website you have. This regular chat, where you will not write code, you will be able to use the "work" later, which is actually an AI agent, and I will tell you more about this later. But what we will focus on today is actually the regular code or regular Claude Code, which we will have it write code for us based on this code, we will see what it will do. Now, I know I need to explain more about the topic, but let's get a little hands-on with Claude Code and have it do something for us while I explain some topics. What do you think? Let's ask it to create a simple landing page for my project or my work, which is actually building automation applications and AI applications for companies. Something very simple, not professional programming. And this is what I will tell you more about, and I will have it do it. Enter from Sonnet 4.6, or you can choose Opus. For me, I will choose the first prompt, Opus, and now I will explain more about the topic and have it enter.
Generally, when you see here, before it creates any project for me, it tells me what is the first thing: "Select Folder." What does "Select Folder" mean? It tells you that Claude Code will write your code files. You won't read anything from the code right now, but it will create these files for you. And I told you that it will be able to add files to its device or to your device. Therefore, you must choose a folder or a file where it will put all the code files you will need to run this application. So you go and choose the file you want. For example, I will tell it "Choose different folder" and give it a folder. Give it a new folder just to clear it out, and tell it "OK" and let it create the project in this folder. And make sure you let it do "Auto accept edits." Then tell it "Go, trust workspace" because it will ask you if it is safe for this application to create files and work on your files. Tell it "Allow." Let me tell you a little about a few things we have in Claude. If you look down, you will find that we have first "Opus 4.6 Sonnet" and we have "Haiku" or whatever you want to call it. I don't know. These are the AI models. The highest and most powerful model currently is "Opus 4.6." It is actually the most expensive model. So when you use it, it will actually take more of your credits. Therefore, I usually like to use it in my personal account, but for the first prompt, so that it plans all the topics for me, then I will switch to Sonnet 4.6 and let it do the simpler things so that I don't spend all my money or my credits on simple things. Now I will show you how we will use this later, but let it stay as it is for now. Now, if you look here on the left side, you will find three things. You will find "Ask Permissions," "Auto Accept Edits," and "Plan Mode." Actually, these are the options you can give your AI to deal with your files. If, for example, I tell it "Ask Permissions," it means every time it wants to create a file, edit a file, or work on a file, it will ask you for permissions. It will tell you, "Do you want me to do it or not?" So that we save ourselves time, we tell it "Auto Accept Edits." Currently, we can do this. This means it can edit files, create files, but when it wants to create new files and delete files, it will ask you for your approval. And there is "Plan Mode." I imagine it as my prompt writer. When I don't want to write a prompt, I just open it in Plan Mode, and now I will show you how. And I tell it, "Create a plan to build application 1, 2, 3, for example." Okay? And this mode or this option will start asking you questions, and these questions are about your work that you haven't even thought about. Based on them, it will give you a complete prompt, and then it will tell you, "Do you want me to start implementing this for you?" When you use Plan Mode, actually, when we want to build any application, we use Plan Mode. But currently, I am not using it, but because the application will be something very simple and easy, I will not wait for anything. So for the next application, I will show you in this video, we will use Plan Mode. But for now, let's wait for this topic to finish here. If you look here, from the first prompt, it has actually created a complete website for me. I asked it to give me a landing page, so it won't go into much detail on these topics. Now, if you look here, for example, there is something I don't like. So I can simply go and talk to the AI and tell it what to do. But for example, if I look at the links, the links are not working links. But it always shows you, it loops back to the same page. The names can always be changed later. We can change the mode from being just for desktop or for the website to being for mobile. We can see it on the mobile screen. And we can also, through the thing in the corner, choose an element from the things here and tell it to edit it the way you want. For example, I want to tell it, "This logo looks like a lightning bolt in the chatbot. I want to tell it, please