Our adversary got to give us every single thing back that he stole from us. So I mean, I need him to bring that peace back. I need him to bring that joy back. I need him to bring that mind back.
Maybe you feel like you lost your mind, but God is about to restore it. He's about to break every single chain, every single yoke, but I need you to understand that it's freedom in this room today. And He's about to do it for you. God says there's a harvest that's here. There's a return that's here. So if anxiety has had you gripped, depression has had you gripped, soul ties have had you gripped, abundance has had you gripped, I declare in the name of Jesus, it shall be broken. It shall be broken. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. GOD IS NOT MAD AT YOU, BUT HE'S MADLY IN LOVE WITH YOU. HE IS PURSUING YOU. AND I DON'T KNOW WHO TOLD YOU shame on you, but Jesus is saying shame off of you. BECAUSE SHAME WAS ON HIM AT THE CROSS. GUILT WAS ON HIM AT THE CROSS. FEAR WAS ON HIM AT THE CROSS. BROKENNESS WAS ON HIM AT THE CROSS. AND BECAUSE IT WAS ON HIM AT THE CROSS, NOW YOU CAN COME HOME and not have shame, not have fear, NOT HAVE WORRY, NOT HAVE DEPRESSION, but have acceptance. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat.
Our adversary got to give us every single thing back that he stole from us. So I mean, I need him to bring that peace back. I need him to bring that joy back. I need him to bring that mind back. Maybe you feel like you lost your mind. But God is about to restore it. He's about to break every single chain, every single yoke. And I need you to understand that is freedom in this room today. And He's about to do it for you. God says there's a harvest that's here. There's a return that's here. So if anxiety has had you gripped, depression has had you gripped, soul ties have had you gripped, blondness has had YOU GRIPPED, I DECLARE in the name of Jesus, it shall be broken. It shall be broken. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

So good. >> That's what I'm talking about. We're going to pray and get ready to go into worship.
Lord Jesus, we just thank You, Lord. And we pray that You would meet us, Lord. We pray that You would meet us, Lord, in our homes, in our living rooms, in our rooms. Lord, we pray that You would touch us as we gather with our family around the TV. And Lord, we just pray, Lord, that You would just show up in a powerful way, Lord. And You would allow this to be a reset, Lord, a time that You refresh us, recharge us, and regenerate us, Lord. So, I just pray, Lord, that You would move in a mighty way. And You would do amazing things in our lives in the mighty name of Jesus. And everyone say, >> "Amen." Come on. Let's get ready to worship. Are y'all ready to worship me this morning?

>> Lord Jesus, we just thank You that we can speak the name that's above every other name. We thank You that we can speak the name that the wind and the waves obey. Lord, that everything on this earth has to obey Your name. Everything on this earth has to obey Your authority. Everything on this earth has to obey Your spirit. We speak the name above all other names. I don't care how low you are. There's a name that's harder than every other name. I don't care how broken you are. There's a name that can fix every broken situation. I don't care how lost you are. There's a name that can find you in your defeat, in your despair, in your depression. That's the name of Jesus. We speak it. We decree it and declare it. Oh, come on, somebody shout His name. Come on. Come on. Speak the name. >> Speak His name. >> Welcome to Ready in Charge. How everybody doing today? So at this time I'm going to pray over the offering.
Lord Jesus, I just pray over offering tithes. Lord, I pray that You would bless it. And Lord, I pray that You would bless the hands that prepare it. And Lord, I thank You, Lord, that You allow us to be the hands and feet of Jesus, Lord. And Lord, You have empowered us as a church, Lord, to go into the community, to go into the highways and byways and reach people that's far from You, Lord. Lord, You said that when You were hungry, Lord, that the church didn't feed You. So, we want to be a church that feeds You. You said when You was thirsty, the church didn't give You anything to drink. We want to be a church that gives You something to drink. You said when You was in need, Lord, that no one was there to meet You. And we want to be a church that meets You in need, Lord. So, Lord, we just pray, Lord, that You would cover the people of our church and in the people of our city and the surrounding areas, Lord. We pray You would protect them, Lord. We pray that You would keep them safe on the roads, Lord, as they have to travel, Lord. There's people with mandatory jobs, Lord, and they still have to go to work. We pray You would cover them and protect them, Lord. Lord, because in the Bible, their shoes didn't go out when they had to travel. We're declaring that their tires won't go out, Lord. That they won't slip off the road, but You will keep them, cover them, and protect them in the storm, Lord. So, right now, Lord Jesus, we just thank You for Your goodness and Your faithfulness. And we just pray over everyone, Lord, as they're sitting at home, in their living rooms, and in their rooms watching. Lord, we pray that You would meet them in the middle of a storm. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. And everyone say, >> "Amen." >> Amen. Amen. Amen.
