The Ambisonite civilization is built around strong macro, a scaling economy, and of course, good defense, rewarding players who can plan ahead and execute cleanly. In this guide, I'm going to break down the two most reliable opposite openings in the current meta, both centered around a two town center setup.

The first one is going to be the classic economic wing into two town center, which is a not so greedy approach, but can certainly be greedy uh by maximizing your villager uh production and giving you good tools to do farm transition, etc. This is the stock standard play style of the Abviset.

The second build I'm going to be showing you is a military wing into two town center, of which I will also be showing you how it's played out at the highest level in the recent tournament. We'll focus on why you should choose each one as well and how to execute each of the openers after the build order is done as well. And uh yeah, then of course you can find the build orders in the description of this video.

So the first build we're going to take a look at is going to be your standard 2TC build. What you're going to start by doing here is you're going to send six villagers over to the berries. The six villagers will be uh gathering food pretty much until you have your second TC bar one villager. That one villager will build every single piece of infrastructure. Um so that's your house of wisdom, your mill, your house, not the mining camp. The next two villagers out of your TC will build those or build that I should say. In the meantime, you send your scout aggressively. Build the mill with two villagers because then these guys will gather berries and drop off immediately. Very nice. And then have your next two villagers go over to the gold. Now I'm going to set this one villager here to also build a house and the house of wisdom.

>> Um yeah, so when you are playing as Abvis to town center, what's really important to think about is where do I want to put my TC? A lot of the times you're just going to put it on the wood line because the wood line is easily defendable and Abiset doesn't really need anything besides that. like they just want wood cuz then they can survive anything. Um they're they're they're kind of, you know, uh insane like that. A lot of the times you'll find that if you can get a secondary resource, like for example, this gold here, that's really nice, too. But most of the time, you're just going to find that putting it on the wood line is all you need. There are other builds as well that you can go for like military wing intoc. those build orders don't have the preservation the fertile crescent which is a unique uh upgrade from the ecoing that gives you a reduced cost on buildings making your farms uh cheaper and because you don't have that you also have to play a prolonged feudal age a lot of the times with military wing 2DC and um that's just not as you know as easy to play for most players although it definitely has its play uh and its place um it is the harder of the two styles to play since you are playing more risky with your second town center instead of just putting it safe in your base. So, you can learn that if you want to. There are some old guides in my YouTube channel that are still very much relevant for doing that. It's not too different. Um, but the mentality when you play is a lot different.

Okay, so now I've just been rallying onto food and I'm just going to uh wait till I have 3900 out of 4k and once I have that then I know I can h up and I'm going to try to time it here with these villagers as well. Uh, pretty much just going to pull from gold here now. And I'm going to of course keep these two guys here on gold. So there we go. We click up with ecoing at 213. If you can get that timing 215ish, then you are golden. Then you take your five bills here and you send them over to wood. And you start rallying four villages over to gold.

>> Pretty simple. You just want five on wood here because they're going to gather 50 wood at a time, which is a nice number when it comes to building uh drop off points and houses. And uh yeah, you're just going to gather all the straggler trees. And then uh you don't want to have deleted any of the straggler trees. If you've deleted any of your straggler trees, you need to make a lumber camp on your woodline. And there should never be a game where you delete your straggler trees. So if you are sucking at uh not deleting uh sorry, if you suck at I guess what I'm trying to say is don't delete the straggler trees. That's all. Whether you suck at deleting them or if you're really good at it or not.

>> [laughter] >> All right, build your mining camp now that you got your first 50 uh wood drop off and then uh [clears throat] continue to gather sheep.

