Welcome you to this Holy Ghost service. And when they called me, they said, "We want you to take up an offering." So, I, I thought about how I would do it. So, I went back and read Acts chapter 2. Y'all believe in Acts chapter 2, don't you? So, here's what I need you to do. Get your deed to your house, deed to your land, and bring it all up here. And you say, "Well, I, I don't have a..." Well, we'll, we'll take a postdated check or whatever. But we're going back to Old Time Pentecost giving. Everything too long we've been, in fact, spell the word Pentecost, too long we've been giving pennies. What about that? Cost somebody said amen. Now, we're going to have to march. They said, "We're going to march." Now, I don't know how we're going to do. We got to march over each other, but we're going to pray. And then we're going to give. God, I thank you for this Holy Ghost service, the moving of the spirit, of your mighty power. Bless as we, we give to your kingdom and the work of the Lord. We pray. And everybody said, amen. Come give, bless the Lord.

Why do we trust God? Because He's God. He said, "To whom will you liken me and make me equal? Who will you compare me to that we may be like?" There's no one like Him. He is wonderful. He's the Lily of the Valley. He's the Bright and the Morning Star. He's the Lion, and He is the Lamb. He's our strength and our Redeemer. He's the Everlasting Father. He is our shield and our buckler. He is the Lord, strong and mighty. He is the Lord, mighty in battle. He's the Great I Am. He's not a god. He's not one of many gods. Uh, He is God. That's who you serve tonight. So, why not trust Him? When He's above all, and He can do it all. Hallelujah. Worship with Him as I sing.

And when that quarterback drops back and throws that pigskin and he catches it, they go across the line, they're going to lose their mind. I got a question for some young people at Su. How much more can we give God? How much more? The guy who picked us up, it changed my life. I wish somebody would give some praise in this place. No, you ain't seen nothing. You think I'm singing it. And obviously, there's great talent on this platform, but this was not just rehearsed tonight, but it was anointed. And we're thankful for all of the practice and time and, but most of all, the dedication. Could we give this great music department a hand right now? Thank you so much.

And, um, thank you to all of you that were here, uh, last evening and, uh, to your readiness to receive the word of the Lord. And then, uh, such a great response around the altar last night. And, uh, that's what it's all about. It's hearing from the Lord, but being a great response. And so thankful for what swept into this house last night. We give honor. I think it's very important. Aren't you? Aren't you grateful that Pine Grove Pentecostal Church hosts this great meeting? Amen. And, uh, we're so, uh, grateful. Uh, we owe a great debt of gratitude to Pastor and Sister Copeland and, um, their family and this local church for hosting this meeting. And everything is, as it's already been said, is first class. And, um, just, we're so, so thankful. For me personally, I would like to say that it's, uh, it's a tremendous honor to be back here this year. And, um, I tell, I tell it everywhere I go, um, that this is one of the, I've preached a lot of youth meetings over the years. This is one of the greatest, uh, youth meetings, just all the way across the board, the whole package in America. And, um, as you can tell by looking tonight, that the word is, the word is out. And, um, this is such a wonderful, wonderful meeting. And to all of you that make the trip and the sacrifice to be here, um, we give honor to all of you, uh, leaders and saints and preachers that are here with us tonight. And, um, aren't you thankful for the body of Christ? It's a tremendous, um, blessing to have my family with me. And this meeting is a priority, um, for all of us. It falls perfectly with the kids being out of school. And, um, so it's a wonderful thing to have my, my wife and all three of my children with me. Um, my oldest son, um, now is married. And, um, thankful for my daughter-in-law. And, um, it was actually at this, well, anyways, I'll let them tell their story. I don't want to get any kids distracted right now because we got things to do before, before the after, before the after party. But I love my family, and I give honor to my wife, and, um, the great sacrifice that her and my children, um, pay. They wouldn't, they probably wouldn't say sacrifice. I've never heard any of them complain. Um, last three years, I've preached an average of 25 or 20 times a year. Um, I'm gone from home a lot. And, um, but my family is supportive. And, um, I'm so grateful for my family. Thankful for them. Amen.
I am well aware of the expectations, um, sometimes spoken, mostly unspoken, of a Friday night of any type of conference. Um, but, um, I don't fit well in a box of, or orthodoxy. And, um, I'm going to kind of, not kind of, I'm going to be me regardless of the situation. And, um, the Lord, um, the Lord has laid something on my heart for, for this meeting tonight. And I, I believe for the body of Christ, um, and I, I feel that it's so important. Um, in fact, I feel like it may be one of the most important things that the Lord has ever given me. And I know that's a, that's a, that's a weighty statement. Um, but I, I do feel that way tonight. So without further ado, I'd like to turn our attention to the book of Deuteronomy, and then I'll be going to the book of Exodus. Deuteronomy chapter 15, Brother Copeland, Sister Copeland, you guys are an inspiration. I just hate that all the other leaders that are here tonight couldn't be at the line lunch today. Just, we feasted more than just on physical food. And, I mean that. You're an inspiration. And I know like a lot of times you may feel like you're a lightning rod, but you're an inspiration. And I appreciate you so much and what you mean to the kingdom and the price that you pay for it.
Deuteronomy chapter 15 and verse number 15. "And thou shalt remember that thou was a bondman in the land of Egypt, the Lord thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing today. And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee, then thou shalt take an awl, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever: and also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise. And it shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away from thee: for he hath been worth a double hired servant to thee: and serving the six years a bond servant was worth twice." Did you hear me? A bond servant was worth twice, was worth double the price. "And the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all." Someone say, "All." "That thou doest."
Exodus chapter 21. There's a reason I'm reading both of these. It picks up something a little different in both portions of scripture. "And if thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he were married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master have given him a wife, and she have borne him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. Notice verse five: And if the servant shall plainly say," someone say, "plainly say," "I love my master, my wife and my children; I will not go out free: Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; and he shall also bring him to the door," someone say, "to the door," "or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever: and he shall serve him for ever."
I guess one of the greatest tragedies, the most devastating things to me all the years I've preached the gospel. Well, let me just say it like this. I don't believe that the Lord saves people for them to sputter.

