I'm not going to lie I thought this was
absolutely it was genius because I
doubted the decision that moresa made
but he made a decision and it won them
the game in this video this is what
we're going to do 43 so we're going to
go through all the goals there's some
nice tactical moments but also I think
there's something within the teams and
the setups that I think Pastor gogl got
wrong I thought there was a decision in
game he could have made and changed
maybe there's something I don't know
when it comes to that but something felt
arai and it felt so obvious to me and
then we'll talk about the that moresa
made at halime which absolutely changed
this game and allowed them to yeah
double down on probably a belief that he
had that they're better than Tottenham
so they just needed to get themselves to
really really control the game and they
did so let's get into the game because I
thought it was interesting now on paper
it was one where you thought it was a
sort of backf for Chelsea but actually
it was very different kaiso was often
stepping in here and we kind of saw this
in the Villa game and it was a back
three really and then you had a bit of
an elbow Midfield where you had that
double pivot but then Fernandez just off
to him here and Palmer kind of working
these Waters happy to step into that
Central attacking Midfield moment uh
position at different times but because
as you do with the Mesa side you have
the width of sancho and Netto or whoever
those two Wingers are there'll always be
those half spaces and it was these half
spaces that they got so much joy
throughout the game and we'll come back
to this because having these three was
something that was really really
interesting but at the same time there
was one weakness that Tottenham
exploited or were exploiting and it was
something that moresa wanted to get rid
of to allow for that little bit more
control let's go through the goals
because obviously totenham scored three
goals in this game they can't be losing
games when you score three goals you
just can't by the way just to say we're
trying to get ourselves to 10K on Jor FC
we do Twitter spaces that Twitter space
then goes on the jaffan podcast feed as
well so you can enjoy what's really
highend chat because I've always known
that my audience knows a lot more than I
do and it's a great opportunity for you
guys to get involved and be a bigger
part of this community which I'm so is
so important to me so please do get
involved with our Twitter links in the
description Jore FC also there's a more
James orot Channel similar idea just a
place where I can talk to you a little
bit more uh we've had over 100,000 views
in the first week which is insane to me
but hopefully it's a place where me and
you can have a better conversation
speaking of which let's get into it
first goal sanki is the main man here
and I think the credit where it's due in
terms of the work rate that he puts in
in terms of Kara slipping now obviously
he doesn't that's got nothing to do with
him there but the starting point of it
is salanki putting that pressure on
which leads to kukara you know
struggling and slipping and then they're
on their way but as we move on in terms
of him in this goal the one thing I did
want to focus on was the movement of him
because I thought it was really really
good in terms of connection with Brennan
Johnson in terms of when the the cross
comes in and when you make your movement
and how you can kind of control that
situation and he did that by sort of
peeling off to behind Levi CW but also
he had to be absolutely spoton when he
made that dart back across and I thought
he did it absolutely fantastically did
exactly that made that movement got the
finish on target as well but timed it
really really well with Brenan Johnson
so great start for Tottenham all looking
good and I think the three at the back
that we were talking about let's have a
look at it tactically this was this was
something that allowed for some
opportunities when it came to Chelsea
but again overall I think the thing that
you've got to say is despite you know
three at the back a bit of a new system
in terms of stepping in the Press wasn't
that strong so for them to be two up
again it was down to this boy Kara
slipping over again carago went after
him hard rightly so wrongly so you know
is it just one of those things let me
know how you're feeling Chelsea F about
that one but of course he slips again
and again this was great Mo it was a
great moment of K koseski one thing I
say about koseski it does feel like it's
the onus was on him to create a lot of
the time Tottenham had some massive
chances in this game should have had it
out of sight by halim and if you don't
take those chances you know you you're
GNA pay at some point what was really
great about the second goal I thought
was the movement of koseski and his
understanding of where to be and so
again C alert slips but most goals it's
more than one mistake it's offered a bit
of Brilliance as well and you can see
him here koseski has that look oh and he
sees there's now that bit of space that
moment to kind of really hurt the
opposition and what he wants to do is he
wants to get here he wants to get to
this line here so he then has room to to
move and that's exactly what he does he
makes it really difficult and that being
on this line and being comfortable then
sort of Wiggle in your way
through is something that Baya Saka does
brilliantly koseski in this instant does
fantastically as well and as we move it
on you see he does he gets into that
position there in that little half space
between these two lines and it's you
know cooker at this point is all at C
and you've got a good run you got good
