Welcome to this last video of our training. We have studied how different skills like attention and memorization work. We've also discussed the topic of addictions. In fact, Neuroscience makes it possible to improve daily life by optimizing cognitive abilities. Everyone is capable of doing this regardless of age or current state of health.

Several factors contribute to healthy cognition: sleep and rest, diet, physical exercises, creative activities, and hobbies. Humans spend a third of their lives sleeping. It is vital for health. There are two main phases of sleep: non-REM and REM. Short-term sleep deprivation, such as 4 to 5 hours, has no serious impact. But if this deprivation is prolonged, it becomes more difficult to recover. Attention and alertness are the first to be impacted, followed by cognitive, emotional, and psychological functions. Fatigue and dizziness may also appear. What's more, the brain uses sleep to eliminate accumulated toxins.

Let's take a look at foods that improve brain function. The brain consumes a third of your daily calories. It is therefore advisable to eat a balanced diet containing carbohydrates, limiting them and opting for whole grains; omega-3 and omega-6 in the form of essential fatty acids found in large oily fish such as salmon, small oily fish such as sardines and herring, eggs, but also in the form of monounsaturated fatty acids present in nuts and seeds and their oils such as walnuts and flaxseed, olive oil, rape seed oil, avocados; antioxidants present in dark-colored fruits and vegetables (blueberries, black currants, carrots, tomatoes, collard greens, broccoli, etc.); vitamins, mainly B vitamins such as B1, B6, B9, and B12 present in B1: eggs, salmon, nuts, pork; B6: turkey, chicken, salmon, tuna, chickpeas, potatoes; B9: poultry, flaxseed, legumes, asparagus, soy, spinach; B12: meat, red and white fish, eggs, seafood, food and dairy products; minerals, especially iron, which helps oxygenate the brain and helps it produce dopamine and serotonin. It is found in green vegetables, red meat, flaxseed, whole grains, quinoa, mollusks.

Water. Physical exercise also prevents neural deficiencies. It releases endorphins, improves sleep, increases brain plasticity, and strengthens synaptic connections. Movement should be consistent and daily, but not intensive. The choice of a sport must take into account age and physical abilities, as well as the person's preferences.

Artistic activities are commonly used to hone cognitive abilities. Everyone, adult or child, will benefit from it, as well as any other form of leisure and hobby. These activities (music, drawing, painting, and others) have both an emotional effect, such as enhancing communication, and cognitive effects, such as developing attention, creativity, and memorization.

Neuroscience is also used in educational settings. The fusion with education sciences is called neuropedagogy. You will find some interesting exercises in your PDF course materials. Here are some common misconceptions: the best way to teach is to continuously apply innovations; innovation does not automatically mean systemic improvement; some new methods are actually well-known techniques that have been optimized; take into consideration the learning style (visual, auditory, etc.) to promote learning; it is actually necessary to involve all the senses, thus creating new memory anchors; from a certain age, learning becomes difficult; age has no impact on learning abilities; women learn more easily because they can multitask. Although women are indeed multitaskers, learning and performing a task effectively requires total concentration. The principle of brain hemispheres: right hemisphere being creative and left hemisphere being logical. While the left and right hemispheres perform different functions, everyone uses their entire brain.

In business, Neuroscience touches on several areas: the different decision-making mechanisms, interpersonal communication patterns, options for improving staff cohesion, stress reduction techniques in the workplace, techniques for improving staff productivity. Neuroscience also promotes the creation of a healthy work environment where employees can become neuro-agile. When people are neuro-agile, they are able to learn new skills quickly, to unlearn old behavioral patterns, and consequently perform better. What's more, a pleasant climate encourages mutual support, creativity, and team bonding. When applying Neuroscience, the leader sets clear goals and specific deadlines for their team while allowing some leeway, reducing stress levels. This approach improves creativity and productivity.

Understanding how the brain works has a positive impact. Neuroscience proves that the brain has unlimited learning potential. Neuroscientific strategies enable people to unlock this potential.