Out, uh, uh, again. I'm, I won't preach what God's given me. Brother, there's, maybe, maybe Brother Copeland would run a close second. I'm just picking that. But I believe revival as much as any, any person in this building. I believe in growth. But you listen to me. I, I'm all about people coming through the front door, but I'm all the time trying to figure out how to keep the back door closed. Because I don't want to lose, if we don't have to, I don't want to lose what God's already given us. Brother Harland, and I don't believe God gives people the Holy Ghost. Come on. For them to just peter out along the way or just a shooting star and no. I believe God gives people the Holy Ghost so they're in the house forever. And I've got kids of my own now, and they're teenagers. And it's a scary thing. You that have been there know what I'm talking about. You that haven't, brace yourself. It's one of the most earth-shattering things that you'll ever deal with. I've done my best. I failed. There's things I wish I could go back and do different. Come on. But my greatest desire is to see my kids in the house of God forever. Forever. They may never be the greatest singer. They may never pastor the largest church. They may never be the, the greatest musician. But if somehow my children can get a hold of this, come on, and remain. God saves so it remains. God redeems so it remains. So why did that happen? Happen? And why did we lose that one? And why did that one slip through our grips? And I guess the most tragic thing when you're talking about this tragedy, the tragedy within the tragedy, is often times it comes from the same family, set on the same pews, in the same worship services, exposed to the same moves of God, heard the same preaching, was in the same revival, went to the same youth summits. One makes it and the other one doesn't. That drives me crazy. I want to preach what the Lord's given me tonight. I'll entitle this: All In.

Would you pray for me? Come on. I'll pray for you if you'll pray for me right now. God, I pray that the gravity of this moment. I pray that the weight of this word. Come on. Would set on this service just as cloven tongues of fire set on those initial recipients. Let Your word, let it set heavy. Let Your glory rest in this house.

If you believe the Lord's going to do it, clap your hands and give Him praise right now. Come on, give Him praise for it right now. Lift your voice and give Him praise for it.

You can be seated. Thank you. Thank you for standing in honor of the word of the Lord. Now, I would just gently admonish you to plug in. I have spent much of the afternoon in prayer and trying to truncate or eliminate any fodder. So I'll quickly tonight get to the very meat of the spiritual matter tonight. I don't know how other preachers in the house feel about this. I would feel that if it was not, if this young man was not at the top of your list, he would be somewhere close to me. One of the greatest tragedies, one of the greatest tragedies in the Bible is Solomon. Solomon, to me, is one of the greatest tragedies in the Bible. I have preached so much over the years from the life of Solomon. I guess I'm recognizing that much of my inspiration, or the way that the Lord speaks to me, is things that I become grieved or concerned with. I went back and, to the best of my ability, tried to check through all of the things over the years that I had preached different things on the life of Solomon, and the number was extremely high. It's, it's a travesty. Um, Solomon, his life and the way it unfolds and the way it ends is such a waste. Such waste. In many ways, Solomon was afforded every opportunity. He was set up in ways that many people would only dream of being set up. If I'm back again, I'm back to a theme that I was on last night. If, if heritage was enough to keep a man hanging in there, Solomon would have hung in there. If having the right parents was enough to stick it out, Solomon would have stuck it out. But he didn't. Didn't make it. And it is one of the tragic, in my estimation, one of the greatest tragic demises in scripture. I think that history often repeats itself because we simply, we learn history, we don't learn from it. And I think that if there is any character, if there is, if there is any person that we all ought to be prayerfully running spiritual autopsies on and trying to learn, there, there's so many. In my estimation, I know we're New Testament people, but I see, I see so many similarities. I'm preaching tonight to young people that have been afforded so many opportunities, that have been given so much. You have been exposed to so many great things at a young age. I'm preaching to a big group here, a great percentage. We seen all of the first generation last night, and that was moving. But there, there's an even larger crowd. There's an even greater volume of those that are here that, in, when, in many ways, your life could parallel the life of Solomon. You have lived with the proverbial silver spoon in your mouth, spiritually speaking. Not just spiritually speaking. Many of you, many of you, because of the blessings of God, because of God's blessings on your mother and father, come on, you, you, you don't really know what it is to be in want or to be in need. It's true. Now, again, I know it's Friday night, but I need some people to help me preach right now. You talk about somebody that was set up. You talk about somebody that was given what looks like all the necessary tools to succeed. Come on. You, you talk about somebody that it was just laid in their lap. Ladies and gentlemen, I think God for everything that's been given to me. I believe in moments of impartation. I thank God for the times that men have laid their hands on my head and things have been imparted in me. But you hear me, come on. If what they put in you was enough to sustain you alone, there's a lot of people we would have never lost. There's some things you got to get by yourself.
Hallelujah. And the, and the weightiness of the matter of teenagers is because while, while I have failed, I've done my best. But I'm starting to realize we're reaching the time now where time will testify whether they've got it in their heart for themselves. I wish, I wish my love for God was enough to sustain the next generation. But you hear me, come on. I can't give it all to you. Your pastor can't give it all to you. Your youth leaders can't give it all to you.

