this is the house of others where we find our attitudes and experiences with partners both in romance and in business. marriage contracts and open enemies are also the property of the seventh house.
the seventh house is naturally ruled by Venus. it is a cardinal house. its element is air. it is a Yin house and the perspective is social.
the seventh house encompasses what we seek to find in others. the unintegrated elements of our unconscious selves that we look to partner with in other people so we can then feel complete. the first house is where we find the persona. the seventh is where we find the shadow.
the transition of consciousness from subjective to the objective realm. objectification projection seeing something in ourselves in someone else are all properties of the seventh house.
partners are the canvas we use to project the parts of our own psyche that need to be accepted embraced and integrated. projection is a defense mechanism that shows up when we are attributing our own thoughts feelings behaviors or motives to another. we can project onto people situations conditions and even animals. other people tend to be our most favored recipients of our psychological projections.
the seventh is one of the houses that can mean what we don't know that we don't know about ourselves. our blind spots. hence the partner we draw to us is the embodiment of what we just can't seem to see in ourself.
it is the collaboration with partners we find in the seventh house that can be the answer to our blind spots in decision making and in viewing the world at large.
