Jesse Duplantis Full Sermons - Going The Wrong Way on the Right Road

If you got your Bibles, you ready to hear the word? Turn with me to the Book of James, chapter one. Now, you know, I know it's Father's Day today, but I, the Lord has given me this message, and I'm just gonna have to preach it. It doesn't deal with fathers, but in one sense, it does. Because if you don't, let me just say, I've said this many times, if you don't know where you're going, you're not gonna know when you get there. I have realized that so much in people's lives. I want to talk to them, and the problem is that they're going, but they don't know where they're going. They're just kind of floating, you know, hoping they might get somewhere.

And I want you to say this: If you want to go to Minneapolis, Minnesota today, you can't get there going south, because Minneapolis isn't south. [Music] You see, if you want to go to Canada today, and you're in South Louisiana, you're not going to get there. You can get on a road there, but you're not going to get there if you're going south.

Now, I want to start reading James, chapter one. The title of this message this morning, and I wrote it on the way going to Australia the other day, and the Spirit of God quickened me to minister here today, is "Going the Wrong Way on the Right Road." Going the Wrong Way on the Right Road. You'd be surprised how many people are going, I mean, they're going the wrong way, but but they're on the right road. Which they're so totally confused, they can't figure out why nothing's working. They said, "But I'm on the road." Yeah, but you're going in reverse. You're going the wrong way on the right road.

And let me show you how that happens to you as a man, as a person that knows the Lord, or may not even know the Lord. You can still go the wrong way on the right road. James, chapter 1, verse 1. "James, a servant of Jesus and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting." Then he says, "My brethren, counted all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations." I think you do that when everything's going wrong. Can you count it all joy? Because you see, they didn't finish the sentence. Knowing this, the only way you can count it all joy when you're growing through tough times is to know this. Know what? Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. How many of you want to get up one morning and never have to walk for anything? Oh, yeah. Well, you've got to let patience have its perfect work. What God is telling you to do is quit looking at the diverse temptations and look at the power of what patience will do for you in your life.

Then it says this: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God." Why? So many people want to talk to me, "Well, Brother Jesse, I don't know what to do about that." Excuse me, the Bible said, "Let him ask of God." Let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally, or to all, to everyone liberally. So God is a liberal Giver, a generous Giver. Let me read that again. "If any of you lack wisdom," and that means this is you're going through darkest temptations, but you're knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience, and you're wondering why all this stuff's going on, why this is happening. You, what the Lord said, ask Him.

Now, notice when you ask God, God's gonna give you something. He don't just leave you hanging out there and hanging on. He said, "Let him ask." "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men liberally, all people, uh, liberally, and it shall be given him." Now, how do you get it? "Let him ask in faith, nothing wavering." Nothing that's your spirit, your soul, and your body cannot waver up when you're dealing with what you want. When you're on a mission from God, spirit, soul, body. Notice that. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.

Then he tells you why. "For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." So, in other words, whatever the circumstances push you, that's where you go. That's what you get. That's a tumultuous lifestyle. I've seen a lot of Christians on the sea of tumultuous living. [Music] Hmm.

Then it says this, for let not, verse 7, "For let not that man or person think that he shall receive anything of the Lord." Now, notice, you can be peace, I never received nothing of the Lord. And then he tells you why. "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways." He's, he's more unstable than the sea that's tossing to and fro. A double-minded person going the wrong way on the right road is a double-minded individual. They're moved by the circumstances of life, they're moved by the emotions of life, they're moved by what people think about them instead of what God thinks about them. They want everything God has, but they're not willing to obey anything He asks, because if it doesn't suit them or fit them, they don't think it's right. You see what I'm saying? I haven't personally said, "Well, I gotta write." I said, "No, you don't. You have a choice. Choose ye this day whom you serve." There's a choice here involved.

So, write this down: Double-mindedness comes from a want of faith. How do you become double-minded? Because you have a lack or a want of faith. I call it, it's called being too sold. What do you mean? The soul is your two soul. One minute you're doing this. You ever seen a child take off running? A baby, they stop and they stop all of a sudden, turn and go together. They don't know which way to go. They just, you know, their mind's going one way, their body's going another, and they're trying to come in the middle to find something somewhere. So, a double-minded, a double-mindedness comes from a want of faith. It's called being too sold. "Well, I tried that, and I'm gonna do this, and I'm gonna see." You haven't made any decision when you try, because you see, you quit if it doesn't work. That's called trying. But when you make a, your mind up to do something, I don't care how many times it don't work, you're gonna get it to work. You're not giving up on what you want done. But you may have found there may be different ways to approach that particular thing you need done.