There's got to be an organic desire in the heart of every young man and every young lady to please God. I'm not doing this, come on, so I can be in the choir. I want to please God. I'm not doing this to keep the pastor off of my back. I want to please God. You can be seated. And all the preaching I have preached about Solomon, though the Bible is alive and yet again, it has spoken to me. Not only did David set Solomon up, but God set Solomon up first. 1 Chronicles 22: "Behold, a son will be born to you, who will be a man of peace: listen to this, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side." Don't go to sleep. I'm slowing down. This has got to soak in. "I will give him, I will give him rest from all of his enemies on every side, for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in all his days." Oh boy. I'm fixing to get in trouble right now. There comes this moment where God comes to Solomon in a dream. Now, Brother Garlock's here, probably should have borrowed him to explain this, but I'll do the best I can do in my Oklahoma redneck vernacular. But here it is. God comes to Solomon and a dream says, "Anything you want me, anything you want from me, you ask for it." Now, if that had been some of us, now you got to kind of growl when you say this, but we would have prayed for dominion. Dominion. We'll be hearing from him later. You've been working on your preacher voice, Brother. Dominion. Dominion. I want to hear you say that tonight. I want. Dominion. You, you got to, you got to really drink some kerosene to be able to say it like I'm a dominion. It's a grievous thing when I see Pentecostals beating a drum, figuratively speaking, not always figuratively speaking, but beating a drum and sweating and lathering, screaming and hollering and dancing and shouting around, "We want dominion." We want. God's already given us.

Dominion. Matter of fact, that just popped in my head. Oh, Brother Mark's taking a shot at Brother Holmes. I'm like, hey, beat your drum. I like those guys that's beating their drums. I ain't tired. I wasn't even thinking about Brother Holmes. I'm talking about we get stuck on stuff, and we're spending all our time, all our time praying about things that God's already. Hey, for all of Solomon's faults, when it came time to ask God for something, he exemplifies something that the Apostolic Church ought to pay attention to. He didn't ask for dominion. God help us if we're going to pray, let's use our time wisely. God, did He not say, come on, that He's given us His name? Did He not say that we were going to tread upon on serpents? Come on. That no deadly thing should harm us? That sounds like dominion. I don't have time to explain and preface everything I'm saying here tonight, but I'm telling you, the real devil that we're dealing with is not something with horns on its head and dragging a tail behind him with a red face. The devil that we're dealing with is the flesh that we're looking at in the mirror every morning. And God help us overcome our own selves.

I hope if God gave us an opportunity and said, "Anything you want from me, ask it right now, and I'll give it to you." Dominion. And, and God rolls His eyes and says, "How much longer you going to keep asking me for stuff I've already given you?" You know why we need so much dominion? Because we have a lack of discipline. And the dominion we're asking for, it's the dominion to fix all. It's the dominion to fix all of the junk that we get ourselves into because we don't have any control of this flesh and this tongue.

Jesus called the devil out, but He also told Simon Peter, "Get behind me, Satan." Flesh that is unsubmitted flesh, come on, that gets in the way of the will of God is just as much as the devil.

I'm going somewhere. And so Solomon prayed. Brother Narlock, get ready to tell them. Get you, get your work in your iPad because you're going to have to explain all this when I'm done tonight because what I'm fixing to tell you is true. Ask me. Solomon. And Solomon says, he goes through all this stuff about David and his dad, and you were with David, and you were gracious to David, and you were kind to my father, David. And you, he said, "Lord, would you please give me understanding?" I read that in about 10 or 15 other translations. And one trans, well, not one, there were several translations that actually translate that Solomon prayed for a hearing heart. He didn't pray for dominion. God already gave him dominion. He prayed that God would give him a hearing heart. And there's so much right there. I could put a period there and I could preach that seven ways from Sunday. But hermeneutically and homiletically, it wouldn't be sound because that's not where it starts. You got to transliterate the whole thing. So God says back to him, "You pray for a hearing heart, you ask for understanding." In the next two verses, Brother Holland, you're a masterful teacher, help me here. In the next two verses, God says back to him, in the English translation, is the same word. "You ask for understanding, I'll give you understanding." But here's the problem, Brother Adcock. God, in the original Hebrew, the two times that God uses the word understanding is not the same Hebrew word. It's the Hebrew word where Solomon asked for understanding. Solomon asked for one thing. God said to Solomon, "I'm going to give you something else." And there's so much that's left unexplained. But if you sit with this, I know this is a youth meeting, but put your thinking caps on. If you sit with it, come on, I'm going to explain it to you. If you sit with it, it starts making sense. God is saying, Solomon's asking God, come on, I'm just paraphrasing, "I want you to do it all for me." He asks for a hearing heart, and that's beautiful until you really understand what he's asking for. It's like he wants God to run his life like a remote control. God, when it's time to go left, come on, make sure I go left. When it's time to resist, make sure I resist. When it's time to flee temptation, make sure I flee temptation. And there's a reason that God answers back with a different Hebrew word that's translated understanding because it wouldn't be a relationship if God did everything for us. God says to Mo, God says to Solomon, "I'm going to give you discernment. I'm going to give you the ability to discern right from wrong, but you have to."

