What's up, the crew? Baby boo, shoo! Y'all already know what it do, man. It's your boy JV, and I'm back for another video. And today, I'm gonna be teaching all my young YouTubers out here how to get paid off of YouTube if you're under 18.

Now, fortunately, you cannot have a Google AdSense if you're under 18, but I'm gonna show you how to get around it because I'm only 17, and it was hard for me because there was no video showing how to do it. So I had to pretty much figure it out on my own. So, without further ado, let's hop right into the video, okay, man?

First thing first: when you want to get paid on YouTube, you have to meet these requirements, and that's you gotta have 4,000 watch hours and 1,000 subscribers. Once you have met them requirements, YouTube will gonna check your account; they're going to make sure everything all right; you're going to make sure that your account is cool so that they can run ads on your channel. That's what gets you paid. So, once you have the 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours and YouTube checks over your account—this might take two days at the most; it don't take very long—then they're gonna send you an email and be like, "Okay, your channel is ready to be verified."

So here's the tricky part: if you're under 18, this is what you have to do in order to start getting paid for YouTube. Now, like I said, if you're under 18, there's no way you can have an AdSense account; Google won't let you. But you can add your parents' YouTube channel under your YouTube channel, and you can get paid like that.

Now, don't worry: if you add your parents' YouTube channel under yours, the money's not gonna go to your mom or dad. It's just linking their YouTube channel with your YouTube channel, and they don't even have to have any subscribers; they don't have to have any views; they don't even have to have one video. They just need to have a working account that they use.

So when you got your parents' account, what you want to do is you want to go to the Google AdSense page, and you want to copy the link from your YouTube channel and put it in that Google AdSense thing. Then you fill all the information out in your parents' name. This is very, very important: do not put your Gmail; do not put your name; do not put your last name; none of that. You want to put in the box where it says first name, put your mom's first name; in the box where it says last name, you put her last name. And when it where it says what business is she running, you're just gonna put individual/sole proprietor. I think that's what it says, individual; you click that, then it drops you down, and it's going to ask for her EIN number. But if your parents don't have an EIN, you could put their social security number, and that's fine. Don't try to put your social security number because it won't work, especially if you're under 18. Already tried; they're gonna know you're underage from the first three digits of your social, so don't even try. Already did it, and it didn't work.

So what you want to do is put your parents' social, and then all they have to do is put in your address. Once you put in your address and you put in your parents' information, you put in your address and your parents' is going to sign—electronically sign—and submit it. Now, when you send a submit your W-9 tax info information, it's going to take at the most two days. They kept denying me over and over again because I was putting my information; I even put that I was born a year earlier so it could still try to, but it didn't work. You have to put your parents' information, and it'll go through like fast. So once I put that in, I submitted it; it took about a day or two days; they sent me an email saying my account has been verified.

Now, all I had to do was two more steps, and those were the easiest steps. The last two steps: you have to have a bank account or some type of card for them to send the money on. So I already had a bank account; of course, you can have a bank account under 18; you can figure it out with your parents if you want a prepaid card, whatever it is, the card just have to have a routing and account number so that your parents or you can put that information in so it can, you know, I'm saying, YouTube can have a way to be able to send you guys your money. So you have to have a bank account or any type of account; they have a routing number so that YouTube can send you your money.

Once you filled out the banking information—the easiest part—well, hold on. Now, unfortunately for me, this took so long, and I never could understand why this little piece of paper takes forever for them to send it. I don't know why, but I didn't hear other YouTubers say they got it in a week. Me? I had to reapply for this thing like three or four times, and I just got it. So what you want to do is they're going to send you this pin in the mail verifying your address. Inside of this piece of paper, it shows a pin, and this pin you're going to put it into your Google AdSense account; you're going to click submit, and instantly it's going to say you're verified. They just need this pin to make sure that they're sending it to the right house. So you might have to, um, re-have them resend the pin like three or four times, and it takes up the—I don't want to give y'all the wrong time estimate because for me it took a while. I want to say it took a month and three or four weeks if I'm not mistaken, but this little piece of paper to come because I had to re-kept resending it and resending it out, and that was like due to the coronavirus that it might—it was gonna take longer for it to come. But once you get this paper, all you have to do, it's a little pin inside; you submit it, and they're going to verify you.

Once you've done those three steps—submit the W-9 tax info, submit your bank account information, and submit this pin that they sent me—you're verified, man. Congratulations! You have finally started getting paid on YouTube, and I salute you because all our young YouTubers out here, it was hard for me to get started on trying to open up an AdSense account under 18. Y'all don't know how stressful that was. People was making videos on it, but not how to do it when you're under 18. All you have to do is add your parents' information; link their account with yours; that's all you're doing. They're not gonna get paid; they're not gonna get any money. But once you do that, it lets them know that somebody is of age to, um, access the account. So yeah, man, I thank y'all for watching. If this video helped you, make sure you drop a thumbs up, make sure you subscribe, and comment below if you have any other questions because I didn't do a pretty much about everything you can do on this account that you can do wrong, so I know how to do it right. So if you have any questions in the comments below, feel free to ask, and I will surely get back to you the same day. It's your boy JV; in the cool; we out; peace.
