Okay. Hello everyone and welcome to For the Girls with Becca Moore. I am so excited for this episode. Brooke Abick came back on. I think I don't even have to give you guys an intro on her. Everyone knows who Brooke is. Um, I'm so excited that she came back on this week. We gave rapid fire advice and I'm so excited for you guys to hear it.

Um, she actually just left my house. I just wanted to give you like a life update. So, I'm going to Ohio next week and I want to be very present and focused like on spending time with my family because I don't get I get to like spend time with kind of like a lot of my family only like once a year. And so, a couple weeks ago, my team and I decided to take a two week break off of my podcast. Um, I just think that I need, first of all, I need a summer break, but also a couple like logistical things are changing with my podcast. So, and it won't affect anything. It won't affect the format of this podcast. It won't affect anything I talk about. It won't affect you guys at all. You won't even notice. But, um, yeah, some random things are changing BTS and I just need a break. So, I'm I'm taking a little summer vacay. I'm not going on hiatus. I am coming back. Swear to God, I will be back in two weeks. I just had to let you guys know. I know it sucks. I know when you like are into a podcast and you I mean I'm hoping that you guys are into this podcast. If you're just here for Brooke, I I totally get it, too. Same. I feel you. Um, you can just skip a few minutes ahead. But I hate when like you're waiting for a new episode from your favorite podcast and it like doesn't come out that week randomly. That's how I feel about a little bit like Kristen Cavalari's podcast. I love her. And um, Ginger Duggar's podcast. I'm really interested in their mindset. like the Duggar family. So, I'm like avid listeners to both those podcasts is so random. Um, I have a wide range of interests as you can tell.

Um, and other life updates. Oh, I have been doing table reads for this project. I talked about that like a couple months ago that there was a project I was doing a table read for. We did another table read for that project and I was so honored to be asked back. only one other girl from the original table read was asked to come back and then we are doing a live table read of this project um in a couple weeks. So, we've been rehearsing for that in the meantime and I've gotten to spend one-on-one time with the writer of this project. um this weekend, like Saturday and Sunday, we spent time alone to like flesh out the character and um put her into my voice, like the way I deliver things, which I'm so honored that she's like making adjustments to the script based off of me. I'm not going to like I can't talk about anything plotwise, but I will just say this character is like so I'm so attached to this character and I really think she's so funny and awesome. Um, and I'm so honored to be part of this project. It's just cool to like be doing things that you actually are passionate about and to be working on something with someone that has spent so much time on this project and it's like every like she's been spending years on this and I'm so happy to get that she's trusting me to work on it with her and um, I'm just so excited. So yeah, we're doing a live table read which I've never done before which will be cool and yeah. So acting is going great. I'm still in my classes. I've also just been spending time with people who are inspiring me to like chase things more and I feel like I'm just like so career oriented right now. Like I'm in a good place in that sense. I'm feeling like powerful and I'm feeling like I can take on some hard things. So I'm just excited to see what the future holds. And yeah, I feel like I'm pretty career-minded right now. I'm trying to think of other things that have happened.

Oh yeah. I'm so excited to have Brooke on today. I feel like me and Brooke have been getting to spend a lot more time together lately and as I do, I'm like she just is so inspiring to me. She's so she's like focused on a goal and she's been doing it and she is like having so much so much success and she's so smart and being around her is inspiring to me and I tell her in this episode but I love her advice and I feel like she's just so present and with it that I do like trust her opinion over a lot of other people's opinions on random things in my life. We met I think it was like three years ago and then over time like our friend groups kind of like started merging and yeah getting to be her friend is so awesome. She's so great and like she does give good advice. She is it's so funny cuz she's like sometimes she'll be self self-deprecating and then you realize that she's like the smartest person in the room like at any given time. So it's like hilarious to me that she's so self-deprecating when it's like she's always to any advice question she's like I don't know. And I'm like yes you do Brooke. She's just I don't know. I love Brooke. I'm sure all of you guys love Brooke as well. Um, and I'm so happy she came on.

But yes, there is going to be a two week break from this podcast again. I am coming back. I'm coming back. Okay, I swear I just needed a break. So, yeah, we decided um I think two weeks ago that I will be taking a little time off and that will let me focus on being in Ohio with my family. I'm so excited to get to see them. Um, family time will be good for me, I think. So, I've been in LA for a while. Like, I haven't left LA for a second. I feel like, um, I'm excited. Like, I feel like going to Ohio right now feels like going on vacation. I'm like, woo. Um, the last time I was there though, I was going through a hard time, so I'm a little bit worried about how that will I wonder like being in the same area for when you're going through like a really hard time. I wonder like if that'll trigger that in me again. I hope not. Enjoy this episode with Brooke. You should go follow her and obviously I'm sure you guys already listen to her podcast, Brooke and Connor make a podcast. Um, and I love you guys. I'm so thankful for you guys. Thank you for all of your messages. Um, okay. If you aren't already subscribed, please subscribe. And yeah, I love you guys.

