Animations that used to take days, you can now make in minutes with Google's Nano Banana and Midjourney. Now, with these two tools combined, you get godle animation fast. And you can just take a look at these examples that I made in minutes.
So, here we have an animated map where we can see elements appear on the map. But we can also use this for web design because we can create these looping backgrounds which serve as excellent user interface elements. We can also create exotic text animations for motion graphics like how I animate my name here or for logos. And these logo stings are exceptionally useful for any type of branding project. And in this video, I'll show you how to do it yourself. We will level up from simple edits and go all the way through to complex motion graphics. And I'll even show you how you can make money with these different tools. I'm AI Samson and this channel is about the future of creativity with AI.
Now, the secret to AI video animation isn't prompts as most people think. It's frames. And what this means is that we define the first and the last frame of a video. And that gives us complete control. Now, all this means is that the AI decides what is the most natural way to transition from one image to another. But this unlocks a whole host of creative use cases that I don't think most people are using to their best ability.
Now, the easiest way to take a look at this is with some simple examples. Let's take a look at how we can create this incredible transition from day to night using midjourney and nano banana. Now, I like to use midjourney to create my images because I believe it still has the strongest aesthetic development of any AI image model. What we can do is take the beautiful images from Midjourney, then we can change them with nano banana, and then we can animate them all together.
So what I do is I've taken this scene that I created in Midjourney. I've uploaded into Nabana. I ask it to make this scene daytime. Now it comes up with this beautiful image. We can simply download it. Then we're going to come back into MidJourney. And I like to use MidJourneys animation because it has one of the best value animators out there. And all we have to do is select the starting frame by going to start frame. Upload the image that we want to start off with. Then you're going to go along to ending frame. You're going to unselect loop and we're going to upload our daytime image. And that's it. You can then select low or high motion and add in a prompt if you think it's necessary. This isn't always required, but I'm going to make sure we're going to have a static camera and make sure we have a time-lapse cuz that's essentially what it is. Now, with Mid Journey, you can have standard or high resolution. I go standard just so we can generate this a little bit more quickly. And then we go ahead and send it in.

You can download it today. Now, just take a look at this absolutely stunning time-lapse. I am pretty damn happy with that.
But let's take this a step further because it's not just one single night that we can create a time-lapse of. We can create time-lapse of entire seasons. So again, I started out generating an image in midjourney to set the style, the tone, and the direction. We took this, we pop into our dear friend Gemini, and then we ask it to change the scene to winter. And here we have beautifully crisp winter morning. And we can go ahead and animate that in exactly the same way. Use the first frame in autumn and the last frame in winter. Animate it. And look at this beautiful seasonlong time-lapse that really immerses us in the environment. It's wonderful for showcasing the passage of time in any narrative piece.
And of course, we can do this not just with the seasons, but we can also do it with the weather. So, you can really use the notion of pathetic fallacy, which is where the weather changes to symbolize some element of a story. So, you can have it suddenly change from sunny to stormy, perhaps to foreshadow some sort of impending event in your narrative. Just take a look at this example. Absolutely beautiful. Coming up, I'll show you some of the bugs that ruin 80% of these animations, and I'll show you the two-cond fix so that doesn't happen to you.
Now, let's look at some fantastic ways to shift from wide angles to close-ups. And this allows us to create wonderful transitions that are not possible with normal camera techniques. Here, we've gone from a wide-angle shot and we zoom straight up into a close-up. And the way it smoothly goes from these two shots is absolutely remarkable.
Now the way we do this is we leverage the power of character consistency in nano banana. So you can start off by creating a image in midjourney. Now often I like to use the explore tab in midjourney because there's such wonderful creations that others have made and you can simply use these as a starting point for your own work. So if we come into midjourney here we've got a lovely example here. You can start off clicking on this. Then you can copy the prompt simply by clicking it and then change the aspect ratio because we like to work in landscape and then generate it. And in just a few seconds we got our own beautiful version of this image. So I like this one best. I'm going to download it. And then we're going to come back into Gemini, upload that file, and we're going to ask Gemini to show us a wide-angle shot of this. Now all you have to say is something like wide angle contextual shot of this woman in a snowy park establishing shot. Send that in and we're going to get a beautiful scene setting composition.