A couple other things that we want to share with you guys. Today is actually Radiant's sixy year birthday. Come on, somebody. >> And it's been an amazing six years. How's six years been for you, Pastor D? >> Absolutely amazing. I mean, it changed my life. I don't know about you, but Radiant Church is just special. It's a special place, and I'm excited that I get a chance to be a part of it and doing what God has called us to do as a family. Everybody give it up for Radiant Church yourself. everybody that's give to gave into Radiant Church. Thank you so much. It's just been a blessing. >> And I don't know where you started coming to Radiant Church at. I don't know where your journey started, but we're so happy that you have came that God has sent you. And maybe you're watching online. You're like, I'm thinking about visiting Radiant Church. We're actually going to celebrate our 6 year anniversary next Sunday, February 1st. We have a service at 9:30 and 11:30. We would love for you to come out. Tag some people in this. Invite them out. We got a powerful service in store next week. Can we give God a shout of praise for that? Come on. >> Awesome. Awesome. Well, at this time, I'm going to get ready to pray and I'm going to jump into the word. You guys make sure you guys hang with us. I got a word for you guys. I got a now word. So, make sure you hang out. We're going to be in service a couple more minutes. And make sure you don't leave. Grab your family. Maybe your kids are in the room right now. Grab them. Say, "Come on. Come on. Come on. You got to hear the word. You got to hear the word." I used to love uh being with my mom and in the living room listening to the word of God on TV. Come on. Grab those kids. Grab those kids. I'm going to pray and we're going to jump into the word.
Lord Jesus, I pray that You would speak through me to Your people. And Lord, I pray that You would use my tongue as Your pen to write upon the hearts of Your people. I pray that we will be transformed and changed and that we will never be the same. Lord, I pray that You would unearth knowledge, wisdom, and revelation. You would show us who we are in Your word, and You will show us who we ought to be. And Lord, I just pray if there's any blind eyes, You would open them. Lord, any deaf ears, You would unstock them. And if there's any frozen hearts, You would uncall them. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. And everyone say, >> "Amen." Amen. Amen. Anyone that knows me knows I'm a holler back. What? >> Preacher. >> That's real simple. That just means when I preach, you >> So holler back. Come on, somebody. Come on. Online in the house. Come on, holler back. Maybe you're watching at work. Maybe you're watching in the car. Come on, holler back. Holler back. Holler back, preacher. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Well, so excited uh about the word that the Lord has given me this morning and I can't wait to share. Now, this ain't the word that I'll be sharing next week, but this is the word that's going to get us through this week. Okay, so if you are taking notes today, the title of my sermon is Stormtested. Stormtested. Um, have you ever been storm tested before? >> Have you ever been storm tested? You got to be storm tested. Um, one time I remember I was staying in this in this house or this Airbnb and I was staying there for the weekend and this place was not storm tested because when the rains came and the wind started blowing, it looked like this place was going to blow down. I was like, where am I at? What is going? This place is not storm tested. And they designed it. It was nice. It was pretty, but it didn't hold up well during the storm. like like stuff was going crazy and I was freaked out because the place wasn't storm tested. I want you to know that in your life, you will go through a storm. Every single one of you guys, you're in three phases of your life. It's either you're about to enter a storm, you're in the middle of a storm, or you're coming out of a storm. Wherever you at, you're in one of those three places. And you better be to storm tested because if you ain't storm tested, the storm is going to show up on you and it's going to destroy you if you're not ready for it. But the reason why I'm ready for the storm is because I'm grounded in my savior. I'm ready for the storm because I'm planted in my savior. I don't have to be afraid of the storm because the winds and the waves obey my God. Go. Come on, somebody. You don't have to be afraid of the storm. Why? Because Jesus has authority over the storm. He has dominion over the storm. And the winds and the seas has to obey Jesus because He has all power and authority over the storm. And I want you to know because Jesus has power over the storm. You have power over the storm. You have authority over the storm. You ain't got to be scared of the storm. You are storm tested. Come on, somebody.