For the sake of us both being here. Everyone, you know Brooke Abick. I am with Brooke Avick today. This is your second time on For the Girls of Becca Moore. This is your first time on the set, though. Thank you for having me, Becca. >> Of course. >> This is my first time on the set. I'm obsessed with it. You're so talented. You have such an eye. >> It's not me. It's I hired someone. >> Okay. Well, you knew exactly what to tell them. It looks really good. >> Just like pink. Oh my god. Bear bear is like in your bag. >> He really smells the boys. >> I think he wants a friend. I think he wants a couple brothers. >> I really think you should get another cat. >> My boys like each other now. >> They do. How long did it take? >> Three. Just three to four months. >> Three to four. That's like a long Did you have to separate them from >> I separated them in the beginning. for like it wasn't long enough. It was like three or four days. And then Rob, the new cat, was just like sobbing in the other room non-stop and I felt like too horrible. And then he uh immediately made himself like way too at home. Like wouldn't let my other cat Yeah. the new one wouldn't let Jonathan, my older cat, in the bed anymore. And then that was like really tough. And >> it was just tough for a while. But they >> they like each other now. Yeah. They've started licking each other. >> I know. It's just I don't want to be like I was asking you about this at the Meg thing. I was like I don't want to be like a cat lady, you know? >> I think that was my fear too. And I think I am and I think it's fine. >> I think it's fine too. It's just like dating cuz I'm single. I feel like But why is that holding my I don't know. I like feel like it's baggage. I have like two >> It's I I don't think it is. >> You don't think? >> My only concern would be like the state of my apartment. >> I know. Cuz it's like it smells like cat no matter what you do. something my therapist did I tell you what my therapist said that really helped me when I had a guinea pig. >> I was like I'm nervous that I'm I don't know why I was nervous that I was going to bring a guy home as I had never brought a guy home to that apartment like in the 3 years of having it but I was like I'm nervous I'm going to bring a guy home and my apartment's going to smell like guinea pig and then she was like well you have a guinea pig. >> Yeah. >> And I was like wait that is just so simple and so healing. >> So it's like you have a cat. Like yeah why wouldn't your apartment like smell a little bit like a cat? Like it's not gross if you know like it's coming. >> Yeah, he's perfect. >> What happened to the guinea pig? You >> um she was rehomed to a girl who's like very good with guinea pigs. I was needing a pet for companionship, >> right? >> And we weren't Frankie the guinea pig and I weren't able to connect in that way. I loved her so much, but it just was not a match and it was a very sad time. But I think it was >> Did you have to like decision for the guinea pig like walk around? >> That was like I decided to let her free room cuz like I really was just like treating her like a cat because I think I just wanted a cat. >> Cat. Yeah. >> Um but I don't think that was what was best for her looking back. So she's in a in a good spot. She's a bunk bed now. >> You think it's such a Did you I used to have rats. >> Really? I Well, I wanted a rat originally. >> Really? >> Cuz I saw some on Instagram but they were so cute. My mom like influenced me to get her. I had two. >> They're so sweet, aren't they? >> Yeah. But now thinking about it, I was like nine, but like thinking about it now, I'm like I would like let them run on my shoulders behind my like neck and like their little tails were so long. >> The tail is the my only like hesitation with them. >> I know. It was weird. Like I don't By the way, I'm looking at you in the mirror. I don't know if you think I'm just like >> No, I can't see myself. But >> Oh, you can't? >> No, I can see you. I'm glad I can't see myself. >> I know. Every time I'm recording this, I like the entire time I'm like checking myself out. I'm like, do I look cute in that? But yeah, I did the smear on purpose. Okay. Anyway, you all know Brooke Albert. She is the host of the Brook and Connor. Is it that was it called? Brook. >> Yeah, Brooklyn and Connor make a podcast is what it's called. >> And then we were talking about you used to have a podcast called Obsessed. Yeah, that one. >> But then you stopped it. >> Yeah, I did. >> And I fear that I am on the verge of not really, but like I am taking two weeks off. If you were this far in the podcast, you know that already cuz I'm doing a intro. But how did you say like how do you say motivated in general? cuz now she's writing. >> I do not. >> So, it's been hard especially cuz I I'm writing this book. I'm writing a book and my deadline is August 15th. So, just like which is really coming up and I still have a pretty good bit to do and so it's hard to like focus on more than that right now. But hopefully once that's done I'll be back in like podcast mindset. But it's not easy to stay >> I know. Especially when like you don't have like a produced thing that you are like showing to the world. I feel like this is a little bit easier to say mode. I don't know how you're writing a book right now because >> this at least you have like a finish line every week, >> but a book it's like you don't have Well, I guess maybe if you have >> I was doing like self-imposed deadlines kind of. My editor really hasn't been very strict with them. Like she's so chill. So >> it was kind of just like yeah, whenever you're ready. And so I haven't really had like a very hard deadline until now, >> which is probably good for you, right? >> Which is good for me, but also I didn't realize how much I had left. >> Yeah. Well, okay, let's go back though. You have been writing a book. Actually, last time you were on this podcast, you were writing, too. >> Was I? >> Yeah. You were talking about it. >> Yeah. It's almost been a year, so that makes sense. >> How what do you think is the difference in your mindset on writing a book a year ago versus now? Like, did you learn anything? How do you feel about it now? >> Yeah, I learned a lot about writing, I think, and also just like very sappily like it was like a very healing process because the main girl in it has like very severe intimacy anxiety and I definitely have like not as severe as her but a form of that. And so kind of like writing her and like loving her >> has kind of helped me like learn to accept that part of myself. And also it's made me like want to tackle things more cuz I always want to tell her like just do it. >> A wait that's so sweet. That's like inspiring. You can just write yourself as I mean are you do you would you say that the character is based off of you? I would say definitely like loosely based, but she's not me. And I would say that there's a lot of key differences, >> but like a lot of it is loosely based off of stuff from my life. >> I think that we can all just like view ourselves as a main character and like try to like root for. It's like hard to do that when it's yourself. >> It's Yeah, it is like somewhat of a fanfiction for me. >> A little bit like a plot bad thing. >> Yeah. >> Can you tell us anything about the plot or No, >> I can tell you what it's about. Okay, tell us what it's about. >> Um, it's about this girl who has like very severe intimacy anxiety and her 30th birthday is coming up and she hasn't lost her virginity yet and so she's giving herself the 30 days before her birthday to do that >> and she gets really uh really intense about it. >> Okay, that's like an amazing plot already. Like I want to know what happens. >> Oh my god, thanks Becca. And there's uh she stumbles into a few different love interests. >> So, she has a month to lose her virginity. >> She's giving herself the month. Yeah. >> Okay. And then you said that you struggle with intimacy, um anxiety. Yeah. >> Do you think that is like romantic or physical or both? Um, I always thought it was just physical, but now that I think about it, I like I don't know what like me in a romantic relationship would like look like >> really, >> if that makes sense. Yeah, cuz I haven't been in a serious one. So, it's just like I might I've always thought like once I could get past like the physical stuff like everything else would come naturally. >> But I don't really I don't know. Now I'm starting to data. You don't know, >> right? >> Are we allowed to talk about the >> I love when you say data. >> Do you say data or what? >> No, I just like you just like say it >> like attached to a word. >> Yeah, I feel like Kelly says that a lot. >> Yeah, I think I got that. I think I like that. >> But okay, also context. Me and Brooke have gotten to have like a lot more time together in the past like few months. Like I feel like I've gotten to know you a lot better. So like some of the things like I want you to retell, but I don't I also have to ask you if you're allowed to tell. >> Oh yeah. >> Can we talk about the guy? Like we were at a bar and there was this guy that came up to our table and then you wanted to run. >> Um, >> we don't have to say who it was, but >> Yeah. >> or no, you don't want to. >> No, I would say yes. Just like you like losing a few key context clues of who the person was >> and the event. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> But yeah, there was a guy and I feel like he clearly like wanted your attention basically to give you guys context and like Brooke did not want anything to do with it even though you had kind of a crush on him, didn't you? Yeah, it was just like someone I had known and they had walked into this bar and I was like, "Uh, hello." Like freaking like freaking out to everyone and no one was really getting like how insane it was. And then he kept like getting closer and like hovering and I was like, I can't like I was like so panicked cuz that's just how I react. >> And then I excused myself to go to the bathroom and called my Uber. It's like totally like valid, but like our friend brought him up to you. >> Yeah, it was awesome. And then my friend, as I was exiting the Uber, there was a bit of an ambush with our friend bringing up this guy, which like I really appreciate him doing that cuz it was it like it gets to a point where it's like you just have to. But then in that moment, I was like, "Okay, like what would Phoebe do?" Who's the character in the book? And I really was kind of able to push through and and have, you know, that one-on-one conversation with him for 2 to three hours. >> See, you can do I feel like you you can do it. I think it's just that you don't put yourself in situations very often, which like >> Yeah, >> valid. Like, who wants to like date right now, honestly? Wait, can you talk I know you've told this story so many I've seen it on TikTok, but can you tell the story about the date or are you sick of of >> Oh, no. It's fine. I did get myself to go on a date, which like I've never wanted to do a dating app date. It just seems like the worst thing in the world to me. But I did end up doing that just I was having like a little bit of a like mini like oh I'm about to turn 29 crisis and had never been on a dating app date. >> So I was like I need to do that and it was just like the most uneventful thing that's ever happened to me in my life and I wish I had like more to say. >> Like didn't Okay. I thought it was funny that you wanted to I feel like also a first date. You kind of don't want to be like sober for that. Like I usually have a glass of wine before and then like a drink there. >> Oh yeah. I can't in the past like the only way I've really been able to connect with men is under the influence. >> Um like pretty heavily. >> Um and so we actually I met this guy at 7:00 p.m. for tea at a cafe. >> Yeah. He wanted he you thought that the story was that like you thought that you were getting a drink or >> I thought that like I could order a drink at this place cuz I checked the menu before and there was like cocktails. >> Yeah. >> And I was thinking like maybe he even would do that as well. But he ordered tea and then I panicked and I was like, "Oh yeah, >> you don't want to seem like the alcoholic on the day." >> Um and so yeah, just sat there drinking chamomile and it was like very job interview like >> Yeah. Um, and they're like was I can't stress this enough, no spark. And it was like so mutual. Like I could just tell >> like before you went like were you guys like doing banter on was it? >> No. So it was like really dry. >> It was really Yeah, it was like a few back and forths and then he was like, "Do you want to like get tea sometime?" Which I did think was a bit. And I was like, "He's so funny." Um, and then I was like, "Sure." And I liked that we hadn't talked because it didn't give me anything to like get nervous about cuz once I start to like think I know someone then I start to project and like make them a thing. So I liked that I didn't couldn't do that with him cuz I I couldn't even tell what he looked like. Like every single picture looked different. And even when I saw him at the uh cafe, I didn't I didn't know who he was until he like waved to me. >> Wait, was he hot or No, >> he was like cute enough to the point where it's like if we got along like that could work. But we we like there was nothing wrong with the conversation. It was just like so not like not >> But didn't you say that you sat there with him for like hours? >> We I was there for 2 hours and then eventually was like, "Well, it was really nice meeting you." And I would say I would have called that a positive experience if he had texted me and said like, "It was nice meeting you." But he never said anything. And I do think that it like falls on the guy to be like, "It was really nice meeting you, like get home safe, whatever." And he never said anything. And so I now look back at it being like, "That was a waste of time." >> I don't think it was a waste of time. >> No, I know. It was good to just get it over with. But >> I will say I don't know if >> And it was nice to know I could do it sober. >> Yeah, that's like in especially a first dating app date. Those are like never I've never been on one of those and been like, >> "Fuck it." Actually, one time I was in love with this man from San Francisco. We met on Raya. It it worked one time, but all of the other >> happened to him. >> He got a girlfriend. I miss him so much. >> Basically, like we He lived in San Francisco and then it was like hard long distance, but we dated for like >> Oh, wow. >> Yeah, he was awesome. So, don't get Are you on Raya? >> No, I can't get on. >> What? >> And I have like 48 referrals. >> Shut the [ __ ] up. >> They won't let me on. >> Okay. Good thing there's like no one good. That was like the only one good. Other than that, it's like all like hype B boys. Like hypey. Yeah, but I used to ask you if you liked girls at all, but you don't. Still >> not. Still still? No. But >> remember when there was someone in our lives that was convinced that you were a lesbian? Like full-blown. >> Everyone is convinced I'm a lesbian. >> No, because my anxieties. >> I do. Yeah. >> I don't think anxiety equal I think anxiety means that you like them even more. Like Right. I feel like I'm anxious around women like women that are my type. >> Yeah. I think I don't know. I don't know where it comes from. Like truly, there's no reason for me to be this way, but yeah, I don't feel anxious around women at all. >> You're probably, >> but it's like Yeah, I think people think the anxiety comes from like, oh, I shouldn't >> I don't like them. But I think it's coming from me like putting too much pressure on myself or God knows why. >> Did you have like boyfriends in high school or anything? Also, I think I've you've been asked this a billion times. I'm just like actually wondering right now. Did you >> I have no I had this one boy that I liked all of middle school and all of high school and I'm like such a monogamist that like crushes >> even with my crushes that like if I like someone it's like I can't even like try to have another crush. So, I really liked this one boy for like 8 years who just did not like me back and he was like a good friend of mine and he was really sweet but like always had a girlfriend and it was just like constant like he just and I would tell him like you I you know I'm I really I did think like twice I had to cuz it was like getting to a point where it's