So, it's going the wrong way on the right road. There are a lot of people that want the fullness of God, but they're going the wrong way to get it. They want the power of God, but they deny the power of God. They want God to deny the power of Him. They want God to touch them, but won't let God to touch their tongue. Called being filled with the Holy Ghost. Now, that's a doctrinal statement, I know that. But this, if it's got to come to that, I don't want that to happen. Okay? Then you'll never receive it, and you'll wonder why some of those people that speak in them tongues that you don't like are just so happy or so crazy. Because you can be filled with the Holy Ghost and don't know how to handle the Holy Ghost, and you get too sold on that. You get double-minded and unstable. See, because sometimes some people are full of Pentecost, get so unstable, they try to clean out the outer exterior of an individual and think that's gonna make them righteous by taking their makeup off. That's gonna make them ugly. Let me make that announcement. That's gonna make them ugly. Gonna strip them down of anything that might look nice so they can look pioused. You see? Now, that's unstableness.

Well, here's another unstable. Trying to get people to speak in a Godly language that doesn't want to. So you make up words for them to say. How many of y'all ever experienced that in your life? Okay, say this. Yes. What? Say that again. That's Coca-Cola. They ain't got nothing to do with no tongue. That's C-O-C-A-H-C-O-L-A. Just trying to get you to do something. Going the wrong way on the right road. How many of you went to get the Holy Ghost and they spit in your face, screamed in your ears, and you wanted to punch them? Be honest. Come on. See, that's unstableness.

Here's something else unstable. God can do anything, but if you don't help it today, I'm not gonna make it. It won't tell me. It won't jump. Jesus! Then all of a sudden, somebody say, "A big off!" Forgiven. Ah, just kidding. Cut them tears off in a second. That's unstableness. That's too sold. That's a want of faith. Don't shout me down when I'm preaching good. You're going, you're on the right road, but you're going the wrong way. Oh, you're hearing what I'm saying.

So, double-mindedness comes from a want of faith. It's called being too sold. Now, write this down. There are two sides and two ways of thinking. Either you stand with God, or you stand with man. Let me say it again. There are two sides and two ways of thinking. Either you stand with God, or you stand with man. I have decided to stand with God. That's why I don't care if the media speaks evil of me. I don't care what anybody says about me, because they ain't got anything to do with what they say. They're not gonna judge me. I'll stand before God, and He will hand out the rewards that I deserve. See, I decided to stand with God. I stand sometimes for some things that are not very politically correct, but that doesn't make any difference. I'm not interested in political correctness. I'm interested in obedience to God's word.

I, some people say, "Well, boy, Lord, he's so blessed." As I preached last week, I'm not living lavishly, I'm living biblically. How are you living? Because every way I'm living, I can prove biblically. But some of you are living in nothing in the Bible, the way how you live it. Trying to be poor. What are you gonna do? Somebody got to help you. Poverty is wonderful. How are you trying to get out? You see what I'm saying? That's foolishness. That's ignorance. Going to see. That's double-mindedness completely. When God says, "I'll bless you in the city, in the field, going in, going out." You should say, "Okay." But you said, "No, no, no. I'm not worth the Lord." No, no, no, no, no. I'm not worthy. That's an, that's an unstable individual. Don't shout me down when I'm preaching good. They're on the right road. They love God. They're gonna go to heaven, but blessed God, it's gonna be a struggle to get there.

Jesse was right. Well, put him into school because if you didn't learn it here, you're gonna learn it there. God wants you to be blessed. They want you to be a blessed. Well, what about all these preachers stealing money? They're going to hell, probably. What are you worried about that for? They ain't none of your business. Stealing's a sin. Thou shalt not. What part of that you don't understand? You see my point? I'm not interested in it. I'm interested in living biblically and not be unstable in all my ways. I've had many people say, "I've been knowing you for many years, from the beginning of your ministry. You've never changed." To what? What would I change to? Unstableness.

A lot of time when we're flying in the plane, we get into something called unstable air, an unstable atmosphere. And when that happens, you can take it to the bank, destruction is coming. When you get hot air and cold air coming together, it's called Tornado Alley. Something's gonna happen. You see, it's unstable. That's why low atmospheric lows are unstable, and atmosphere highs are calm. One is counterclockwise, and one is clockwise. Guess what? The low is counterclockwise. The high is clockwise. The high is going forward. The low is going backwards. Do you see that? So, there are two sides and two ways of thinking. Either you stand with God, or you stand with man.

So, I decided to stand with God. Why? Write this down: Faith is a personal act. That's a personal thing to live by faith. Faith is a personal act. It is most pure when you abandon human understanding, when you choose to have childlike trust in His divine inspiration and divine instruction. Let me say it again. Faith is always a personal act. I don't try to get you to live by my faith. Paul said, "I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth with me." And the life which I now live in the flesh, watch this, "I live by the faith of the Son of God." So, what did Paul do? Saint Paul lived by the faith of the Son of God. Let me do a little preacher first. I get funny after a while. Just let me get this in here.

