Bind & Loose, Break Demonic Bonds (Part 1)

Madison Yount27:11

Transcription

In today's video, we're going to talk about how to bind and loose. And we're going to look at the original Hebrew. And we're also going to look at where this is first mentioned in the Old Testament so that we have a really good understanding of what it means to bind and loose. And this is going to be helpful whether you are waring for your spouse, your children, you're in deliverance, it doesn't matter. It is going to be super helpful because this is a covenantal principle that the Bible talks about and this is the authority that Jesus has given us to bind and loose. And when we use it correctly, when we use it as it's laid out for us in scripture because Jesus actually models this for us, it is so so powerful.

Okay, so let's go ahead and dive in. The first two verses that I want to start with are from Matthew. And the first one is Matthew 16:19. And I have several scriptures. I have about six scriptures that we're going to dive into. And I have them pulled up on my laptop. So I'm just going to read them to you from there. That way I'm not flipping back and forth. But this this is Jesus speaking. And he says, "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom. Um I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

So this is the first time that we see the principle of binding and loosing. And then again, Jesus double downs on it. And in Matthew 18:18, he says, "Assuredly, assuredly," like, "No, my words are true." And he's emphasizing how true this is. Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

So, let me talk to you about the keys of the kingdom first, and then let's dive into binding and loosing. What Jesus is telling you here is that this is a law. This is a legal action. That what you are doing by binding and loosing and giving you the keys is a law. That we have the power to enforce spiritual law. The keys of the kingdom is a reference to Isaiah 22:22 where it says, "I will give you the keys to the house of David and whatever you open will not be shut and whatever you shut no man can open."

But this is an image and this is a reference to a a key bearer. In the Old Testament, there were key bears. They literally wore a key on their shoulder. But here's the thing. The key bearer was second in command. He was second in command. And he without asking for permission could open any door in the kingdom and could close any door in the kingdom. And he could also issue spiritual laws or physical laws like literally kingdom laws. He could literally issue laws.

So what happens? Jesus comes down. He takes the keys. He takes back dominion because Adam gave dominion to Satan in the garden. And Jesus takes it back. And then who does he give those keys to? He gives them to us. He gives them to us. This is a legal transaction. This is a legal order that is happening where he says, "And now I'm giving you the keys of the kingdom. I am giving you a legality. I'm giving you the ability to enforce kingdom laws with the keys of the kingdom."

So, we're now going to be able to open doors and we're going to be able to close doors and lock them. That is literally what it is saying. And here's the crazy thing. That is an image of being second in command. That's what it was referencing in the Old Testament. So, who's our commander-in-chief? Jesus Christ, right? And then we are second in command to that. And why do we have second command? He tells us right here because he wants us to bind and loose. Because it says, "Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. And whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

Before I get into the definition of binding and loosing and where we see examples of this in scripture, I need to talk to you about the tense. So, I used to teach high school English. Grammar was my thing. I love this. Greek grammar is slightly different. But we need to talk about the grammar in this because when it's translated to the English, it says will be loosed in heaven. Meaning if we do it on earth, heaven heaven is waiting essentially that it will be loosed in heaven. Like it it will be okay. No, that is not actually accurate. When you study the original Greek, first of all, it's a future construction with a present passive participle. Okay, let me I'm not going to go into the grammar, but you can study it and if you like grammar, you're going to love that. But what this means is whatever you do, it will have already been done in heaven. It will already have been done. Meaning, it's done in heaven first and we reach down and bring it here to earth. In fact, because it's done in heaven, we can now do it on earth. And so most people think that heaven is waiting on earth. It's already done in heaven. Earth earth is waiting on us, right? Earth is waiting on us. Most people think that earth is waiting on heaven. No, no, no. Heaven is waiting on earth because it's already been done in heaven. Earth is waiting for us to bring the kingdom here because it's already been done in heaven.