like I need to actually explain why I've been acting so psychotic like I need to explain why I'm bursting into tears every time like you tell me about a new girl And it was just like kind of like consistent rejection for so long that that that was tough. >> That might have been part of whatever's going on now. I don't know. But no, I never had a boyfriend then. I had a boyfriend and like a camp boyfriend growing up. >> And then in summer. >> Yeah. In summer. And then I've never had like a consistent >> like talking >> talking hookup. just more of a like one night like I was over served type of situations >> like where you're like flirt like do you hook up with him or no? >> Yeah, but like not in a way that I feel good about >> and not often. >> I feel like the more alcohol I have the more I like whoever I'm like in front like on a date. That's why I think it's good that you were sober on that cuz if you had a couple cocktails you might have been like actually this is like fine and then you might have like made out with him and then forgotten >> why. That's true. >> You don't like them while you're sober, you know, and then you it prolongs it. Yeah. >> Like that's the last person I dated. I feel like I just kept accidentally getting drunk and I was like that's fine. >> Yeah. Well, I will actually be need to do that moving forward though. Like the sober thing is not an option. >> I know. Honestly, like being sober on a date is like it just is not fun. >> I was It wasn't fun. >> I'm also in an era where I'm like I'm worried that I'm like drinking too much. I'm like I am going Why do I have so many random dinners? >> Yeah. >> I'm like tired. No, I get that. I really >> But you have good boundaries with it. You're like >> I don't enjoy drinking. I only drink when usually like if it's an event, I'll have like a glass of wine or on the weekends if I need to socially like loop up. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. But I I like weed more. >> Well, our friend group is just like freaking god. It's like every Speaking of Wait, I wanted to prank call Channing and Tristan. >> Do you think they're working? >> Trish is at work. Let me track Channing. I wanted to say like you didn't show up for everything at CFL. I don't know. I can't think of like a good prank. >> Oh, are you going to be yourself? >> Yeah, I'm going to be myself. >> Oh, okay. That's good. I thought you were going to Yeah, Trish is at work. >> I can't do a character like them. >> And Channing, >> can you give background? >> I don't know where Channing is. Channing and Tristan are just so good at prank calling. >> They are the funniest two people I have ever met as a duo. I'm moving this camera. >> Channing is at Big Daddy Antiques, which like I >> think that's perfect. I don't know like what she could possibly be doing there. >> They are I met them through I think through you >> kind of just through everyone but they are the funniest two people I've ever met. They're always in a bit like they don't break a bit >> ever. And when they shocking >> they are truly like the way that they keep it up even like there have been people like that will tell them to their face like I can't stand this and like that even just like spurs them on. I they're like these two characters and at first they're so kind of like abrasive >> but then you get to once you feel like you get the language that they're saying cuz they do have like their own message it's like okay thank you for letting me know >> y thank you for letting me know and like just like oh cool and responsible very well thank you for letting me know and like if you don't know them like it's like what >> I had a friend who like brought their new boyfriend to a dinner one time and I just felt like that was my I felt like He just did not he was not in on the lingo. >> Yeah, it's very It's also like even like harder than it is to be that person. It's harder to watch. >> It's It was so uncomfortable. I kept looking down cuz I was like they weren't like bully like they were being so they were like, "Oh, you're we have a tradition where like the new person pays the bill." And like he wasn't laughing. The new boyfriend was not laughing at all. Like he was just like >> like looking around. >> And then he kept being like everything he said Tristan and Channing were like >> very cool. Very cool. >> It was t It's such >> It's a tough watch. >> Tough watch, but like when you're in on it, it is so [ __ ] funny. Like, and they'll remember like the smallest details and then bring it up like 2 months later. Like, they'll remember characters I've told them about and they'll be like, "I'm just doing >> I'm like Jamie tonight or something." Like, >> they'll just name a name. It's just so [ __ ] funny. >> They are really beyond. >> What can I say? Like, you didn't show up. >> Yeah, that's really good. She's going to know I'm bringing or like what? Like something or you're sick or something? >> Um or like Channing, I'm supposed to do a podcast with Brooke today or No. What's like funny? I Are you a prank caller? >> No, I I like can't I don't like the stuff they do like I can't even watch. >> No, they did this thing where they were like they called this girl who and they pretended like Tristan was asking her on a Disney crew. Did you see that? >> No. >> It was so [ __ ] funny. >> God. Basically, they Tristan and Channing have a podcast and they accept requests for prank calls. And this one girl was like, "My friend really hasn't been having any luck dating." So, they had Tristan like call and ask her out and like she worked at Disney. And he was like he was being so charming in the first like 3 minutes so it sounded real. Like he was like, "Oh, I just I someone's recommended me to you. Like we have a mutual friend blah blah blah." And it sounded so real. And then he was like, "Do you want to this is crazy. Do you want to go on a cruise with me on a Disney cruise?" And he was like, "It's only 14 days." Like, and she was like, "What? Are you kidding?" And Tristan's like, "Yeah, I mean, I just thought it'd be a good idea." >> It was so [ __ ] funny. He does it, >> but like I can't do stuff like that. >> No, I know. I can't do something like that either. >> What if you're like, "Oh, I met a girl that you went on a date with." >> Wait, I met a girl and she said she went on a date with you. Yeah. Okay. >> No, she said that she made out with you at a party one time or something. No, I've been DMing this girl from Ryan and she said she made out cuz that could be real. >> That could be real. Our friend Channing like has this bit where she like makes out girls when she's drunk >> and she's like >> is that good? You think that's a good one? >> I don't know. >> You think it's bad? What should I do? I don't know. >> Like cuz she goes we she goes out a lot. So something I could like gaslight her. >> Wait, how about the girl you're Have you told her about >> the girl that that can Have you said you have a new crush? >> Yes, I think. >> Have you told Channing that? Cuz you could say that she made out with your crush and you could be upset. >> I'll just Okay, I'll do that. >> Becca, >> dude, this is so random. But >> what is it? >> Okay, so you know my crush. >> Yeah, I think. >> Why did you not tell me that you guys made out? >> Wait, who? >> I don't know your crush. Who? >> I'll send you a photo. You she do you remember who >> I brought her I brought her to the bar that night at Paige's birthday. >> Okay. >> And she said >> we make out. >> She said like remember when we were making out? We made up. >> Yeah. >> I remember that. I don't remember who your crush is and I'm scared. No, I don't remember that. >> Dude, why did you not tell me? >> I don't remember that. I'm not kidding. Who is your crush? I told you about her. I literally showed you a photo, dude. >> Becca, do you think I remember anything from from that night? >> Wait, we made out that night? >> Yes. I'm literally Okay, I'm not like mad, but I'm dying. I cannot believe you just didn't I came back from the bathroom and you didn't mention that. >> Becca, do you think that number one, I literally don't know who it is. I feel I really do feel horrible. I'm so sorry. Like I don't even remember. I'm not kidding. >> Can you give me like a name, photo