So, faith is a personal act. When you are, how do you do that? It is most pure when you abandon human understanding, when you choose to have childlike trust in His divine inspiration and divine instruction. When I built this place, I abandoned all of my human understanding and I took on pure faith that I would build this place debt-free. And I didn't even have 20% of the money to do it. But when I walked and hit, when it was all finished, it was completely paid for without begging, screaming, bawling, squalling. Why? Because I was not double-minded in what God called me to do. And if I would have slipped a little bit, there would be a mortgage on this place. There would be interest being paid. We are saving over 20 million dollars in 25 years by building this campus debt-free. Somebody shout! [Applause] Twenty-five, twenty million dollars. What interest would have been paid on this campus if we'd have done it on a 25-year note? But we abandoned all the human understanding. We chose to live childlike. Glory to God, because this faith in me was a personal life, and it was in its purest form. And you know how many people tried to change my mind? Every financial institution told me I couldn't. But I have created something in this community. They said, "If that man tells you something, he'll do what he says. And if he goes to do something, you can take it to the bank. It's gonna be first class."

Well, I tried second class. Why? Because when I was born, I didn't have any class. [Music] I was born without no class. But that's all right. I didn't know where class was, but I made up my mind I could learn pretty quick. I decided to go the right way on the right road. I realized I needed everything God said I could. If Peter could do it, I had to have it. If Saint Paul, Saint Matthew, the great disciples, Lord, if God gave them the ability to do that, then I must have the same ability to accomplish what God wants me to do. I'm not worthy to latch their shoes, as far as I'm concerned. But let me shock you. God thinks I am. And God thinks you are. Do you see that?

Let me say it again. Faith is always a personal act. It is most pure. I love that. When you abandon human understanding, when you choose to have childlike trust in His divine inspiration and divine instruction. When I walk around here, I get totally in. I get my inspirations. Just jumps up. I go, "Glory, that God lost Jesus! You've been such a..." I said, "Did I tell you thank you today?" When I get in that InterContinental jet, that people criticize, I just fly over their heads. Go and preach the gospel. Lord Jesus. I see Delta on the ground and American on the ground, and Jesse just fly over. I just tell David, "Go a little higher." They go to 29, 33. David puts that plane, hits that nose up. Lord Jesus, here we go. We're going to 40,000, 43,000, and sometimes 45. We are up there high. See what you doing? Looking down.

Jehovah has been good to me. Now, I can tell when they turn that plane, I'll go ask them what they're doing because I got a map. I'm looking at. I see where that plane's going. I know where New York is. All of a sudden, we're heading to London. I said, "David, what are you doing?" "Uh, boss, they're turning us out over the water. We got to get past this and that." The other day, we were just, we made a donut. I mean, we just flew around and around and around and around and around. And on the map, boy, it was just red line. I said, "David, had they forgot us?" "No, they got, got to get away from this. There's a thunderstorm over there, right over the airport, and we can't fly in there." He said, "So, we just pulled back in circles." So, we just circled. You say, "We just circled." So, I got a satellite phone. I call a guy waiting on me, and he was in water. The storm bloomed the doors of the airport and flooded the place. He said, "You don't want to land now." Okay. Go around and round and round. Finally, it moved over, and all of a sudden, I saw that plane go. And then Dave will always turn around, goes like he wants to wave to me, you know. I know what's gonna happen. We're gonna have some cloud. I mean, we're gonna get bumpy. He goes like, "Yeah, I got it. I got it. I got it." Because I know. And I've been in some major bumps in my life. I've seen Kathy's rear end go to the ceiling. Excuse my French. Oh. [Laughter] That's fine. Don't worry about it. Because sometimes you get thrown up and thrown to the side, and all that kind of stuff. Then you get all these funny sounds going on that plane like it's got indigestion or something. They was flying back, and I heard someone go, "I thought, what is this? Does my plane have gas?" I looked at my flight attendant. She said, "Did you hear that?" I said, "Yes, I heard that." And then David is David at Anderson, "Did y'all hear?" Now I see, because they got the earphones on their head, you know, people talking to them. "You out here now?" I said, "Yeah. This baby hungry. Are y'all fat in broccoli, one or the other?" Something man right here. We'll come to find out what happened is one of the fuel tanks was empty. I think. I said, "And the pump was pumping air." So, but we got a lot of different fuel tanks and all that kind of stuff. And that's all it was. It was nothing. We went in no trouble. But when you don't know, you hear those sounds, you go, "What now?" I couldn't let fear come in. Ah, that would make me unstable.

