NEVER CONFUSE THE WORD WITH THE BIBLE. >> WHAT kind of preacher would say the Bible is not the word of God? Someone sent this video to me and I don't know who these two brothers are. I think they, by the way, they did a pretty good job of handling it. It really is a video covering something TD Jake said, but also Priscilla Sh. I'm interested with with TD Jake's part. She's kind of saying the same thing. Uh, and so y'all forgive me not knowing who the who the gentleman who actually had this video first, but I want to cover something because it's a deceptive thing that he's doing. There's a reason why he's doing this. The reason why he's saying that the Bible is not the word of God. But let's just listen to the video first. >> NEVER CONFUSE THE WORD WITH THE BIBLE. THE BIBLE IS THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD. >> He said, "Never confuse the word with the Bible. The Bible is the written word of God." So, is it the word of God or not? Kind of confusing. Is it? You said it. Don't confuse it with the word, but then you said it's the word. Albeit written word, but it's the word.
Now, he's going to make an assumption as though we didn't know this. Maybe some folks didn't catch this, but let's hear what else he has to say. >> And these scriptures were written that you might believe. It is not the full histo. >> Well, no one thought or said that it's all that God has ever said or ever done or will do or has done. No one said that. But what do we mean when we say that it is the word of God? Well, when I say that that's my word or that's this or that's that. That's my writing. That's what I said. Do I Does any would anyone take that's all I've ever said? What about if I also include what someone else said? Are those still my words? We'll come back to that because he's not the only one saying there's it's it's kind of in vogue and popular. Maybe someone is trying to be cute or chic or what have you or they're trying to tear the word of God down. Again, what kind of preacher would say that the Bible is not the word of God? HAVE YOU EVER HAD GOD SPEAK SOMETHING TO YOU? TELL YOU DON'T GO TONIGHT. DON'T GO ON FRIDAY. YOU AIN'T GOT NO BIBLE FOR IT. BUT YOU GOT A WORD FROM THE LORD. >> So he says that he he he brings up the leading of the Lord. Now I'm not one that says that the Lord does not lead. If you want to call that speaking to you, that's fine. But notice what he says. He says first that this is not the word of God. Then he transitions and says that, "Have you ever gotten a word, don't marry this person, don't get this job, don't do that?" What does one have to do with the other? Well, I'll tell you what he's doing. What he's trying to do is to say that the Lord can still speak to you in an authoritative fashion that is outside of the scriptures that are also on par with the scriptures. The word of God is not all of God's word. No. But there's some things that you need to understand about what the Bible says. I'll tell you more about why they're saying this in just a second. But this is this is vitally important that you know this. Remember, the Bible says that the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit. Now, let's just pause there. What word of God do you think the writer of Hebrews is speaking of? Could he possibly be speaking of the the written word? I think he could be. I think I think that's exactly what he's speaking of.