reference, etc.? Are you being serious right now? >> Yeah. >> You're friend calling me. You're prank calling me. >> That is not funny. That is not funny. That is not funny. I'm like having anxiety. That is not funny. >> The fact that the fact that that could be real is the funniest part. >> Hi, Tran. >> That's that Okay, y'all are pissing me off. I've got to go. >> Okay. Love you. >> Is that Brooke? >> Yeah. Are you pissed? >> That is not funny. I'm at a photo shoot with Britney right now. I've got to go. Okay, we love you. >> Say hi. >> That is really not funny, but yeah, believe me. >> A little bit of a taste. >> Yeah, I deserve it. I love y'all. >> Love you. Bye. I love you. >> That was good. So like easily like tricked like that cuz that really could have happened. >> We were making out a lot that night. >> We really were making out a lot. Also, >> yeah. No. Okay. So today, that was a really long intro, but now we're going to do advice questions. Do rapid fire. So, because I made it like small, you could only ask me like small questions. So, these are just going to be in general advice. Um, let's just go to whichever one is like popping up at me. When do you, By the way, this was asked on Instagram and like I asked you guys to send in little things and Brooke is going to help me. Okay, love. When do you think you should cut off a friend versus all things? >> I think when the like cons outweigh the pros. >> I actually something Tink said really has helped me. >> Really? >> I love Tinx. I like it. >> She was talking about how like every person has a fatal flaw and like you either accept it or you don't. >> Right. >> So it's like if you can accept it then you just have to go you full send that and like when they do whatever their fatal flaw is, it's just like okay that's their fatal flaw. But if you can accept it, then that's >> you have to come to terms with that. >> Sometimes it gets too hard to accept the fat of like you think you can handle it and then as time goes on it's like oh god oh god I don't know but like >> totally agree like I think part of being in a community though is like accept like no one's going to be perfect. Not everyone will be perfect, >> right? So I also think like once this like person like starts asking you to hang out and you're consistently like I don't want to. >> Yeah. >> That might not be serving you anymore. And if you're making a pros versus cons list already, it's kind of like, oh no. >> Yeah. Right. If you're asking >> Yeah. >> It might it might be time drained after. That's definitely a thing. >> Yes. Your friend should like give you energy. >> Energy. It shouldn't be like >> Yeah. >> I feel drained. Okay. A guy with a girlfriend is hitting on me. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Am I allowed to say that you have experience with this or not? >> I just Yeah. I just like any guy who's ever like showed any interest in me has a girlfriend. >> I think that there is something about that. I think that you just have such like a magnetic personality that and you are kind of like just you are like a main character in a book. Like I feel like no really like you are that type of girl. So if a guy is like craving something different from his girlfriend like you would be like a magnetic person >> to fantasize about. I just wonder like if maybe their girlfriends like don't have like too much personality. I don't know cuz I don't know the girlfriends of these men, >> right? >> But I don't know. And maybe they're like, "Oh, like I don't need to have sex with this girl, but I like getting >> Or maybe they want to have sex with you, too. >> I like talking to her." >> Yeah. Like they're having like emotional sex with you. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. So, what do you >> what do you do with that? >> Me personally, uh I it's I'm not great about it as I do enter the conversation pretty frequently. But I would recommend not doing that for sure. >> Assume that there's no way they're flirting with you. They probably just want to like talk about something specific and then like you figure out slowly that it's like a slippery slip, >> right? I keep h it keeps happening where I'm like look at how much me and this person like talk and everyone's like this isn't okay. And I'm like, "Oh, really?" Um, >> we were talking about this with Gabby. Yeah. >> I wish we could have both you and Gabby on the I just need another mic one day. >> One day. >> Another mic. >> Okay. >> What was the question? >> Literally just a guy with a girlfriend hitting on me somewhere. >> Just that means the guy kind of sucks, >> right? >> Um, my boyfriend used to be poly. dot dot dot. Thoughts. Brooke Aick. What are your thoughts on Paul? M >> I think that's great if it works for you. That is not something that would work for me like even like 1%. >> Absolutely not. >> So the thought of that being something that could have worked for someone >> in the past >> that I want to be in a relationship with would be a little bit hard for me. But that would there would be a lot of conversations. So it really would depend how those conversations go. I'm just I'm not really like on board with a man being I don't know. I'm like dude you come on you're fine. >> Yeah. >> Like a man being poly. It's just selfish. Like a man being poly. Come on. >> I would just like what am what else? What else do you need? >> Yeah. You're fine. You're all good. >> You're >> Thank you though. >> Thank you so much. >> I can't figure out if I'm gay or just keep dating horrible men. D dot dot dot dot. Honestly, a little bit I relate to this. Like in the beginning, I was like, >> how do I just like always find myself attracted to terrible men or is this literally what the dating pool is like? I feel that way even now. Like post dating a woman for the first time, going on dates. I've been on two dates with men >> and both times I'm like, "Oh, oh, wait. No offense to one." One, oh my god, no offense. No, I keep talking about that guy on my podcast and he hasn't caught on and he texted me out of the blue just saying the randomest [ __ ] >> Does he listen? >> I don't think so. >> Okay. >> But it's almost like that's a little bit offensive and he watches the story of me promoting it and they're all crazy headlines like red flag 101. It's like click on the episode, dude. >> I'm sure he listens. >> He might not care. Sorry. I'm sorry to >> I'm sure he listens but doesn't want you to know he listens. But I feel like he doesn't mind that I'm talking about him, so he'll just keep texting me random stuff even though we broke up. Like I told him I didn't want a relation you guys. I told I'm so sorry to this man, but like I'm I'm never going to see him again. I don't You're fine. >> I'm not going to Venice to hang out with him. >> But >> I didn't realize he was in Venice. >> Yeah, he's in we're doing long distance. We were >> and I told him I wasn't interested in a relationship after the beat incident and he was like, "Oh, that's fine. What are you interested in? I will do whatever." And I was like, "No." and I just haven't stopped answering. Okay. Anyway, I guess the question was gay or horrible men. >> I don't know. >> I don't know. We were with Gabby and we were like doing the thing of like are you gay, Brooke? Because if both of us like girls, so I think it's just like fun to be like you, too. You should be too, >> right? >> It is hard to tell. I don't know. >> I know. >> I don't know if I just have the word cuz some people have happy straight relationships. >> No, they totally do. >> I believe some people are straight, but yeah. I don't know. I don't It's really tough. Especially I don't know where this person's from, but I'm feeling like LA. Like I don't know if there are eligible >> bachelors, >> straight men. Yeah, >> there have to be. I mean, you're going to work on a project one day and meet the love of your life. >> I I have faith in that 100%. >> Thanks, Becca. >> How to find your lover when Hinge does not work in all caps. >> I do not know. These are all like the same question over and over again. No, I know. Hinge. I don't know. Like, I've been genuinely trying to think of activities to do where you can meet someone and I've been going to a lot of coffee shops and just like sitting and

