If You Hear This on Your TV, Turn It Off!

If you hear this on your TV, turn it off. Or if you hear it on your computer or a phone device, turn it off, because this can open a door to demons.

In a world filled with entertainment, media and cultural shifts, Christians must be discerning about what they allow into their ears, eyes and their homes. Many people unknowingly open demonic doors by consuming content that desensitizes them to sin, normalizes the occult and invites spiritual oppression. Not everything on TV is harmless entertainment. Some content carries a spiritual demonic agenda. If you hear these things, turn them off.

Number one, content that normalizes the occult and witchcraft. Shows and movies that are filled with sorcery, spells, spiritism, divination and paranormal activity. What the Bible calls abomination, the world calls entertainment. In Deuteronomy 18:10-11, it says: In 1st Samuel 15:23, "For the rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft." Witchcraft is a sin. And sometimes what happens is we may say, "Well, I'm not going to do witchcraft. I'm just going to pay for a subscription and watch somebody do it or watch somebody do it as an act." Still, that is a potential open door to demonic spirits. So turn these off if you see them: spells, magic words being spoken, séances, or fortune-telling, consulting the dead. A show that glorifies witches, vampires, demons or spirit guides. Turn that off. Even if you're like, "But my favorite actor is in it." Or like, "But I really like the other themes that they have that." No, turn that off.

Number two. Music and shows that glorify sin and rebellion. Secular media often celebrates what God condemns. What entertains you will eventually shape you. What entertains you will eventually control you. The Bible says in 1 John 2:15, "Do not love the world or the things in this world." See, you might be like, "But I like that. I am not singing those songs, I am not participating in that sin but I just like the beat." The Bible says "Do not love the world or the things in this world." When it talks about the world there, it's not talking about the earth, the trees, the rivers and the animals. It's talking about the system of this world that's in rebellion against God. Ephesians 5:1 says, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them." So turn it off if you see this: lyrics that glorify drugs, immorality, violence, and perversion. Jokes that mock God, holiness and purity. Messages that celebrate rebellion, pride and self-worship. The spirit behind the music and media matters more than the lyrics, the visuals or the beat. There is a spirit behind that kind of stuff. People carry that spirit. Even if they don't dedicate that music to Satan, the spirit they carry, the demonic spirits that live in the sons of disobedience, that spirit is going to spill through their lyrics and through their videos.

Number three, what you need to turn off if you see it on your TV or your phone device: New Age manifestations and self-godhood teachings. The New Age movement teaches that you are a god, and that you can manifest reality and all roads lead to the same higher consciousness. This directly contradicts biblical truths. Exodus 20:3, "You shall have no other gods before Me." In 1 Timothy 2:5, Paul says "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the Man Jesus Christ." If you see this, turn it off, phrases like "Speak into existence," "The universe will bless you," "You are a divine sparkle." Tarot readings, energy healing, spirit guides. Teachings about the third eye activation, chakras, or astral projection or yoga. The New Age movement has repackaged Satanism. It has repackaged witchcraft. It has domesticated it by promoting self-exaltation over God's Lordship.

The fourth thing that if you see this, turn it off: horror movies and demon-glorifying films. Many horror movies are based on real demonic manifestations. And of course, a lot of special effects are added, a lot of story is stretched. Most of those, if not many, come from some stories where Catholic priests did some exorcisms. But you know they add the music, they add all kinds of special effects and they add a lot to the stories of those things. And they're made with the purpose not to educate you but to scare you, to entertain you. And there's a lot of people who find that extremely entertaining to be scared to death. Watching those things can open doors to fear, nightmares and oppression. 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear." If you want to have fear, have fear of God. It's a healthy fear. We are not to seek fear, that's demonic. Fear that to constantly live in fear, be scared. We are to seek the fear of the Lord. That's a healthy fear. The Bible says in Psalm 101:3, "I will set nothing wicked before my eyes." If you see demonic names being spoken or summoned, turn it off. Rituals, or exorcisms or possessions being portrayed as entertainment to bring about horror and fear, turn it off. Extreme violence, gore and glorification of evil, turn it off. What you watch enters your spirit. Many people experience nightmares, demonic attacks and fear after consuming horror content because what you consume starts to control you.

The fifth thing, you must turn it off if you see it. It's false teachings that twist the Gospel. Not all Christian content is biblical. Some distort the gospel for personal gain, deception and manipulation. While there could be disagreements within the Christian Bible-believing, Spirit-filled circles on the topic of end times. On the topic of once saved always saved. On the topic of pre-trib, post-trib. On the topic of speaking in tongues or manifestations of the Holy Spirit. I am not talking about those secondary things. I am talking about right now the primary things, the gospel of Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:9, Paul said, "If anyone preaches any other gospel to you than the one you have received, let him be accursed." So this is more radical than just turn it off. Cut it off. 2 Timothy 4:3, Paul says, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, ...they have itching ears, and they heap up for themselves teachers." So if you see a gospel that promotes wealth, health over holiness, salvation and righteousness, turn it off. If you see teachings that reject repentance and sin, turn it off. A doctrine that contradicts Jesus as the only way to salvation, turn it off. Because false doctrines lead to spiritual deception and destruction. While they itch your ears, your ears are the portals into your soul. You get deceived and deceiving spirits begin to come in because you've allowed a false watered down gospel.

The sixth thing that we must turn it off and that is sexual perversion and moral corruption. The entertainment industry has normalized sexual sin. What God calls perversion the world calls freedom. In 1 Corinthians 6:18, Paul says "Flee sexual immorality." 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Scripture says, "For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain," not entertain but abstain, "from sexual immorality." So if you see explicit sex scenes or shows pushing immorality as normal, turn it off. Blasphemous humor mocking purity and biblical values, turn it off. Conversations that normalize LGBTQ agendas that contradict the Scriptures, turn it off. See your exposure leads to desensitization. And when you are desensitized, it eventually leads to compromise.

And lastly, turn this off if you see unclean language and cursing, as well as cursing God's name. Words, they do carry power, and constant exposure to profanity, vulgar language, blasphemy affects your spirit. Ephesians 4:29, says, "Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth." Exodus 20:7, it says, "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain." And you may say, "But I am not cursing." Well you're allowing that, you're listening, you're entertaining yourself with someone else doing that. If you see and hear constant profanity, blasphemy, filthy jokes. Carnal use, casual use of Jesus and God as a curse word, turn it off. Conversations filled with gossip, slander and perversion, turn it off. You will sense a lack of sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. You will sense grieving of the Holy Spirit when that happens because you're polluting your heart and your soul. What fills your ears will eventually shape your speech and spirit. You will start speaking like them because you got desensitized. So, protect your gates because what you watch, what you listen and what you speak determines what enters into your heart, into your spirit. And if you allow demonic influence through entertainment, don't be surprised when you experience spiritual warfare, oppression and distance from God. Take an action today. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of unclean entertainment. Make a commitment to guard your eyes and your ears. Replace demonic content with godly, edifying media.
