What if I told you the only thing standing between you and success is a single belief? Not talent, not money, not luck. Just one belief: the belief that you can achieve anything you set your mind to with enough time and effort. Sounds simple, right?
But here's the catch. Most people don't have this belief. Most people, maybe even you, have been taught to doubt themselves, to think that success is reserved for the special or the lucky. Today, I'm going to show you why that's a lie, why this belief is the foundation of every success story you've ever heard, and how you can start building it for yourself immediately.
So this [ __ ] crazy. So DJ one, I, so I'm not even talk you my ET. Everything around you, school, society, maybe even family and friends, condition you to believe something's just too difficult to get because of XYZ. But realistically, that's a nihilistic mindset that'll get you nowhere.
I want you to do something for me. Think back to something you really wanted to do, some sort of goal you had, or maybe trying to hit a new PR in the gym, but you gave up because you thought, "I'm not strong enough," or "That's just not for me." How different would your life look if you didn't give up?
All of my life, I've believed if I really wanted to do something or become someone, I could do it. And I mean anything. Like, if I really wanted to become an astronaut, I could. It would take a lot of time and effort, but that's it. I've always believed with time and effort, my capabilities are are limitless. I could get into whatever field I wanted to. All it takes is time and effort.
Now, because my mindset wasn't a bottleneck, this approach helped me achieve everything I have so far, and especially on incredibly short time frames. I genuinely, with all of my heart, believe I will be successful. And this belief is what enables me to work with [Music] passion.
Imagine trying to do work when you don't even believe you'll be successful, when you're doubting yourself constantly. Doubt is a true Piller. You'll be trying to do work with a little of this lazy energy of, "Oh, uh, I doubt it'll even work." Are you really going to be productive? Will you ever make any progress towards your goals if you approach things with such a half-ass mindset?
Whereas, imagine how much more progress you'd make if you approach your goals thinking, "It's easy for me to do. It's already written that you'll achieve your goals." You'll be so much more productive, and your progress will literally skyrocket, just like it did for me.
Now, I'm not saying you shouldn't doubt yourself. Doubts come naturally and they're impossible to avoid. However, you can change your mindset towards them. If you're experiencing doubt, that means you're on the right path. You wouldn't have doubts if you weren't working hard. Be grateful for the doubt and continue regardless. Don't overthink it. Don't waste time speculating what might be and what might not be. Just act and find out for yourself.
"Oh, but Canal, I've tried and I keep failing." Bro, failure is how you learn. You make mistakes and fail so you can learn from them and improve. Failure isn't a reason to give up.
Now, I've got five action steps for you that you can do today, which will help with this. This. So, first of all, challenge your doubts. Next time you think, "I can't do this," why not? What's the actual evidence? Most of the time, you'll realize your doubt is just fear talking. Keep trying. You can't give up until you've tried at least a hundred times. No point posting 10 videos and thinking, "Oh, but I haven't hit 1K Subs yet." Are you stupid? Like that, that doesn't make any sense. You need to be consistent, and you need to try it several, several times because obviously, you're not going to hit 1K Subs after the first 10 videos.
Now, the next action step that I have for you is focusing on small wins. You don't have to climb the mountain in one day. Set small, achievable goals and prove to yourself you can do it. Confidence comes from evidence, not wishes. You can't just become a millionaire tomorrow. You've got to take it one step at a time. Learn the skills, apply them, fail, learn, change the method, repeat, and then you'll get success.
You only get the like, level of motivation when you already work on it and make progress. And if you set a goal so high, like, "Oh, I want to hit 1 million Subs by tomorrow," and then you'll like, feel very insecure if you didn't achieve your goal because it was completely unrealistic, and then it just sets you off and you're completely demotivated. No. If you set a goal of like, "Okay, this video that I post, I want it to grow by at least one or two subscribers. I want it to grow my channel by one or two subscribers." I'm just using YouTube as an example. Or like, say, for example, monetary goal, "Oh, within two months, I want to hit 100 quids per month, or 100 per month, um, from a business." Now, that is a reasonable goal. That's something that's actually achievable. It's not saying like, "Oh, I need to be be a millionaire tomorrow." Do you get what I'm trying to say?
Now, the next action step that I have to you is committing to the process. Stop focusing on the outcome. If you believe that effort over time leads to success, then all you need to do is show up and work. The results will come naturally.
And then the next action step is to surround yourself with positivity. Your environment shapes your beliefs. Find people who lift you up and prove the success is possible. It's like that five people quote or analogy. The five people that are the closest to you make or break your mindset, right? So just apply that here and surround yourself with that positivity so you're not constantly drained by this negativity of people being like, "Oh, you're not going to succeed, blah, blah, blah." You need people rooting for you and people helping you get there.
Now, the next action step that I have for you is to visualize that success. So spend time imagining what your life will look like if you stick with it. Belief starts with being the possibility. Visualize who you want to become and how they feel if they had achieved the thing already. So say, for example, you're trying to hit 10K per month, visualize the Stripe payment notification coming through on your phone. Visualize retiring your parents, the smile on their faces when you've made it. Put your mind in the frame of thinking that you've already done it, and then go and do the hard work.
If you believe you can, you will. It's as simple as that. Once you get that belief, the rest is just showing up and putting in the work. No one is naturally gifted. You aren't born with anything. You build it.