You ever seen fear hit somebody unstable? The other day, I walked into my house, and my housekeepers, Lord Jesus. And you know, Heli, uh, speak Spanish, and and and Kiki. And I come walking. Watch it. They, I love doing this. And they were in my bathroom. And me and Kathy, they're clean. They're just talking, you know. And so I just come walking in my bedroom. They ain't heard me yet. They just talk, cleaning the house. And I walked in. I didn't go, "Boop." I just walked in and stood by the door. They still had both had their backs worked. They turned. They turned around. They went white. One girl's black, the other girl is Hispanic. Heli goes, and Kiki, oh, took off running. See, black people are smarter than white people and Spanish. See, I have to help you. Let me get a little funny here. You haven't noticed most people get killed in a horror movie of white people? Have you ever noticed that? Because white people are stupid. They want to know what's behind the door. There's a guy behind the door with a knife, and the white people going, "Well, what, what, what's behind it?" The black people like that, "Wham! Down the road! Hey, fool! Stupid! Get out of it!" You ever notice Kiki took it all running. Heli just mine. Oh. And finally, then they recognize me. Oh, pause. They were unstable.

Which brings me to the next point. We should be spiritual athletes, not spiritual invalids. Write that down. We should be spiritual athletes, not spiritual invalids. I've seen so many invalids in the body of Christ, and I'm not talking about people that are physically sick. I'm talking about spiritually. "Miss, is this trying? We're just trying to get through so we can make it." "Oh, Jesus, Lord, help us." And he said, "No." Why? He can't help you. He would break His word to help you. He'd have to line up with doubt and unbelief to do that. He will not do that. We should be spiritual athletes instead of spiritual invalids.

Now, you see, when you become double, you become two soldiers. I said, you see, you become unstable. You begin to inflict something. Did you, you cause a sickness yourself. Write this down: Double-mindedness is a self-inflicting injury done to your spiritual organ. See, you begin to allow fear to come into something that fear should not come into at all. It's self-inflicting on that spiritual organ of faith that's in your life. Let me say it again. Double-mindedness is a self-inflicting injury done to your spiritual organ. You go, "Yeah, but..." and "I know," and "I've tried," and "I've seen." Write this down: When instinct cancels knowledge, or a person refuses to act or make a personal choice, that is spiritual disorder. Let me say it again. When instinct cancels knowledge, or a person refuses to act or make a personal choice, that is spiritual disorder.

I mean this sincerely, ladies and gentlemen. When I don't make a decision on something, everything is in turmoil. It's just flipping, flip. One same way with you. When you don't make a decision concerning your children, concerning your marriage, concerning your finances. I had a mention, "How do you get out of debt, Brother Jesse?" I said, "Quit buying." [Music] "Quit buying." "Yeah, but I want that stuff." "That's okay, you'll get it, but you got to quit buying till you get out of the hole." When I first got out of debt, and I've said it before, I know for you, when I, you know how many, Kathy started getting out of debt. This is years ago. I remember everything I had had a debt on it. Everything I had had a mortgage on it. I remember when I bought my first coffee table. They didn't have that. I paid cash for it. People come over to my house. I say, "You see that coffee table? That's a debt-free coffee table." I say, "What?" I said, "Me and Kathy paid cash for that coffee table." Not everything else. The sofas is mortgaged to Sears. The washing machines are all mortgaged to Sears. You know, all that kind of stuff. But that coffee table is debt-free. See, I began to put my life in order. All of a sudden, people began to come over and say, "Do you see this furniture in this house?" "Yeah." "It is debt-free." "Nobody can pull it out from under." If you sit out on it. Now, the houses never thinking it was getting bigger than that. But I never forget when I went outside. I brought people to come over. I said, "Come outside. Look at my garage. You see that car? That car is debt-free." My furniture was debt-free. Yes. I started over what I could start off with. And then I finally got to my car. Boy, I began looking at that house. Oh, look. Remember that little house? I got that little yellow frame house there on Hilliard Street. How'd you like to have a? How do you like to have a preacher live on Hilliard Street? That's why I lived on Hilliard Street. Man, my, I began to look at the Lord said, "Will you believe me for the coffee table? And you believe me for the furniture? And you believe me for the, uh, you know, the car?" Do you think you can believe me for that? How, boy, immediately double-mindedness wants to grab, because the house is big. You know, big man, big. You know. I said, "Yes, I can." I refuse this unstable thought. I will not have. I won't be too sold in my life whatsoever. I'm gonna stand on the God side instead of the man side. So I don't have to live and pay 30 years. I am gonna double. I'm gonna knock this house out. And brother, never forget the day people came over. I said, "Walk around the place and see if you can find something that has debt on it." And they could not find. Now the house was paid for. And I thought I was finished. But then the Lord said, "Hey, I ain't finished. You want something bigger?" "Oh, yeah." "Well, would you like to mortgage it, or would you like to pay cash for it?" Well, since we're talking, "Do your thing." He said, "No, do your thing. It's gonna be the same principle. You're gonna have to go the right way on the right road." Because you can be on the right road and go the wrong way. And all of a sudden, bless God, man, boom, boom. Now, then this other house we built, and now that one's debt-free. Been debt-free for a long time. Fact, my sister asked me, "What you gonna do with that house?" I said, "What you gonna do?" I said, "Well, I'll probably sell it." "What you gonna do with?" I said, "I don't know. I'm gonna give the money to Kathy." She said, "What's wrong with it?" "I don't care." Why? Because we don't have to sell that house to build the other one. It's so nice. How did you do that? All going the right way on the right road. Not let my instinct take over. Because when three bank people came here to give me money on this, but my instinct said, "Borrow it. Everybody else does. Nothing wrong with it." And that's true. There's nothing wrong with it. That's an idea. I'm not knocking. But I thought, "Well, let me go where this man has never gone before." Do you see my point?