forward Runners here but c um KES is on
his way knows what he's going to do gets
on the ball and then he starts to make
his makes make his way let's give it a
little wiggle once
more it doesn't do that much I think
look it's one of those ones that chest
probably be annoyed about the goal but I
think it's one where you're a little bit
unlucky at the same time and actually we
got to give some credit to koseski as
well we've done a whole video about how
he is the one of well he is the most
unique player in the Premier League in
my opinion and he's having an amazing
season gets the shot off gets the goal
there and you're thinking come on you've
got to work a little bit hard on that
and I think the one thing I would say is
Lavia could maybe have got across a
little bit quicker because you know that
he's kind of you're out an out 10 let Co
Palmer deal with anyone who's who's on
his way there can you go over there and
help and affect it a little bit more and
get him away from goal wasn't able to do
that but I think the important thing to
say here as well is he's able to put it
through his legs so that's a bit of like
Brilliance from kisi but also you know
it's disappointing stuff um I think from
Chelsea's point of view but Chelsea yet
you know they were two-nil down they
were giving away chances at times but
they were good you know they were they
were good throughout and the way they
were able to work
through this opposition regularly was
really really impressive and to go back
to the tactics board what I really liked
was by having kaiso in here what you
were able to have was the ability to
break through that first line of
pressure now if you think about the way
that Tottenham were looking to press
Johnson looking to get that cooker a
sank trying to work Co Sanchez and then
you've got Lavia and kaiso stepping in
here these two are so comfortable that
if koseski and sa were tight they were
able to and did regularly to work
through that pressure really quickly or
Co would work round karea would work
round the ball would get here and he'd
be able to zip it through this line into
kaiso but having these two in here they
are just going to get better and better
and better these two and in certain
games and I think look if you're not
two- n down the way transpired I think
you would have comfortably won the game
because once you were out of it there
was a real problem because basuma was
concerned with Palmer a lot of the time
and so because he's concerned about that
that then leaves this gargantuan Gap
firstly here but also this channel here
that Enzo Fernandez because he's just a
little bit tighter to the other two
you're able to get through that first
line of pressure really really well and
they did that throughout the game and
the goal kind of comes from a similar
moment in terms of working your way up
the pitch which I think Chelsea have got
better and better I said at the start of
the season this team could finish second
and I got laughed at and I understand
that but I you know I back it because I
I think it's a really well coached team
with players that are technically at a
really really really high level terms of
that back line this is a great example
of it in terms of comfortable players in
ciso stepping into this this area here
which of course that's what you know
what he's known for right but it allows
that when we talk about that press s
keski he comes and gets it really really
comfortable in how he does that pops it
off to coell and then CO's able to play
it through that line of pressure really
really comfortably as you can see
they're looking to press but they're not
getting there close quickly enough and
SAR all of a sudden is kind of redundant
koseski is getting completely taken out
of the game and it was really really
easy and this happened time and time
again you know to go back to what we
were saying there you can really see the
line there that those two then you've
got that little elbow there you've got
Palmer here basuma dealing with him and
then this just gargant amount of space
and also by having that Winger high and
wide you've got your pass there as well
and this happened so many times and Enzo
fernandz of huge credit because he's
really making this role his own also got
someone like Jackson who's going to keep
stretching that back line as well well
so once again it leads this massive
massive massive massive massive area of
space and also kind of a nice little
line for someone like Sancho to step
into more on that in a second and on
this instance there's actually one where
Enzo kept going Jackson made that move
out wide no one's ever really standing
still if he'd been a bit more aware he
might have been pay out here and they
would have been absolutely in instead he
plays the ball there but he did
underlapping runs he did overlapping
runs he did absolutely everything but it
wasn't constant ease with this new setup
there was one problem the pressing
trigger the pressing trigger was bad
aile really clearly and also I think
when you're thinking about a weakness
within this Chelsea team Sanchez as well
if you got Sanchez and bad a who's a
left badile sorry who's a left footed
player then you're gonna have moments
like this there'll be good moments but
there'll be bad moments as well so one
is this where pass has been played to
him and then he's just first time tried
to sort of kick it like the body shape's
wrong he's not comfortable he's playing
it first time because he's nervous he's
using his left foot instead of his right
foot instead of taking a touch and just
playing it inside he was really really
awkward on that right hand side we'll
come back to that but there were good