Now, before we continue, um to think that the Bible that we have is not the word of God. Again, no one is saying that it's not the complete word of God, but his point is saying that it's not the complete word of God is to say that there's more that is on par. And so, when the Lord puts in your spirit or speaks to you or talks to you and tell you to go this way or don't go this way or whatever, then that also is the word of God. Even if that advice you thought came from the Lord is wrong, because that's what happens. Remember what the Bible says? We ought to test these things. So we we ought to do not believe, beloved, every spirit, but instead test to see whether they come from God. Well, how do you test to see if something comes from God? Well, the only way that you can test to see if something comes from God is to check it with the word. Does the Bible speak about, you know what, Lord, I am having problems at work and I'm praying about leaving this job. Well, does the Bible pray or tell you what your answer's going to be? No. But it gives you some guidelines. You can understand how God speaks, how God moves, what God how God thinks, you can understand him. And so when something when you feel like the Lord is leading you a certain way and that's that goes counter to the Lord. There are people that literally said that the Lord told them to divorce their wife or their husband because they had a feeling that this was not the right person. Well, if you know the Lord, that's a prayer you don't have to pray. But why would a preacher come up and say that? Well, because if I'm a preacher and I want, like TD Jake, I want you to hear something. I want you to take what I'm saying um and to use my encouragement because you're full of emotions. I want you to take that and use that um as a sign that is from the Lord and to encourage you, get you all excited, jinned up, because what ultimately what it's going to do is ultimately cause you to give more money. Don't get married. THEN YOU GOT A WORD FROM THE LORD. THERE IS NO VERSE THAT SAYS DON'T GET MARRIED, BUT YOU GOT A WORD FROM GOD. TOUCH SOMEBODY SAY THE WORD. THE WORD. >> TOUCH somebody and say the word. The word. The word. Well, what is the word? See, you just said the word is the Bible is not the word, but the word. Well, then what is the word? Oh, if I hear something, well, let's just pause for a second and let's look at the text. Know first of all that no prophecy, no utterance, no information, no revelation of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation. For no one, look what he says. For no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
Now couple things. One, what is Peter speaking about? The scriptures that we have, what does he call them? He says, "No prophecy of scripture." speaking about the scriptures, the graphics, and they they were spoken about why? From God, moved by the Holy Spirit and spoke from God. So when someone says that the Bible is not the word of God, they are lying. They're wrong. It is the word of God. Is it all of God's word, everything that God has ever said? No. Do we believe that God has said some words or spoken to Adam more than it's written or Eve more than it's written? Sure. But does it have to be written? No. Even John says in John at the end of John that uh there are more things that he's done that the Lord has done who also is God who who done these different things but they're not written couldn't contain them. But what we do have is what what the Lord has spoken to us that's necessary for our salvation. Well, someone's going to be a little cute also and I think also do damage because he's a person that also wants you to believe that he's a prophet or an apostle and that there's extra revelation and it can come through him. But so when I ask you what kind of person would say the Bible is not the word of God, these are the kind of people. Someone like TD Jake or someone like Ubert Angel. This Bible is not the word of God. Let me let me explain here. This is where people don't even hear nothing even. So see see the moment the Bible says only a fool decides a matter after hearing one side. >> Way to take something out of context. Take one scripture and apply it to something else. But okay, fine. Let's hear what you Let's Let's hear what you have to say. >> Look at this. This Bible is not the word of God. >> It contains the word of God. >> In this Bible, you find the words of the devil. >> Okay, that sounds good. But is that true? The words of God are inside. The words of the devil are inside. The words of men who did not know what God said are inside. >> Oh, that sounds good. That makes sense. The words of the devil are inside. Not a lot of words of the devil, but they're there. The words of demons are inside. The words of evil men are inside. Those aren't the word of God. Sounds good, but it's not right. How do I know? Well, let's just be practical like him. If I tell you a story about someone else, is it still not my words? It's my words. It's my rendition, my understanding. So, let's let's do what he let's let's go with what he said. We have the words of the devil in here. How do you know those are the words of the devil? Who in the Bible heard the words of the devil and wrote them down? How do we know what what what said what the serpent said, what the devil said to Eve? How do we know what the devil said or the conversation in Job? How do we know what Satan said to Jesus when he tempted him? Who told you that? God did. That's why that's why what he says is so asinine. It absolutely is the word of God. It's the word of God. Now, this his his word has a story about what other people did or said as told by the word of God. This isn't difficult, but the reason why is because I want to I want to impugn it in a in a way to where I will also add to the word of God. The Lord told me this. By the way, he's one of those such people who would say, "The Lord told me this and want you to lean on what you think the Lord has possibly