Um, even now, watch this. Let me say it again. When instinct cancels knowledge, or a person refuses to act or make a personal choice, that's spiritual disorder. Now, you know, even Saint Paul had the same problem. Paul had all kinds of problems. Write this down: Even the Apostle Paul, a long, long, now watch this, long after his conversion, was conscious of the misery of a divided self. Let me say it again. Even the Apostle Paul, long after his conversion, was conscious of the misery of a divided self. How do you know that? Romans chapter 7. Go read it. He said, "The things I want to do, I don't do. The things I don't want to do, I do." "Oh, wretched man that I am." That's in a book. "Who shall deliver me from this body of sin?" Was he born again? Yeah. But he was struggling. Why? Because he had a divided self. But we did say in Romans chapter 8, "Can anybody quote that first phase?" Can anybody say it a little louder? No. Can anybody quote the verse? Romans chapter 8. "Therefore, there is now no condemnation to them..." The last words he says is this, "Oh, wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from this body of sin?" It hits. He gets rid of his divided self. He gets rid of his unstableness. He says, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation to them who are in Christ." Big leap that day.

Let me say it again. Even the Apostle Paul, long after his conversion, was conscious of the misery of a divided self. Isn't it aggravating? Even little small things. Have you ever got, have you ever had a real nice time with your wife until y'all try to figure out where you're going to eat? Have you ever noticed? Everything going good. Everything going good in the call. Everything going good. Huh? And then heads thoughts. [Laughter] "What do you want to eat?" "Here comes up." Watch this. This is the body itself. "I don't know. Whatever you want." "How come I always got to pick?" "Well, I'll tell you why. The woman has to always pick because every time the man picks, the woman don't want to go." What he's picking. That's just a fact. Kathy said, "How come I always got to pick?" "Because you're picky." "Me? I need anything." "You can't. You got to be." I mean, it bothers you. I can go every day and eat exactly the same thing every day. It's called hungry. I knock it out. But not Kathy. She got to taste it. And I don't want. I, I like buffets. She hates buffets. I like to be served. Oh, great Queen. All right. Well, sir. I like to be served. Me, I like to serve myself because when I get to the restaurant, I'm already hungry. See, that's called a divided self. Misery.

Next one time, Kathy did, "Let me pick." She said, "I don't know what I wanted. Just, you just pick it." And I said, "Okay, I'm pulling this." She says, "I don't want to eat here." I backed the car out. "Where you want to go, Mama?" Here we go again. It's the misery of a divided self. Or if one of your kids go wrong, you know, "If it wouldn't have had that child, we wouldn't be having this problem." "You're the one got me pregnant." "It was your fault." "No, it ain't my fault. You don't want to turn me on, woman." That's what happened, man. Before you know, you had each other's necklace. I told Kathy, "Don't move the furniture." If you move the furniture, I hate it. When Kathy moves the furniture, I hate it because I'm always coming in late at night and all the lights off. I'm gonna kill myself in that. You know, I'm like a dog and a cat. I get trained. I know where to walk. I know how to get in there. You know, I'm like a dog. I'm like a cat. I'm serious. But you always want to move something, man. How come that? Bam, bam. And boy, when you hit that toe, it hurts so bad, you can't say nothing. You think I'm gonna kill that woman? I'm a murderer. And then I go in the bedroom. I'm hurting. She goes, "Did you see what I did?" "Oh, yeah, yeah. That's not what you did." And there's my toe going on. Jesus. And you're trying to open up the door the bathroom at night. You don't wake her up. You grab underwear with your hand. What is this? What is this? But you don't want to turn on the light because you don't want to. Like is this? That's what doorknobs are for. Hitting bras. Bras hitting you in the face. Even in hotels, they got them little strings you pull across. You walk in, and there's underwear slap you in the face, and bras. And so you're hanging them out. The misery of a divided self.