moments with it as well because
sometimes when you could get a little
bit tighter he could play into that
first line of pressure you got these two
here like we were talking about and then
as we spoken about Enzo just sneaking
off to that left hand side and as we let
this play on you can see first of all
Lavia good God he's good little pass but
it's a short pass into kaiso through
that first line of pressure and then
then they're away they're into that
second area and Tottenham had no answer
for it basuma struggling all at Sea so
much space for Enzo and they're on their
way and when we get to the goal it was
kind of a similar thing on this occasion
it was one where I think he started to
underlap but so many moments where he
got to this area of it and so they were
able to work through sometimes but at
the same time B Shield was kind of
uncomfortable a lot of the time and it
was a game that was just so open in that
first half moresa wanted to changed that
wanted to get far more control of course
he did get the goal and it came from a
similar moment Enzo Fernandez working
that channel working really hard and
taking players away now there is a
Tottenham player who should hang his
head and shame after after this goal and
I'll show you exactly what I mean by it
because of course sanchz scores a
fantastic goal but it's about
understanding the different half spaces
and affecting the players that are there
so you've got Enzo Fernandez here you
got Sancho there Enzo wants to make um
Sancho wants to make that move inside
and that's why this run deserves so much
credit because it takes this player away
and it creates so much space for Sancho
as you can see the defender taken away
by Enzo Fernandez it leaves that lovely
space right here for him to drive into
and look it's a great great goal
cracking goal but that space isn't
created if if Enzo doesn't make that run
and he is really really starting to find
his feet and affecting game scoring
goals absolutely crucial for them the
person needs to hang their head in shame
it's Puma that is an absolute disgrace
let me show you a different angle of it
that makes it look even worse in terms
of the idea of get across and make a
block get across and make a block we go
back to the start of this whole goal as
we said previously really struggled with
Palmer and he was getting dragged across
and so then Anto Fernandez has so much
space but once that moment happens and
even SARS looking at Palmer that's all
they were concerned with and shows what
the ripple effect of Palmer sorry for
the promo but once that happens you've
got to work harder you've got to get
here because you're the defensive
midfielder get get into that area and
and help your team out because people
are going to get dragged in different
positions but he doesn't do that he
doesn't work hard enough he really
really
doesn't you can see here initially
getting Dragged In and you've got to be
able to make that you've got to put that
work in the space is just it's gonna
kill them time and again if they don't
get control of
games and once you do get there what is
that what is that you know trying to win
a game that's not a block that's not
even near a block so let's talk about
that change at halim that I really think
changed everything as we' speaking about
badish Shield was that pressing Trigger
he did not look comfortable so the
change that was made was to control the
game that little bit better better to
have a bit more um press proof confident
players but also to put a player in a
really interesting position in
possession so in terms of the change
guste came on Lavia who had been
fantastic went off but what it meant was
kaisa could come into Midfield
wholeheartedly bad Shield could go over
to this left side where was far more
comfortable far for far more comfortable
and Fernandez stepped in here and the
control kind of went through the roof it
really did go through the roof but in
terms of that ability to get through
that first line of the press first of
all that problem with gusto kind of went
away secondly bad Shield had a calmer
pass to play in Fernandez did step in
and get involved that little bit more
cedo the same thing in terms of instead
of having that extra player here and
sometimes all three of them being on
each other's toes it was about
controlling the game just that little
bit more and so kukara coming into that
left back spot what actually happened
was he ended up once they had the ball
and had control
bad sheld stepped into here a very
comfortable position for him where he
could just play Simple calm passes
kukara happy in these areas as well if
he needed to get on the ball at times or
here depending on the situation but
Fernandez starting to dictate that
little bit more and kukara consistently
just going and having a bit of fun
playing as a 10 but it wasn't about him
getting on the ball too much it was
about him being neat and tidy and
allowing the team to push Tottenham back
further and further back can't be ask CH
Romero you know he came off and by
pushing them back he started to control
the game by controlling the game then it
could lead to mistakes and that's
exactly what happened C care stepping up
here Fernandez controlling the game The
Defenders and yes there were
substitutions all over the pitch of
course there was but they were getting
dragged back so much more so much more
and it made life really really difficult
and it was interesting to see him in
this area here because initially when he
came on I thought hang on a minute
Fernandez is getting so much joy there
why would you do that but what he did
was he didn't he didn't take away the
license for Fernandez to get into the