Now you can simply come back into Mid Journey. Make sure you drag this image to be the first frame. Add our second one as the end frame. And tada. Now we can even take this a step further and develop this by creating a another sequence. So we can ask it to now zoom out to an aerial shot of her 200 m away. And what we're going to do now is we are going to use the final frame of the last sequence as the first frame of this sequence. And that means we can combine these clips to create an even longer piece of media. Now, there are a lot of fun tricks that we can play around with with the first and last frame. And I'm going to show you some fancy ones with loops later on. So stick around for those if you're curious.
Now, another fun application for this is to age characters. And we can simply take our image into Gemini and ask Gemini to please age this character to X amount of years. So I thought I will do it of myself. And this is how I look at the age of 75. Now what we can do with this is we can animate it again. And you can see before our eyes there's me aging through the decades. And it's a beautiful way to show the passage of time. Here is another example of a woman going through the exact same process.
But there are some other interesting character changing elements that we can try out. So, we can not just change their age, but we can also experiment with changing their outfits. Let's take this image from MidJourney, and we're going to ask Gemini to change this woman's outfit to a nun and the flower petals to black. Now, we can download this image and take a look at this. Beyond changing the character's outfits, how about we change the environment? So, the character stays the same, the outfit changes the same, but their entire scene changes behind them. So here I've taken this woman from Midjourney and I've asked for Gemini to showcase her in a completely different urban setting. This can be extremely useful for showcasing the changing attitudes that somebody has during a story.
Now a more subtle way to apply this is to work with character emotion. So we can really refine the facial expressions of our characters. Look at this. How I can get this character to go from happy to absolutely distraught. And we can maintain perfect character consistency with this by using nano banana to edit the facial expressions. Now one of the greatest challenges with working in AI image and AI video for the past few years has been character consistency and Na Banana completely revolutionizes that.
Now another fun transfer style that we can apply is taking one medium and turning into another. Look at this incredible transition from an illustrated style all the way through to realistic. And it's a pretty impressive effect. So all I do to get that to work is ask Gemini to make this illustration photo realistic. Keep the composition the same.
Now a couple of flaws with none of that I can help you overcome. Firstly is it often is not very good at starting with images. It is much better at editing images than it is at creating them. So I highly suggest taking images into Gemini to transition them. Secondly, if you are creating images, is it also extremely bad at creating them in the correct aspect ratios. So it's much better to give it the aspect ratio you're working with in an image and then ask it to edit that on top. The final one is that often it will simply be difficult with you. And there is a very simple fix to this and that's just tell it to try again. Here you can see that it would refuse to turn this image into a photorealistic interpretation. But after a number of rounds of convincing it that this is what I want, it finally does it.
Now, of course, we can also get a little bit more expansive with this. And here are a few ideas that you want to check out for pushing the boundaries of creativity with this method. And these are to transition from things that are much further apart. And you can really invent some very wild transitions. Here I've taken a image of a kitten and an image of a tiger and we animate between these two shots to show a real morphing between different animals.

Now let's take a look at how this tiger transformation turned out. Now one thing that is pretty fun to do is use the annotation technique inside of Gemini. Look at this. You can animate highly effective motion graphics using some complex systems. So we can take an image and then we can ask Gemini to annotate this correctly. Now the cool thing is is that it will design an entire piece of graphic design and then you can animate between the two shots and it will give us a beautiful sense of animation.
Now, there are some interesting techniques in animating in this method that allows us to create some other effects that are extremely useful. And one of those is animate in. And this is incredibly easy to do because all you have to do is start off with the first frame as something that's completely blank. So, you can put in a blank frame and then you can animate exactly on board exactly what you want. So, you can finish it up with a logo or a graph, whatever you find appropriate. Now, this can be great for motion graphics, for websites, for logos, and a whole host of different situations.