Choose. Solomon wanted God to take all the work out of it. But God said, "I put before you life and death. I've given you the ability to discern it, but you're going to have to choose to listen. You're going to have to choose to do right. You're going to have to choose the right."

In other words, you're asking me to give you the ability to listen. That's not a relationship. But I will give you the ability to hear. But just because a man can hear is no guarantee that the man will listen. I can't do it for you, Solomon. When it's time to turn left, I can put the left hand turn there, and I can put the right hand turn there. But you're going to have to hear what the preacher says. You're going to have to hear what my word says. I'll send an intercessor. I'll send, I, I've given you pastors. I've given you the five-fold ministry for the edification and the perfecting of the saints. The issue is.

Not the issue is not, have we heard? The issue is, are we hearing? Have we listened? I will put the things in place. I'll answer that prayer to a degree. I, I'll be with you, but I can't make you listen to me. I'll speak to you, but I can't give you. I'm sorry. Do you hear me? I'm not sorry. I'm going to tell you the truth because the truth's what sets people free. We don't believe in once saved, always saved. We don't believe in.

That. And you hear what I'm telling you. This is not something you master. This is not something you do once and sit down and dust your hands off and say, "I've done the right thing." No. If you don't self-sabotage and self-destruct, it's going to be because you spend your whole life doing hearing, obeying, and listening. I'm concerned we have feet. I'm concerned that we have hands. I'm concerned, service, willingness. And again, I don't want to work against what I feel like I've worked so hard in others the last 10 years. I feel like there's more of a willingness to work and moral willingness to go. We have mouths, and we have hands, and we have feet. But what concerns me, Brother Mike, and Narlock, is we don't have ears. Nathan came back to the palace when Solomon was just a little tyke. When the servant announces the presence of Nathan, it's with trembling hands that Bathsheba opens. She opens her house, and the prophet comes back in. She can't help but remember how this went the first time. Nathan comes in a different spirit this time, though. Nathan comes and he says to Bathsheba, "You shall no longer call the child Solomon." Huh? He gave him another name. How many know what the name was? Somebody, if you know the name. Thank you. Did you know why there's not more people hollering that name out? Because you don't know that name. You know why you know that you don't know that name? Because Solomon was never called that name again. Never again in scripture was Solomon ever referred to as Jedidiah. Do you know what Jedidiah means? Friend of God. And it's bothered me for years. Why in the world? Why in the world, with a name like that, would he never be referred to as Jedidiah again? And the only thing, Brother Holland, and I can come up with is this: Would you keep calling somebody a name that they didn't respond to? Would you continue to call out to somebody by a name that they didn't answer to? Come on. Again, this goes back to the prayer request of Solomon. Solomon didn't get it. You got it right, partially. Come on. You're asking for a hearing heart. I'm going to speak to you, but it's up to you to hear. It's up to you to receive it. It's up to you to put it in play. It's up to you.