So what that means is because it's been done, we now have the authority to do it and bring it to here on earth. That means that earth is now going to echo what's been done because it's completed in heaven. It's already bound in heaven. The law is already signed. Right? So think about it like this. We're kingdom enforcers. We are enforcers in the kingdom of heaven. We are spiritual police officers. The law has already been signed. It is already bound in heaven and it is already loosed in heaven. It is already signed. Same thing in the physical. Okay? You have police officers. You have judges. You have a law that has been put into place. You have a law that's been put into place. You have a speed limit that has been set. But can people still break the law? Can they still speed? Absolutely. And then who comes in and reinforces that law? the police officers, the kingdom enforcers, which is what we are. We are kingdom enforcers and we enforce the victory that Jesus Christ has already secured for us because the devil is called the son of lawlessness, the man of lawlessness. The devil loves to break the law. It is up to us to enforce it. No, Satan, you get behind me. This law is already in place and you're operating illegally. So, I bind you and I arrest you. get out of here. We're enforcing the victory that has already been secured when the lawless one comes against us. That is what it is telling us with this verse in Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18:18 that whatever is bound in heaven will be bound on earth. It's already done. It's already signed into action. Now we have to enforce it so that earth comes into alignment with what's been done in heaven because it's already done there. It's already it's already the legal order. But we have to enforce it as kingdom enforcers, as kingdom operatives, as kingdom police officers because the law is signed and done. The cross was a legal transaction. It's done in heaven. So now it needs to be done on earth and it is up to us to enforce it. It is up to us to enforce it. to take the authority that Jesus has given us and enact that in authority and enact and walk in that authority that Jesus has given us to trample on every serpent, every scorpion and every power of the devil because that is the type of authority that we have. That is the law that has been put into place and it is up to us to walk that out and to enforce it to rise up in the authority that Jesus Christ has secured for us whom Satan has bound. He came in and said, "Nope, this is the legal order that I'm putting in for her. I'm going to bind her to infirmity." And when you look at Strongs, it actually says that binding means to yoke yourself with a demon so that a demon can operate um with you. So, it's being bound to a demon is what Strongs defines it as. So whom Satan has bound, think of it, for 18 years, should she not be loose from this bond? So that was a satanic bond. And Jesus came in with the legal orders from heaven and said, "Nope, I am loosing the satanic bond. She is going to come out of agreement with that. And I don't care what day it is because she deserves to be loose from it." Because if you can loose a donkey, then I can loose her on any day of the week. And so it is a legality. Jesus was literally enforcing kingdom laws. He was overturning the devils and he was bringing the kingdom law. That is what it means to bind and loose. That is what it means to do that.

So let's talk about practical examples of how can you bind and loose in your home. Okay? So first of all, we don't just want to rebuke a spirit. We want to bind it. Okay? Because rebuking it is like chastising it. You're scolding it. You shouldn't be doing this. I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. So you can rebuke first because Jesus rebuked spirits. In fact, when he silenced them, he typically first rebuked them. So if you have a demon that's manifesting and you want it to stop, start rebuking it. And then what you want to do is bind it. So often times when I'm I'm doing deliverance or I'm waring, I will say, I rebuke you and I bind you. I'm silencing you. You're not going to be able to speak. You're not going to be able to do anything. So, I'm rendering you ineffective by rebuking you, but now I'm going to bind you. And so, when we're binding, we are arresting in chains, but we're also prohibiting. I am saying you're operating here illegally. Therefore, you're going to be arrested and you're going to be commanded to leave because we're changing the legal order. And then I might say something like, I loose you from every satanic bond. Whether it's a bond of infirmity, whether it's a bond of nightmares, I am loosing you from that. So, I'm doing both because that's what Jesus is showing here too. And so, that is one of the ways that you can do this.