>> Get four villagers on stone and then rally back to wood. You're also going to gather 150 gold from your gold vein. You're just going to do that with two bills and then you're going to get two upgrades. Two upgrades are fresh food stuffs and fertile crescent. The first upgrade you should get is fertile crescent. You don't want to get fresh food stuffs first because then you don't get the reduction on the TC cost. So when you age up to fetal age, the second you're up, you click this upgrade. So just spam click that upgrade like you would spam click a knight out of uh out of school of cavalry, for example. Good. So now four villagers and stone. Then I'm going to rally back to the straggler tree and just rally to this one. That's that's the easiest one to do. These guys here should go here uh because it's closer. Uh they will get more food that way, less idle time walking. So, always try to gather the clothes berries first. Now, you want to build a house. And you want to build that with a I would say goldville or Stoneville. Doesn't really matter which one you pick. Um, probably Goldville is best. And, uh, yeah, then you just get ready to click. You see the bars filling up. Four minutes as your benchmark, and you click fertile crescent immediately. So, [clears throat] now you have a few numbers that you want to uh, run. 955 out of 1,200 stone is what you need to get a second town center in stone. And then you need of course uh I think it's 280 uh wood to build your uh second TC. Um but we'll double check the wood in a second. Basically just gather all three straggler trees and you know you'll have enough. So now 990. We can also queue up fresh food stuffs. Very nice. And now we kind of just want to place our second TC. If I'm up against somebody who's playing 2DC as well, like in this case KT, then we'll place [clears throat] my first TC maybe on stone. And my second TC or sorry, my second TC I'll place on stone and my third TC I'll place on deer or just play 2TC into castle age and then take relics and then add a sec a third town center. Sorry. Um you want to outboom players who are also playing 2DC against you because your save is better at that. But a lot of the times people will go 3TC in feudal and then they kind of don't get any relics and that makes the late game a lot harder. Um so what I do recommend is going 2DC into fast castle pretty much every time. The difference between playing against somebody who's in uh feudal age going towns is with you and somebody who's going to go fast castle or greed sorry aggression is uh if they fast castle you should full wall your base and go castle yourself and if they go full aggression into you trying to take out your second TC and deny your resources then you go full units and feudal age so it's very simple feudal age units answer with units yourself and defend if you survive you win because your second TC starts paying off quite quickly and you will start to secure resources. If they go second TC, you go 2dc fast castle into 3TC. And if they go fast castle, then you full wall your base after the second town center and you should be up as fast as possible, not doing any other uh Uh just gathering for the third age.

So now I'm going to pull these here and we're going to be able to build our third town center. Second town center. I don't know why I'm getting the numbers wrong. Second town center now going up. I'm going to build it with pretty much every villager here. And all of these villagers afterwards, they will go to wood if I need to defend. Of course, if the if I want to go castle age after, they will all just go to food and gold maybe on the deer here. And um >> yeah, that's that's it. That's that's the build order in a nutshell. There's not really a lot more to it other than now I'm just going to macro heavy onto wood, build buildings, and then just defend. Um it's it's as straightforward as that. So now que villagers have your TC up around that time here.

>> G your opponent. Is he going units? Is he not going units? Is he going castle lage? Is he not going castage? The markers you're looking for there is okay. He's on gold. He has tower on gold. This guy is just going to go castle. He's not building any buildings. Okay, cool. Then I would just start walling the sides here. Get the deer and then just put as many builds on on on gold and deer as possible. Get the other sides here walled as well. And uh in the case of they start to do aggression, maybe they are starting with some cavalry, right? So you start with some spears, then you pretty much just want to get into playing um spear archer in most situations unless you have a lot of food like this. Then you can also go for other comps like spear horsemen. Although I do recommend you to not do that because it's a lot easier to produce a lot of ashers than to produce a lot of food heavy units when you are in 2TC with limited access to deer for example. But if you only have access to the berries and the sheep, [laughter] then it's a lot more doable to do a second town center and uh then go into spear archer. So that's something you can do here. Then defend, boom up, and then eventually you'll be golden with more economy. So yeah, this is a build order that's pretty strong. We saw it a lot in the previous tournament about six times or something and I think it only lost once or twice and it was mostly two town center that was played there and uh even the very best players in the world are picking the civilization not as an S tier civ but as a B tier probably and maybe it's an A tier s I don't know it's interesting and uh yeah it did really well one of the highest win rates in the whole tournament. So yeah, I'm just going to make units now and uh play out this game in my head cuz we're going to jump to the next build.