So, today we're going to talk about being storm tested and how to survive a storm. And not only survive a storm, but how to thrive in the middle of a storm. Because the storm is not just opposition, it's actually opportunity to strengthen you and to make you a stronger version of yourself. Jesus don't just let you go through the storm aimlessly. He lets you go through the storm because the storm is actually an advantage for you. You come out stronger out of the storm. You come with more discernment after the storm. You have more wisdom after the storm. I am better because of the storm. So God's going to use the storm not to destroy you, but to develop you. Come on, somebody. So if you have your Bibles, go to Matthew chapter 14. We're going to do some Bible reading. Matthew 14 verse 22. Give you guys a second to get there. Matthew 14 verse 22. And it reads, "Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat to go before Him to the other side while He sent the multitudes away." Verse 23. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there, but the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. I want you to know, the wind will always be contrary. The wind will always resist you. It will always be contrary to where you're going, to what you're trying to do. Every time you try to walk in the will of God, you will feel wind being contrary to you, stopping you from walking in the will of God. The wind will always be contrary to what God said. Verse 25, now in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went to them walking on the sea. Here go Jesus walking on water, just walking on top of the pool. And verse 26 says, "And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, it is a ghost, and they cried out for fear." I would have probably cried out too if I saw a man walking on water in the middle of the storm. It ain't like He in a on a sunny day on the beach just walking on the pool. It's in the middle of a storm. That's kind of scary, y'all. So, they were afraid. But immediately Jesus spoke to them saying, "Be of good cheer. It is I. Do not be afraid." He was like, "It's me." Like, if you're down with God and you know me, you good. >> And then Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on water." I love Peter. He got ridiculous faith. He said, "If it's really You, let me come, too." And maybe some of you guys got to start praying prayers like that. >> So He said, "Come." And then Peter had come out of the boat. He walked on water to go to Jesus. Wow. He walked on water, too. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me." And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand, caught him, and said to him, "Oh, you of little faith, why did you doubt?" Wow. Wow. Wow.
So, we have this scene here, and it's a powerful scene because they had just got done doing amazing things, great miracles. They were feeding people and blessing people. And Jesus said, "It's time to go to the other side." Now, Jesus said, "I'm going to put you in this boat and you're going to go on. You're going to go in this boat to the other side." But here's the issue. Whenever Jesus tells you where to go and whenever you're in the will of God, when He sends you to the other side, there will always be resistance and there will always be wind. So as they got ready to go to the other side, they was excited. Jesus, we going to go to the other side. We excited. We happy to follow Jesus. And all of a sudden the storm, the winds, the waves showed up and all of a sudden it started resisting them because it was contrary. What does it mean to be contrary? It means to be opposite. Which means that the way they was trying to go, the wind was saying, "No, you need to go back the other way. I'm not going to allow you to go to the other side." Why would the wind stop them from going to the other side? It's because Satan is the prince of this air and he will use elements to distract you and stop you from going to the place that Jesus has called you to. Jesus said, "Go to the other side." And Satan used the elements. He used the sea. He used the storm to say no, you need to turn around and stay on the side that you are. Why wouldn't Satan want them to go to the other side? Because on the other side, it's the will of God and the promise of God. And Satan don't want them to go to the other side because sometimes on the other side, that's where your peace is. Sometimes on the other side, that's where your breakthrough is. Sometimes on the other side, that's where your healing is. Sometimes that's where your purpose is and your destiny is. Some of you guys are in bondage right now. Not because you supposed to be in bondage, but because you didn't make it to the other side where your freedom was and your healing was and your breakthrough was. Because sometimes Jesus will have your breakthrough attached to instruction.