One of the things that I really love here when we look at this in terms of healing, this shows us that healing is a is a legal operation. That it is a legal overturning that's happening. That that infirmity is from Satan. It is from Satan. And that is the law that he wants to to bind you with and put a bond on you with that. That that bond of infirmity is from the devil. And Jesus is saying, "No, I am loosing you of that and I'm giving you the bond of healing because the bond of healing is from heaven and the infirmity is from hell." And so if you are dealing with illness, if you are dealing with health issues, you right here have a legality for being loose from that. And so I would start declaring this scripture out loud over your body every single day. No, I am loose from my infirmity. I am loose from it right now. I am not going to be held to this bond. I am going to be loose from this bond of infirmity right now in the name of Jesus. And so when we see binding and loosing, it's in the context of health. It's in the context of healing. Especially when Satan comes in and brings a bond of infirmity. It's not just a spirit. It's a bond. He brought a legal order and Jesus is overturning that. And so sometimes it's not enough just to cast out a demon that's associated with this because look at how many times Jesus healed through deliverance. Look at the little boy who was having seizures. He cast out the deaf and dumb spirit and the boy was healed and delivered. So that was a spiritual thing. But sometimes there are legal orders that are happening that the devil is bringing and he is bringing bonds into your life.

Let's talk about the definition of binding and loosing and what it actually means to bind. I mentioned that this is a legal action. This is a legal thing. This is a covenantal thing. So to bind does mean to put in chains, but it also means to legally prohibit. Say no, this is illegal. you cannot do this. So when we say I bind you, we're saying yes, you're put in chains, but you're also operating illegally. That what you're doing, I am legally prohibiting that you are breaking the law. Therefore, I'm putting you in chains. Therefore, I am arresting you because you are breaking the legal order.

Loosing has numerous connotations and numerous denotations. And it's important that we understand this, okay? And I'm going to read these verses to you so that you can see this. And it's really beautiful to see it in scripture. Loose means to yes untie. So if there's been chains, we loose you from those chains. We you are being broken free from those chains. You are being unbound from those chains. Okay? But it also means to anull. It means to enull. It means to declare that something is illegal and unlawful. So when we are loosing again it is that legality we are annulling what the devil has done when we are loosing someone from change we are annulling it it is a it is a legality in the spear that we are issuing the other thing with with loosing is it means to dissolve and when it comes to a dissolution it's talking about a legal order as well to dissolve that so that it's no longer the legality and the operating force.

I'm going to read a few verses to you where the word loosed is used in other scriptures because it really paints a full picture for what it means to loose something. Acts 2:4, this is talking about, sorry, Acts 2:24, this is talking about Jesus and it's saying he's having loosed the pains of death. Loosed the pains of death. He made the pains of death unlawful so that now we don't have to suffer suffer from it. He changed the legal order where it the the price for breaking the law was death. Jesus loosed that. He enulled that law that now we don't suffer the consequences of sin and death because Jesus Christ paid that. He loosed it. He made it unlawful. Acts 22:30 says he released him from his bonds. He loosed him from his bonds. literally. And so when we're saying bonds, there's two parts to that. If you look at the Old Testament, it says you will break the bonds. That's a legal bond. We have bonds in the physical realm. You have bonds and deeds and titles. And so that's a legal thing as well as chains. It's both, right? And so what we're h what we're seeing here is this is not just saying I'm going to put you in chains and I'm going to do that. No, I am telling that you're arrested. You're bound. You've broken the law. and whatever you've tried to do and issue as a law, I'm I'm overturning it. I'm loosing it. I'm annulling it. Which is so powerful.

It's also used in the context of marriage in the context of covenant to be bound to someone. This is 1 Corinthians 7:27 and it says, "Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be loosed." And so that is a legal exchange. Marriage is a legal action, right? And so it is talking about the legality there.