All right, so the next build we're going to be taking a look at is going to be a military wing stable two town center build. And that is a really powerful build because it allows you to immediately counter whatever your opponent's opening with. They're opening stable units, you have spears. If they open racks, then you have archers. If they open with archers, then you have stable. Uh that can make horsemen. And so it's a really good build to deal with civilizations that want to play heavy feudal for a long time like Delhi. And so what you want to do is you want to send your first six villagers over to the berries and have these villages uh build you know your house of wisdom. Build a house and then you want to rally uh one more here to the sheep. We want to just have these six villagers on the barriers. We don't want to send the seventh over there because he's going to be leaving afterwards anyways. So just send villagers over here to the middle.

>> Get this one. Put these guys over here. Then rally three villagers to the gold. So that's really uh the the opener here. It's a 73 split. The 73 split and then going on to gold afterwards with those three gold villages. So now on the gold. Then we're not going to build that value camp here. Although it would be very nice if you did in your own games. So if you have a stone and gold that's very close like this with two tiles in between or one tile and you can still touch it with the mining camps, do go ahead and build a mining camp in between them. Um that can give you some really nice value early on. You save 50 wood and that can give you some better timings. Um but for the sake of this video, I'm not going to be going for that. So build your house of wisdom always towards the back. If you build it towards the front, people who go feudal all in can just ram down your house of wisdom and then you can't h up. I have definitely lost a few episode games where somebody went ram pushing me on my house of wisdom and I would have been to castle h if I had put it in the back. So be careful with that. Now just rally food until you can h up and then you're going to do a uh six on food split, three on stone after you get the 75 gold for fresh food stuffs and then rest on wood. Then you're going to get a fast golden age with a stable and uh yeah, very very very um straightforward. You just want that stable into second TC.

So a very calm early game here. You're just going to rally onto sheep and then we're just looking for that 3900 out of 4k gold. Then we're going to do a drop off with our golds and then click W for military wing.

>> Now we have the gold we need. We can do a drop off here, a drop off here, and then H up. These guys here go onto straggler trees, and gather all the straggler trees before they do anything else. We're going to do another drop off here. There we are. And now we just gather down to 3825. It could be nice to also gather an additional 35 gold. If you plan on also making spearman, as if you were playing against French or JD, then it's fine to gather another 35 gold. But if you're not playing against a night civ, you can wait a little bit. It's okay.

>> So now go down to 3825 like that and go and build your uh second mining camp and just build that with two villagers and have the third one gather stone. Continue to rally more builds to the wood line here. These guys sit on that too. And then basically what we want to do now is get a house so we can have our military wing units pop out of the house of wisdom. If you don't have a house uh to go 30 pop, then they won't come out and that sucks.

>> And then afterwards, you want to build a stable and then you build two houses and one lump.

>> So the house is coming up now and we want to connect all of our buildings together. Of course, right now, nothing is really connected. And we're going to do that with our stable and another house and lumber camp over here.

>> Sheep. All right. So, you can see we're starting to stack some food. We're going to use that food on, of course, our fresh food stuff upgrade. And then on horsemen. We want to make like maybe like two or three horsemen uh before our second CC. So, these three stone villagers, they've been gathering stone, and they're going to be gathering stone for a long time, actually.

>> Now, connect the buildings here. I'm going to build this with two villagers.

>> And then what I can do with these military wing units is I can push my opponent if he is uh a S that's a bit slower like Delhi, or I can just play it safe and then have my uh military wing units safe on the deer. Because what's absolutely crucial with this build is that you get access to as much food as you would on one town center. If you don't, then you're going to be making farms that are costing full cost and and that just sucks. You don't want that.

All right, so now we have horsemen in queue and we're going to make a house. We're going to go here now. We're going to connect the rest. So, we're basically just getting all the buildings now. while we're also getting fresh food stuffs. Scouting our opponent. Horseman comes out. We queue up another horseman. Midweing units are on guard duty. Keep the villager production up and then get the last house. So, we need three houses. I misspoke. It's not two. Oh, wait. It's because the mining camp is not in. Okay. Yeah. So you would have had the mining camp in your uh influence then you wouldn't need that third house. So it is actually only two houses. It's actually only two houses here. Now just rally wood. You still have those three on on on wood there. Three on stone. I mean and then the rest of wood. So yeah, with this mining cam, we would have had it in the influence area of the house of wisdom and then we would have gotten golden age just a little bit quicker. But yeah, as long as you get it like before 6 minutes, you're usually chilling.