So, let's try this with a button animation. So, this could be very useful for any type of UI app design. So, you can simply start off with a blank blank frame and then finish with a button and animate that. Now, here's another trick that's particularly useful with this technique, and that's to loop these. And we can loop these simply by playing them in reverse and matching them together. So we take this video, we then play it in reverse at the end, and it takes us back to the blank empty square, which is obviously the first frame of the first video. But we can use this for a few different interesting techniques. Here are a couple that I've been working on.
This one is showcasing the possibility of doing it with text. So you can see here I can have it for AI Samson appear. So, as you noticed at the beginning of this video, I introduced myself with AI Samson and the bottom third. This was a animation that I created entirely with AI and it's a lovely way to apply real motion graphics into usable projects. So, to create these lower third animation, what I did was use this prompt inside of Gemini. I found that Gemini works best with text. So, it's useful to go straight into Gemini to create it. Now you can change out the different adjectives and add in your own text and then you can go through an iterative process to develop the options that you like. Now I ended up adding in a image as a reference to get a style that I wanted. Now you notice we have a green background here and that means we can key it out later in our editing software. That means we simply remove all the color that is of a certain shade and green works best.
Now, you might notice that, of course, we get a watermark inside of Gemini. And one of the easiest ways to get rid of this is in fact in Midourney, and we can use the edit tool. So, all you have to do is upload your image. Make sure you have erase selected. And then all you're going to do is paint over the area of the image that you would like to remove. So, here I removed the watermark. Then, we're going to add in our prompt. Now you can simply put something in that will cover the space that you are removing. So I'll just put in green background. Now you notice I've only eliminated this area and I can go ahead and submit the edit. Now we'll get four versions of this out. And as you can see we have four versions that have clearly removed the watermark which makes our lives a lot easier.
Now we can go ahead and animate these. You can download your image then go to create. And the trick here is that we start off with a green screen. So a landscape image which is entirely green. We then add in our ending frame which is our caption and we can go ahead and animate. Now the process of getting this to appear in our video is very simple. All we have to do is use the ultra key to key out the green screen. So you can see here I've used the eyropper to select all of the green parts which are now removed. And that even gives us a lovely transparency between the caption and our backgrounds. Now, you can play around a little bit with the blending modes if you're not getting perfect keying. See how I've added in lighten. You can see here that if I use normal, we start to still get a little bit of the green glow come through. So, I found that lighten was the best mode there.
Now, another way that I use this with my own videos is also to apply it with icons like these. So whenever I'm talking, I created these icons entirely with midjourney and then have them animate in and animate out. So I can have some nice useful visual expressions of what I'm talking about animate in all the time. Now, another useful trick here that I used with the icons is I created an icon set entirely in line with my brand. And to do this, I used the mood boards feature inside of MidJourney. And what this allows you to do is allows you to create entirely consistent sets of images. And this is essential if you're working with a brand or if you're trying to create a long narrative piece of media. Now, you can explore different styles inside of Midjourney in the explore and then go to the styles tab. So, if you are looking to create multiple images in the same vein, this is a great way to work together with it. and you can find all of these different styles and all you have to do to use them is just go to try style and then it will be added into your prompt.
Now another way to use this is with arrows. Boom. These are a kind of animation that I like to use to draw attention to elements in my videos and you can again make really beautiful creative arrow animations. Now another highly creative way to apply this into real use cases is with graphs. So if I'm telling you about an interesting statistic, I can have it animate on screen. Now what's great about this is you can simply find any graph on the internet and animate it. So I think this is a simply stunning and sensational graphical representation of data. It's absolutely beautiful.
