At the beginning of the story, we see a girl named Tess stopping her car in front of a very desolate house. Actually, Tess had come to this city for work and had booked this house online from a rental service to stay here. Tess comes to the door of this house with her luggage and tries to open the door using the password from the website from which she rented the house. But even after entering the password, the door does not open. It was as if someone had locked the door from the inside. Seeing this, Tess becomes very distressed. It was quite late at night, and it was also raining heavily. So, Tess gets back into her car. Now, Tess was about to complain to the online rental service company when suddenly the lights of the house turn on. Seeing this, Tess was surprised and she goes back to the door of the house and rings the doorbell. After some time, a stranger opened the door and asked her what she was doing there so late at night. Hearing this, Tess says to him, "Forget about me, tell me what you are doing here? Because this house is mine, and I rented it from an online rental service." The man was also surprised. He said, "But I also booked this house from a website." To prove his point, the man showed Tess the booking details of this house on his mobile. After seeing all this, Tess says to the man, "Okay, this house is yours," and Tess starts to leave dejectedly. But then the man stops Tess and says that it is late at night and it is raining heavily outside. So, you stay here tonight and leave in the morning. Tess also finds the man's words reasonable and decides to spend the night here. But Tess sensed something was wrong with the man being so nice. Therefore, when the man goes to the washroom, Tess sees his wallet on the table. After that, she quickly takes out the man's ID card and sees it, and from his ID card, we learn that the man's name is Tom. Tess takes a photo of the man's ID card here. She does this so that if the man does something wrong to her, she will have some proof. After some time, Tom comes out of the washroom and says to Tess, "I know you don't trust me. After some time, Tess's eyes open to a strange sound. Waking up from sleep, she sees that the door to her room is open, even though she had locked it properly. Tess starts hearing strange noises from outside. After this, Tess nervously comes out of the room, and we see that the basement door has closed by itself. Tess slowly goes to Tom and sees that Tom is sleeping on the sofa, tossing and turning as if he is having a bad dream. Tess wakes Tom up and asks him if he opened her room door, to which Tom replies, "No, I was fast asleep." Hearing this, Tess returns to her room and this time locks the door properly and sleeps. The next morning when Tess woke up, she saw that Tom was not at home. But he had left a message for Tess on paper saying, "I am going out for some work. I will be back by evening." After this, Tess also gets ready and leaves the house for the interview. Tess is shocked by the sight outside because the entire area was desolate. All the houses were dilapidated. It looked like no one else lived here besides Tess. Seeing all this, Tess finds it very strange. But at this time, she is getting late for the interview, so Tess doesn't think much about it and leaves and reaches the company where her interview goes quite well. The director is very impressed with Tess. After the interview is completed, the director asks Tess where she is staying in this city. Tess tells her that she is staying in a house in the Barbary Street area. Hearing the name Barbary Street, the director is shocked and says to Tess nervously, "That place is not good at all. You should leave that place quickly." Saying this, the director leaves, and when Tess returns home, Tess also starts to feel scared of that place. As Tess is about to open the lock of the door and enter the house, she sees a stranger running towards her rapidly. Thinking this, Tess goes into the basement, and in the basement, she finds a box of toilet paper placed in front of her. Now, as Tess is returning with the toilet paper, the basement door suddenly closes. Tess tries to open the door with all her might, but the door does not open. Now Tess becomes very dejected because she had left her phone upstairs. Tess understands that sitting here, no one will help her, so she will have to do something herself. Now Tess starts looking for a way out of here, and then her gaze falls on a window for light in the basement. She tries to open this window. But that window can only be opened from the outside. Now Tess starts looking for a tool to break the glass of this window. While looking for a tool, Tess sees a rope coming from inside the wall. Tess pulls the rope without thinking, and pulling the rope opens the door to a secret room. Now when Tess looks inside this room, she sees nothing inside