Thanks to the Royal Press Club of Queensland for allowing me to publicly launch The Great Australian Charity Cattle Drive, which will be driving 2,000 head of steers along stock routes from Longreach to Roma, starting in May 2025 – that's a year from now.
This cattle drive is a Beef Bank charity initiative to raise awareness about food insecurity in Queensland and across our nation, and raise funds to support those in need.
I would like to publicly thank our foundation cattle partners: Stockplace Marketing – Luke Armitage is here today, sorry, Westaway, sorry Luke; The McDonald's Holdings and the whole McDonald family for their support; and Australian Country Choice – Anthony Lee, thank you Anthony and your family for your supporting this great initiative.
We see this as an opportunity for our beef industry to give back to those less fortunate than us. Please take a moment to read and complete the postcard on your table, as we are seeking your support, and leave it on your table, and our committee will collect and follow up.