Now another way to use this is in with your own logos. So you can have these subtle animations that loop over and over again of your logos. You can have it animate in and animate out. Now you could also just have it static. So you can have loops that are continuously the same. So that means that you use the first frame and the last frame exactly the same. And this also gives us some creative possibilities. For example, uh website backgrounds that loop over and over again and they just add a a sense of motion or atmosphere to your work.
Now, one technique that came from the world of photography even before AI is something called cinemagraphs. And we can create these with AI very beautifully. And you can see here that what they do is they use elements inside of a shot that are animated whilst keeping a lot of the shots still. And this allows you to create some beautiful cinematic and almost uh this wonderful cross between still image and video. Now, these can be great for creating your own lowfi style backgrounds.
Now, you might often watch videos on YouTube when you are working. I love to have this background ambience and it has these videos that getting millions of views and they have these simple lowfi animations and you can create some really simple fun animations in Midourney of just this style. So I used this image from Midjourney, created a loop and then used the simple prompt lowfi animation static camera cinemagraph to get this beautiful useful video.
Now another way that you might want to use this in your own work is to create loops of yourself. So this can be great as B-roll if you're creating your own videos. So I took an image of myself and turned it into this loop of me laughing and working. And what's great is that you can play it over and over again.
Now, one of my favorite examples of this is creating these seamless zooming videos of motion. So, you can see here we have this cyclist racing down the hill. And it's beautiful because it just plays over and over again, but it's only if you pay a lot of attention that you can see that this is a repeating video. Now, this can be great for music videos. You can see here there's a fun one that I've created of a cyclist of a motorcyclist in a surreal psychedelic valley.
Now, let's take a look at another technique where we can take a clip, we can extend it, and then we can loop it. In this way, we can get much longer looping animations because if it's only 5 seconds long, the danger here is that you can recognize that it's going round and round fairly quickly. But if we extend this to 10, 20, or even 40 seconds and then loop it, it's much harder to recognize that we're using a loop. So to do this, we actually use the extend method.
Now, we start off simply by animating any image that we have. So I'm going to animate one of these firsterson views of a man riding a horse. And you can simply go to animate image, and we'll do a high motion. Then once you get out an animation from this, you can simply go ahead and do extend auto. And then once we have that video out like this, all we have to do is go ahead and use extend manual. So take the video, go to extend manual, which you can find here in the toolbar. And now the key here is to add the ending frame. And what that needs to be is the very first frame that we started out with. And you can even simply find it in your feed and drag it into the end frame. Now we can get that out. And the great thing about this is now we can get much longer looping videos. And one of the key advantages of this is certainly if we're using it in video backgrounds. So if you're creating any type of meditation or loi style channel, these are absolutely fabulous.
But another creative application of this is creating walking loops. So you can have characters walking across the screen and continuously moving forwards without you being able to see the split in the clips. You can see here there has been a little bit of morphing as he gets three legs. But you can simply regenerate this and it usually works better after you've given it a couple of goes.
Now another interesting use case for this is demonstrating products. So here you can have a repeating revolving image of a product that is showcased from every angle and this is great for e-commerce sites or for advertising and marketing. Now another use case for this is music visualization and voice visualizers and having these continuous loops.
Frames are the secret to complete control in AI video and they allow us to understand exactly how we're going to animate our scenes. Now using the beautiful aesthetic intent of midjourney, we're able to define incredible scenes. Now we can take that and intimately assess and adapt them using Nano Banana. Now Google Nano Banana has such excellent ability to maintain composition, setting, scene, and characters that we're able to make acute changes to our shots. And using this powerful workflow, we unlock a whole host of real business use cases that were never before possible.
Now remember, the key here is using Midjourney strengths of taste and beauty, of using Nanor Nano's unique abilities to adapt small parts of a scene whilst maintaining consistency across everything else, and of course leveraging frames in AI video to define the start and end of our shots. These possibilities give us a whole host of opportunities for advanced and accurate animations, allowing us to apply this type of video across advertising, marketing, web design, animation, visual storytelling, art, and so much more.
