Saturn

Saturn exists to help you discover your free will. Saturn is the limits we live within and eventually live without after we have learned the lessons that result from achievement. We strive and work and make a concrete success of ourselves only to discover that our definition of success is not actually based on external values or achievements at all.

Saturn teaches us about the nature of freewill through restriction. By making us do things, this causes us to ponder what it is to be Iranian, which is the next step in the evolutionary process. Much like a prison causes a prisoner to think of how he can free himself from the bars of the well-known cell, the confines that he is in, but only after he has been imprisoned. Previous to imprisonment, one acts as they act without considering the consequences. After imprisonment, one counts their days until freedom and is on their best behavior if they want to be able to have that freedom at all.

So Saturn is like a prison that keeps us safe within its walls until we break out. And that's right, until we break out. You may be surprised to hear that in regards to Saturn, but that's what he's really about. We are rewarded when we go full Uranus and break out of the system. The set of principles and procedures that were keeping us in are now seen as a hindrance to our freedom. That's where we want to get to. That's why we cycle out of a set of restrictions at the Saturn returns. The organized method is scrapped for a better method at the first Saturn return, although it is still a Saturn method, but evolving further towards one's own method and often scrapped altogether. Then at the second Saturn return, we are asked to re-examine our assumed limitations and boundaries at each Saturn aspect of itself, and then we see our way out of those. We see our way out of those limitations and boundaries, and we lessen our karma each time or worsen our karma by doing that cyclical business over and over and over again.

Saturn stands at the thresholds to the gates of enlightenment. He comes before Uranus. He is the one who decides if you have dealt with your Karma. Have you woken up enough to recognize him? Do you understand yourself? Do you know what you want apart from what everyone else wants from you? Do you know what you want in spite of what everyone else thinks you should want or you should be? If you have not been able to answer these questions, then you are not allowed to proceed to the Uranus 11th house stage. You are made to learn by more work and more work. By being made to work, you will think about how you can get out of it. You will think about work. That means you will think about what's hard. That means you will make it conscious. That means it will lead you to to tell yourself and admit what you want. This has to be known. You have to know what you want if you're going to realize your true purpose above the worldly purpose.

Saturn uses to elevate our understanding about our spiritual purpose. So we are born, hmm, excuse me, and for the first seven years, we are in a suggestible state. It's a state of hypnosis. Children are a sponge until the age of seven when Saturn squares its needle position. This solidifies their brains and their bones and their social and emotional development, their language and their academic development, and they now typically have some adult teeth growing in at the same time. Saturn rules our structures, our bones, our teeth, the things that hold us up, the support that that we have in, and the external support that we have on the outside. So when Saturn squares itself, we are struggling with a type of identity crisis. What we are doing may not fit what we want to be or do in the long run. We question ourselves and deal with insecurity due to being unsure. We are finding out if our goals are supporting our continued growth. If our goals are outdated, if they are based on an old image of ourselves, then we end those pursuits or we modify those pursuits. We get a chance to grow out of the restrictions we absorbed up until the age of seven.

Every time Saturn aspects himself, every seven years, like clockwork, every seven years, we have a chance to break out of social conditioning, familial conditioning. Every seven years, we get closer and closer to either crystallizing into an old codger or attaining flexibility by freeing ourselves from inhibiting, curmudgeonly ways. Saturn rewards us for meeting his good side, as every planet has two sides. Saturn asks us to become our own authority by breaking out of our past conditioning, mainly instilled in us by authority figures before seven years old. Guilt is also a facet of Saturn because we must say no to our past parental figures if we are to be free. We must face the challenge of differentiating ourselves from our parents, especially the dominant parent. We have to truly grow out of our parents' influence to learn the lessons of Saturn. As long as we stay where we are told, then we will be made to work until we don't have to work, and that's when we don't require the outside approval that we were seeking through the becoming a success through working.

Saturn urges us to grow through regressing, regressing out of the limits set upon us by the conditions that we were born into. The Moon, who naturally opposes Saturn, has the job of growing out of the past as well. The Moon is the beginning of the past. It's where we come from. Saturn is the end of the past, where we end up, and potentially the beginning of the past if we don't grow out of the Karma that we continue to respond to. So the Moon is our inherited karma from genealogy. Saturn is our present karma from acting out of the past, and both planets seek what is known and familiar. This is why they represent different facets of commitment.

Saturn is also the image that we project as a result of honing that image, practicing that image to achieve the best results. Saturn is the reputation that precedes us. One must be allowed to act in the moment to achieve maximum results. Saturn is prepping us for this lesson in the 11th house. Saturn is the natural ruler of the Midheaven, and this is the point in the sky and midday when the Sun has reached its peak. It's at its brightest. This represents the culmination of our work and our creativity. It's high noon. The Midheaven is also the area of life where we encounter authority figures. So Saturn is the planet that is the agent of the Midheaven, the agent of the 10th house, acting in the sign that he is in. We unconsciously react to those at the Midheaven. We represent unintegrated issues with parents and those who rule us and restrict us, government, bosses, those above us in rank. As we realize our potential outside of what we were taught, we see ourselves beyond our self, beyond the image that our parents had of us. With the past out of us, we leave behind the reactivity to those who held the keys to our success because we no longer project our childhood parental issues onto them and then experience the past again.

The Moon and Saturn both require a conscious approach to learn the lessons that are offered. We have to recognize how we are living the past as as the present and then into the future. If we don't step outside of what is known, the Moon is that reservoir, reservoir of all that has happened up until the present moment, and Saturn is the box that we put that known experience into and then accept rules about it that were told to us by someone who is in a position to know better, or so we thought. So they could be either an adult who indeed knew better because they were more aware, and this could be your karma, or they could have been an adult who was programmed by the past because they were not self-aware and then perpetuating all the consequences of the past onto you and then to the future, and you will carry their karma into the future if you do not say the buck stops here. You take responsibility.

Saturn wants you to take genuine responsibility. Wake up from the past. Determine your own image. Become a success because of who you are. Saturn teaches us that we have free will. Saturn rewards us when we find our free will. Guilt, shame, lack, these have to be seen through. Saturn will not allow you to advance into retirement from your karma, which is Uranus in the 11th house, until you see that you have imprisoned yourself. You need to recognize how you have been imprisoned by the past, how others have been imprinted and imprisoned by the past. The Moon's imprinting, Saturn who naturally opposes, is our imprisoning because of that. Both create a loop of unconscious behavior. The Moon urges us to find our inner security by creating or doing. Saturn and creating outside structures, being a social success, and therefore becoming externally secure. And we can either continue in this karmic loop or step out of the externally imposed role we have unconsciously been trying to become a success at and be free to do as we will.

The Sun is the seed of the soul. As the central power in the solar system, it is the will of the Sun, the will of the higher self, that brings light or intelligence to the rest of the psyche. The Sun animates the human being. It is the reason for living. It is our purpose. Saturn is the practical vehicle for the Sun to be made of six, for us to realize the Sun, to make it real, to realize, to make it real, to access our true potential, which is creative potential. Programmed learning from the past must be grown out of at the Saturn stage if we are to complete the final stages of the astrological cycle of self-realization at the final two stages of the Uranus 11th house, 1912 house. All the twelve stages of personal evolution urge us towards freeing ourselves from cyclical patterns and suffering, which is also known as Karma.