because it is pitch dark inside this room. Tess now wants to know what is inside this room, but she cannot go inside due to fear. Then an idea strikes Tess's mind. She reflects the light from the basement light into the dark room using a large mirror, where Tess sees a passage inside. Now, fearfully, she starts moving forward in the passage inside this room, and there she sees another room. Upon opening the door of this room, she finds a dirty bed and an old video camera inside. Looking at this room, it seemed as if someone's video was shot here. Then Tess's gaze falls on the opposite wall, where there is a handprint stained with blood. Seeing this, Tess gets very scared and runs away from there and directly reaches the window that provides light to the basement. Where she sees Tom outside the house. As soon as she sees Tom, Tess starts shouting and calling him. Luckily, Tom sees her and comes to Tess, where he sees that Tess is trapped inside the basement. Now Tom quickly goes inside the house, opens the basement door, and gets Tess out of there. Now Tess is very scared and is packing her belongings to leave the house. But Tom stops her from leaving and asks what happened. Then Tess tells him about the secret room, the bed, and the camera in the basement and says that this place is not good at all. We need to leave this place quickly. But seeing Tess so scared, Tom is not believing her words. He says to Tess, "I will go down to the basement myself and see everything there. If there is really any danger, we will leave from here right now. Until then, you wait for me here, because if both of us go there and the basement door closes again, we will be trapped there forever." Saying this, he goes straight towards the basement. Tess tries to stop him a lot, but he ignores Tess and goes into the basement. Now Tess starts waiting for him. But after a long time, when he does not return, Tess goes near the basement and starts calling out to Tom. But there is no response from Tom from the basement. Now, reluctantly, Tess decides to gather her courage and go into the basement once again. But before going this time, she places a chair in front of the basement door so that the door does not lock from the inside again. Now Tess turns on her mobile's torch and slowly moves forward, looking for Tom. But she doesn't see Tom anywhere. She even reaches the room where the bed and camera were kept, but Tom is not there either. Now Tess becomes worried about where Tom suddenly disappeared. She moves further looking for him. After going some distance, she sees some stairs going down, and then Tess hears Tom's voice from below, calling for help. Due to fear, Tess doesn't want to go inside, but due to Tom's repeated calls, she is forced to go there. After crossing the stairs, there was another basement built below, meaning another basement inside the basement. Now Tess moves forward calling Tom, when suddenly Tom crawls on the ground like an animal and comes towards Tess rapidly. He was very scared of something. He tells Tess, "Don't make any noise at all. Besides us, there is someone else here who wants to kill me, and that thing has bitten me." Now, as these people are about to leave from here, suddenly a tall woman runs and catches Tom, and she brutally kills him by banging his head against the front wall. Now the scene shifts, and we are shown a scene from two weeks later, where we see the owner of this house, whose name is AJ. AJ is a TV actor by profession. But now his life is not going well at all because the girl who worked with him in a film accused AJ of wrongdoing, due to which AJ's career was ruined, and to prove himself innocent, AJ lost all his money by going to court. Now, only this one house on Barbary Street was left with him, and now he wants to sell this house too. Upon reaching the house, he sees that someone's belongings are lying in the house. Actually, these were Tess and Tom's belongings, and he also saw Tess's car outside, which made AJ suspect that someone was secretly living in his house. So now he starts searching the house. But he doesn't find anyone in the house. But then his gaze falls on the basement door, where a chair was placed, and this chair was placed by Tess so that the basement door would not lock from the inside. And seeing all this, AJ becomes convinced that someone is hiding in the basement. When he comes near the basement door, he hears the sound of someone walking from below. Seeing this, he takes a torch and a knife with him and goes inside the basement so that if he feels any danger, he can attack them with the knife. As soon as he enters the basement, he also sees the secret room where the camera and a bed were. He starts exploring his house's basement further, where he also reaches those stairs, and seeing all this, AJ, instead of being scared, becomes happy because he thought that with so