Come with me. No, I don't like that. Kenny, come. There's a place you can sit. I don't want to sit in the bra section. Because especially a man like me with white hair, look at that dirty old man just sitting there in that bra section. I hate that. You ain't kidding. Not long ago, I guess maybe a month or two months ago, went to, I guess it was Dillard's somewhere. She suggested, "There is a dress coming to the dressing room." I said, "I ain't gonna dress one of you crazy women." "No, no. You're coming right here. See all these chairs? You sit right here. I want to try on these things to make sure they fit." I said, "I don't want to do this." But all right. All right. So I'm sitting there. People can, women come in and go. All right. So I'm just looking at the wall. See all the rooms over here. Look at the wall. This woman come out. She goes, "Excuse me. Look at me. Does this fit?" Ask me that. "Do I look all right?" "Yeah." "What are you gonna do?" And then if Kathy would have come out, "What are you looking at?" "Offer." "I don't know." "She asked me to." "I ain't going in there no more." That's it. So the other day, she said, "I gotta go get some personal things." "Go personally." "I ain't going." Because I'm gonna hit the newspaper. Which brings me to my next point. Refuse conflicting thoughts, wills, and emotions. That's instability. God's way of thinking is clear, pure, and true. Let me say it again. But if you go the way of religious instruction, you are heading for a theological wilderness with a lot of weeds. I'm telling you. Say it's going the wrong way on the right road. You're on the right road, but you're just going the wrong way. So I refuse conflicting thoughts, wills, and emotions. That's instability. God's way of thinking is clear, pure, and true. People love people that are stable. You know what? You know, if you really think about it, when we pick our president, we're looking for what? Leadership, right? But we're looking for somebody that's stable. Now, looks mean a lot. If you're ugly, you're gonna have to be a strong leader. That's just a fact. Because people judge you about how you look. You know, and and some of these candidates are not too pretty. But some of the most ugly ones, who it is, some of the ugliest ones seem to have strong leadership, right? And that's what you need. And you need people that can think clear, think pure, and think true. They want somebody to say something and do it. You can't say something and then retract it because you're now in a video world. Remember this. "Read my lips. Read my lips. No new taxes." Guess what happened? "Read our lips. You lied." And that was the first Bush. But every president made mistakes. Remember this one. That's all I'm gonna say. I don't need to say nothing else. Before y'all got the revelation on that. Real quick. Did you? Lord Jesus. [Music] That's unstable.

How about this? "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall." Oh, they're strong. And then when you don't want it, you didn't want to answer a question, huh? "What? What? I can't hear." "I can't hear." "How come you're answering me?" "I don't know. I just can't hear." Hey, but you got to be a leader, man. Asked me that. They said, "Do you think we're ready for a black president?" I said, "I've been ready for a black president since the day I was born. Color ain't got nothing to do with being president." [Music] You think we're ready for a female president? I said, "That I know for sure, because men have been controlled by women since the Garden of Eden. That I know for sure. I ain't worried about that. That's not the issue to me. I just want a president." See? Yeah. I want somebody. I can leave this country. And a good president is not gonna, I'm gonna be honest with you. A good president can always have somebody mad at him or her, whoever it may be. Why? Because you can't please everybody all the time. Why? It's a democracy. You get to say what you want. See, if you're in a country, they can't say. You can do like Syria. You can run for president, but there's no one else running against you. So who's gonna win? Come on. Just good common sense, isn't it? There's nobody else on the ballot. Because you can't say what you want to say. You might think of it, you better shut your mouth. So even though this country may have a lot of things wrong with it, there's a lot of things right with it. Why don't you just give this country a handclap? We do a lot for a lot of people. Hallelujah. That's one thing I can say about George W. Bush. Whether you like this wall or not, he ain't, he ain't unstable on that son. He sees something that a lot of people don't see. But to make everybody aware. Do you know the Congress's poll numbers are worse than the president's? I think they're all ought to get fired. The whole ball of wax. I think we all start over. You know, we want people with experience. They ain't done nothing. Wouldn't it be nice to have a bunch of people that don't know what to do? We might get something done. Okay. What y'all wanna do? You know, it may sound crazy. But good Lord, I mean, we, we're standing for change.

Well, when, write this down: Faith, focus, and exercising obedience to the word stops all double-mindedness. That's 1 Corinthians 15, verse 58. You can go read it. Faith, focus, and exercising obedience to the word stops all double-mindedness. Well, just turn with me to 1 Corinthians 15. Let's read that real quick. Let me show you that. As you turn to 1 Corinthians 15, let me read, let me quote the point again. Faith, focus, and exercising obedience to the word stops all double-mindedness. 1 Corinthians 15, verse 58. "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." Did you get that? I love that. "Therefore, my beloved, be ye steadfast, immovable, and abounding." Because of that, faith, focus, and exercising obedience to the word stops all double-mindedness.