I miss my buddy tonight. He preached this meeting, I believe, five years ago. Before I, this will be the fourth year I've preached it. He crossed over, not many days ago. Many of us still asking God, why? 45 years old. Arp went on to his reward. He ran his race and he finished. That whole situation was, bum fuzzlord of his heart was no longer working. There was some other things that played into his health issues. When I got there, I didn't know what to expect. There's a machine. Technology has so advanced itself. I don't remember the name of this machine, but it's not something that you can go home with. It's a machine that is very expensive for you to stay hooked up on. But it was basically, we were having faith. I wasn't wanting to think like this, but basically the machine was doing all the work. Much of my limited understanding of what was going on was, there was a wire. This machine is basically like a wire that was laying in over his heart, and it was, it was manipulating his heart to work and to to move the blood, blood through his body. When I got there, I was shocked. He was sitting up in bed, and he was talking. His color looked good. I thought, how in the world? His mind. This was before they put him on any kind of pain medication. He was very clear in his thinking. I couldn't see, other than he was weak, I couldn't see really any other side effects. I knew, I, I knew that the situation was dire because of the reports, but I just, I wasn't expecting this. And we talked about the past. A lot of memories. I've probably preached as many meetings across the nation with him as, as anybody. And, uh, we're just talking about good memories. And finally, we got around to talking about how it happened. And, uh, that's where all this started. He's just giving me the replay. And he was in the house, and he said, "I, I felt a little funny." And he said, "I knew something was not just right." And but he hadn't been feeling good. In fact, he and I just been in a meeting together, and he wasn't feeling good at that meeting. And, uh, he said, so it wasn't anything new. He said, but it's just like a heaviness. And and then he, then, then this is what he told me. He said, "I knew I was in trouble." He said, "It happened just, bam, bam, like back to back." He said, "The first thing that happened," Brother Brer, he said, "The first thing that happened is," he said, "I went completely, almost completely deaf in my right ear." He said, "Right next to that," he said, "the next thing after the hearing went in my right ear," he said, "the next thing I knew," he said, "I was on my knees clutching my chest, screaming for Jamie to call for the ambulance." And I didn't want to interrupt the story, but I'm thinking in my mind, you just had a massive heart attack that took between half and two-thirds of your heart's ability to to work appropriately, and you're telling me the first thing that happened was you lost hearing in your right ear? In my mind, I thought, there's some kind of connection to this. Your inner ear is extremely sensitive to blood flow, which is regulated by your cardiovascular system. This means a healthy heart helps maintain healthy ears. In fact, if you go to any kind of, I'm not talking about one of these Costco jobs, you go to any kind of really in-depth hearing appointment, something that's going to cost you some money, when they're asking you questions about your hearing abilities, they're going, one of the first things that they're going to ask you is if you're a heart patient. To have a healthy, a healthy heart helps maintain healthy ears. Unlike other body parts, your inner ear is only supplied blood by a single small artery. Over the past 80 years, a plethora of studies have tied the health of your ears to the health of your cardiovascular system, your heart, arteries, and veins. What studies are showing is the possibility that your ears, now listen to this, folks. This is not, this is not from some kind of biblical magazine or or book with that's centered around the Bible. It is showing the possibility of your ears being a window into your overall heart health. I submit to you tonight that it seems to me that the ears are truly the window to the heart. The connections between heart and hearing health are meaningful, as cardiovascular disease can affect a person's ability to hear and understand speech. Poor hearing can be caused by restricted blood flow to the inner ear. Over time, a restriction of blood flow to the ear can cause permanent damage. Blood flow is the key connection. Blood flow is the key connection between heart and hearing health. Just as the heart depends on good blood flow in order to beat, your ears reply, or rely, excuse me, on on a steady supply of blood to help you hear. In fact, because it's only one vein, because it's only one vein, the inner ear takes an extreme amount of blood flow in order to to work, to operate appropriately. There is great, there is a great amount of blood flow that's got to pump through that one vein in order for you to have the ability to hear, much more than it takes for your heart to pump the blood, blood down to the lower extremities of the body. There's so much spiritual implication to all of this, ladies and gentlemen. I'm telling you that the ears are the window to the heart. Come on. If your heart, if your heart, if there's a hearing issue, there is a heart issue. If there's a heart issue, there's a hearing. And I started thinking about all of the stories and all the things that I've unfold, I've seen unfold. And I'm not talking about the physical, now, the physical heart attack of Reverend Arp, my dear friend, but I'm talking of spiritual heart attacks. Come on. I'm talking about heart attacks that people never recovered from. It wasn't the heart that went first. Come on. The hearing. Come on. The.

Hearing. And so the issue tonight, come on, is it the chick that came first? Come on, the egg or the. I, I'm just telling you, you can't separate the ears from the heart. It takes one to have the other. But I pray after this Friday night of summit, come on, that every young person that has gathered here would leave saying, "God, I want an ear to hear. I want a heart to hear." I.

Want you to forgive me because I feel like this is more like a Wednesday night Bible study on a Friday night. It's interesting to me. You serious students of scripture understand the law first mentioned. And the first time that the physical ear is mentioned, the ear, it's not speaking of just a noun. The Hebrew word is not speaking of just an extremity that's stuck to the side of your head. The first place that ear is mentioned, are you with me right now? The first place that ear is mentioned is in Exodus chapter 15. And Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea. You know this. And the people murmured, verse 24, "What shall we drink?" Verse 25, "And he cried unto the Lord; and the Lord showed him a tree, which when he had cast it into the waters, the waters were were made sweet: there he made them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them. And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear." The first place that ear is mentioned in scripture is not a noun. Come on. It's an action. It's a verb. It's not just speaking. There's a precedent here. You hear what I'm preaching right now? Come on. I could care less of what you look like in the mirror. Come on. Do you know what he's saying? It's the Hebrew word, not just for something stuck to the side of your head. It's an action where you're leaning in with your ears.

"See, I know she's pretty, but what's God saying? I know they offered me a good scholarship, but what's God saying? What's Pastor saying? I know he's good-looking, but what's."

"God saying?" It's no accident that the first place in scripture that the word ear is used, it's used in an action verb, not a noun. Because God didn't give you ears for you to look better in the mirror. It's the cupping of the ear. It's the leaning in. I know, Solomon, you'd like me to do it all for you, but I can't do that. You've, you've gross mistaken. Come on. Your daddy's life. I know, Solomon, you just think that I've done everything for David, and I've done a lot for him. But a lot of what I've done for David is because David would hear. When I sent a prophet to David, he repented. When I sent a warning to David, he heard it. Come on. When I sent rebuke, he responded to it. When I, he played a harp. Come on. He was a prophet. He was a songwriter. He was a dancer. He was a musician. But David was a hearer. David had ears. The ear is the window. The ear is the window to the heart. Solomon, I know you'd like me just to do it all for you. I know what you're asking for. I'm going to put the right people in your life. I'm going to afford you the right opportunities. But I can't take the choosing out. Because if I remove the choosing, this is not a relationship. And God's not going to be anybody's dictator.

