I just wanted to let you know you won't be getting a raise this time around.

Interesting. Um, considering I haven't put anything less than 50 hours in a week and according to company policy, it states that I am granted a minimum of 2% raise after being there for a minimum of 2 years. I'm on year 10. So, are we just going to overlook that?

Okay. Well, I won't be able to grant working overtime anymore, and I will be just strictly working my 40-hour shift. Also, I'm happy to bring a copy of the paper that I signed that I am granted a 2% raise, even if the company is in a financial crisis, and no other factors, such as a dislike to an employee, will play a factor in this decision. I'll drop a copy off to the news station as well on my way to work on Monday.

If you do that, we'll have to write you up for giving out company papers to outside entities.

Okay. Well, I'll be happy to put that right up, right next to the employee handbook that states that not abiding by company policy, which includes giving a minimum of a 2% raise to employees that have been there at a minimum of 2-year tenure, can have implications up to and including dismissal.
