Greetings once again. Another day, another video with Medicos Perfection Alice. Let's talk about Hodgkin's versus Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

So, Hodgkin's lymphoma is local adenopathy. Non-Hodgkin's, on the other hand, is adenopathy plus extranodal. Nodal and extranodal. Hodgkin's is rarely extranodal. I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying it's less likely. There is contagious spread. No contagious spread in Non-Hodgkin's. In Hodgkin's, usually no hepatosplenomegaly and no leukemic face. Non-Hodgkin's, it's common to see hepatosplenomegaly and leukemic face. Also, I'm not saying that no hepatomegaly whatsoever, it's rare. It's less common than Non-Hodgkin's.
Hodgkin's has the famous Reed-Sternberg cell. Non-Hodgkin's has no such cell. Hodgkin's affects young adults. Non-Hodgkin's, people or men in their mid-50s. Hodgkin's has a better prognosis, which means more curable. Non-Hodgkin's has a worse prognosis.
We usually treat Hodgkin's with radiation plus chemotherapy because it's local. And the chemotherapy that we use is ABVD: Adriamycin, Bleomycin, Vinblastine, Dacarbazine. Non-Hodgkin's, on the other hand, we use the CHOP regiment: Cyclophosphamide, Doxorubicin, Vincristine, and Prednisone. And sometimes we add Rituximab to it.
