But you said the prefrontal cortex, absolutely right. And you said that most people's is not strong, because of this they let all the things in the world affect them. And because of this, they are not able to become achievers in life or become successful. Right? They have a lot of potential, but this part is not strong, so they are stuck somewhere. Absolutely. How can one strengthen their brain? Absolutely. So first of all, people say, "Oh, Raj must have more than 24 hours, that's why he does so much work," or "Dr. Shweta has so much time." Time has been distributed equally to all of us. Resources might vary a little bit. But the biggest resource, is it given differently to anyone? Everybody has the same brain, the same physiology, everything is given well. Now, a little bit goes back to your childhood also. That zero to five years is a very critical window, a critical developmental period for the brain. Because the speed of growth of neurons is astronomical. 700 synaptic connections are being formed per second from zero to three. And if we study the learning there, then the peak learning, the sensory, whatever I can process, I am seeing, I am hearing, that happens at three years. And we think, "Oh, the child doesn't understand." The child doesn't know anything. So the seeds of the development of the prefrontal cortex start right there. They start from zero to three. The seed of it starts there. So the childhood part is our first. Now many people will say, "My child has grown up," or "My chance is gone." "The work is finished." It's not like that. Then there is another period which comes between the age of 13 to 20. You can influence it quite a bit there too. Now, the interesting thing is that voters are negotiating that it should not be 18, because the frontal cortex is not fully developed then, so you cannot make good choices. So at that point, if you have built habits, you have started to work on yourself, then you are working a lot externally, but you are not working internally. The moment you start to work at that age, whoever is listening at this age, if you start building these kinds of practices, then your frontal cortex remains sharp. Now, suppose, yes, if that age from 13 to 18 has also passed, and now you are 30, between 30 and 50, 28, perfect. And my audience is mostly in this age group. So this is very important. 25 to 35 is sufficient. Tell me, 25 to 40, I'll bracket it. Let's say, between 25 and 40, if it's assumed that both these chances were missed, are we finished? Are we done? Can we not do it now? Do we have to start from the beginning? Even then, there is nothing wrong in it. Because of neuroplasticity, the day you start working on the brain, plasticity is such a beautiful gift from God. Don't think, "Oh, my brain is hardwired. These are my genes." Blame everything. "Oh, my genes were bad. My parents didn't raise me properly." So all generational trauma, they did it all. Yes. So now I won't do anything. I will just get angry at everyone, and my life will be spent in fight, flight, fear, freeze. But it's not like that. The day you decide, the day you commit that you want to build this frontal cortex strength, that is possible. And the very first stage is awareness. Are you aware about your limbic and frontal cortex? So these two work like a seesaw. If my limbic is fire, fire, fire, I get angry at everything, I feel threatened, I cannot control my emotions. I fall in love. That's why they say "fall in love," right? I fall in love. Because that is what your limbic system is doing. Right? And if you are constantly in that limbic state, your frontal cortex is not working. But the moment your frontal cortex starts to work, your limbic goes down. So be aware. As you rightly mentioned, if a car cuts me off, what is my reaction? If somebody did something wrong to me, how am I taking it? In my entire routine, right from morning. So do something called the day audit. Audit your emotions. Audit your actions. Audit your responses. Audit your relationships. Audit your work, your profession. When you reach the stage of awareness, then you understand that, yes, I am too much in the limbic state, or I use this too much. So that is the first step. Now, what is the second step after that? Start doing activities which are making it strong. What comes in that? The very first thing which comes is, you have to practice all those four waves I mentioned – alpha, beta, theta, delta – throughout the day. Raj, if you ask anyone in this 25 to 40 age group, and I can say this with certainty, how much time do you sit with your eyes closed during the day? People's answers are shocking. Some say, "Never." Some say, "Maybe under a minute." Some say, "Perhaps I go to pray once." So you are not building your alpha. If I want to build my biceps, I don't look at the biceps, I have to work for it. Same thing, if you want to work for a calm response, a balanced response, a frontal cortex which is allowing your emotions to be under control, you want a good alpha. You want a very good theta. Because theta is also giving you creativity, vision, future. So now, what to do for theta? Just closing your eyes won't work. You have to go deeper. That is meditation. Suppose meditation is a very big word and sounds scary. Then do you listen to music that can create theta? Do you live with people like that? Because you imbibe the qualities of the people that you live with. Right? Which we call mirror neurons. If I come here to the studio in a very agitated state, I can transfer that. Emotions are contagious. So are you living in that environment? Now you live in an environment of anger, anger, anger, and say, "No, I want to create theta." How will that happen? Not possible. So then you have to change your environment. So you have to change your environment. You have to change your daily habits. Now, suppose you consume alcohol, smoke, there is nicotine, caffeine too, and then you say, "No, I want alpha theta." How will you create alpha theta from so much beta? So how is addiction to you? You know you have to let go of all these things. You have to leave something. You know, if we hold ice in our hands, after some time it burns, and if a small child holds it, the mother will say, "Oh, let him leave it. Why are you holding it?" So we want to hold it and then keep complaining that my brain is not developing. How will it develop? Thank you so much for watching this clip till the end.