hoping that maybe someone will like come up to me. That hasn't happened. God forbid.

But I guess it's just like doing is like leaving the house as much as possible, which also is very hard. I honestly, the best, like every crush I've had that's been like a plausible actual real crush has been in person. Like, every person I've met that I've ever dated, I met in person. Like at a, I met, I met my ex on the side of a music video.

I think it's just a project. I think you just have to like say yes to more things. Me too. But yeah, I think just try to say yes to things. I don't know.

Yeah. Hinge. If if you feel like dating apps, you're feeling tired of it, I think I would suggest to stop. Take a break for a second, cuz like, you will get like burnt out on dating.

I deleted it after that. Really? No, I lied. I still have it. But like, me, I like emotionally, I deleted it. Yeah. Like I haven't been on the apps in a while, and now I just have it just to have it, not to like go on a date.

I am monogamous with my crushes too. I think I relate to what you were saying earlier. Like, I feel like I'm, I have tunnel vision. Even if it's a celebrity crush, I like, I'm like, I'm just doing one. I'm just doing the slip. Yeah. I'm just doing the slip. The person I like lives across the country.

That was, I am again, like also like such a romantic too, that like I would make, I would make anything work, but like, that's tough.

Well, like, I, not to be like, not to flex our like easy jobs, but like, we could go anywhere. So, it's like, you know what I mean?

Yeah. It's also like, is it just someone you like, or is it someone where there's like something happening?

At this point, also, I feel like me and Brooke are like a little bit like burnt out on the, I mean, I'm, I don't want to group me in with you, but me after one date being so exhausted. One date where nothing happened, not even a follow-up text. I am so drained.

I know. I, I feel like I am burnt out on dating. So, I, I feel like I'm like operating on like a, I don't know anymore level. I'm like, here with you guys being like, I don't know, maybe you might as well try.

I would literally, if I like had a crush on anyone that like maybe remotely seemed to have a crush on me, there is, I would, I would go cross country at this point. So don't say that you, you are going to attract like the worst person if you're like, just like me back, you know, like, um, I just meant like, if there's somebody that I like, that happens to like me back, like I would.

Got it. I'm in a point in my life where I would fly across the country for that. Yes. Um, but I don't, that has, I haven't been in that situation.

You're not going to like my next one. What? It's the same vibe. Why am I so afraid of dating at 30?

I don't, I can't relate to that. I'm 29, so that's so true. I don't know.

No, I do not know. Um, that question was a little bit too spot on for what we. That's crazy.

No, just frustrating too when you don't know why. It's like, why can't I just like be normal in this way?

I think you are normal. What? I guess like, maybe try to get to the root of like, I wonder what the fear is. Is it fear of rejection? Do you have literally social awkwardness?

