Baidu Just Released A Free AI That Reads An Entire Document In One Pass — Not Page By Page

This small AI from China just embarrassed the most expensive American tools, and the crazy part is that it's free for anyone to use.

A company called Baidu, often called the Google of China, just released a tiny AI called Unlimited OCR. OCR is the technology that lets AI read scanned documents and PDFs, but most OCR tools can only process one page at a time. They read each page separately and then try to stitch the whole document back together, which is why they often mess up tables, formatting, or even the order of the pages.

And that's exactly the problem Unlimited OCR is solving. It reads dozens of pages in a single pass, keeping everything exactly where it belongs, like headings, tables, etc., and it's small enough to run on a regular laptop. But despite its size, it's already outperforming bigger and most expensive tools at reading documents.

And the crazy part is that it runs entirely on your own computer, not on someone else's server. So, if you're feeding it a contract, a medical report, or a financial document, none of that information ever leaves your machine.

So, while American companies often charge you to read your own documents with AI, China just gave the same kind of tool away for free and made it small enough to run on almost anything. So, tell me, would you trust an AI tool more knowing your documents never actually leave your own computer? Let me know in the comments.