box and affect the game he was really
really positive in his in his orders for
the team in terms of Mesa because cedo
did a similar thing because if you think
about it the two players in the double
pivot Fernandez scored the scored the
third kaedo won the penalty for the
second so kukara actually started just
to become a bit of a decoy or someone
that you could allow yourself to suck in
the opposition and get them to play
narrower and narrower to get yourself
overloads a quick little pass here
whereas
previously previously kukar would have
been here and so that sort of pass along
it was slightly more of a dead end so
Chelsea slowly started in my opinion to
suffocate this Tottenham side and it
absolutely paid dividends and it was
about control it was one of those games
where it was about control and that's
why one thing I can't get my head around
tell me what you think Toton fans why
was Madison not involved why did they
not go we're going to keep the ball
we're at home we're going to take the
initiative why don't you come and get it
off us and have someone like Madison on
the
pitch and you can keep SAR on maybe I
mean maybe probably needed to keep
basuma on so he might have had to take
SAR on so he didn't want to lose those
legs but you had no control no control
and you were so easily bypassed in that
first moment of buildup as we've spoken
about that it just didn't work and I
felt like you really really needed him
on the pit
and the goals like first of all let's
see if I can find it after this but like
these are just some great moments like
here look just chilling in there and he
was never really going to get on the
ball um but we'll come back to a similar
situation here again playing in this
area here Enzo Fernandez able to drop
deep spray passes around and there was
no problem with the Press they weren't
afraid of the press but what you did
need to do is suck other players into
position so essentially was a little bit
of a decoy you never expecting him to
score a goal though he was getting in
positions that he might have done it and
that would have been a you know ragster
Rich's story and for the goals great
examples of everything we've just spoken
about first of all kaiso don't you don't
have to sit back it's not about us just
being a double pivot and sitting there
go be positive that's exactly what he
did and basuma here you know within a
couple of seconds I mean it's just it's
just bad it's just bad and and you see
from a different angle that he's
actually kind of here and to be fair to
him he's trying to kind of read it and
he thinks that he can get there but it's
just so dangerous and I guess they're
both going at PACE but it's a bad
decision such a bad decision such such
such a bad decision and then the third
goal talk about Kara there he is same
thing stepping into an area that you
wouldn't expect him to and the
Brilliance of this is there's two bits
first of all C Palmer the guy's a joke
guys a joke C Palmer goes from
here to well let's work our way through
shall we so here all the way to here and
look at the Players he brings and and
drags in
but if we take a step back a little bit
what's important here as well is kukara
because kukara takes players with him
takes Defenders with him so as you move
along this player here I think it's
verer he goes with cooka so and although
there's y there's a bit of luck that
allows it to drop here one as I say
those two double pivots they're not
afraid to get forward that's mesa's
orders which is great to go and win the
game but also when having Kara there and
having Vera dragged out of position
you've actually got two players free
here one two and so when the ball drops
because you've sucked in all these
players firstly with Palmer's Brilliance
but kukara as well it drops and you get
your rewards really it's one of those
ones where you get the rewards
OFA because of smart movement of
displacing the opposition suffocating
them a little bit and dragging them into
sort of narrow areas as well to allow
for spaces in areas that you you want to
be in and to stop them from having those
opportunities as well the final goal by
the way this is absolutely disgusting um
the penalty the panenka right do you
know what's so brutal about this he does
it and by the time it before it's even
touched the net fras of forer is able to
get up and look at it check this out
that's
brutal that is that's tough that's a
tough watch he's literally watching the
ball go in
Madness crazy Kama is a
joke final goal for Tottenham kind of
goes back to that point of Madison and
why was he not involved you bring him on
and he you know he dictates games he can
create chances and this is kind of what
I don't understand with po goo is that
this is your philosophy isn't it to go
and win and and and be assertive so I
found it odd that you wouldn't get
Madison in there because you're worried
about maybe legs or something when he
comes on yes it's the last minute but to
go from
here to here and to pick out the pass
it's a quality that allows you to
control the game that little bit more so
I thought moresa won this one big time I
look injuries and difficulties I get
that but he made the right decision and
not the obvious decision and it gave
Chelsea the victory here and for
Tottenham I think P goloo I don't know
why Madison didn't play let me know if
I've got something wrong here also on
the mo James Ott Channel we've got a
whole video talking about Tottenham fans
and the sort of the feeling around the
club and the ownership and things like
that go check that out if you get a
chance there's a video on kisi and we've
got a video on how good Mesker is if you
want a little bit more detail it's all
there for you enjoy