I don't know. I've been in therapy for so long and then I just quit cuz I was like, we're just going in circles. Um, I don't know what it is.

Yeah. I don't know. I guess it's probably fear of rejection, but like, I can't, I don't really know why. It's crazy cuz you have such like a, um, booming career. Like your career is so awesome and you are just such a presence and you seem so confident. So, it's funny to me. It's not funny, but it's like, I don't know. You have like a blind spot of dating where you don't feel powerful. Maybe.

No, I definitely don't feel powerful. But like, right now, I'm literally just like, I don't care. Like, I do want to just like focus on the book and career. I'm just doing. She's doing so much stuff.

I hope that it comes. It's going to. It's going to. We don't have to tackle your fear on this podcast today.

Um, how to tell your friends good news when they're often judgmental. Do you struggle with that? And I'm like, also name names. Why would they be judgmental of good news unless it's not a friend? Good news?

Like some friends do you sometimes there's like jealousy? I feel like I don't really. This used to happen to me a lot like in college, high school when like you would be excited about something and then people would be like, right, it's either jealousy, or I can think of an instance where it's like, you might think that something is good news, but like, it, you're thinking like, okay, you know what I mean? Like, you're maybe not going in a, a, maybe they have a different, okay, so it either is coming out of jealousy, or maybe you have a blind spot.

Right. Either one. It could be your fault. Not to victim blame. Not at all. It's probably jealousy, but I've definitely been in situations where someone has been like, "Oh, guess what?" Like, I'm going out with this guy again and I'm just like, "That is genuinely the worst thing I've ever heard cuz like."

Do you think you would tell me if I was making a huge mistake at this point in our? Yeah. Okay. I do. I feel like you handle honesty really well. Really? Yeah. And I feel like you want to hear it.

Oh my god. Thank you. Wait, can I tell the story of like, did I already tell you guys this? That we did a podcast like a year ago. It was a long time ago. I used to think that you like hated me the first time I met you. Did I tell you that story?

I like that makes me so sad. Everyone says that to me, but no, but no, you didn't tell me that. I found out that it was at Jason Nash's 50th or 40th, 50th, I think. Obviously, we were there mutually. That was my first time meeting. And I remember going up to you and being like, like so excited. But no, you were like, you were like, hi. Like, you just didn't match the vibe that I was doing. And then I was like trying to adjust and then I was like, "Oh my god, this girl literally [ __ ] hates me." And then I told Brett or someone cuz he, I was with him and he was like, "No, she just told me she's really high tonight." And I was like, "Oh, so you were just high."

Okay, good. I need to stop doing that because that's happened a few times. But also like, I feel bad. Like a lot of people have said that to me because I just, it's, I think it's like an anxious thing.

I know. And I, now that I know you so much, like, I feel like I've really gotten to know you the past year. Um, you, I, I, something I appreciate about you is that you don't feel pressured to like match people's energy, like in a good way though. Like, I feel like you're not fake. Like, I feel like you, and also you're just like a sweetie pie. I think once you get to know it, it just definitely does take me time to warm up.

Yeah. Which I think is like a positive thing cuz you know like where you stand with you. Well, I wish I could just like be myself in that way, but also I would not want like you or anyone to think that I hate them. So, I need to, I definitely need to readjust in some capacity cuz you know who else thought I like hated them for months? Sod.

Sod. Yeah. And I feel so bad. I think I'm just like, I don't know. I like, I don't know. I'm just not good with like new relationships until I, all of a sudden I am.

No, but also like, getting to know you, you are such a good person to get to know because you're so smart and I feel like I trust your opinion. You're one of the few people that I feel like if I asked a question, I would believe what you said. Like some people I feel like are just like trying to gas me up. That's why. Anyway, to circle back, if I had an advice question, a career or like maybe love at this point, I don't know, I would probably go to you cuz I.

Well, definitely don't come to me for love advice. No, but like, if I should like, I feel like you're just so like, truthful. Like you, I don't know.

Well, thank you. I just feel like you were smart.

I have loved um getting to know you. I know. Honestly, this year we, yeah. Like I've gotten to know you so much better and you were just so smart and funny and.

You too. Seriously. And you're like one of those few people that like, I feel like a lot of the people in our mutual friend group are always in character, so they're not going to be real, but you can be, you can like snap into realness, you know? But I love them too, like you're just like, yeah, sometimes it's like, okay.

I know, but I love them too. So, of course. Okay. Um, so they're often judgmental. Yeah. Just figure out like what it is. Like, if you're making a huge mistake, you're making a huge mistake. But if they're jealous, they're jealous. My ex's brother has been flirting with me and I don't hate it.

I say go for it. I do too. I just don't care though. Like I don't. Just because like I read so many romance novels.

I know. And you're writing one, so like, you probably believe in love more like that. I don't know. It's just like, and those things do like make for really good stories.

That is like the best story [ __ ] ever. Also, I want you to be there like making out if if your ex really did you wrong. Like that would be awesome if you got to go to like a family dinner and be like, "Hey, you didn't get rid of me, B." Like, you know.

Right. I never, I don't really think that unless you like ended on good terms or like are still friends or whatever, that you owe your ex. I know. Who gives a [ __ ] about exes? If they suck, they suck. Like literally, who cares? Um, so I think do it, but also I just kind of want to know what happens.

I do too. So please follow up with that one. Feeling behind in life. Hm. I can promise you that somebody is like looking at you as well and thinking like, "Oh, I wish I had X, Y, and Z that you have." It's just like everyone has that one thing that they feel behind on, but you have to like acknowledge where you're also like ahead, too. And also, there's no timeline for any of this.

We talked about this actually on the last one, I think we did. I'm like resurfacing memories. I was like, I feel behind in like logistical life things and ahead in other things. Like, I don't know.