>> So now these six villagers over here, we can continue to make horsemen if you want to. Um, but we also want to bank a little bit of food for village production. So I'm going to make a third horseman. I'm going to look at my stone. I want to go down to 850 out of,200 because we don't have the reduced cost on our TC. And then I'm going to pull a lot of villagers here. almost everyone from wood and then I'm going to build my second TC at about 6:15. So, you've lost a couple of builds by doing it this way. How? That's because you don't have a faster timing on your uh PC. And so, because you're a little bit slower on the TC timing than you would be with ecoing or something, you also need to do some pressure and uh find value in another way. So, uh, if you were going to use this build and just sit in your base and boom up, then it's the wrong use.

>> You want to be proactive in this game.

>> That's the whole point of securing food like this and having units out.

>> So, use it in matchups that are likely to be very feudal heavy like uh, versus Delhi.

>> Yeah, that is pretty much the opener. Now, we're set up. This is a more complicated build order than the previous one for sure,

>> but um >> but it's definitely still a strong one. I wouldn't recommend using this as much as ecoing. Ecoing is just stock standard good. So um yeah, that's the one I would use for sure. Um in most of my games has a lot of flexibility, whereas this one is very much, you know, you're forced to play a certain way uh which can be a little bit of a problem. So, use this when it's correct.

>> I'm getting a lot of food right now from this deer here. And that's great because I want to make spears and horsemen. But if I wanted to go heavier in archers, then I wouldn't be gathering as much food. So, right now, I'm working on getting some more buildings here. In about 8 minutes, I'm going to get a few more bills over to the gold. I'm going to go for this back gold here. And I'm just going to start securing the map. Maybe wall up a little bit. Not too much though. it can be quite expensive to wall. You want to prioritize getting units out first. Get your units out so you can defend yourself >> and then after that start creating a little bit more upgrades and things like that.

>> Yeah, that is pretty much the build. And um I don't really have much else to say. I think we're going to just quickly take a look at a Puppy Paw game.

Right. So, I just wanted to quickly show you the game from the semifinals of the recent tournament, Agency Masters Finals, and it's probably Paul versus Vortex, who also played grand finals versus each other. I just wanted to show you this game because I think it's the most recent example of a professional game where this build is being used. And I just want to kind of point out how he's playing this out for such an incredibly long time beyond the point where any of the players have farms anymore. So what he's doing is exactly the same thing. We're picking up from the same point as uh the build order ended. This is the time where you have your second TC on your deers and you're just heavy macroing onto wooden food, getting the right units out. So, for example, against Knight's Archer, you want to go spear and horsemen. And so, he needs those deers to be able to fully produce spears and horsemen. If he didn't get those deer, then it would be a lot harder for him to produce such a food heavy composition. And he would eat through all his food super quickly, all the sheep, all the berries, and then he would just simply not be able to make villagers, and maybe just lose control if he didn't already get it.

So, there's some early walls coming through here. I'm just going to speed it up a little bit and then jump a little bit forward to some of the early fights. So, you can see he's making uh horsemen and he's going to be making spears in a moment. And then basically he wants to defend against these early knights. So, uh, yeah, the uh opponent is Vortex and he's going for knights and archers, which is the standard comp that French players go for. And um if you're wondering about what level this is, this is the recent finalists of um 2025. I wouldn't say they're the best players in the world. They're probably like top two and three right now. Maybe they are the best in the world. Maybe they are top one and two. If you go by recent tournaments and you always take the latest one and use that as your reference, you could say that Poppy Paw is the best in the world and Vicki is the second best. But if you look at the record of the whole year, you'll probably still say Marino is the best uh just based off of performance throughout the whole year.