So there was something on the other side for them. And I want to tell you something so powerful. ON THE OTHER SIDE, THERE WAS a greater level of authority because on this side they were serving the people of God. On the other side, they'll be delivering the people of God. On this side, they was feeding people with bread and fish. But on the other side, they would be casting out demonic spirits, setting people free. And there was a level of authority that would be unlocked. And this is why Satan didn't want them to go to the other side. I got news for you. There's a blessing on the other side. There's breakthrough on the other side. THERE'S HEALING ON THE OTHER SIDE. And you got to get to THE OTHER SIDE. AND SOMETIMES Jesus is like Adele. He's saying hello from the other side because on the OTHER SIDE, IT IS WHERE YOU'RE going to be released into what God has called you to do. Come on, somebody. >> You have to get to the other side. >> And the thing is, there's something so powerful in the Bible. As they're being resisted about going to the other side, something so powerful happened. Here's what happened. The book of Mark said this. The book of Mark said that Jesus was actually walking on water and He was about to pass them by. >> Now, I got a question. If they are in the storm, the storm is boisterous, the winds and waves are roaring and waging against them. Why would Jesus be willing to pass them up in the middle of the storm? >> Well, Jesus will pass them for one reason in the middle of the storm is this. He knew that they would survive the storm. Jesus knows you would survive the storm. And if you survive the storm, you're actually strengthened in the storm. So the storm isn't always bad. The storm is actually a good thing because if you survive it, it strengthens you. If you survive it, it strengthens you. He was going to pass them by because He knew they would survive the storm. I don't know who I'm talking to right now and I don't know where you are. But I want you to know you're going to survive this storm. I know it's hard. I know you're confused. I know you don't know which way to go, but you're going to survive this storm. And not only you going to survive this storm, you're going to thrive in this storm because you're GOING TO COME OUT OF this storm STRONGER THAN YOU WAS BEFORE YOU WENT INTO this storm. Oh, can we give God a praise break in this place? Come on, you got living room. Give Him a praise break. Come on IN YOUR CAR. LET them know that YOU'RE GOING TO SURVIVE this storm and even thrive in it. >> You're surviving the storm. So Jesus said, "Go to the other side." And He was about to pass them by. The question is, if Jesus was going to pass them by, where was Jesus going? >> Jesus was going to the place that He sent them to. He was going to the other side and He was going to pass them by. Maybe you feel like God is passing you by right now. Maybe you feel like He's silent. Maybe you feel like He ain't speaking. I want to give you a navigation to where Jesus may be. Jesus is probably waiting on the end of your last instruction. >> Jesus said, "Break off that toxic relationship." And you feel like you ain't heard Jesus since He told you that because He's waiting at the end of that breakup. Jesus said it's time for you to start getting involved in serving in the church and you ain't served. Jesus is waiting at the beginning of your service. Wherever Jesus has instructed you to go, if you feel like He has went silent and passed you by, it's because He's waiting in the place of the last instruction He gave you. Which means if Jesus isn't on this side, if He isn't where you are, it's because He's waiting for where He sent you. He's waiting at where He sent you. He's waiting at the next place. He's waiting at the next level. He sent you to the other side where your authority is, your healing is, and your breakthrough is. If He's not here, it's because He's waiting on you there. Meet Jesus on the other side.