Right. And I feel like so behind with dating, but like, I know like people look at us and are like, what? Like, don't even think about those two blind spots that we have and are like, oh, I wish I had X, Y, and Z, and we look at them and we're like, oh, I wish I was. You know.

I do. I don't even think I would focus on dating right now. You're just, you have so much coming up. I don't know. I'm, yeah, I'm taking, I'm taking a break after my, um, after my date.

Also, like, it kind of like wraps minds up. Like people get like the worst version of themselves when they're like dating someone that sucks or like, or just like too focused on it. Focus on it and it's all they want to talk about and it's like everything to them and they won't be in a good mood if they're like boyfriend or girlfriend isn't in a good. So annoying.

How to, how to decide whether or not to leave your job? I have like, I'm horrible with this question because I just got so lucky in a situation where I was not happy and then made one viral TikTok and quit my job and that worked out, which is like not. I would recommend doing that. I would not recommend doing that. So I always want to be like, yeah, just do it, but also recognize that what happened to me was very lucky.

I know. We kind of got into social media at a time when it was a little bit easier. So, I don't know. Um, but that being said, I also like when I, looking back, when I was miserable at my job, like I wish I had just quit and like worked in a bookstore. Like, it's just not worth being miserable, I don't think.

No, a job is not worth being miserable at all cuz that's like your whole life. Like, it really is. You have to do whatever makes you happy. I think don't take like an, an insane risk like without knowing where your next paycheck is coming from. But I think you should, we have one life and I think you should invest time into like doing what, if you secretly have something that you want to do. What else is there to do on this earth? Like, don't punish yourself working at like, I used to hate my job when I was a server. I was like, gh.

Mhm. So I like needed, I had motivation to like do the social media thing and be like delusional about it. So if you do too, you should. I don't know if you're trying to do, I don't know what you're trying to do, but I think we got lucky. I do think we got.

Yeah. But we aren't like, we weren't like born special to like have the career that we wanted. Like, anyone can have any career that they want. It's not like we were born, I don't know. We just kept going.

So, liance about my gym. Do you know what liance is? Limmerance about my gym crush. Sure do. Who doesn't? Limmerance about my gym crush who definitely doesn't want me, but I see him every day.

It's like so hard. Like, I, limmerance is like, it's a [ __ ] honestly up there with some of the most deadly diseases. Like, I don't know how you get rid of it. Except for just time.

Yeah. And then sometimes like, you'll learn something about them and you'll be like, "Oh, never mind." That's so true. I recently learned something about someone. Really? Well, when we were out with Gabby the other night. Yeah. Either learning one. Yeah. Get to know them. Get to know them.

To have a crush is to not know anything. I would honestly suggest getting to know your crush. I completely agree. I used to be in love with that bee guy. I was in love with him. Yeah. Remember? Yeah. I was literally at dinner with you guys being like, and look, he's the one, like, I finally found him and then.

God forbid. Ste. Um, how more happened, but I was like, I can't tell. How to make new friends as an adult? That's another thing that I like, thank god that I just like knew like one person when I moved here and that person knew someone who knew someone who knew someone and now we all have this big group. Like if I didn't know that one person. Oh, same. I knew Brett.

Yeah. Then I would have been screwed. But I think just finding one person and then like, they'll have other friends and you can make a web of friends. Yeah. Yeah. I think just try to get to know one person really well that you trust cuz it only takes one. I moved here only knowing Brett. Like, that is the only person I knew, which is crazy.

I only knew Connor. That's crazy. And then through Connor, I met like Patrick and then. Yeah. Like luckily Brett like knew knows everyone, so I got lucky.

It. Um, how to make new friends? I think you have to go in public. I'm so sorry. It's the like, I'm so sorry when that's the answer. I know it sucks. I wanted this man so bad. But honestly, when I first moved to LA, I was like staying in a lot. I was like ordering food a lot and like, I think you have to like get out of your house.

Last question. I wanted this man so badly, but now that I have him, I don't. What is this pattern? I think just getting to know them. Maybe. And also like, that's a genuine like chemical thing. Like you get adrenaline from like the chase and then once you get them, it goes away and so you don't want them anymore.

I think that's like anxious avoidant. Ooh, nice. You should read that book Attachment. Yeah, you should. I think just read Attachment and you'll be fine.

How do I make myself like nice guys when I'm only attracted to [ __ ]? Maybe that's something that you take a break and you work on yourself and then get back in there, coach. But what is the point of liking like a shitty guy? Like, it's not, there's not. What do you mean? Like, ew. I think that you have to have higher self-worth because those guys are boring and empty and stupid and girls are like way better anyway. Like hang out with your f. You need to like know your value, you know?

Yeah. Like [ __ ] boys are not worth it. Also, I, I'm looking at bear. Me too. You look so cute. So cute.

All right. Well, thank you, Brooke, so much. Thanks for having me. Is there anything you want to add about? Um, general advice or? Nope, I don't think so. Sorry. I come on here every single time and I'm like, I don't know what to tell you. Um, but I love coming on here and I love having.

And I can't wait for your book to come out. When is your book coming out? Um, summer 2026. Summer 2026. Everyone read all about they know her name, Phoebe. Yeah. And it's going to be so good. She's been writing it for so long and it is so like the plot and just hearing from Brooke like BTS stuff. It's so cool. I'm so excited for your career.

Oh, Becca, thank you so much. Oh my god. I cannot wait to see where you are a year from now. If I still have a podcast, you have to come back on. You're going to be like a huge celeb. I'm so excited. I will not. Please. You will. No, you will. I'll be, I keep telling Brooke I need her to get into acting cuz she would be great. I'm just saying.

I, I, I would take a class. Maybe you should take a class where I go. I'll give you the. You can just do beginner or intermediate. Yeah. Like you can do it. Okay. Well, I love you, Brooke. I'm going to let you go. Thank you for having me. She's going to go to a cafe and work. Okay. Bye, guys. Find out events.