We got too many young people that are trying to ration their way. I'm going to preach this tonight. You listen to me. God gave you those brains. I don't have a problem with reasoning. Come on. I'm into a lot of things now.
Of of intellectuals and there's things that I like to re, but let me tell you, you can't bring your way through this. You can't educate your way through this. You can't get enough degrees to help you navigate. It's not in man to know the way. You better get your ears cuffed out. God, what are you saying about my future? What are you saying about this relationship? What are you saying about this? Well, I'll reason my way through. You better cup your ears. How do you know when you got him? He's put his time in. There's so much type and shadow on all this. Since I quit reading my text, I've been going 35 minutes. I'm trying to land a plane right now. I do my best preaching when I'm closing, so let me close right now. Oh God, he's done what's required of him. He's done what's necessary. He followed the rules. He's crossed all the T's and dotted all the I's. Come time now to free this. This is a tail right here. This is a tail. There's a reason that the ear, brother Holland, was the body part. Come on, come on. I don't, it wasn't the foot or the hand. Come on. I don't have to worry about man running off if I got his ear. Come on. I don't have to worry, come on, about feet, come on, that are swift to run to mischief, if I've got his ear. If, if he loves me, I've got his ear. Come on. If he cares about me, I've got his.

There's so much to see in this, and God, this is all new. You, you, you bear with me as I work my way through this. He said, when that seven year, after those six years, he said, you give him the option. Why? Because it's got to be a choice. Come on, come on. Eventually, it's going to peter out. Kayden, you're finding that out. I'm not there on Sunday morning. Mama's not there anymore to make sure you're up and there at 10:00 when you're supposed to be there. At some point, the six years are going to come up, and he's not looking over your shoulder anymore. At some point in every one of our lives, it's going to be something that's no longer something that you're made to do, and he will dwell in thy house forever. It's the, it's the question I get, brother Adcock, more than any other question I get. This question more. It's, it's the question of, of how we sustain, how we keep a harvest. It's the, I get asked this question more than anything, more than, more than any other question I get asked. All right, we don't have a problem catching the fish. How do you, how do you clean and keep what you're catching? And he will dwell in your house forever. If you're trying to make people do it, come on, there's no guarantee they're going to be there forever. Come on. Rules, you can't make enough rules. You can't make enough restrictions. You can't put up enough offenses. Come on. Just ask. Come on. And I think there ought to be guidelines, and I think there, there, there absolutely ought to be separation and standards that we have in the church. But you can't make enough standards to keep them in the house forever if you don't have their ear. Come on. I've come tonight to let the adversary know that if God has the ear of the next generation, he ain't got a chance of getting one of.

Us. If he comes in by himself, there's a reason I read both of these. Exodus 21 says, if he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he was married, and his wife shall go with him. If his master has given him a wife, and she has born him sons or daughters, the wife and the children shall be his, her master's, and he shall go out by himself. If that servant shall plainly say, there's some things that have got to be plainly spoken tonight in this summit service. You got to quit beating around the bush about how you feel about God. I'm going to preach this right now. In fact, something just come on me, and I'm going to preach till I get done. If it's midnight, I'm going to preach this in your hearts right now. I'm done worried about this. There's some things that it got to be plainly spoken. You got to quit mimsy-pimsy around about this living for God business. You got to quit tiptoeing through the tulips. You got to quit vacillating. He loves me, he loves me not, he loves. I'm talking about this up and down and in and out. Come on. You're not going to stay forever if you're always waffling. You got to make a decision.

Tonight. When a man comes in and he's got his mind made up, his speech is plain. You ain't got to wonder what he's saying. Dear God, Lord, don't do that kind of stuff to me. I don't have time for that. Ruth, the Bible says when Naomi saw, when she saw she was steadfastly minded. Apparently, you can see a made-up mind. You didn't hear what I just said. I'm talking about go ahead, back, go ahead. Well, I don't want to be lost. Then you need to tell your hands to get out of your pocket. You need to get rid of your cool attitude. You need to quit worrying.

You've yawned 10 times in the last 2 minutes. Come on. But you'll be the first one bouncing off the walls when it comes recreation time. I made up my mind, says something. Come on. It speaks for itself. If you've got your mind made up, it's going to show. It's going to show in your lifestyle. It's going to show in your conversation. It's going to.

Show. Closet. Nothing. I'm being careful right now. I don't want no church milk or whatever it's called. If we weren't live streaming, I'd get plain closet this and closet that and closet something else. Have baloney. There ain't never been a closet alcoholic. If they're an alcoholic, you know it. There ain't never been a closet one of them. If they're one of them, you know it. Come on. They talk like it. They look like it. They walk like it. There ain't no such thing as a closet made-up mind or a closet Christian. No. If you're, if you've got your mind made up to live for God, you may not jump as high as the other person, but you're jumping. You may not shout as loud as the other person, but.