change the logo shape from a lightning bolt to a robot shape." Since we are talking about automation, this is just for testing to show you what we can do. Instead of letting it be Opus 4.6, I will let it be Sonnet. What is the problem? Now, if you are watching a future video, nothing will differ except the model. So this is normal. There is something you will notice if you have ever used vibe coding tools in general. This tool actually takes longer than others because, usually, you will find that it is doing tests on its own. It is taking pictures of everything, and it is testing your application. It keeps taking pictures and seeing if this application worked or not. Based on that, it develops your application. So this way, you can create normal websites. I just wanted to give you an idea of what you can do. I wanted you to learn how to edit the things you want. You can write code as you wish. Now, we are currently starting the first stage. Now let me show you how we can build a mini app, a small application. So what I want to do is get out of here and go to a new session. Now, before we go to a new session, let's go to the chat, and I want to explain something to you. We create many small applications, especially for me, I create them for a lot of work. So I want to show you how we can create applications like this. I go to Sonnet 4.6. I don't have to use anything higher than this. And I tell it, simply, give me a prompt. I want to give Claude Code so that it creates a mini app or a small application for the top 20 YouTube channels currently about AI, and it keeps updating all the time. Maybe something like this, or maybe the best 20 new AI tools. Maybe I'll just make it the best 20 new AI tools. Yes, give me a prompt. Create a mini app or a small application for a dashboard. I want to remove this, honestly. This is new. Okay. And I tell it, just create this for me. And of course, the more you give it information about your work and give it more context, the better the answer it will give you. But for us now, we are just doing this to show you how powerful Claude or AI in general has become. And let it create a quick prompt for us. And this is, by the way, this Sonnet, as I told you, 4.6, not even Opus, the highest. So let me see when it finishes and I'll get back to you.
As you can see here, it gave me a prompt and told me to give this prompt to any Claude tool I have. And it even told me some designs. It didn't give me numbers, just so we can see AI and all these things. Now, for me, it doesn't matter. Let me take this code as it is, or this prompt as it is. Let's go to Code or Claude Code. And now, don't forget to change the file you are using. Now, for me, I created files inside a little while ago, the "undefined folder for" that I created files for the landing page a little while ago. Now, for example, I want to create a new application. So I need to change the file. I need to put my file in a new application. So I go to files, maybe go to any place, for example, downloads, and give it content, and tell it I want a new file, and give it "Open." Let it download my new code to a new folder. So I give it the same prompt that regular Claude gave me from the regular chat, and I tell it, instead of "Auto accept edits," let it give me "Plan Mode" so I can show you how it is. "Plan Mode" is actually one of the best things you can do. And I always told you, the first prompt, I like to leave it as Opus, just in general, to get the topic sorted out. It asks me, "Do you want to trust this?" I tell it "Yes, trust" because it usually creates files and these things. Now, the cool thing, quickly, as soon as it finishes, if you look here in "Plan Mode," it has actually given me a detailed explanation of what it will do. It told me what the context is, what the approach is, what the steps it will follow, and even the colors it will use and the styling. Now, if you want to modify something, you can tell it exactly what you want to modify. This is very good, but because this video, we don't want to modify anything, we just want to tell it, at this button here, "Approve Claude Plan and Start Coding." Simply, it will start writing the code on its own and preparing the file. So let's stop now and see. It will start asking you questions, like here it is telling you, "Do you want me to create this file for you?" Since we gave it permission that it is allowed, but when it asks us about these topics, I tell it "OK for this project" and I keep giving it permissions for the amount of things it needs. If we want to do something like "Bypass Permissions," to let it do everything without asking us any questions, I will show you that in a future video. But for this video, let's keep it safe and let it ask us every time it wants to create a new file or edit a file. It's better for us. Now, if you look in front of you, it has created the dashboard it told you about. Actually, it just took one prompt and created all this work for me. I