Transcription

What is up roofing community? It's Jay from the Roof Nuts. Just finishing the day here with moderate success. It was alright. We won't win a hunt today. Saturdays are for, well, hunting. That's when you go after the roofs that are over a certain square square footage. So we were going well, hon. Today, so I told everybody earlier that I was going to drop a line. I was gonna say, I said I was gonna do it tomorrow, but here's the thing. I'm not gonna do it tomorrow 'cause it's Sunday and I'm gonna be home. Sunday, I'll be honest with you, I'm gonna enjoy myself with my family. So I wanted to drop this on here for y'all.

Not interested. When a customer at the door says, "Not interested," there is one word that can shock the system a little bit. And maybe, listen, I'm gonna tell you this, it doesn't mean that you're gonna close every single person with this one little word. What this is going to do is maybe help you close 20% more of your "not interested." Okay? If you're getting "not interested" a lot, most of the time it's something you're saying in your pitch or you're talking too fast at the door. I get that a lot. I talk a lot. I talk really fast at the door. So if you get "not interested" at the door, either you're squaring up to the door too much, you're not perpendicular to the door. If you square up to the door, or your shoulders square to the door, that's an intimidating posture. So people just want to get away from that. So they say "not interested" really fast because they just don't want anything to do with it.

So, so if people say "not interested," 90% of the time, either you're talking too fast, you're squared up to the door, or number three, which is most of them, they're just not listening. They are not listening to what you're saying. The reason you're in that neighborhood is because you're there to help people, right? That's what you're there to do. You came to that neighborhood. You're not knocking that door because it's a 2012 or 2017 roof and you just want to get out and knock a bunch of doors. You are there for a purpose. You're there for a reason. There is a reason that you are knocking that door. And if that customer says "not interested," they are usually just not listening.

So here's how you answer "not in." So I'm gonna go to the door. "Hey, my name is Jay. I'm with One Two Three Roofing. We're doing some work in the area. Obviously, you've seen our trucks in the area. You've seen us, you know, around this area or you, if you're not in that area, hey, I'm sure you've seen a lot of the roofing guys here and around the area. So what we're doing is we're actually inspecting a few homes. Yours is the next one up in line. And so what we're going to do is just go ahead and jump on your roof, take a few pictures, and let you know what condition your roof is in. Sounds good, right? Head down. Name. What's your name?"

So let me say it like I normally would. At the pulley, my fiance has my entire garage pulled out into the. I'm gonna show y'all this furnace real quick. So my entire garage is pulled down here to do. Anyway, so all right. Everybody says, "Listen." All right. I'm gonna go over it again. Let's just say that we're not there, right? We're just, we're hot. We're fresh. We just came in this area. Maybe it's a perimeter of a tornado or something. Hey, I'm sure you guys saw the storms last Sunday. We're just here checking on everybody. We're doing some free roof inspections. We're going house to house. So we're jumping on the roof, kind of taking some pictures, let you know what condition your roof is in. See, it sounds good, right? What's your name? Boom. Head down. Sign the deal. Okay? Just assume the sale right off the bat. They say, "Oh, I'm not interested." You look up from that piece of paper and you're paying on the ground and you look at them and go, "Oh, well, why not?" Shocks them every time. They have not. What? Okay. And most of the time they're gonna go, "Wait a minute. Okay, what is it again you're doing?" And you go, "Oh, yes ma'am. You remember the storm last Easter Sunday? Yeah? Okay, great. Hey, we're just here. We've had a couple calls in the area of folks that might have had a little something happened to their roofs. So what we're doing is just checking out the whole neighborhood, get everybody a free roof inspection. It's kind of a way for us to reach out and meet the community. Anyway, we take some pictures and we kind of let you know what condition your roof is in. Sounds good, right? What's your name?" Done. That's it.

The little word "why." Why not? Why? Why not? Why are you not interested? Let's offer your free roof inspection. Why would you not be interested in that? So anyway, that's the tip of the tip of the day. And you guys get out there, go help a ton of people. That's what we're here for. I know everybody wants to make money and money motivates 90% of the people that are in this industry. But listen, if you lead with your heart in this industry, it makes a huge difference because you have a leg up on 90 percent of the people in this industry. Lead with your heart. Get out, go help a bunch of people, just like we help, like helping our roofing, you know, owners grow their business. You get out and you go help those people in the communities that people you can help put new roofs over their heads and all that good stuff. So listen, let's get out, let's help some people. If you guys got any questions or any more objections, any objections you can't handle, put them on the comments below and I'll do another video on them. So and then just give a shout. All right, it's you wanted bizzle with the Roof Nuts.