The last verse that I'm going to read to you is 1 John 3:8. And this is so powerful. I love this one so much. And oh, it's so good. Okay. He who sins is of the devil, but the devil has sinned from the beginning. For the purpose, the son of God, for this purpose, the son of God was manifested that he might loose the works of the devil. Now, if you're reading it in your version, it likely says destroy. So that he might destroy the works of the devil. That's not actually the Greek word there. The Greek word there is loose. Jesus Christ made the works of the devil unlawful. He made them unlawful. He literally overturned the law that the devil was using and Jesus Christ made it unlawful. He unnulled it. He unnolled it. But guess what? The devil wants you to think that it hasn't been nullified, that his working hasn't been nullified, that it hasn't been loosed. And so, he will come. It is up to us to reinforce the anulment, the loosing that Jesus Christ already did because he didn't just destroy the works. He made them unlawful. He absolutely anulled them. And so, the biggest thing that he that we're seeing here with binding and loosing is this is not just, oh, I'm going to put you in chains and I'm going to do that. No, I am overturning the legal order that you've been trying to enact in my life, in my home, in my body. I'm overturning that legal order with the law that Jesus Christ signed into place with his death, with his burial, with his resurrection, and with his blood. Because the cross was a legal transaction. It was a legal transaction that overturned the works of the devil.

I'm going to read to you my favorite right here. This is Luke 13 and this starts in verse 12 and I'm actually going to read to verse 16 to you because this is the example that we see of Jesus binding and loosing. Okay, so we actually see him giving us a model of how to bind and loose. But let me read it to you and then we'll we'll dive into it because there's several things that I want to say. Okay, starting in verse 12. But when Jesus saw her, this is the woman who was bent over. But when Jesus saw her, he called her to him and said to her,"Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." And he laid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight and glorified God. But the ruler of the synagogue answered the indignation because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. And he said to the crowd, "There are six days on which men ought to work. Therefore, come and be healed on them and not on the Sabbath." The Lord then answered him and said, "Hypocrite, do not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox and his donkey from the stall and lead it away to water? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, think of it, for 18 years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath."

So I want to talk to you about the loosing because we do see that Jesus is talking about yes he is loosing her from her bonds because she was chained to a demonic order. She was chained to a she was chained to a satanic order. And so when Jesus he doesn't just say be healed. Jesus saw in the spirit that the devil came in and bound her. And what that means is the devil issued a legal order that was not in alignment with the kingdom of heaven. And so when Jesus is saying you are loosed, he is saying I am freeing you from the devil's law. I'm freeing you from the devil's law where you're bound and you're sick. He's saying you are loosed of it. He says woman, you are anulled of that infirmity. The legal order is now nullifying that that you can be healed now. And then so what does he first do? He overturns the legal order and then he lays hands on her and immediately she was healed. So he did two parts with this healing. Okay? He changed the legal order and then he laid hands on her and she was healed because guess what? A lot of times in the spirit and in the physical things are changed by the the laying on of hands. Our hands can be a legal transaction in the spirit. Our hands are so powerful when they are anointed with God, when they are anointed with the Holy Spirit, when we are using our hands. You know, it even says in James, if you are sick, go to the elders and let them anoint you and lay hands on you. Because what's happening there is there is an order that's being changed. And I believe that order is being changed because what happened to Jesus's hands? They were pierced. They were nailed. That was illegality. His hands were pierced so that we can operate and flow in healing. That is what I believe. And so he laid hands on her and she was healed.

