Most people think Hulk refused to fight Thanos in Infinity War because he was scared.
Come out. Come out. Come out. [screaming and groaning]
But the truth, it's much deeper than that. Back in Age of Ultron, when Wanda messed with Hulk's mind, she didn't just scare him, she broke him. She showed him his biggest [music] fear, losing himself completely, letting Banner take over and disappearing forever.
After that, Hulk left Earth not in anger, but in pain. He realized that no one truly cared about him. They [music] loved his power, his strength, his ability to save the day, but not the person inside the monster. Every time the world needed help, [music] they called for Hulk. But when things were calm, they wanted Bruce or anyone else, just not him.
So, when Infinity War came and Thanos [music] destroyed him, Hulk saw the truth. He was never treated like family, only like a weapon. And when Banner begged him to come out again, Hulk said no. Not because he was scared, but because his heart was broken. Because [music] deep down, Hulk didn't want to fight.