Anyways, about 8 minutes in, he gets the blacksmith and uh the racks in the stable are still making spears and horsemen because it is the counter composition. And then he's going to get ranged armor as you can see here on the left side. And then he's just basically waiting for his opponent to uh attack him. And then spears and horsemen is a really nice composition for defending against somebody who's going to go very aggressive against you. And so uh the spears and the horsemen will be uh the right composition here. He's going to go for a raid here on the reinforcements and the observer is missing some fighting here unfortunately, but there was a little bit of engagement and then he's also raiding the wood line of his opponent. So he's being active in this game. He's not just sitting in his base. And that's a key point, a key takeaway if you're new to playing Abset or maybe you're old to playing Abset. Um, basically, you don't want to just sit in your base. You want to be proactive. Uh, cuz if you aren't, then your opponent is just going to roll you over.

So, here we have the first engagement coming in. He picks off a couple of knights, which is really nice. He also takes out some of the Ashes here, and this already now starts to put him in a very advantageous position. But look, he's not overcommitting just yet. He wants to get the units in from behind. So if you look at the right corner here, you can see that the horseman raids, they're always about to go out and then he pulls them back when needed. So here's an engagement. Look at how he is taking the horsemen and he puts them on top of the enemy units so that the spearman can get close. Somebody who's good at microning will struggle against us because the horsemen are faster than the knights and so they can then uh have a really tough time um trying to get away from the horsemen before they body block you. So if you get body blocked and the spears get close then it's a bit of a problem. The nice thing about playing two town center is when you start to get ahead in villagers you can take some trades that are not as good for you but they will end up being good for you because you have more economy. So, uh, if somebody plays field aggression against you and you're on GTC, just stay alive. Make units stay alive and then you will have a absolutely fine time um before the farm transition comes around, which is sort of the next point here. The puppy paw, he sneaks out, takes his opponent's uh berries, and basically now we're 16 minutes into the game. The fight we saw before was like 10 minutes into the game, so nothing's changed. The numbers are pretty much the same, although there are way more knights and archers. And it doesn't look as good for Poppy Paw here. And uh if we skip forward just a little bit more, we can see now the farms are coming around that 18 minute mark. Uh is usually when people start farming. Um you don't want to run completely dry of food. You want to continue to uh gather food while you're also doing farm transitions because if you run out of food completely, then you just have a full stop on production and your opponent might not have that. And so you you definitely need to farm some position while you're still actively gathering food from berries and sheep. Um yeah, so here he's getting picked off, but yeah, he's lost about 22 bills in this game. It's a very high octane game. You can go watch it. It's from the semi-final. 65 to 49. French definitely also a very good civ because they have a faster villager production on their main TC and just TCs in general. So, uh, they kind of have something, uh, some good tools here for dealing with, uh, Abiset, but yeah, basically Poppy Paw just keeps fighting, then he switches into archers and and goes tri comp because archers aren't as food heavy and, uh, you just want damage, right? They're also nice for sniping the the low health knights. So, uh, Puppy Pop actually ends up taking this game. And that just goes to show you, you know, even when you lose 40 bills, uh, you can still make it. So yeah, he's taking the food down here. His opponent's run run out of food and needs to farm soon. Basically just has the bore left. And if we go forward a little bit here, farm transition comes around. Oh, please. If transition comes around, face opponent a little bit more forward. Here we see he's basically just full spear archer now, which makes a lot of sense for the game state at the moment. It's nice to just go full wood units. And it's uh it's a simple macro as well for spear and archer. Not that that's what he's thinking about, but for you watching this, it is it's 50/50 wooden food. That's it's that simple. Like look at this. He has 34 on food, 27 on on wood. So he has enough on food to make villages out of two town centers, although he did lose his second town center. Um it is definitely pretty simple split and now he's still in 27 on what? 35 on food. Keeps hunting vills and the game is over. So the game state at the end here was actually equal bills but he had 60 army to 10 army and his opponent was just starting the farm transition now. So if you survive beyond that point, that 22 3 minute point where you're sort of done with farm transitioning, even if you lost like 40 bills, you're usually going to be fine.

So yeah, that's uh it for this guide. I hope you guys have enjoyed uh the guide and if you have any questions, leave them in the comment section below.