much space in his house's basement, its value would double. He immediately takes a measuring tape and starts measuring the basement, and while measuring, he reaches a room where a show was playing on TV, showing how a mother breastfeeds her child. AJ was watching all this when suddenly someone pulls the measuring tape from his hand. Seeing this, AJ panics, and he shines the torch in the direction from which the measuring tape was pulled. But there was no one there. Then he hears a growling sound from the front, and after some time, the same tall, strange-looking lady starts moving towards him, seeing which he starts running away in fear, and while running, he suddenly falls into a pit. As soon as he falls into the pit, the woman closes the net from above, trapping AJ there. AJ doesn't understand what is happening, and then a girl comes in front of him. This girl is none other than Tess, who has been trapped in that pit for the last two weeks. AJ is very scared. Then Tess calms him down and says, "Don't make any noise at all, or that lady will get angry. If you want to stay alive, you have to do as the lady says. Otherwise, she will kill you." After some time, the same lady comes there and offers a bottle of milk towards Tess from above. Tess, without thinking, starts drinking milk from the bottle like a small child. After this, the lady offers the milk bottle to AJ. But AJ refuses to drink milk. Tess explains to him, "Don't do this and drink the milk quietly." She takes AJ to the same room where the program was playing on TV, showing how a mother breastfeeds her child. The lady also forcefully breastfeeds AJ in the same way. On the other hand, when the lady was dragging AJ here, she did not close the door of the pit, and taking advantage of this opportunity, Tess gets out of the pit and starts running away from there. But then, by mistake, her foot hits the measuring tape, the sound of which the lady hears, and she understands that Tess is trying to escape from here. Now the lady leaves AJ here and starts chasing Tess. Tess runs quickly and reaches the basement door. But the basement door has been locked. Tess tries to open the door with all her might. But when the door does not open, she runs and breaks the glass of the basement window and tries to escape from there. During this time, the lady has come very close to Tess. But before the lady could catch Tess, a man from outside comes and pulls Tess out. If that man had been a second late, Tess would have lost her life because the lady reached there as soon as Tess got out. Now, the man who saved Tess's life was none other than the man who was stopping Tess from entering the house in the beginning. Now Tess explains to the man that a very terrifying lady lives in this house. But the man already knew about that lady. Now the man says to Tess, "Leave this city as soon as possible. Otherwise, that lady will find you and keep you with her for the rest of your life." But Tess tells him that another man is trapped inside who needs my help. Then the man says to Tess, "Thank God you are safe. If you ask me, you should leave from here as soon as possible because when night falls, that lady will come out looking for you. If you stay around this area, that lady will catch you somehow and keep you captive forever." After this, the man says to Tess, "My job was to explain to you. Whether you save yourself or not is your choice." Now Tess wanted to leave from there, but Tess had a good heart. So she could not leave AJ alone with that lady. After this, Tess sets out in search of help. On the other hand, AJ also tries to escape from that place at an opportune moment. But then he hears the growling sound of that woman, hearing which AJ gets very scared, and now he starts going inside the tunnel to hide from that lady. Then the lady is also chasing AJ. AJ moves forward and reaches a place where the path ends. Now AJ is badly trapped, and the woman is standing right in front of him. AJ feels that his death is certain now. But then, for some reason, the lady becomes afraid to come forward and leaves AJ there and quietly walks away. Who knows what it was that the lady was also afraid of. When AJ looks back, he sees a door behind him. Now he goes inside that room to see what is in this room that the lady is also afraid to come here. The room was in a very bad condition, with all the belongings scattered here and there. The TV was also on in this room. As AJ was searching the room, he suddenly hears a voice from behind. Out of fear, AJ turns back and shines the torch light, and there an old man is lying on the bed, looking very ill, unable to get up or speak properly. But the next moment, the old man shoots himself. On the other hand, Tess reaches outside the house with police officers. Tess explains everything to them about what is happening in this house. But the police do not