And there's powerful things on the other side, but the wind will always be contrary. But Jesus didn't go to the other side because the disciples started crying out in fear. They thought He was a ghost. I want you to know that even as Jesus is on mission, He loves you so much that when you cry out in fear, He will stop and comfort you and meet you on this side. He will strengthen you and get you prepared for the other side. >> And then all of a sudden, Jesus did the miraculous. Jesus just came walking on top of the sea, walking on water. And they thought it was a ghost. And Jesus was like, "No, it's me." And then Peter was that crazy disciple. He was LIKE, "JESUS, WHAT IF IT'S YOU BEEN BID ME to come too? If it's you, let me come too." And I would have been like, "No, leave me in this boat. I ain't going nowhere." But Peter said, "Jesus, if it's you, let me come." Lord, if it's you, bid me to come. And I love Jesus because all Jesus said was, "Come." I would have needed more insuranceances. I would have needed Jesus to say, "Come and I'm going to make sure you don't drown. Come and I'm going to make sure you don't sink. Come and I'm going to make sure free willie and all the whales don't eat you. Come and I'm GOING TO MAKE SURE THE SHARKS DON'T GET YOU." LIKE, I would have needed assurances. Come and you won't blow away. So, if Jesus would have told me to come, I'd have like, "Okay, so what does this look like when I come?" Like, I I I need some more than that, Jesus. You got a whole Bible. You going to give me one word? I need more than just come. >> But Jesus told Peter, "Come." And Peter had audacious faith and he got up out the boat and he too started walking on water. >> Imagine. Imagine what you could do if you responded to Jesus's command. >> Imagine what you could do if you responded to Jesus's instruction. How many times have Jesus asked you to come and you stayed? How many times did Jesus say to you, "Let it go." And you kept holding it. How many times did Jesus say, "Get some sleep." and you stayed up. How many times did Jesus say, "I got it, but you try to control it." What would happen if we were like Peter and we just responded to Jesus's instruction? What kind of breakthrough, what kind of authority, what kind of power will be released in our life? When Jesus say come, you want to know what you're supposed to do? You're supposed to go.
And when you go, He will take care of all the rest of it. Because in His instruction, even though He didn't give you more information, there was a miracle embedded in His instruction. Yeah. >> Because when He said come, Peter's ability to violate the laws of buoyancy was inside of the command to come. So everything HE NEEDED, THE STRENGTH, the power, the faith, AND THE ABILITY TO VIOLATE BUOYANCY WAS IN THE WORD OF JESUS. AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW, I don't know what word Jesus is giving you, but the miracle is embedded inside of it. And everything you need is inside of the COMMAND OF GOD. CAN WE GIVE HIM A praise break in this place? He >> said, "Come." >> And Peter went and Peter did something so powerful when he went. He looked at Jesus. >> He looked at his savior. And I want you to know that when you're getting ready to walk in a storm, make sure you never put your eyes on the storm, but keep your eyes on the savior. >> Because when Peter looked at Jesus, he was walking on water. When Peter looked at Jesus, he was violating the laws of buoyancy. When Peter walked looked at Jesus, he was walking on water and doing the impossible. But the moment Peter took his eyes off of Jesus and looked at the sea, he started sinking. >> Why? Because you will always follow your focus. >> You will always follow your focus. Which means that if your focus is on the savior, you're going to follow Him. But if your focus is on a storm, you're going to follow it. And the storm is calling you to sink. But Jesus is calling you to sail. Watch your focus because you will always follow your focus. And Peter was walking on water until he stopped looking at Jesus and he started looking at the storm and he began to sink. I want to ask you, what is your focus on? Is it on the problems? Is it on the giant? Is it on the storm? Is it on the pain? Is it on the frustration? Is it on the bills? Or is it on your king? >> Because if He's your focus, then you're going to be able to walk over impossible circumstances and situations. But if the storm is your focus, it's going to pull you under every single time. What is your focus? What are you focusing on? What are you focused on? Because whatever you focus on, that's what you will follow. But Peter knew something so powerful. He said, "All I have to do is be able to see Jesus. And if when he saw Jesus, he can do the impossible." And I want you to know, when you see Jesus, you can do the