But the devil came in with the devil's law. With the devil's law. Because let me tell you something. The devil knows spiritual laws. He knows them. He knows the law. He knows them. And he wants to bring his law. Because just like there the courts of heaven, there's a demonic court. There is a demonic court because Satan cannot create. What has he done? He has perverted and copied and counterfeited everything. And so Jesus comes in and he says, "You are loosed from your infirmity. You are loosed. I'm annulling what Satan tried to bind you with." Because it says in verse 16, "So ought not this woman being a daughter of we see a legal order happening." And it's important that we understand that we don't just want a war against a spirit. We want to change the entire legal order. And that's what Jesus is telling us in Luke 13 here. He's showing us how to change the legal order. And so we can change the leg the legal order. Yes, bind and cast out spirits, but change the bonds. Loose people from the bond. And so maybe there's a bond of chaos in your home. Maybe there is a bond of disorder. Start saying, "No, I loose my home from this bond of disorder. I loose my home from this bond of if your children are disobedient. I loose my children from the generational bond of disobedience. My children are walking in the bonds of heaven and they are walking in the bond of obedience. That is what they are bound to. They are bound to heaven. They are loose from the satanic order and they are bound to the legal laws and the legal order of heaven. And so you can war that way. And let me tell you, it is so much more effective. And the devil does not want you to know about these bonds. He just wants you to cast out spirits. He doesn't want you to overturn the legal order. So we do both. We cast out the spirits. We war against the spirits. But we overturn the legality that Satan is bringing in our lives because he's operating illegally. And that's what he does. He is the son. He's the man of lawlessness. He hates the law. He doesn't want the kingdom of heaven. and those laws to be operating here and on earth and in our bodies and in our homes and in our hearts. But guess what? We have the kings of the kingdom. We can do this. We can do this. We have the authority to not only trample but to change the legality to anull it.

I want to tell you just in closing some of the things that I see when people are binding. Okay? When people are binding, I almost always see a scroll that is coming out. Like an angel with a scroll is coming from the courts of heaven. And when you are binding something, it's it's a legal notice in the spirit. And there is a scroll that is unrolled. And it's like this is the legal order. This is the new contract. This is the other thing. And then guess what those angels do? They're going to tell the spirit realm with that scroll. This is the new order. You have to follow it. There are literally angels on assignments that are activated when we bind and loose properly that when we do it the way that Jesus shows us to do it. Scrolls are almost always issued and then they go and notify. They go and notify just like if you if there's a warrant out for your arrest, guess what? Someone's coming with that warrant and they're saying, "Hey, I have orders to arrest you." There are literally angels that do just that. And my f I call them arresting angels because if you look at Revelations 20, Revelation 20, this is when an angel with a key and a chain is sent and he throws the devil into the bottom of his pit and he chains him there. He arrests him and he binds him. But it is a legal thing because to be thrown in jail, which is basically what it was, he was being thrown in jail in the pit is to be arrested. So one of the things that I do when I'm praying and ministering deliverance Yes. be obedient and send them to wherever the Holy Spirit wants you to. Okay? People send to the pits, people send to the abyss, they they send to wherever. And I'm just going to I just listen to the Holy Spirit. And sometimes it's different. But I often times declare that whatever spirit I'm waring against, it is rebuked. It is bound. It is arrested. And that on the basis of Revelation, 20 angels are coming to chain it up so that it it can't break loose. Not only can it never return, but it's not even going to be free. And let me tell you, they hate that because they don't want to be bound. They want to be sent out to where they can still do something, right? That's why Jesus let them go into the pigs because they weren't sent somewhere and chained and completely bound. He allowed them to go into the pigs. And so this is an arresting. This is not only an overturning, but it is an arresting. And let me tell you, when I ask the Lord to send arresting angels, they come. And most of the time, the demons scream. The demons scream because they're like, "No, because they know that they not only like, yes, they're submitting to the name of Jesus Christ because the demons know that they're terminated. The demons know that they are terminated, that they are literally rendered illegal, that they're not just commanded to leave, that they're going to be arrested and chained." And that is what I pray on the basis of Revelation 20.

So I hope that this gives you a new battle strategy. Whether you're a deliverance minister, whether you are waring for your health, whether you're waring for your children, start praying not against not just against spirits. And don't just rebuke, but start binding, start arresting, start overturning the legalities, whether it's in your bloodline, whether it's personal, come against those bonds because it is powerful. It is absolutely incredible. what it happens. And a lot of times people are not getting traction in the spirit realm because they've they've cast out so many spirits, but they haven't changed the law. They haven't changed the law that is in heaven because it's already been done in heaven. And it's up to us to enforce it and bring us bring the law of heaven down here. That's exactly what Jesus is telling us. You're in the model prayer. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

So, I hope that this video blessed you. Thank you so much for watching.