haven't modified it yet. I haven't even given it a reference. We usually open references and give it pictures of something I want it to create for me, so that it can create it for me. But currently, there is nothing. It's doing it all on its own. I haven't given it anything yet because I don't want to show you how powerful this AI is. Here I will show you later, but I just want to show you what the application can do on its own. You can actually create a complete website for a dashboard. Actually, just to see that it's the best 20 tools. You might tell me that this is static, and this is indeed static. But this is okay. This is currently not what we want. I want to leave it like this, just to show you what Claude can do. If you look up, and if you have ever used vibe coding tools, you will know that this is actually a local host running on my device. What does this mean? It means this website, no one else in the world can see it. If you used vibe coding tools, as I told you before, they usually give you a link. This link is on their application, their cloud. So you can get the link from it. The link will have the name of the vibe coding tool you are using, and you give it to people. And this is the only good thing about them: they can just give you a ready link that you can distribute to people. With Claude Code, it's not like that. Claude Code will run it on your device. But when you want to upload it to a host, there will be some extra things you need to do, and I will show you that later. But for now, it's very good. Here, you can modify this, of course, as you wish. But for now, let's go to the next stage, which is building complete applications, maybe for your work or for your team. What I want to do is go back to the regular chat of Claude Code or regular Claude, not Claude Code, and from here, I want to ask it to give me a new chat. And from here, I will tell it, or give it Ctrl+V, so you can see. I want to tell it, simply, create an interview and ask me about my work. Then, based on this conversation that we will have, give me a file named "Claude.md." This file should contain all the information I want. Why am I doing this? Simply, if we want to build complete applications for our work, then we need Claude Code to know more about our work, as much as possible. Okay? So if you usually use, maybe let's say Gemini, or if you use ChatGPT, then you go and give them this prompt and tell them to ask you these questions, and based on them, they will give you a Claude Code file. We will put this file in Claude, and this file will remain with Claude. Whenever it wants to do something for us, it will refer to this file if we put it in our project or in our project so that it understands what we want. Based on this, it will always understand what you want to do. And this is very good, and this is very powerful for AI. So I can tell it the same thing and tell it "Enter." Now, for me, I created this file from ChatGPT. What I want to do is go to Code or regular Claude Code and tell it to give me a new session. I don't want to see this session, and I want to tell it, simply, open a new folder. I want to put the Claude Code file, "Claude.md," that I gave you a little while ago, in this folder. I told it "Choose new folder," give it this folder. Then, if you look here, I gave it all the markdown for Claude Code, or the regular Claude chat, and I told it to give it to me as "Claude.md." It gave me this markdown, which I already told you will tell you a little about my work and my conversations. All of this goes here. I tell it "Download," put it in the file you want. For me, I want to put it in a folder called "Delete" because I told you I want to expand this. This is a folder called "Delete." We said in folder number three, and from here I put "Save Claude.md." Make sure it's ".md" and then download it. Now, when it's downloaded here, you will open the code, and you will have the same folder where you just put what? "Claude.md." Now, here you tell it what you want to do based on this. It will develop a real business or a real application that will be related to your business. So let's try together and see what I did. I told it, simply, I want an application that tells me about the new AI that is currently available and is really useful, and based on that, it gives me content ideas that I want to post. Then I told it to use "Claude.md" as context so that it can review the information and understand based on it what my business needs. And I told it to give me a prompt. This is the regular chat of Claude. So I will copy it all as it is and go to Code and tell it, simply, as I told you, I gave it Ctrl+V, I gave it all the prompt that "Claude.md" gave me, and I tell it "Opus," or let's put it as "Sonnet" this time so that we don't finish our subscription. And let's keep it in "Plan Mode" so that it prepares the whole idea for us, then we tell it "Enter," "Trust workspace," "Trust workspace," and let's see what it will give us.
