Friends, gold investors are very worried. Gold has given a return of -2% in the last week on a weekly basis. It is more than 2% and more than -2 2%. But if we look at gold's recent movement, it has broken down by almost 8% from its level of $398, and investors have been greatly shocked. It has taken support around $4000. Although it recovered, it is in the negative on a weekly basis. It had fallen last week too, but it was in the positive on a weekly basis. Therefore, this week, investors have been more shocked because many investors are stuck at upper levels.
Now, in such a situation, the question is, what will happen to gold next? Is gold being impacted by planetary influences in any way? Next week, Mars and Mercury are coming together. Mars, Jupiter, and the Sun are the karakas (significators) of gold. Aries, Leo, and Capricorn are the karaka signs of gold. So, will the conjunction of Mars and Mercury affect gold?
Scripture states that when Mercury joins any planet, the elements related to that planet see an increase. This means if Mars is the karaka of gold, then gold should see an increase. If Mars is the karaka of copper, then copper should see an increase. In this video, we have analyzed only gold to see what can happen to gold due to the conjunction of Mars and Mercury.
What scripture says is one thing, and we will fully respect its definition. But does the conjunction of Mars and Mercury always bring an increase in gold? We have tried to understand this based on the analysis of the last 10 years. When has the conjunction of Mars and Mercury occurred since 2015, and what was its impact on the market? What was the return? Was it negative or positive? We will try to tell you this further in this video.
So, we will start the video here. From April 22, 2015, to May 27, 2015. This was the time when Mars and Mercury were in conjunction. Here, the return on gold was -1.45%, meaning approximately 1.5%. This period is around 33 days. From April 22 to May 27, it remained volatile. It did not fall much, nor did it rise much. But if we look at the end, from the beginning of this conjunction to the end, the total return comes to -1.45%, meaning a fall of around 1.5%. It was in the negative the last time this happened in 2015.
After this, it happened from March 28, 2017, to June 28, 2017. Now, Mercury is a fast-moving planet, and it completes a sign on average in about 27 to 21 days. But sometimes, what happens is that they are moving with Mars, and Mars is also changing signs, and Mercury is also changing signs. So, while moving together, what happened is that both planets remained together from March 28, 2017, to June 28, 2017, meaning the whole of April, the whole of May, and the whole of June. For almost three months, these two planets were together. When both these planets were together for three months, gold remained volatile. Its return was minus 1/2%, approximately 53. But it was not so much that it rose significantly or fell significantly. It remained flat, volatile. But it ended in the negative. We will consider this flat. We will consider a return of less than 1% as flat. We will not consider it negative.
After this, it happened from September 5, 2017, to September 27, 2017. Again, it became a period of about 22 days. It stays for about 22 days. So, when this conjunction formed, its return was -5.66.7%. So, again, the return came in the negative. Then, from June 2, to August 9, 2019, this conjunction formed in Gemini and Cancer. It happened similarly. Meaning the whole of June, the whole of July, and 9 days of August. It lasted for about 2.5 months. They kept moving together. First, it formed in Gemini, then in Cancer. Now, Gemini is Mercury's own sign. In Cancer, Mars becomes debilitated. Here, the return on gold was tremendous. It gave a return of 14.5% in these two and a quarter months. In two and a quarter months, gold. This is the highest return from the historical conjunction of Mars and Mercury that I have studied in the last 10 years.
Again, this conjunction occurred from August 9 to August 26, 2021. Its return was 1.82%. It was positive by approximately 2%. So, in all the conjunctions we have seen in this video, historical ones, whether you consider 2015, 2019, or 2021, broadly, the net conclusion is that it does not become significantly negative. The chances of going positive are higher. It did become negative once, but the chances of going positive are higher. We will consider -5% as flat. Once it was around minus 5%, but there was also a rise of around 14%. There was also a rise of around 2% the second time.
So, what should we consider here? The market can remain volatile, but it will end on the positive side. This is until November 23. This conjunction will start from October 27 and will continue until November 23. So, in terms of gold's return, for those who want to keep this in mind for a little bit of speculation, how will gold's return be in this period of one month? Broadly, it seems it will be a bit volatile. It can also remain flat in volatility. It can rise by half a percent. Beyond this, according to historical references, nothing more is visible.