believe Tess because, looking at Tess's old clothes and her condition, they think that Tess has taken some drugs. So the police ignore Tess and leave. Seeing this, Tess becomes even more distressed. Now Tess understands that she will have to do something herself. It was getting dark soon, so Tess, acting wisely, gets into her car because she knew that the lady would come out looking for her, and it happens. As soon as it gets dark, the lady comes out of the house looking for Tess. Now, before the lady could see Tess in the car, Tess immediately starts the car and hits the lady at full speed, pinning her against the front wall, so that the lady could neither go back nor forward, she remained stuck there, and after a short while, the lady faints. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Tess quickly goes into the basement to save AJ and starts looking for AJ. Meanwhile, AJ also picks up the gun with which the old man shot himself and tries to get out. Due to the darkness, AJ could not see anything, and then he sees someone coming towards him from the front. Out of fear, he shoots him. When AJ reaches him, he sees that it was Tess. Luckily, the bullet grazed Tess's stomach, so her life was saved. Now AJ brings Tess out of the house, supporting her. As soon as they come out, Tess sees that the lady whom she had hit with the car and pinned against the wall a little while ago has disappeared from there. Due to the collision, Tess's car was also damaged, so they could not escape by car. Now they start running away from there on foot. After going some distance, they meet that stranger, who signals them to come to him quietly, and the man takes them to a tank. The man says that the lady cannot come to this place. Then AJ asks the man who that lady is and what she is doing in his house. Then the man tells them that the lady has been living in this house for the last 40 years, and this house belongs to her dad. Then AJ says, "How can this be? This house is mine." To which the man replies, "According to the papers, this house is yours. You must have bought it a few years ago. But the first owner of this house was a man named Frank, and that lady is Frank's daughter. Frank was a very cruel person who used to catch other women, bring them to the basement of this house, tie them up, and then commit wrongdoings with them and have children. After hearing all this, AJ understands that the old man who shot himself in the tunnel was Frank. While they were talking, the lady breaks through the wall from behind and comes to them and grabs the man by the neck and then brutally kills him. Out of fear, AJ leaves Tess in that injured condition and runs away from there. Tess also starts running behind AJ in an injured condition. Tess keeps calling AJ for help. But AJ ignores Tess and quickly runs and climbs onto the water tank. Tess also somehow stumbles and reaches the top of the tank. Both of them see that the lady is also coming after them. Now AJ takes out his gun to kill the lady. But then the gun slips from his hand and falls down. After a short while, the woman also climbs onto the tank. Now AJ understands that this lady considers me and Tess her children, and now she will catch us and keep us captive with her forever. AJ could not spend his entire life in that dark basement, so AJ takes advantage of the lady's maternal instinct, grabs Tess, and throws her down from the tank. The lady considered Tess her daughter, so she jumps after Tess to save her. AJ looks down and sees that the lady takes her in her lap without caring for her own life to save Tess so that Tess does not get hurt while falling down, because if Tess fell straight down, she could die. After this, AJ comes down and sees that both are lying covered in blood and are not moving at all. AJ thinks that both are dead. But then Tess regains consciousness. Tess sees that the lady saved her life by sacrificing her own. After this, AJ supports Tess and lifts her up, and starts justifying himself by saying that if I hadn't done this, we both would have died. But now Tess understands that no matter how much AJ tries to be good, he can leave someone else to die to save his own life. Then the lady also gets up from behind and grabs AJ and chokes him. She is very angry because AJ threw her daughter down. After this, the lady first gouges out AJ's eyes and then splits his head into two pieces. After this, she looks at Tess with sad eyes like a mother and starts loving Tess. But Tess is still scared of the lady, so the lady also understands that I cannot live among humans in this world. Humans are afraid of my scary face and terrifying appearance, so humans will never accept me. So she gestures to Tess to kill her. Now Tess doesn't want to kill her, but the woman wants her life to end. So Tess shoots her, freeing her from that terrible life, and with this, the story ends.