What about the crazy thoughts I get? Write this down: Contradictory thoughts will rise up in your mind to challenge the word of God. It's a fact of life. But 2 Corinthians 10:5 destroys that. "Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." You have an answer to any problem that comes against you in this scripture, if you'll take it at face value. To contradict your thoughts will rise up in your mind to challenge the word of God. Yes, they will. But 2 Corinthians 10:5 handles that.

Now, let me close with this statement, and I want you to write it down. When we realize God is omniscient. Now, what does omniscient mean? Knowing all things. And not only is He omniscient, He's omnipotent. What does that mean? Governing all things. And omnipresent. What does that mean? Close to all things. The battle of instability is finished. Let me say it again. When we realize God is omniscient, what's that word mean? He knows all things. But He's also omnipotent. He's governing all things. And He's also omnipresent. He's close to all things. When you understand omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, the battle of instability is finished. Paul said, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." What made him say that? I'm in this, I'm bound with, I'm in this prison, I'm bound with this chamber. The word of God's not about. What would make that man say that in the worst of the worst discouraging circumstances? Because they knew God was omniscient. He knew God was omnipotent. And he knew God was omnipresent. What does it mean by omniscient? Omniscient means He knows all things. Omnipotent, He's governing all things. And, uh, omnipresent, He's close to all things. See, when you know that, instead of believe that, the old days of double-mindedness is over. Your car turns around, and now you're going the right way on the right road.

I have to say something, and it's terrible to say. I find, I would say most of Christianity is going the wrong way on the right road. It really is. When all these terrible problems can be this, this, this, um, terrible thing called prejudice. So stupid. We have to live with each other. It makes no difference. Talk about going the wrong way on the right road. You actually destroy. You are angry at some, at God's creation, which is crazy. But you see, when you understand, and I love that He's omniscient. Oh, that just blesses me. Which means He knows all things. He's omnipotent. He's covering all things. He's omnipresent. He's close to all things. A lot of people say, "But just the same, to be so stable." Well, I'm not double-minded. I'm going the right way on the right road. Partners, I know where I'm going. The Lord told me to believe for a million partners so I could add a billion people to the telecast. I'm already preaching over 2.5 billion. He said, "You'll add another billion." "I will." "How do you know that?" "I'm omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent." "How long is it gonna take?" "That makes no difference." That much. It has nothing to do with it. Ain't got anything to it. If I need 100 million, I'm gonna get it. If I need 100 dollars, I'm gonna get it. If I need 10 cents, I'm gonna get it. If I need 10 billion, and I'm believing God for six billion dollars so I can get my satellite networks working. That's impossible. Yeah, yeah. But you see, He knows all things. He's governing all things. And He's close to all things. So I don't struggle in those areas of my life. Can I say something? I ain't running out of money. Kathy preached a sermon that I love. She said, "It's her job to bankrupt the devil." But I don't want a person going bankrupting the devil around in my house. But what is bankruptcy? It means when you ain't got no money. No. I've seen people with a lot of money that were bankrupt. They were bankrupt in their spirit, bankrupt in their mind. But you see, when you understand money like God does, "The blessing of the Lord maketh rich, He addeth no sorrow." I have no sorrow in my life with the things that I own. I'm not sorrowful about. So I'm proud of it. And I don't mind people knowing about it. Not show off. Ain't got anything to do with showing off. One of my spiritual sons wanted to take me to dinner yesterday. Blessing of the Lord. Steve Allen, you might know Steve. He has a church up in the, uh, he said, "He said, 'Hey, Dad, Happy Father's Day.'" I'm a spiritual father. Why is it? I said, "Well, you know, let me bless you." "Oh, no, no, no. I want to bless you." I said, "Oh, yeah." And we were all holding back, trying to watch our weight. On Pine, ice cream came in. Oh. So Steve said, "Well..." I said, "Well, just give us one piece of pine ice cream and give us four spoons." Kathy looked at me because I'm gonna take a bite and that's about it. But Steve said, "Oh, we're gonna need more than that. Get us another order too." Glory to God. And we just went into that. And it was nice. Went to my favorite restaurant. And we enjoyed it. And he, oh, he was, he, I never forget. He went up to the to the waiter. He said, "No, this is my spirit's for. I, I want the bill." He said, "Excuse me, sir. You don't miss the Duplantis turf?" Is that what he said? "This is Jesse's turf." Why? How does he know? "That's my turn. I take care of him." I won't go to that restaurant without that waiter. We call him. And I'll give him a plug. Is Stephen there? "No, he's not working today." "We ain't going." "I ain't going." We don't go. But I'll call him. I said, "Kathy, call Stephen there." "Yeah, reserve me a table." Steve said, "Because I won't tell you, he's gonna make this dining experience a pleasure." And he never tells Kathy, "No." And he never tells me, "No." I'll say, "Is there any way we could do something different?" "What do you want, Mr. Price?" "What can we do?" And Steve, and and Steve's kind of like me. He'll just take what. But Kathy likes to change things up. And so does Marilyn. Marilyn said, "Can I do that?" He said, "Yes, ma'am. You can do that." Now, I've been there before. And I tried saying, "Oh, but we don't do that." Yeah, you know, but another way to, oh, you know, I'm gonna write that. How I'm gonna get it out of the computer. Stephen, don't even worry about that. We took everything. I'll become Christmas. It gets blessed. Oh, I'll make sure I come here. Stephen, hold on. Oh, yeah. There's certain places know me. When I walk in, they already have my drink prepared. They see me coming. Getting out the car. Okay, Mr. Duplantis, Mr. Duplantis, come. I sit down. That makes you feel good. You know, it makes your eating experience a nice. We sit there. I, Kathy likes that because she loves to be served. I was in one of my good restaurants one time, and they were so busy, and that man's my friend. I got up and started cleaning tables. Thank you. People freaked out. I said, "What do you need? What do you need? What do you need?" "I want some more iced tea." "Why?" "I said, 'Can you ask what the dishes put it on?'" I said, "Man, you want to buy." I said, "You got to, you got to strike one's hot." There are a lot of people, they want to eat and they're hungry, and you need some help. You have a couple of people shot. So, Kenny, I just did it. He could, "Oh, no, you can't do it. You shouldn't be doing." Well, why not? Why can't I be a blessing if I want to be a blessing? See, I don't look down on a person who cleans tables. I am glad that somebody wants to work. You see. Ah, you said, "I got some friends of mine, they wouldn't walk at a McDonald's to save their soul." I'm going to know McDonald's. It was Wendy's. Okay. Y'all go over and eat that greasy spoon over there. Y'all gonna die. I'm on a McDonald's. They may serve you a pretty good breakfast. And y'all gonna pay 14, and I'm gonna pay three. [Music] And come to find out, but we had a better breakfast. Nothing. Not that I can't afford it. I can do that. That's not. I ain't trying to impress nobody. Why? I'm stable. One lady, y'all heard me say one time, I went to Popeyes. She said, "You eat Popeyes?" I said, "Suck the meat right off the bones." Yeah, I like Popeyes. I like it. It's greasy. Last night, I shouldn't have did it. Oh, I was so blessed. Thursday night, uh, that I flew it. I flew to New Iberia. Now, you know how fast that is. Now.

