Anybody here old enough to remember buying a cassette deck or a DVD player 20 years ago, right?
Now, what you should have done is read a review of the sound quality of the device and its value for money and bought it on that. You didn't, did you? You pressed eject. And if the thing opened with a really elegant whirring motion and a hint of hydraulics, you said, "That is a brilliant product. I'm going to buy that."
On the other hand, however good the sound reproduction was, if you pressed eject and it just went clack, that was manifestly rubbish and you weren't going to give it any house room.
If you had allowed accountants too much power, they would have got rid of that little foil lid on the top of the San Pellegrino. Other than Red Bull, this is a brilliant attempt to create an adult non-alcoholic drink. [music] You know, you can be a swanky ad agency, you can be a five-star hotel, you can serve this stuff and nobody thinks, "Ooh, they're giving us canned drinks."
Now, part of it's the brand, part of it's the orange they use, part of it's the product, but the accountant must have dreamed of killing that little foil lid. It's meaningful precisely because it's unnecessary.