impossible. If you see Jesus, you can break out of the boat. If you see Jesus, you can walk on the sea. If you see Jesus, you can walk over the storm. But if you see the storm, you will sink. What do you see? And all of a sudden, Peter started sinking because he wasn't looking at his sail. They stop looking at Jesus. And I want to encourage you, church. I want to encourage you online. I want to encourage you in your living room. Never lose your focus. Keep your eyes on Jesus. And long as you see Jesus, everything else is possible. Now, I want to dig a little bit deeper. Can I go deeper? >> Okay, let's go deeper. Jesus said something at the end of the scripture we read and it was something staggering that He said to Peter. He said, "Oh you of little faith." And I got a little frustrated when I read that because I'm like Jesus, you said come. He popped up out the boat and walked on water. If you would have said come to me, I would have put on my seat belt in the boat. >> Which means if He is of little faith, what is the rest of us? >> What are we? So I'm like, Jesus, there has to be something missing here because that sounds like a lot of faith to me. That's a lot of faith. And if you said it's little faith, that means we ain't got no faith. And then Jesus said, "You need to look closer to what I said." And it took me to James chapter 1. And Jesus talked about this enduring faith. And what Jesus was saying to Peter is He was saying it wasn't that your faith wasn't strong enough. It was that your faith wasn't long enough. Be >> cause Jesus doesn't measure faith by its density. >> He measures faith by its duration. >> He doesn't measure faith by how enormous it is. He measures faith by how enduring it is. So when He said Peter HAD A LITTLE FAITH, HE WASN'T saying that he didn't have enough. He was saying that he didn't have enough to finish. Because Jesus's will was for Peter to keep on walking on water, not start walking on water and sink. In other words, you had enormous faith to get out the boat, but you didn't have enduring faith to walk on the sea long enough because he never had to go back in the boat if he would had enduring faith. He had enormous faith. It got him out the boat, but he didn't have enduring faith. I want you to know sometimes it's not that your faith ain't strong enough, it's that it ain't long enough. How long can you trust God? Can you trust God when the winds are blowing? Can you trust God when it's raining? Can you trust God while it's storming? Can you trust God while EVERYTHING IS FALLING APART? IT'S NOT that it's not strong enough. It's that it's not long enough. Because you trust God for the weekend and when you got to the weekday, you ran out of faith, >> pastor. And the issue is you didn't have enough faith to make it to the other side. >> You had enough faith to get out THE BOAT. YOU DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH FAITH TO RUN OUT to make it to the other side. And so many times you just don't have enough. Jesus is saying it's not about the density. It's about the duration. You need more faith. BUT LIKE SOME of y'all y'all always RUNNING AROUND WITH YOUR gas hand on E with the light on. And the issue is you can live like that, but you can't GO VERY FAR. YOU got to make sure you don't LEAVE THE LIGHT ON your faith because you're not going to be able to make it to the place that Jesus has prepared for you where your authority is and your peace is and your breakthrough is. Oh, can we give Him a praise break in this place? Jesus said you have little faith not in density but in duration. Not not in how big it is, but in how long it is. You ran out of faith. >> The Bible says if you have faith, just like a mustard seed, you can move a mountain. >> So, it's not about having a ton of faith. It's can you hold the faith you have >> in the storm? >> Can your faith survive the storm? >> And what happens is sometimes we go we go into the storm with a bowling ball of faith only to lose it in the sea. Jesus said if you went in with a mustard seed, long as you didn't lose it, it was actually strong faith because it was long faith. Oh, give Him a shout a praise. So, there's something I want to show you. Matthew 14 verse 32. We'll get ready to close here in a moment. Give you guys a second to get there. Matthew 14 verse 32 and it reads, "And when they got in the boat, the wind ceased. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, Truly, You are the Son of God." Now, there's a couple things I want to show you. The first thing I want to show you is this. The Bible said something and I don't think it was a compliment. It said when the wind ceased, they worshiped Jesus. >> I would suggest they should have
been worshiping him when the winds were boisterous.
Because we don't just worship Jesus when he rescues us. We worship him when he instructs us.