I'm not trying to draw too much out of the text, but I believe God's given instruction to the master just as much as he's given instruction to the slave. If he comes speaking this speech, you can't decipher. I listen to some of you talking. I'm going, I don't know, 'cause you say one thing out one side of your mouth and something out the other. That ain't plainly speaking. If thy servant shall plainly say, I love my master. You want to get married? Let me just tell you, the Annie's go up. It doesn't get any easier. No, 'cause this slave said, I love my wife, I love my family, I love my children. And there's other things. When you got to be a nail in a sure place, you can't be selfish anymore. Come on. You can't, you got to think about somebody besides me and my and mine and I and. Come on. Hear what I'm telling you. You're right. It's an iPhone generation. You're right. It's an iMessage generation. It's I this and I that. No. Come on. You want to get married, you got to make your mind up for yourself because there's going to come a day that you're going to have to make my wife and my children. He said, I will not go out free. And his master shall bring him unto the judges. And he shall also bring him to the door, to the post of the door, the post of the door, bring him to the post of the door. A door is a passageway. It's a portal. Doors present opportunities to move from one environment to another. God, metaphorically, doors can signify opportunities. It's the door of the Kingdom of Heaven. It denotes the conditions which must be complied with in order to be received into the kingdom of God. Hear what I'm telling you. Our hands signify our deeds. Our feet represent our walk. But our ears, our ears signify our readiness to be obedient to the word of the Lord. I never thought that I would say this. You've watched me struggle through this for the last 15 years. I see a generation that's more ready to go and do than ever before, and I'm thankful for it. I see a boldness that has rose up in a generation that I haven't seen in my lifetime. You're not afraid to witness. You're not afraid to go. You're not afraid of Africa. You're not afraid of Germany. You're not afraid of campus ministry. But I have to ask you, come on, what determines what you do at the door? It's not your feet, and it's not your hands. Can, but can you hear? I'm afraid. I'm concerned. We have a generation that lives with her shoes on but has never cuffed her.

Ear. Just do it for me. Make the hard decisions for me. Make the hard choices for me. Make the difficult turns for me. Come on. We live with a generation who's pulled the gloves on. They're ready to serve. They're ready to go out on Saturday. They're ready to stay after church. They're willing to raise the money to go to Peak conference. They're willing to put in the hours. Come on. Hear what I'm telling you. Hear what I'm telling you. But I'm afraid that we live, we live amongst a generation that's come to trust their feet and their hands and their brains and, and nothing, nothing has happened with their ears. There's a reason he didn't say nail the foot. There's a reason he didn't say nail the hands. Because God knows, he knows whether he has somebody. And the true test of whether he has you or not is, does he have, does he have your ears? And it turns up, it turns out that Solomon got his wires all crossed up. I think he got stuck in what he asked God for, and he never heard what God said back to him. And God provided the opportunities, equipped him with what he needed, afforded him, afforded him every opportunity of escape, gave him the ability to make decisions, put the ears on the side of his head. But Solomon lived his life like this. I don't want you to see all the weight I've put on, but zoom me in on that camera right now. Zoom me in on that camera. Solomon lived like this. And not like.

This. It's been the demise of many fallen giants. Pastor Holland, come on. When you take David's sins and you put them next to Saul's, I would say David's sins were far greater than Saul's ever was. David committed adultery. He took the wife of one of his greatest men, and then murdered one of his greatest men. But David dies in honor. David dies in honor. And Saul dies in shame. Why? One man lived like this, and one man lived like this. He said, if he's ready, take him to the door, take him to the passageway, take him to the portal, because it doesn't matter what kind of opportunity affords itself. It doesn't matter what passes by. He'll abide here forever if you have his ear. When you get him there, you take the ear, the ear, not the foot, not the hand. I hope you're hearing me. Not the foot, not the hand. This has been the demise of many young men. Come on. Afforded all kinds of think talents and abilities. We're not lacking in talents and.

Abilities. I've been preaching long enough to watch a couple generations pass. This was the first year that I had a little teenager run up to me. I bet that punk hadn't had a shower all week. Run up to me, little smart aleck. He said, my mom and daddy wanted me to tell you that you were preaching youth camps when they were young people. I said, get out of here, you little punk, and go take a shower. I'm not old enough for you to be telling me stuff like that. I've seen them come and go. I've never seen a generation loading down with any more talents and abilities than this one. But are you? I don't know if they've worked the graphic up yet, but I've come to ask you, are you? Are you all in? Do you have skin in the game? I didn't ask if you had family in the game. I said, do you have skin in the game? I didn't ask if you had a daddy in the game, Kai. I didn't ask if you had a mom in the game. I want to ask you, son, do you have skin in the game? Come on. Every man's got to decide whether or not he's going to lay his ear on the.