Now, it has finished writing the code, according to its words. Because if you look here, it has finished writing. But here it is still telling you "Setup." But generally, if it doesn't work, it will tell you to go do this and go do "npm run." But I want to tell it, simply, to verify the project, run it, and see if the project is working or not, because I don't know if the project is working or not. Hmm. Now, after we have seen all these topics, let's go and look at some customization for Claude Code in general. What does customization mean? Now, you make Claude Code understand you more and more. If you have heard of the concept of "skills" before, or watched videos talking about skills, you should know what skills do. Now I will tell you about them, but first, we can connect many applications with Claude Code. All these applications you see in front of you, we can connect them with Claude Code. Based on this, Claude Code, the AI, will control these applications. And this is what we want when we want specific applications, like Gmail, Google in general, Notion, Slack, HubSpot, whatever you want. All these topics, we can let the AI control them, as if it were an agent or an employee of ours, just by giving it the ability to access these applications. But now, we will talk about this in a separate, detailed video, along with skills. But let's generally tell you what skills are, or let's look here at what skills are. "Create new skills." Simply, the skill, let me tell you in our normal concept. You learn a skill, let's say you learned chess today, and after a week, I come and tell you, "Come play chess with me." You can create skills yourself, you can buy them, and you can find ready-made things on the internet. All these topics are available. You might see here from Claude themselves. They have skills. These skills are available. These skills, you always give them to the AI, and based on them, the AI will build its work. If you go here to "Front-end Design," you will find that there is a skill for "Front-end Design." The skills they have are actually just skills that you can download here in the code. For example, I have downloaded "Front-end Design" on Claude Code. How do you download your own skills for Claude Code? You go to any browser, to Claude Code Skills. You will find first that people are talking to you about Claude Code. You will find what skills Claude Code can do. Now, we have skills. Claude Code itself, the company Claude Code, which is Anthropic. I always get confused with the names. They have released these plugins for Claude Code skills. There are other places, which you might tell me, "Claude Code plugins." And these plugins are actually what we consider as skills. Simply, you will find complete skill files. For example, "Claude Claude Claude Plugin." You might look for their plugin. You will find many things, and I will show you them later, God willing, for skills. But generally, skills, so that you understand them, are a skill you teach the AI, and this AI can refer to this skill at any time you want. If you have put it as skills, and finally, I want to show you before we leave, so that we go to the next stage, which is that I mentioned VS Code to you, to write code in VS Code or an IDE. I might use IntelliJ IDEA, maybe you use VS Code. Simply, it's just a place where we can put Claude Code so that we can see the files, we can see the code. More technical people go to these places. You click on it, but regular Claude Code, yes, you tell it "Yes." It opens the folder that it is working on in Claude Code. This file here, which is the code written here, is Claude Code itself that it wrote for you. But it has opened it here. You can now see the code, you can see the structure of the code. This is what you want. You can modify something, you can modify it from here. Of course, you can do the same thing you use in IntelliJ IDEA for people who use IntelliJ IDEA. IntelliJ IDEA, like this, you can also use Claude Code here from the terminal, or maybe even download it as an extension. An extension like this, you will have Claude Code. So generally, Claude Code is everywhere now. You can use it in anything you want. Here you can deal with it more as a technical matter. And the last thing we want to talk about is GitHub in general. I will summarize it for you. GitHub is a place that I want you to imagine as a folder uploaded to a cloud. Anyone can access this cloud, see your code, and use your code if you have made it public or private. You can allow this to happen with you. So why do we use GitHub? Generally, code is not usually created all at once, or it is not built all at once. So when we write code on a specific day, we finish the code for the day, make the modifications we want, upload it to GitHub. The version of this day is saved, or the version of the upload we uploaded is saved. The next time we modify the code, and there is a problem with the code, we have a backup. The working version of our old working version, we can retrieve it from GitHub. This is one of the things we can do. But in our case, we can do something new in GitHub, or not really new, but for people who work with vibe coding tools, it's considered new. Which is that you will upload the file to GitHub. Then from GitHub, you will put it on an external host. This host will actually take the code you wrote here in Claude Code, then put it on an external platform. This platform will give you a link. This link, people can use and access the application you built. So if you want to do it as a business, you want to sell something with it, you want to build applications with it, how do you do this? Simply, from customization, you go to "Connectors" again, and go to GitHub. Connect your GitHub account. I will show you what a GitHub account will look like. A GitHub account, simply, will look like this. You will connect your GitHub account. Then you go to Claude Code and tell it to upload the project. Once you finish your project, you tell it to upload my project to GitHub. Actually, it will create a repository for the project you want. For example, I created this project on GitHub a while ago, exactly a day ago. It uploaded my entire project to GitHub. Of course, I don't have to understand anything from it. I take this project and go to another application, which is Vercel. From Vercel, I am actually subscribed to the free subscription. I haven't paid anything. But generally, you connect your GitHub account here too. I have made more videos about this topic before. Vercel will automatically take the code you wrote for me or gave me in GitHub, then run it, and give you an external link. It will tell you, "Go and use my link and take this application that you built." Based on this application, you can use it as you wish. If you want to deal with people with it, you can deal with it. You can go to the admin dashboard, log in, all these things, of course.