Don't just be a rescue worshipper. No, no, no, no. I worship you even if you don't rescue me. I worship you even if you didn't stop the sea. I worship you even if you didn't stop the storm. I worship you if it kept raining. I worship you if the winds kept blowing. I worship you if the sea KEPT ROARING. I'M NOT JUST A conditional worshipper. I'm an unconditional worshipper. I worship him in season, out of season, when it's good, WHEN IT'S BAD, WHEN IT'S BRIGHT, WHEN IT'S NIGHT, WHEN IT'S CALM, and when it's storming. I worship Jesus when the roads are freezing. I worship him in all seasons. OH, IF YOU'RE AN UNCONDITIONAL WORSHIPE, COME ON, GIVE HIM a praise break in this place.
Don't just worship when you're rescued. No, no, no. You worship at all times.
This wasn't a compliment in the Bible because Jesus don't want a conditional worship. He wants an unconditional worship. And an unconditional worship means I will worship you in the storm, not after it. And I don't know what you're in right now. And I don't know what your storm is right now, but I want to encourage you. Don't wait till it's over to worship God. Look at your storm and worship God right in the middle of it.
Worship right in the middle of it. Now, there's something interesting in this story that I want to theologically suggest to you. I want to suggest to you that a lot of people brag on Peter for stepping out and walking on water and Jesus said come and he went but I don't think this is how the story was ever supposed to go. I don't think Peter was ever supposed to get out of the boat.
Because Jesus put him in the boat.
And if Jesus put him in the boat, that means Jesus wanted him to stay in the boat.
But he got uncomfortable. So, he wanted to get out the boat.
And a lot of you guys are in a boat right now that you're uncomfortable in that it's not convenient. That it's not easy. It's frustrating. You don't like it. And you're saying, "Jesus, get me out the boat. Jesus, get me out this situation. Jesus, get me out this job. Jesus, get me out this church. Jesus, get me out this city. Jesus, get me out. Get me out. Get me out." And I think Jesus is saying, "My will is not to get you out the boat. It's to deliver you in the boat."
Well, preacher, prove it. Okay, I got you. If it was Jesus's will for Peter to stay out the boat, why did Jesus put Peter back in the boat? Come on. Come on.
So then you may say, "Well, the question is, if Jesus didn't want Peter to get off the boat, why did Jesus say come?"
Great question. Great question. I believe Jesus said come because he saw Peter. He saw that Peter was scared of the sea. The sea was a prototype of Satan. So Peter is scared of the sea. He's scared of Satan. And I think Jesus told him to come because I think Jesus wanted to show Peter something. I believe Jesus wanted to show Peter something. I believe he wanted to show Peter that what you're scared of is actually under your feet.
Because in the Bible, he said the prince of peace will crush Satan's head under your feet. And he wanted to show him that you're standing on what you're scared of. You're standing on what you're scared of. And I want you to know, you may be scared of that depression, but Jesus said you're standing on it. You may be scared of provision. Jesus said you're standing on it. You may be scared of the other side. Jesus says you're standing on it. He wanted to show you that you have the authority TO STAND ON WHAT YOU'RE SCARED OF. You can stand on what you're scared of. You can stand on what you're scared of. If you trust Jesus, I don't care what you're scared of. You can stand on it. You can stand on the unknown. You can stand on the pain. You can stand on the frustration. I KNOW YOU MIGHT NOT have enough to pay that bill, but you can stand on Jehovah Gyra, who is your great provider. You can stand on WHAT YOU'RE SCARED OF WHEN YOU TRUST IN GOD. COME ON, SOMEBODY.
So Jesus put him back in the boat.
Because he was never supposed to get out.
If it was Jesus's will for Peter to get out the boat, it would have been his will for the other disciples to get out the boat cuz he gave them all the same instruction. But instead, he let Peter walk on what he was scared of. Then he put them back where he placed them. And then Jesus met them on the other side. And if you're frustrated, you don't know what to do in life right now, head to the other side. And the Savior will always meet you there. He is with you in the storm. He is with you in the pain. He's with you in the fire. He's with you in the unknown. Oh, can we give him a shout of praise? Come on, somebody. I know we're in a storm right now, but I want you to know you can be steady in the storm and you can have faith in the storm because you're going to survive the storm and come out strengthened through the storm.