Door. Hey, brother Adams, I put my ear on the door a long time ago. Come on. I laid there. I let him bore it through with an awl. There's not one opportunity that's ever passed by the doorway that's ever that's ever tempted or enticed me away from my master's house. Why? Because he's got my ear. You're not all in if he doesn't have your ear. Come here, boys. Come here, Ken, Kay. Come here. Every time Samuel, every time Samuel would come to David, cup your ears, bub. Cup your ears. Every time Samuel would come to David, Samuel gave David a word. God had, God had David's ear. And as soon as David, because his ears were cuffed, because ear was not a noun to David, ear was a verb. The book of Hebrews sums it up. It's about greater, greater, greater, greater, greater, greater, greater, greater, greater. But the book of Hebrews is about greater things, brother Copeland. But it's also, you go look up how many times that it talks about, harden not your heart. Come on. Harden not your heart. He that heareth the ear. Hear, hear. You can't have greater things. Come on. If you don't have skin in the game. You can't have the next level of the book of Hebrews if you, and with cuffed ears, with cuffed ears, when the word would come, there was, there was, there was no struggle. Go to your knees. He would respond. But every time Samuel would come to Saul, David, he didn't ever struggle with David. But every time he'd go to Saul, everything he told him, and everything, everything was Saul was about his pride. It was his pride was more important to him than being saved. Come on. His image was more important to him than his intimacy. His, his image was more important to him than being right with God. And he struggled, and he struggled, and he said, everything's a struggle. It gets wearisome. In defense of every pastor in this place, it gets wearisome. And what will happen over time as Samuel will cease to struggle with the man who doesn't have cuffed ears, and then what happens, brother Bree, is the thing that God said he would give Solomon, he will take it away. And he removed Samuel out of Saul's life. And now all of a sudden, Saul's decided he wants to cup his ears. But let me tell you something, you got to cup your ears more than just when you're in trouble. The ear, the ear, you're not, you got to hear what I'm fixing to tell you. The Holy Ghost just spoke to me. The ear, hear me, the ear was laid on the door, and the awl bored through it on the freest day of his life. Come on. The ear is the window to the soul. And he willingly lays his ear on the door of his master's house. What do you, what is a portal? Anybody know what a portal is? We have any builders here? It's what we were talking about last night, brother Copeland. It's, it's the buttress. It's the support that holds up. The portal was not just the porch. The porter was made up of pillars that held up the weight of everything else. All of this, brother Holland, is connected to the ear of the servant. The building cannot stand. Everything falls and rises. Everything stands and falls according to the ear. That's why he said, he that hath an ear, let him hear. And then he says this, the next verse, he said, I can liken in this generation, he said, it's like the children's sitting in the marketplace. We piped, and nobody danced. We mourned, and nobody lamented. We had the generation with, with ears, but nobody's listening. You're not ready for what I'm about to tell you. Are, and rightly so. One of our great doctrinal statutes, one of our most doctrinally found. Am I boring you in the back? Are you hearing me back there in the back? One of our foundational scriptures. There's how many gods are there? How many gods? What's our? We got many verses, but what's our one verse? What, what, here, oh Israel, we can scream and holler, there's one God all day long. But if somebody's not hearing, if somebody is not hearing, you got to hear it. You got to hear it. God's got to have your ears. I don't remember the exact percentage. I thought I was on to something, brother Holland, but I, I was, but I was just on the trail. I'm just now catching up to it. I asked a youth camp several years ago, how many people had never heard the voice of God? Out of those between three and 400 campers, I think somebody, the best of their calculations, if I remember right, it was over 80% of those kids. Now, you tell me, was that, is that go, is that because God's not speaking? Or is it because there's this generation that's rose up that's not all in? The pain, oh yeah, there's some pain at times, brother Narlock. It's synonymous and is associated with hearing and obeying. But can I tell you, under the anointing of the Holy Ghost, that the pain of obedience, and any pain that comes with hearing, come on, doesn't even compare with the pain of disobedience, and the pain of obstinance, and the pain of rebellion, and the pain of indifference. You know what we got to do tonight? Come on, brother Marx. Come on, lay this down and lay that down. We wouldn't have to worry about laying anything down if this generation would lay its ear on the.

Altar. I'm connected. The ear was laid on the door, on the portal, on the post of the door. The awl was bored through the lobe of the ear as a signia. I'm connected to this house. I'm connected to this house. I have skin in the game. I'll close with two stories. There's so much more to this. I'll give you a story first that was told firsthand. I actually witnessed both of these situations, and then I'll close with something that happened to me personally. Thanks, boys. Pastor, a friend of mine was a friend of several of you that are here. He's dead now. They were building a new church, and they were, his office was, they were having church in the gym, and his office was in one of the side rooms in the gym. And one afternoon, brother Copeland, I know you've heard this story, but one afternoon, a couple come flying barging into his office. He had counseled with them before. They had great marriage contention problems, he said. And I listened, and he said, I had heard all of this before. He said, I could have told you what he was going to say next. I told you what her response was. He said, I finally interrupted both of them. He said, I slammed my fist on the desk and I stood up. And he said, I'm going to tell both of you right now. He said, I want you to leave this office. And he said, I want both of you to go into that sanctuary, and it's in disarray in the middle of this building project. And he said, I want you both to go in there and throw yourselves on that floor and you pray till you pray through this. And he said, I watched them both get up, and they both stormed out the door. Give me a hearing heart, okay? Solomon, but I'm going to tell you what to do, but I can't do it for you. And he said, much to my dismay, because the young lady in the marriage was a family member, he said, to my shock, he said, the woman got in her car and peeled out of the parking lot. He said, she did more than just leave my words and leave the parking.

Lot. She started a downward spiral that I've heard stories, stories. Very few people go that.

Far. Obviously, the marriage busted up, he said. But I watched that man. He said, he never bobbled. He said, he squared his shoulders. And with his wife peeling out of the parking lot, he said, he made a beeline for that church. He said, I went in there a long, long time after. He said, I had forgotten about him. He said, a long time after. And he said, I could still hear the sounds. It's the tale of two drastic different directions because she, her life spirals was out of control, the cesspools of every kind of imaginable and unimaginable sin. And that man never lost a click. God just kept blessing him and kept blessing him and kept blessing him and kept blessing him and kept blessing him. And was it, was it because he was without fault in the marriage? No. Was all of the fall and failure at her feet? No.

In. I'm telling you, I've preached an hour and 13 minutes, but it, it could be the hour and 13 minutes that saves your life if you'll hear me tonight. You, you, I'm not going to apologize.