Walked into the airport. Officer. And there was crawfish etouffee, crab meat, or gratin, boudin. Hog cracking. The kind that stops your heart when you eat them. They're just so good. Now, I've been, I have flown all over the world, but I ain't never run into crawfish etouffee. But this is Acadiana Parish. I call it my Capernaum. I walk and I went, "What is that wonderful set?" "Oh, Miss Shy, let me show you. You want some?" "Oh, yeah." "You want some hard crack?" "Oh, yeah." It's the only thing you lose on a hog is the squeal. That's it. You eat his skin, everything, lips, feet, and all of it. Just go. Boy, I mean, that poor animal ain't got a chance around occasion. I got there. I wasn't worried about my offering. I could care less. I said, "Oh, Lord, let somebody bless me with some good boudin from the best stop." Geez, geez, man. We will pass the pickers up. We'll walk, walk into his office. I said, "Man, it's an honor to be here." Pastor Drew, Pastor Drew Russo's is his name. Called Faith Cathedral. Said in the library. And he goes, "My, what's this?" I just said, "This is yours." I looked. I went, "Oh, yeah." I picked it up. And it was hot. People gave me hot boudin in the back. I gotta go preach. I don't want to preach no more. I tell them, "Put on a video. Let's eat this boudin. Forget I was preaching it." So I went, "Simon," said in the cath, "I'm gonna hear Catherine." She goes, "Oh, it's hot." Which means she just backslid herself. She said, "Where the paper towels, man?" I've preached, and I was preaching. I had that boudin on my mind. Nothing. I'm free. Well, we got home that night. Lord, I said, "I got to try a piece of that." Man, Dave, it was wonderful. And then last night, Kathy said, "She'd like to eat some of that boudin." "Said, Kathy, that's late." She wanted them hog crackers. Yeah. About 12 o'clock last night. Oh, Jesus. Gotta do like the old people. Gotta go drink a glass of milk. Oh, but it was so good. Even the burps were good. Oh, God. Look how fast the David going. You got any more left? Yeah, it's from last week. I had some last week. Lord Jesus. No, we don't eat it every day. We would like to, but we don't. We know it's not that help. But just, it's just so good. Just. Are y'all hungry? Yeah. What? Stand to your feet. Let's get out of here. I'm finished. Give Jesus a hand clap. [Applause]