said." And how you're going to think that God said something is by listening to me. The more you listen to me, the more you get an idea of what I want you to say and you'll start saying and believing yourself. All scripture, all scriptures are what? Inspired. Now this word that's used here inspired. Mr. Jake, Mr. Ubert Angel is the nustas. This first part you can recognize that thei that's God. Nustas breathe. So God breathed or inspired by who? By God. And so it's literally like Peter said breathed out by God. And that what and what does it These these scriptures are they are profitable for teaching, for reprove, for correction, for training in righteousness so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. So if you're looking for something else, looking for something more, well then you just told uh Paul that he's wrong. You're telling these uh the Lord that he's wrong since these words that Paul is speaking came from him because you're saying they're not enough. You need more. You need more because you got to have more of a revelation. Again, my question is, what kind of preacher, what kind of person would say the Bible is not the word of God? Well, here's another example. Someone who was just engulfed in sin, perverted, and he wants you to also doubt the Bible. >> So, let me be clear. The Bible is not the inherent, nor is it the infallible word of God. And it doesn't even claim to be. >> Well, you have to be gay. part of part of some liberal alphabet community to make this thing which he is. The Bible is not the inherent infallible word of God. Now the Bible is inherent and infallible. What do I mean by that? The Bible is inherent not necessarily in the copies but it's inherent in its original the original autographs. We don't have the actual originals. So how do we know what the originals say? Well, we can find out. You have seen me put this on screen. I I'll cover a text and you'll notice these different markings that you might see on the screen. Let's find one that I've covered. So, let's go back to oh uh Hebrews 4:12. And you'll notice here, you'll see some little markings here. Let's make this a little bit bigger. I want you guys to see that this is what's called the uh the critical apparatus. This is the NA28 Greek. And so, you see this little mark here, uh Numatas. And so, that means that there might be some changes or some differences in some other uh manuscripts because we've got all of these different manuscripts. And what can we do with these manuscripts? We can look at these manuscripts and see what other manuscripts have said to see if there is some sort of difference anywhere. And I'm scrolling to see if I see any other textual variants. So like right here you have this word out ala I'm sorry alu um prosperane. And so what is in in other uh manuscripts it might say uh whereas this text says uh he is obligated to offer sacrifices. It just says in other manuscripts himself the word the shoes there uh is instead of alu it is ya ya you can't see below me it's pretty small but it doesn't have any sort of changes and you can take all the different manuscripts put them together and you can see this is what these texts mean we can construct and find what the actual original said uh so if I said um in one letter I am going store and then another letter that I wrote to someone else. Um, I'm going store to the store in another letter. All of those have flaws in them. Or I write um I am go to stole with no R or E. Even with incorrect spelling, you can put all those together and find out what did I originally say and everyone would agree. That's how we put together the Bible. That's how we know with looking at all the different manuscripts. And so it is inherent in its originals. And then he says the Bible's not in is not infallible. Yes, it is. Meaning that there's nothing that it states that is untrue and the Bible claims that it is true. So if you think there's contradictions or what have you. Now, by the way, he doesn't want you to take the word to be the word of God because that would mean you would have to accept what it says about his lifestyle that it being sinful. So, when you find someone else that wants to come against the word of God, you already know that they have an ulterior motive. Remember Paul, you know Paul, Paul is speaking, he's teaching, he's leading. And when he comes to um the Bereans, what do they do? They sent Paul and Silas away, Acts 17:10, by night to Berea. And when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica. For they received the word. What word? They received the word with great eagerness, examining examining the scriptures to see if they if they if whether these things were so. So, we take what we think, what we feel, what we've been told, and we check the scriptures. Why? Because the scriptures literally are the word of God. That's what we base everything off. That's what we go and look and see. That's why the Bible says we should test these things. That's why the Bible says that we shouldn't exceed from what is written. That's why the people in the early church, they listen. When I say the early church, I meant the first church. That's why they sat and listen to the teachings of the apostles. That's why the Bible says teach what what sounds what what accords with sound doctrine. That's why Paul says the time will come when people not endure sound doctrine. That's why the Bible says people will fall away from the tenants of the faith, the faith. Why? Because people like these men out here will tell you the Bible is not the word of God because they have their own motives. They are doing exactly what was done in the very beginning. Who was the first person to tell someone that these words are not the word of God? H let me think. Oh, I know. Genesis 3. Satan. And that very same person went to Jesus to also try to distort the word of God. What what did the Lord do? Gave him the actual text. So when someone says that, you already know who their father is. Amen.
