the planetary ruler of the fifth house is the Sun. it is a firehouse. it is a yang house. its modality is fixed and its perspective is social.
the fifth house is our playground. what we find fun and entertaining. our hobbies and our attitudes toward risk-taking. partying recreation dating and romance. our authentic personal expression is contained in the fifth house.
the setting that the fifth house describes is a stage. it is where we shine and in turn receive admiration and praise for a good performance. we are seeking to prove our worth through putting on a good show. the applause we receive affirms our self-esteem and pride. the more applause the more we feel embraced by the world.
our identity stems from the attention we received and how we performed in the early 5th house setting and continues to evolve as we discover new avenues of personal expression and talents.
sports and competing are also the property of the fifth house. as they describe ways in which we play to win and ultimately then win the approval of others. winning and losing and how that defines and affects our pride and self-esteem are central themes of the fifth house.
the opposing 11th house is the house of liquid gains or the rewards for the creative risks we take in the fifth house.
children are ruled by the fifth house because they are something we creatively produce. children bring us a sense of pride joy and identity. we also find it easier to express our natural selves around children.
this house is our Funzone. it is how we engender pride through being appreciated by others. our personal performance and also how we forget ourselves when we play.
the fifth house represents the adolescent stage of human development from 12 to 18 years old.
